      "body": "![_EXTREME-Market-Leverage-FIMAGE2.png](https://steemitimages.com/DQmS3fKLjrk2yz6Sm1CyNqWczi7sE67N9hVkSdRgUpfXj6r/_EXTREME-Market-Leverage-FIMAGE2.png)\n\nAs investors' bullish sentiment moves up to euphoric levels, the markets are reaching extreme leverage.  This is terrible news because a lot of people are going to lose one heck of a lot of money.  According to CNN Money's Fear & Greed Index, the market is now at the \"extreme greed\" level and if we go by Yardeni Research on \"Investor Intelligence Bull-Bear Ratio,\" it's also at the highest ratio in 30 years.\n\nBut, of course... this time is different.  Or is it?  I continue to receive emails and comments on my blog that the Fed will continue to prop up the markets forever.  Unfortunately, there is only so much the Fed can do to rig the markets.  Furthermore, the Fed can't do much to mitigate investor insanity in record NYSE margin debt or the massive $2 trillion in the global short volatility trade.\n\nThe $600 billion in NYSE margin debt suggests traders have racked up a record amount of margin debt (33% more since 2007) and the largest short volatility trade in history.  By shorting volatility, investors are betting that the VIX Index (Volatility Index) will continue to move lower.  A falling volatility index suggests more calm and complacency in the markets.\n\nSo, the market will likely continue higher and higher, until it finally POPS.  And when it does, watch out.\n\nI've put together some charts showing the extreme amount of leverage in the markets.  While this leverage may increase for a while, at some point the insanity will end in one hell of a market correction-crash.\n\nREAD FULL ARTICLE HERE: https://srsroccoreport.com/warning-markets-reaching-extreme-leverage/",

      "body": "The oil market price is setting up for one heck of a fall.  Now, could this large oil correction cause the next stock market crash?  Time will tell.  However, the indicators in the oil market are showing the largest net commercial short positions in history.  The current net commercial short positions in the oil market are even higher by 174,000 contracts than the level when the oil price fell from $105 in mid-2014 to a low of $30 at the beginning of 2016.\n\nFurthermore, there was a previous trend in the 1980’s that suggests we are setting up for a MAJOR stock market crash.       "body": "Chinese demand for physical gold investment surged in the first three-quarters of 2017 while Americans ditched the shiny yellow metal for increased bets in the crypto mania and stock market bubble market.  Even though China's Hang Seng Stock Market outperformed the Dow Jones Index last year, Chinese citizens purchased the most gold bar and coin products Q1-Q3 2017 since the same period in 2013, when they took advantage of huge gold market price selloff.\n\nAccording to the World Gold Council, Chinese gold bar and coin demand increased to 233 metric tons (mt) in the first three-quarters of 2017 compared to 162 mt in the same period last year.  Furthermore, if we include Indian gold bar and coin demand, China and India consumed nearly half of the world's total:\n\n![_Global-Gold-Bar-Coin-Demand-Q1-Q3-2017.png](https://steemitimages.com/DQmajMQkwDgmHxfdj8DCKs4MjSuLsdaSXBtZx3joAhtFYHT/_Global-Gold-Bar-Coin-Demand-Q1-Q3-2017.png)\n\nAs we can see, China and India consumed 338 mt of gold bar and coin products which accounted for 47% of the total 715 mt Q1-Q3 2017.  German gold bar and coin demand of 81 mt took the third highest spot followed by Thailand (49 mt), Turkey (47 mt), Switzerland (31 mt) and the United States (30 mt).  Chinese gold bar and coin demand of 233 mt nearly equaled the total demand by German, Thailand, Turkey, Switzerland and the United States of 238 mt.\n\nIf we compare gold bar and coin demand by these countries in the same period last year, we can see some interesting changes:\n\n![_Global-Gold-Bar-Coin-Demand-Q1-Q3-2016.png](https://steemitimages.com/DQmWehs491wJZSVkaRx4xxDRLZtRSyTpu97wKqiX2QCkGrV/_Global-Gold-Bar-Coin-Demand-Q1-Q3-2016.png)\n\nWhile the increase in Chinese gold bar and coin demand was the big winner (162 mt to 233 mt), Turkish demand nearly doubled from 24 mt in 2016 to 47 mt this year.  However, the biggest loser in the group was in the United States.  U.S. Gold bar and coin demand fell substantially to 30 mt Q1-Q3 2017 from 66 mt during the same period last year.\n\nAs I mentioned at the beginning of the article, Americans shunned gold to make it RICH in the rapidly rising Stock and Crypto Markets.  We can see this quite clearly as investors choose to bet on the Dow Jones Index as it surged by 30% last year versus a mere 13.5% for gold:\n\n![_Dow-Jones-Index-30%-2017-vs-Gold-Bar-Coin-Demand.png](https://steemitimages.com/DQmSth2jYznLR91avpwb5QNZXZ4X6XSjGNaRUz6eoAr2vYP/_Dow-Jones-Index-30%25-2017-vs-Gold-Bar-Coin-Demand.png)\n\nSo, as the Dow Jones Index increased nearly 6,000 points, or 30% since the beginning of 2017, U.S. demand for gold bar and coins fell 55% (Q1-Q3 2017).  Also, it makes perfect sense that American investors ditched gold for much larger 1,000+% gains in cryptocurrencies.\n\nThe stunning performance in the stock and crypto markets has frustrated precious metals investors to no end.  Not only do I see this all over the internet, but I also receive a lot of emails and comments on my blog.  And, it doesn't help that some precious metals investors, now turned crypto specialists and aficionados, are only happy discussing assets that make 10-20 baggers.  Forget about old fashion work and taking the time and money to build something real, we have now moved into a new investment strategy that to be successful, one must make 6-7 figure returns by clicking on a mouse.\n\nAll I can say is this... enjoy the Crypto fun while it lasts, because the forces of Gravity will once again bring us back down to earth where making a real living takes a lot of sweat and labor.  While some followers sense that I am negative about the cryptocurrencies, I am.  However, it is for a good reason.  Even though the Blockchain technology offers interesting solutions, the speculative mania is a different story entirely.  And, yes.. let's not forget the tremendous amount of fraud and corruption in the crypto markets.  If you don't believe me, just wait around a while... LOL.\n\nRegardless, while the Dow Jones Index jumped by 30% last year, the Chinese Hang Seng market did one better by surging 43%:\n\n![_Hang-Seng-Market-43%-vs-Gold-Bar-Coin-Demand-2017.png](https://steemitimages.com/DQmfYTmgzzBeMRMuGUNRAisr8cJJRtkVqPKRpVdpuXs5dk1/_Hang-Seng-Market-43%25-vs-Gold-Bar-Coin-Demand-2017.png)\n\nEven with their Hang Seng Index up higher than the Dow Jones, Chinese gold bar and coin demand increased by 44% while U.S. physical gold investment demand fell by 55%.  Now, some may believe that the increase in Chinese gold and bar and coin purchases were partly due to the Chinese government banning the trading on cryptocurrency exchanges in the country.  However, the crypto exchange ban did not take place until the last quarter of 2017.  So, the 44% increase in Chinese gold bar and coin demand occurred before the banning of their cryptocurrency exchanges.   Because of the crypto exchange ban, we may see a spike in Chinese gold bar and coin demand during Q4 2017 when the statistics are released.\n\nFor whatever reason, Chinese physical gold investment demand increased significantly Q1-Q3 2017 while U.S. demand dropped like a rock.  It will be interesting to see how 2018 unfolds and if the extreme leverage in the stock and crypto markets finally unravels.  You see, it's not a matter of if, it's only a matter of time.  And, while many believe the Dow Jones will continue higher forever, all markets have to correct.  However, the next correction may turn out to be one heck of a crash.",

      "body": "In this update, Tom Cloud reviewed his calls on for the precious metals market last year and what he sees taking place in 2018.  Tom discusses their price targets and the overall precious metals market.  For example, Tom's forecast for gold to go up 10% in 2017 actually turned out to be 13.5%.  This was due to what he saw as the falling U.S. Dollar Index.\n\nAccording to Tom, the gold price in the past tends to go up about 8% for every 1% decline in the value of the Dollar.  The U.S. Dollar fell 3% in 2017, so that suggested a 24% increase in the value of gold.  However, the gold price only went up 13.5% last year.  So, Tom sees the gold price catching up this year and believes it will increase another 10-15%.\n\nThe reason Tom believes the gold price will increase in 2018 has to do with the overvalued Stock Market, the ongoing policy by the Chinese to back their Yuan by gold and the continued weakness of the U.S. Dollar.  I most certainly agree with Tom on the U.S. Bubble Stock Market.   Just a correction of 10-15% could cause a huge increase in retail and physical gold bar and coin demand.\n\nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ULC325fimI&t\n\nTom also discusses how some of his clients did very well by taking his advice on purchasing palladium at the beginning of 2017.   Palladium was the big precious metals winner last year by rising 50% from $706 to $1,057.  In addition, Tom explains some of the dynamics of the platinum and palladium market.\n\nWhile I don't pay too much attention to the short-term precious metals price movements as does Tom, he does provide this information to those investors (especially to his wealthy clients) who like to trade the metals.  Regardless, I sponsor Tom Cloud on my site because he is one of the most honest and upfront precious metals dealers in the industry.  Also, Tom has some of the lowest rates in the precious metals industry.\n\nFor those precious metals investors that WANT STORAGE, his service offers the lowest rate in the industry.  He has told that when some precious metals investors, who are storing their metal with another company, found out about his low rates, they were literally shocked.   Actually, some were quite upset how much they were overpaying.\n\nI am not going to get into a debate on whether or not an individual should use a storage facility to store their metal.  Some precious metals investors choose to store gold and silver because they have too much metal or they want to diversify their holdings in many areas.\n\nCheck back for new articles and updates at the SRSrocco Report.",

UP, it is setting up for one heck of a crash.  While market corrections aren't fun for investors' portfolios, they are NECESSARY.  However, it seems that corrections are no longer allowed to take place because if they did, then the tremendous leverage in the market might turn a normal correction into panic selling and a meltdown on the exchanges.\n\nSo, we continue to see the Dow Jones Index hit new record highs, as it moved up 765 points since the beginning of the year.  Now, if w go back to 1981 when the Dow was trading about 800 points, it took five years to double itself by another 800 points.  However, the Dow Jones Index just added 765 points in less than two weeks.  It doesn't matter if the (1) point increase in the Dow Jones today is insignificant compared to a (1) point increase in 1981, investors feel rich when the numbers are increasing in a BIG WAY.\n\nThis is the same phenomenon taking place in the Bitcoin-Crypto Market.  Crypto investors who are used to 10-20 baggers (10-20 times increase) no longer have the patience to invest in a real company that might grow on a 10-25% basis annually.  Why the hell put money in a real business that employees a lot of people when you can turn $1,000 into $50 million in a few weeks?\n\nUnfortunately, the Bitcoin-Crypto Market has destroyed the new Millennials ability even to consider making old fashion sound investments in real capital-intensive companies.  Today, the Entrepreneurs rather make money trading Cryptos on their I-Phone, sporting a few thumbs-up Selfies, compared to the previous generation of business people doing deals out of their briefcases.\n\nRegardless, as the stock markets head even higher, it should provide a big RED WARNING LIGHT to investors that all is not well.  I put together my first YouTube video titled, THE STOCK MARKET BUBBLE vs. GOLD & SILVER;\n\nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uM_LBoHWjrg&t\n\nIn my video, I show how the Dow Jones Index and certain stocks are truly in bubble territory.  I also explain why the gold and silver values compared to the Dow Jones and these stocks are tremendously undervalued.  Furthermore, I provide an update on the cost to produce Bitcoin versus Gold.\n\nI plan on putting out 1-2 new videos each week on various subjects and believe the video platform will be able to explain some difficult concepts and analysis about how Energy and the Falling EROI will impact precious metals, mining, economy, financial system and our future society.",

      "body": "<html>\n<p>&nbsp;When the paper markets finally collapse, the silver market is set up &nbsp;for much higher price gains than gold.&nbsp; Why?&nbsp; Because the fundamentals &nbsp;show that precious metals investment demand has put a great deal more &nbsp;pressure on the silver supply than gold... and by a long shot.</p>\n<p>There &nbsp;are three crucial reasons why the silver price will outperform the gold &nbsp;price when the highly inflated paper markets disintegrate under the &nbsp;weight of massive debt and derivatives.&nbsp; While many precious metals &nbsp;investors are frustrated by the ability of the Fed and Central Banks to &nbsp;continue to prop up the markets, the longer they postpone the day of &nbsp;reckoning, the worse the collapse.</p>\n<p>The first reason I wrote about in my article, <a href=\"https://srsroccoreport.com/critically-high-u-s-silver-supply-reliance-in-jeopardy-when-paper-markets-crack/\"><em><strong>Critically High U.S. Silver Supply Reliance In Jeopardy When Paper Markets Crack</strong></em></a>:</p>\n<blockquote><img src=\"https://srsroccoreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/US-Net-Import-Reliance-Percentage-Of-Consumption-2015.png\" width=\"657\" height=\"467\"/></blockquote>\n<blockquote><strong>the &nbsp;United States silver net import reliance as a percentage of total &nbsp;consumption, was 72%, versus 36% for copper and a negative 48% for gold.</strong></blockquote>\n<p>This chart shows that the U.S. relied upon 72% of its domestic silver demand from foreign sources in 2015.&nbsp; <strong>Thus, &nbsp;U.S. silver supply reliance (72%) is double that of copper (36%), while &nbsp;U.S. gold demand enjoyed a 48% surplus versus its domestic supply.</strong></p>\n<p>The &nbsp;second reason the silver price will surge higher than the gold price is &nbsp;due to the amount of physical silver, in total ounces, purchased by &nbsp;investors versus gold:</p>\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<img src=\"https://srsroccoreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/Silver-vs-Gold-Bar-Coin-Demand-2010-2016.png\" width=\"654\" height=\"461\"/></p>\n<p>From &nbsp;2010 to 2016, investors purchased a total of 1,505 million oz (Moz) of &nbsp;silver bar and coin compared to only 284 Moz of physical gold.&nbsp; Thus, <strong>precious metals investors purchased five times more silver ounces, than gold ounces during this seven year time period.</strong></p>\n<p>Of &nbsp;course, the total value of physical gold investment was much higher &nbsp;than silver during this time period, but this tremendous amount of &nbsp;silver bar and coin demand has impacted the silver market much greater &nbsp;than the gold market.</p>\n<p>This brings me to the third reason.&nbsp; Due to &nbsp;the huge amount of silver bar and coin demand since 2010, the silver &nbsp;market suffered a net deficit of 801 Moz.&nbsp; However, the 284 Moz of gold &nbsp;bar and coin demand did not impact the gold market the same way.&nbsp; &nbsp;According to the World Gold Council, the gold market enjoyed a small 7.5 &nbsp;Moz net surplus during this time period:</p>\n<p><img src=\"https://srsroccoreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/Silver-vs-Gold-Net-Market-Balance-2010-2016.png\" width=\"655\" height=\"461\"/></p>\n<p>While &nbsp;it is true that World Gold Council may be underestimating Chinese &nbsp;physical gold demand, and its impact on the annual surplus of deficit &nbsp;figures, a 7.5 Moz surplus is only 3% of the 284 Moz total gold bar and &nbsp;coin demand figure 2010-2016.&nbsp;&nbsp; However, the 801 Moz net silver deficit &nbsp;is more than 50% of total silver bar and coin demand during that same &nbsp;time period.</p>\n<p>Which means, physical silver investment demand is &nbsp;causing much more stress on the silver market than it is on gold.&nbsp; While &nbsp;the silver market has been able to supplement the annual deficits with &nbsp;old silver coin stocks or large bars that were liquidated during the &nbsp;1990's, this is not an endless supply.</p>\n<p>According to the data I &nbsp;obtained from the GFMS Team at Thompson Reuters, invested dumped a net &nbsp;580 Moz of silver bar and coin on the market between 1995-1999.&nbsp; <strong>Now &nbsp;compare that to the past five years (2012-2016) as investors purchased a &nbsp;net 1,152 Moz (1.15 billion oz) of silver bar and coin.</strong></p>\n<p>And &nbsp;here is the CLINCHER.&nbsp; From 1985 to 2007, the total net silver bar and &nbsp;coin demand was a NEGATIVE 95 Moz.&nbsp; Which means investors sold a net 95 &nbsp;Moz of silver bar and coin in that 23 year period.&nbsp; <strong>However, investors purchased a net 1,785 Moz of silver bar and coin from 2008 to 2016.</strong>&nbsp; This is a huge TREND CHANGE.</p>\n<p>After &nbsp;the U.S. financial and economic meltdown in 2007, investors continue to &nbsp;purchase a record amount of silver bar and coin.&nbsp; This has put severe &nbsp;stress on the silver market as the total net deficit since 2008 &nbsp;surpassed 1,155 Moz.</p>\n<p>While the silver market will continue to &nbsp;supplement the ongoing annual deficits with old silver stocks, this &nbsp;supply is not endless.&nbsp; Furthermore, the days of the TRUMP STOCK MARKET &nbsp;RALLY are numbered.&nbsp; The last time the stock market crashed 2,000 points &nbsp;in the beginning of 2016, investors flocked into gold and silver in a &nbsp;BIG WAY.</p>\n<p>In conclusion, the fundamentals in the silver market are &nbsp;setting up for a much higher price spike than gold due to the three &nbsp;reasons stated in the article.&nbsp; The timing of these event is hard to &nbsp;forecast as it is difficult to pinpoint when the Fed and Central Banks &nbsp;lose control of their massive market intervention.&nbsp; My work is not meant &nbsp;to provide a short term outlook on the precious metals, rather it &nbsp;offers fundamentals that will win out over the medium to longer term.</p>\n<p>Precious &nbsp;metals investors need to look at buying and holding gold and silver the &nbsp;same way an individual puts money away each month in their 401K, &nbsp;pension plan or retirement account.&nbsp;
