| title | Elya now provides crypto transfers from phone to phone |
| body | I wrote another article on Elya's new roadmap and tech a few months back. The article was titled [Elya is 1 year old - now comes new tech and a green transformation](https://steemit.com/elya/@spfoo/elya-coin-is-1-year-old-now-comes-new-tech-and-a-green-transformation). So to understand the project and background head there first unless you are already familiar with Elya. Lately the Elya development team has been working on a new mobile wallet. The wallet has not been released yet, but one of the functions it will provide is already available as a web service. That is you can now **transfer airtime** from one Elyatel number or SIM card to another. The service for Elya SIM card users is available [here]( https://elya.io/transfert/). Now this may not seem like much, but let's think again. The Elya airtime is stored on your phone's Elyatel SIM card. That is your Elya crypto hardware wallet at the same time. Now what comes out of this is rather interesting. Think how small a step away this technology is from a full-fledged **crypto bank** and **crypto payment** solution on your phone. Yes, a very small step indeed. A mobile crypto payment solution is truly the holy grail of blockchain. There are numerous blockchain projects trying to achieve just that. Elya can have a very powerful position on this market. One of the reasons is that the SIM card acts as a hardware wallet for crypto storage. Moreover Elya will soon be able to operate transactions without an internet connection by using plain SMS messaging. It's probably too early to declare that Elya will take over Western Union or similar giants on the current **money transfer and payment processing market**. But it is in a very promising stage right now. [Elya website](https://elya.io) |

| title | Elya coin is 1 year old – now comes new tech and a green transformation! |
| body | **Elya** is one of the projects I've been following closely since it's inception. The project just came out with a new White Paper describing the current status and plans for the future. I document worth reading! And it is also a truly GREEN project with an added emphasis on social and environmental aspects through it's new foundation part. In my opinion it's one of the most interesting crypto projects out there. Let me explain why. **Background:** Elya coin was born a little over one year ago. Elya however is much more than just another crypto coin. Elya is a concept in itself. It consists of a 3-dimensional universe made out of: 1. ElyaTel - a mobile operator providing mobile phone services and an anonymous SIM card 2. Elya Coin - a crypto coin used to buy air time for the ElyaTel SIM card 3. Elya Foundation - a foundation aiming to make a social and environmental impact. I'll break these down a little bit below. Now the key connecting dots about the first 2 are obvious. You have a SIM card which is a crypto hardware wallet at the same time and you have the coin to use. Think about the possibilities this opens up: - It provides a secure anonymous hardware platform for transactions and purchases. - You can send money from one phone to another from anywhere to anywhere with minimal (even zero) cost. - You can purchase goods and services easily and safely. - You can use your phone as your portable bank account As external payment systems (Visa, MasterCard etc.) will be integrated more and more with Elya it has an enormous potential to become a strong player in crypto payment platforms. **ElyaTel:** Elyatel® is a registered trademark since 2010,trading since 2009. We provide telecommunications services, international roaming and IT solutions. Currently operating in 120 countries, Elyatel® has served over 500,000 customers worldwide, providing GSM 900/3G/4G global roaming. Key ElyaTel crypto aspects: - Unlike most of telecommunication operators our system provides a unique feature, any SIM card holder is capable to top up the card in a local currency, cryptocurrency and send it to the balance of other mobile phone. - the SIM cards allow users to transfer funds abroad just like any financial service providers, but paying zero commission fee and avoiding any hidden charges whatsoever. Thus it's a commission free alternative for anyone willing to transfer funds abroad. - Users can credit balance with ELYA and let the credit on the SIM wallet as long as they decide to. - Credit can be converted your into BTC and fiat again, by being sent back to a credit card, or received in fiat at local distributor points. And then the big one: - **ELYA Coin will be available offline**. Yes, you read that right! ELYA will be used globally covering up to 95% of the planet, even in the middle of deserts and over the oceans. Through partnership ELYA will be able to use the blockchain without internet network through the SMS protocol. **Elya Coin:** - originally a proof-of-work eg. traditionally minable Cryptonight-based coin - since march 2019 a proof-of-stake coin where mining is done by holding the coins in a wallet and keeping it open. - currently trading at a rather funny 2 satoshi price on the STEX exchange - software wallets for various platforms are available - master nodes will be available at a later date - exchanges: http://stex.com, http://caratexchange.io, http://golix.com **The Elya Foundation:** ELYA Foundation is a non-governmental organization, founded under European law and based in a neutral country. ELYA has dedicated itself to philanthropic goals. As of January 2019, ELYA has signed major philanthropic partnerships in order to improve daily life of people in multiple countries. These philanthropic partnerships are based on the four elements listed below: **WATER** 1 ELYA = 1 liter of drinkable water : partnership with SunWaterLife’s mobile purification system. Using RFID smart card charged with ELYA will allow people to receive 1 liter of drinkable water for 1 ELYA in remote areas of Asia and Africa. **AIR** Airtime : MVNO with Global Roaming Sim Card Provider (operating since 2009). ELYA allows top up for GSM 900 and international 3G/4G data. The SIM card can also be used as a cold storage for the ELYA. **WOOD** Partnership with the Foundation “Man in Nature” : ELYA will be used by all the inhabitants of natural reserve of VOHIMANA (Madagascar), fighting against the deforestation of the valuable trees of the primary forest. **EARTH** Economists and commodity experts have created a workshop in order to peg the price of the ELYA sovereign currency to the price of natural resources, precious metals and precious stones instead of the fiat currencies. **SUN** Off the grid nano solar plant that will allow individual users and small businesses to go totally off the grid with ElyaTel and ELYA coin, paying for energy and communications in ELYA Coin. **LIFE** ELYA is accepted in the 77 bio vegetarian restaurants and salad bars worldwide in 50 countries. **The updated roadmap looks like this**: **2019** - February : Release of ELYA GUI wallets for Mac, Linux and Windows. - March : ELYA becomes POS coin - April : New ELYA website release https://elya.io/ - April : Release of Android Mobile wallet - April : Implementation of credit card processing on elya.io : buying ELYA with credit card will become a convenient way to buy Cryptocurrencies by processing payments through VISA and MasterCard - May : ELYA augmented connectivity mobile wallet - June : ELYA online staking pool with fixed rate - July : Release of gold collateral of ELYA Coin - August : Global partnership of ELYA with mutually profitable cross-fertilization, development of ELYA distribution network serving local economies. - October : Mobile Application that will allow to top up ElyaTel SIM card from ELYA mobile wallet app. **2020** - January : Launch of ELYA Masternode Rewards - February : Listing on MasterNodes.online and MasterNodes.pro - April : ELYA branded Visa and Mastercards available with SMS verification sent to the ElyaTel sim card. Also keep in mind that more partnerships are under negotiations and are not necessarily indicated on the above roadmap yet. And that's it - in a nutshell. Quite an offering, isn't it :-) |

| title | Bonito, Brazil |
| body | Bonito is a little village in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul. Surprisingly it's main attractions are under water - the crystal clear rivers full of underwater life. The main one is Rio da Prata e.g. Silver River. Tours are organized from the village to the various attractions. Rio da Prata for example lies nearly an hours car ride away from the village itself. Typically you are obliged to purchase a full-day tour including a less interesting walk in the forest visit to a crater in the morning and the river after lunch in the afternoon. The crater has some caymans and you may see some birds around there, but generally it's not much to see. It can be annoying if you are on a tight schedule since the reason people take this tour is simply Rio da Prata and doing just that would allow for some other activity on the same day. But then we finally get our gear after lunch. The guide asks us to avoid using sunscreen in order to protect the river. That gives and idea how many visitors this place has. We head towards the river first by a strange tourist transport and then by foot. On the path the guide checks a stop watch hanging on the side of the path. We stop for a moment to wait - the stop watch is used to separate groups into 15-minute intervals. Finally we continue and walk the remaining part to the starting point. We get into the water and the guides give a few minute course pointing out repeatedly that diving in the river is not allowed. Well that's impossible anyway with the wet suit and a floating jacket that could float an elephant. A quick look under water at the starting pond in the river and you'll already know why it was worth all the extra touring and lunching. The water is amazingly clear and there are fish all over the place. And this is just the point of entry into the water. Then the guide waves everybody to follow him in a line. We start swimming towards a little opening in the other end of the pond. There's a narrow stream connecting with the main river and the fun starts. We just float along with the current watching fish swim by underneath. A few times the guide stops as there are narrower rapids with rocks so he makes us go through one by one helping the ones who need by pushing them away from the rocks while they float by. We also take a break on a platform on the side of the river and we are finally allowed to dive. In the bottom sand I see some movement and dive down to check it out - it's a spring or underground stream joining the river that blows up the sand in the bottom. Very nice! ### Accommodation There are many options in Bonito from hotels to hostels. Some hostels even have pools. Prices are relatively high e.g. a double room in a hostel costs more than a room in a reasonable hotel in other places of Brazil - even Iguacu. ### Cost Bonito is very expensive for Brazilian standards. And don't even think about exchanging USD or other currencies in Bonito - you will pay dearly in your foreign currency for every reals you get. Supermarkets and the rest are way more expensive than elsewhere in Brazil. Use a credit card and/or have your reals before arriving to Bonito. ### Eating out Touristic as it is you know the drill. A few upscale restaurant in the best locations of the main street. Other places like pizzerias etc around them and the typical places further away. Ask for the local fish specialty dish which is really delicious. Don't expect to find wine on the menu - beer is the thing in Bonito and as usual in Brazil it's very good. ### How to get there There is an airport connecting with the Campo Grande airport. Otherwise shuttles and buses are available from Campo Grande and Corumba - depending where you are coming from. Coming from Bolivia like I did the cheapest option is the bus from Corumba, but it leaves at 6 AM and doesn't run on Sundays or public holidays. I crossed the border later than 6AM and it was a Saturday so I booked a shuttle for the next day with one of the travel agencies across the street from the bus terminal and stayed one night in Corumba. Note that Campo Grande has a brand new bus terminal outside the city. The old one near the city center is not in use although many travel web sites still refer to it. |

| title | “This message will self-destruct in 5 seconds … 5 ... 4 … 3 … 2 … 1” |
| body | ## “This message will self-destruct in 5 seconds … 5 ... 4 … 3 … 2 … 1” Most people are familiar with the self-destructing audio tapes, mobile phones etc. from the Impossible Mission films. The idea of self-destructing messages is certainly not new. But how many times did it cross your mind while sending something out that how nice it would be that you could set a time after which the message you sent would simply self-destruct? Launch and forget. The crypto coin project UltraNote (http://ultranote.org) went live a few months ago. Originally it had a messaging feature e.g. you could send an encrypted message along with a crypto coin (XUN) transaction. I though: “Cool, a little bit different than most others. But then what?”. Phase 2 brought with it encrypted attachments to the messaging feature. Now things started to look a lot more interesting. In their latest release the smart developers at UltraNote (XUN) have come up with a solution for the self-destruct. Not only for the messages themselves, but any attachments as well. This concept brings with it a seemingly endless list of possible applications. Let’s look into a few ideas just to scratch the surface of what this new technology can do. For example let’s think about protecting your photos or other digital content. You can send out photos that you want to be sure that only the designated recipient can view and it will be available for download only for a given time that you decide. Think family photos, photos of your children etc. What about business uses? Well renting out videos comes to mind as an obvious use case. If you are a hobbyist photographer you could sell your creative content making sure it can’t be copied and re-distributed. How about a request for quotations – RFQ that you can send out and make self-destruct e.g. expire when the time frame for submissions runs out? Or in a similar manner a contract, work etc. with a deadline for the validity of the offer. Think of applications like: cinema tickets, coupons, special offers, reward points, subscriptions, prescriptions...and then…I guess you have heard about recent issues regarding privacy concerns on various social media platforms, Google among others. They collect your private data and then sell it onwards to marketing companies. How about a secure social media platform around this self-destruct concept? True control of the users own data through encryption and self-destruct. No more Google or social media user content history as you and only you decide when your content expires. I foresee new decentralized social media platforms where this can be offered. This would allow you to really know and control who can access what in your content and provide a convenient expiry date for the content. Think of it: Who really needs - or wants for that matter - to see photos of your new-born baby 3 years later except for yourself and your closest ones. Now you could easily have a public version of that same photo that you show your friends for a few days and then it is conveniently removed. For your close ones you choose to make it available for a little longer. No problem. The platform owner will not be able to use it or sell it. But for yourself it’s available as long as you want. This opens up a very different way of looking at privacy on a public network. Here’s a simple test I did with the self-destructing messages. Please note that these features are still in beta-releases of the UltraNote wallet. ##### 1. _This is the view of the wallet messaging part. Let’s set up a simple message with a photo and send it to another wallet. Add the destination wallet address, write a message, pick a file to attach, tick on the optional self-destruct time-out and pick a delay. Optionally you may choose a higher level of anonymity for the message (this basically routes it through more UltraNote daemons in order to hide the trail). The fee is calculated automatically and in this case is about 2 XUN._ ##### 2._The message is now in the outbox of the sending wallet._ ##### 3._The inbox of the receiving wallet._ ##### 4._Message view._ ##### 5._The attachment has been downloaded fom the blockchain and loaded into an image viewer_ ##### 6._After the self-destruct time-out has been reached the message and it’s attachment are gone._ ##### 7._The message is even removed from the list of transactions. Only some earlier transactions remain visible. This is what the UltraNote developers mean when they say: Privacy at your fingertips. It truly is._ So how much does it cost to use this technology? The sample message with a photo attached costs 2 UltraNote (XUN) to send. As XUN is currently valued at around 31 Satoshis this will set you back a total of under 1 US cent per message – yes you read it right – less than 1 cent per message :-) This amazingly cheap to use technology can become a real everyday tool for many purposes. Let’s summarize: you have control of who can see your messages and for how long and your messages and attachments are protected via encryption. I can’t wait to see what kind of real world applications and use cases will come out based on the technology. |

| title | “This message will self-destruct in 5 seconds … 5 ...
The fee is calculates automatically and in this case is about 2 XUN._ ##### 2._The message is now in the outbox of the sending wallet._ ##### 3._The inbox of the receiving wallet._ ##### 4._Message view._ ##### 5._The attachment has been downloaded fom the blockchain and loaded into an image viewer_ ##### 6._After the self-destruct time-out has been reached the message and it’s attachment are gone._ ##### 7._The message is even removed from the list of transactions. |
