Dibalik suksesnya pembutan Pokemon Go ini ternyata tidaklah sebentar dan mudah, John membutuhkan waktu 20 tahun untuk membuat dan mengembangkan game fenomenal ini.\n\nBerikut adalah kisah sang Founder dalam perjalanannya menciptakan Game Fenomenal Pokemon Go:\n\nTahun 1996 ketika masih menjadi mahasiswa, John menciptakan MMO (massively multiplayer online game) yaitu “Meridian 59”, dia menjual game tersebut kepada 3DO dan kemudian dia mencoba hal yang lebih besar, yaitu pemetaan dunia.\nTahun 2000, John meluncurkan ‘Keyhole’ untuk menghubungkan pemetaan online dengan teknik fotografi udara serta 3D GPS pertama di dunia.\nTahun 2004, Google membeli ‘Keyhole’ dan sekarang kita mengenalnya dengan ‘Google Earth’, sejak saat itu John fokus pada game berbasis GPS.\nJohn bersama timnya menciptakan ‘Google Maps’ dan ‘Google Street View’ pada tahun 2004 – 2010, pada masa tersebut John mengumpulkan timnya dan sekarang menjadi rekannya dalam menciptakan Pokemon Go.\nTahun 2010, John meluncurkan ‘Niantic Labs’, sebagai Start Up yang didanai oleh Google, untuk menciptakan game yang berbasis pada pemetaan /GPS. Niantic adalah nama sebuah kapal penengkap ikan paus.\nTahun 2012, John menciptakan ‘Niantic MMO’ berbasis Geo GPS pertama kali.
