| body | Dennis Kooker of Sony Music is one himself. Think back to who he was before that. If an actress can become a singer, what's wrong with that? Dennis Kooker didn't have the most forward-thinking future and he should have learned from today's female athletes and entertainers. Now every other girl is acting, doing charity work and winning beauty contests. This brings them a lot of money. If Dennis Kooker would have once scrubbed floors and climbed the career ladder, no complaints. But who is he? This is a man who was looking for jobs in the music on https://show4me.com/ and yet was nothing of himself. He had no talent whatsoever, and anyone would give him a head start. |

| title | PITB says E-Rozgar training program’s graduates earned Rs. 2.4 billion while announcing new admissions |
| body | On Thursday, the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) announced that it has started accepting applications for the latest batch of the E-Rozgar training program, held with collaboration between the PITB and the youth affairs and sports department. The program aims to impart digital skills and freelancing training to unemployed youth with at least 16 years of education, free of cost. The E-Rozgar training program, which maintains more than 32 training centers in Punjab, has trained up to 28,000 students until now, with 54% of women who have contributed Rs. 2.4 billion in foreign exchange till now. The following 3-months courses are being offered as part of the program: Content Marketing & Advertising Creative Design E-commerce Freelancing The selection for the E-Rozgar program is, however, subject to the following criteria: Punjab province’s domicile A valid Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) Minimum 16 years of education Maximum age of 35 years. The applicants can apply online at http//www.erozgaar.pitb.gov.pk/apply to participate in an online entry test and to deposit online attested documents at a later stage. The E-Rozgar training program, along with the National Freelance Training Program and the DigiSkills program, comprises a coordinated national effort by the government to establish a knowledge economy as part of the Digital Pakistan vision. The Digital Pakistan 2021 policy, which will support Pakistan’s digital transformation by ensuring affordable and credible digital services to enhance the citizens’ quality of life and economic well-being, is also underway. Efforts to digitize the youth have already begun bearing fruit, with Pakistan’s IT exports all set to cross the $2 billion mark in 2021, with projections to reach $10 billion by 2030. |

| title | IMF approves $500 million tranche for Pakistan after noting “satisfactory progress” |
| body | The International Monetary Fund (IMF) approved a $500 million disbursement to Pakistan for budgetary support after its Executive Board completed delayed reviews of Pakistan’s $6 billion loan program. According to the report published by Business Recorder, IMF Deputy Managing Director Antoinette Sayeh told this in a statement saying the latest payment brought total disbursements under the Extended Fund Facility to $2bn since the program was first approved in July 2019. Pakistan’s 39-month EFF arrangement was approved by the Executive Board on July 3, 2019 for SDR 4.268 billion (about $6 billion at the time of approval of the arrangement, or 210 percent of quota). As per the IMF, the program aims to support Pakistan’s policies to help the economy and save lives and livelihoods amid the still unfolding Covid-19 pandemic, ensure macroeconomic and debt sustainability, and advance structural reforms to lay the foundations for strong, job-rich, and long-lasting growth that benefits all Pakistanis. “The Pakistani authorities have continued to make satisfactory progress under the Fund-supported program, which has been an important policy anchor during an unprecedented period. While the Covid-19 pandemic continues to pose challenges, the authorities’ policies have been critical in supporting the economy and saving lives and livelihoods. The authorities have also continued to advance their reform agenda in key areas, including on consolidating central bank autonomy, reforming corporate taxation, bolstering management of state-owned enterprises, and improving cost recovery and regulation in the power sector,” said IMF Deputy Managing Director Antoinette Sayeh. “Reflecting the challenges from the unfolding pandemic and the authorities’ commitment to the medium-term objectives under the EFF, the policy mix has been recalibrated to strike an appropriate balance between supporting the economy, ensuring debt sustainability, and advancing structural reforms while maintaining social cohesion,” the Managing Director added. “Strong ownership and steadfast reform implementation remain crucial in light of unusually high uncertainty and risks.” The release of this tranche is part of the revival of the $6 billion program that was suspended in April 2020 after Pakistan failed to bring a mini-budget for the readjusting of the economy. |

| title | Slack to fix error in new direct messaging feature over abuse, harassment concerns |
| body | Workplace messaging app Slack Technologies said it was working to fix an error in the direct-messaging feature it introduced earlier on Wednesday, which could have led to relentless online abuse and harassment. The feature enabled users to send direct messages to anyone inside or outside their company through Slack Connect. Users could send an invite to any partner and start messaging as soon as it is accepted, the company said in a blog post. After rolling out the feature, Slack received feedback from users about how email invitations to use the feature could potentially be used to send abusive or harassing messages, Jonathan Prince, vice president of communications and policy at Slack, said in a statement. “We made a mistake in this initial roll-out,” Prince added. The overall concern, first raised by Twitter employee Menotti Minutillo, was that the feature did not have robust opt-out protections for individual users and no way to easily prevent people from spamming you with email invites. That seems benign on the surface; if someone wants to harass you and they have your email address, surely they can just send you a harassing email. But Slack Connect bypasses any filters or inbox protections you may use by sending you an email from its [email protected] address with the DM invite, with the email containing whatever message the sender decided to attach. The company, which is being acquired by Salesforce, said it would be removing the ability to customize a message when a user invites someone to Slack Connect direct messages to address the issue. As companies around the world shift to working from home due to the Covid-19 pandemic, demand for services provided by Slack and Microsoft’s Teams have gained traction as offices conduct meetings remotely. Slack said on Wednesday it planned to soon expand the direct message invitations feature to all teams, including those on free subscriptions. |

| title | Scientists use microscopic robots to carry drugs to the brain for the treatment of tumors |
| body | The medicine’s future will include life-saving drugs that will be parceled, smuggled, and transported in the body via tiny, self-propelled microbots, according to a study published Wednesday in the journal Science Robotics, reports Inverse. According to the details, a research team in China designed a new kind of bio-hybrid microbot that uses clever biological disguises to get even closer to the source of disease in the body in order to provide the most targeted (and effective) treatment. The objective was the treatment of illness epicenters like brain tumors. Zhiguang Wu, an author on the study and a professor at the Harbin Institute of Technology focusing on nanotechnology, says that the new microbots can overcome obstacles that have hindered many more conventional lines of medical treatment. “Such passive diffusion suffers from the long diffusion time, ineffectiveness, and block of biological barriers, which could result in strong side effects,” Wu told Inverse. “The swimming micro/nanorobots, able to navigate into hard-to-reach tissues utilizing their active propulsion, hold considerable expectations for loading various drugs and actively swim toward the diseased sites for targeted drug transportation.” Using a Trojan Horse approach, the team disguised their drug delivery microbot as a white blood cell to sneak by the body’s blood-brain barrier. The development is substantial for cancer treatment because it comes to fighting off cancer, the more targeted the treatment the better, especially brain tumors. Because of the delicate location in the brain, drug treatment can be difficult, and removing the tumor can require dangerous brain surgery. Even then, often only 90 percent of the tumor can actually be removed. Using self-propelled, drug-delivering microbots like these could open a door for scientists to get even more up close and personal when treating tumors than pills or injections have previously allowed — all while being minimally invasive. |

| title | Streaming platforms now account for over 62pc of global music revenues: report |
| body | The global recorded music business grew by 7.4 per cent last year, an industry body said Tuesday, as streaming continued to drive a fast-paced recovery from the doldrums of the piracy era. The return of vinyl continued unabated with sales up 23.5 per cent on the year before, while CDs continued their steady decline, down 11.9 per cent, according to the annual report by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI). But it is streaming – up 19.9 per cent – that has propelled the industry back to growth in the last decade, with overall revenues now at $21.6 billion, close to their level at the turn of the century before the internet began to devastate incomes. Streaming platforms, led by Spotify, Apple, and Deezer, now account for 62.1 per cent of global music revenues, the report said, with some 443 million paying subscribers. Spotify, having recently expanded into the Pakistani market, is looking forward to dominating the music streaming space for years to come. IFPI said a major trend was the growth of global connections, despite pandemic-related travel restrictions. “K-Pop continues to make great strides, of course, but I would argue the most exciting development this year has been how African music and African artists have been embraced by fans worldwide,” said Simon Robson of Warner Music in the report. The African region was included for the first time, with a growth of 8.4 per cent, led by artists such as Burna Boy from Nigeria who picked up a Grammy for best global music album this month. “What’s incredibly exciting is we now see artists from anywhere in the world have the ability to break into any other market in the world,” Dennis Kooker of Sony Music told a press conference for the report. “There are no barriers to entry, no barriers to consumers who want to engage with an artist. It’s as exciting now creatively as I’ve ever seen.“ |

| title | Silicon Valley firms to keep their offices closed despite ease in restrictions |
| body | Seems like big tech firms are in no hurry to open up their offices. Several of San Francisco Bay Area’s largest technology companies including Twitter and Google plan to keep their offices largely closed for months more despite the government allowing them on Tuesday to be opened in a limited capacity. As reported by Rappler, taking into account declining coronavirus infections, San Francisco and Santa Clara counties eased guidelines that had kept most office buildings closed for the last year except to crucial security and support staff. Starting Wednesday, companies are allowed to open up their offices for up to a quarter of their capacity. “San Francisco is going to come alive,” Mayor London Breed told reporters. “When we start to reopen, more and more people are going to want to return to work and want to be around other folks.” But Silicon Valley companies that committed last year to allowing workers to stay home until this summer or indefinitely said that they stood by their timelines. They cited their own analyses of public health data, other safety considerations, and workers’ preferences. Adoption of vaccines, which in California are accessible to only the most vulnerable populations, is also a factor but a smaller one. Networking gear maker Cisco Systems Inc and file-storage service Dropbox Inc said their mandatory work from home policies would remain in effect until June, while Box Inc said its reopening is still scheduled for September. Pinterest is not eyeing a significant reopening until at least August, Alphabet’s Google until September, and DocuSign Inc not before October. Twitter, Adobe, PayPal, Twilio, Yelp, and Zoom also will stay closed despite what Breed and other local government officials described as a move to the “orange tier” from the “red tier” of California lockdown restrictions. Breed’s spokesman Jeff Cretan said San Francisco officials expect smaller and mid-sized companies to be the first to return. |

| title | Intel to spend $20 billion on chip plants in bid to challenge Asian rivals |
| body | Intel Corp is serious about dominating the chip manufacturing industry and ward off the intense competition from Asian rivals. The company’s new chief executive announced plans to splurge as much as $20 billion to build two factories in Arizona and to open up its factories to outside customers. As reported by Reuters, the move by CEO Pat Gelsinger on Tuesday aims to restore Intel’s reputation after manufacturing delays sent shares plunging last year. The strategy will directly challenge the two other companies in the world that can make the most advanced chips, Taiwan’s Semiconductor Manufacturing Co Ltd (TSMC) and Korea’s Samsung. Intel is one of the few remaining semiconductor companies that both designs and manufactures its own chips. Rival chip designers such as Qualcomm Inc and Apple Inc rely on contract manufacturers. In an interview with Reuters, Gelsinger said Intel has “fully resolved” its problems with its most recent manufacturing technology and is “all systems go” on chips for 2023. It now plans a massive manufacturing expansion. That will include spending $20 billion on two new factories at an existing campus in Chandler, Arizona, that will create 3,000 permanent jobs. Intel will then work on future sites in the United States and in Europe, Gelsinger said. Intel will use those factories to make its own chips but also open them to outside customers in what is called a “foundry” business model in the chip industry. Gelsinger said the new factories will be focused on cutting-edge computing chip manufacturing, rather than the older or specialty technologies that some manufacturers such as GlobalFoundries specialize in. “We are absolutely committed to leading process technology capabilities at scale for the industry, and for our customers,” Gelsigner said, adding that Intel has lined up customers for the new factories but could not disclose their names. |

| title | NASA planning a test flight for Ingenuity prototype helicopter over Mars |
| body | NASA is set to launch a test flight for their prototype helicopter called ‘Ingenuity’ for the first time in the next month. The agency mentioned that it plans to oversee the test flight by April 8th. Ingenuity made its way to Mars attached to NASA’s Perseverance rover which successfully landed on the surface of the red planet on February 18th. Perseverance will deploy Ingenuity in a 33-by-33 foot stretch of terrain within the Jezero Crater NASA has selected for its flatness. The entire process will take about six days to complete, with one step of the procedure involving a pyrotechnic cable-cutting device. Once the Ingenuity is deployed it will carefully back away from the helicopter to give its solar cells the chance to recharge hence completing the overall test flight. Farah Alibay, a systems engineer at Jet Propulsion Laboratory, added that this type of deployment had never been done before. Once everything is executed smoothly, Ingenuity’s first test flight will see it hover about 10 feet off the surface of the planet for 30 seconds. So far, NASA has only had a chance to fly Ingenuity here back on Earth, where it has tested it inside vacuum chambers and labs. Though there are numerous obstacles one of them being the temperature of the planet for robots where the temperature drops as low as minus 130 degrees Fahrenheit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0RQWv1ybsjM&feature=emb_logo According to MiMi Aung, Project Manager for Ingenuity at JPL: “Mars is hard. Our plan is to work whatever the Red Planet throws at us the very same way we handled every challenge we’ve faced over the past six years – together, with tenacity and a lot of hard work, and a little Ingenuity.” |

| title | Elon Musk says people can now buy a Tesla vehicle using bitcoin |
| body | Tesla chief Elon Musk said on Wednesday the company’s electric vehicles can now be bought using bitcoin and the option will be available outside the United States later this year. “You can now buy a Tesla with bitcoin,” he tweeted on Wednesday, adding that bitcoin paid to Tesla will not be converted into conventional currency. A support page on Tesla’s website explains how customers can pay for a Tesla using the digital currency. The company’s electric vehicles typically cost between $37,990 and $124,000 before tax. The electric-car maker had last month said it bought $1.5 billion of bitcoin and would soon accept it as a form of payment for cars, sending the price of the world’s most popular cryptocurrency soaring. Musk, who has been promoting cryptocurrencies through his Twitter account, had last month criticized conventional cash, saying when it “has negative real interest, only a fool wouldn’t look elsewhere.” He had said that the difference with cash made it “adventurous enough” for the S&P 500 company to hold the cryptocurrency. Daniel Ives, an analyst at Wedbush, said in a research note Wednesday that his firm wasn’t expecting Tesla to start accepting bitcoin payments until the second half of this year. “This is a seminal moment for Tesla and for the crypto world with Musk now cutting the red ribbon on Bitcoin transactions within he broader Tesla ecosystem,” said Ives. “We expect less than 5% of transactions to be through bitcoin over the next 12 to 18 months however this could move higher over time as crypto acceptance starts to ramp over the coming years.” Following Tesla’s investment in bitcoin, several companies, including Uber and Twitter had shared their views on the cryptocurrency. Uber Chief Executive Dara Khosrowshahi said the ride-hailing company discussed and “quickly dismissed” the idea of investing in bitcoin. However, he added that Uber could potentially accept the cryptocurrency as payment. Twitter had said earlier it was still undecided in holding bitcoin, while General Motors Co said it will evaluate whether bitcoin can be accepted as payment for its vehicles. Tesla recently made waves on social media platforms and among the crowd of Musk fans by granting its chief executive the grand title of “Technoking of Tesla”. |

| title | Scientists aim to safeguard the DNA of all Earth life on the moon as a backup |
| body | Scientists want to store the DNA of 6.7 million of Earth’s species on a lunar ark as a backup option. The so-called lunar ark could preserve the sperm, eggs, and seeds of millions of Earth’s species, which scientists have proposed. The ark, or gene bank, would be safely hidden in the hollowed-out tunnels and caves sculpted by lava more than 3 billion years ago and would be powered by solar panels, reports Live Science. It would hold the cryogenically preserved genetic material of all 6.7 million known species of plants, animals, and fungi on Earth. It would require at least 250 rocket launches to reach the moon, according to the researchers. Scientists believe the endeavor could safeguard our planet’s wildlife against both natural and human-caused apocalyptic scenarios. The scientists presented their lunar ark plans at the IEEE Aerospace Conference. “We have a responsibility to be guardians of biodiversity and the means to preserve it.”, lead author Jekan Thanga, head of the Space and Terrestrial Robotic Exploration (SpaceTREx) Laboratory at the University of Arizona, told Live Science. Not all the technology needed for this ambitious project exists yet, but the researchers think it could be built within the next 30 years, Thanga said. The main motivation behind the lunar ark is to create a secure off-world storage facility for biodiversity. “I like to use the data analogy,” Thanga said. “It’s like copying your photos and documents from your computer onto a separate hard drive, so you have a backup if anything goes wrong.” Therefore, if an apocalyptic event destroyed the natural world or wiped out most of humanity, there would be a chance to “hit a reset button,” Thanga said. In their presentation, the researchers listed the following as potential existential threats to biodiversity on Earth: Supervolcanic eruption, global nuclear war, asteroid impact, pandemic, climate change acceleration, global solar storm, and global drought. “The environment and human civilization are both very fragile,” Thanga said. “There are many of these really tragic circumstances that could happen.” Source: Live Science |

| title | YouTube is testing automatic product detection in videos |
| body | YouTube is notoriously fond of testing interesting features and running experiments. One of its latest experiments involves testing an automated list of products detected in videos uploaded to the site. As reported by 9to5Google, an early version of this feature was tested with a very small subset of YouTube users midway through 2020, but it looks as though it is being expanded further for those viewing content in the US. It’s not clear just how it will look, as the initial rollout of “Products in this Video” proved to be very small, to the point that there are little to no examples of it in action online. This time around, in one of its blogs, a YouTube representative has given a little more detail about how this particular feature will be deployed: “Testing automated list of products detected in videos: We are experimenting with a new feature that displays a list of products detected in some videos, as well as related products. The feature will appear in between the recommended videos, to viewers scrolling below the video player. The goal is to help people explore more videos and information about those products on YouTube. This feature will be visible to people watching videos in the US.” Right beneath the main YouTube player, you’ll get a list of any products feature with related content for each item prominently displayed. The 9to5Google report believes that this could appear like a banner advert, but with more interactive elements. However, rather than taking you off YouTube, you’ll see videos from other channels and creators that have showcased things auto-detected within the initial video. This might work almost as a secondary recommendation tool, which complements the recommended videos section that appears to the right of the main video player. The YouTube algorithm already does a fairly solid job of auto-detecting just what content you’ve been watching and serving up related videos, but this feels more aimed toward the kind of content that people watch as pre-research before making a purchase. If expanded further, the ability to auto-detect products within YouTube will give it a portion of the same shopping space occupied by platforms like Instagram, and it will also give Google an additional revenue stream. YouTube hasn’t specified just what platforms this will be available upon, simply stating that it “will be visible to people watching videos in the US.” |

| title | Apple to cough up almost $310mn for patent infringement |
| body | A federal jury in Texas said Apple must pay about $308.5 million to Personalized Media Communications (PMC) for infringing a patent associated with digital rights management (DRM), according to a report published by Bloomberg. The jurors late on Friday directed Apple to pay a running royalty to PMC, which is generally based on the amount of sales of a product or service. Apple has appealed the ruling. PMC, a licensing firm, had originally sued Apple in 2015, claiming the tech giant infringed seven of its patents. The lawsuit relates to FairPlay, a DRM technology, which Apple uses to encrypt and decrypt digital content and software including books, audio books, TV programs, movies, and music. Apple successfully challenged PMC’s case at the US patent office, but an appeals court in March last year reversed that decision, paving the way for the trial. In 2013, PMC was granted a patent entitled “Signal Processing Apparatus and Methods,” which detailed methods of encrypting and decrypting digital content. The 2015 lawsuit alleges that Apple had known about PMC’s patents and that the two companies had held a series of meetings discussing how PMC’s patents could be applied to Apple’s products and services, including FairPlay. Apple then infringed on this patent when creating its own DRM technology, according the lawsuit. One part of PMC’s patent outlined a method of decrypting programming, and the lawsuit alleges that Apple used exactly the same method to decrypt software on devices including iPhones and Macs. This is “irreparably” harming PMC, the lawsuit said. The lawsuit said that not only did Apple infringe the patent. but that it also induced “its customers and the general public to commit infringing acts.” The lawsuit sought injunctive relief to prevent Apple from continuing to infringe PMC’s patents, as well as a recovery of monetary damages resulting from Apple’s infringement. The lawsuit said that the FairPlay technology plays a “critical” roles in Apple’s sales and distribution of digital content and “is essential to the commercial success of Defendant’s product ecosystem.” The iPhone maker did not immediately respond to Reuters’ request for comment, but told Bloomberg that it was disappointed with the ruling and would appeal. “Cases like this, brought by companies that don’t make or sell any products, stifle innovation and ultimately harm consumers,” Apple told Bloomberg. Sugarland, Texas-based PMC has infringement cases pending against companies including Netflix, Alphabet’s Google, and Amazon. |

| title | Tesla cars have been banned from China’s military complexes for security reasons |
| body | The Chinese military has banned Tesla cars from entering its complexes, citing security concerns over cameras installed on the vehicles. According to sources who talked to Reuters, the move is the latest sign of China’s growing scrutiny of the US electric carmaker amid tensions with Washington. Analysts said it resembled Washington’s measures against Chinese telecom firm Huawei citing national security. Chinese military restrictions on Tesla surfaced as senior Chinese and US officials held a contentious meeting in Alaska, the first such interaction since US President Joe Biden took office. “I presume the timing of the announcement surely linked to the fireworks planned for Anchorage,” said Ian Bremmer, president at Eurasia Group consulting firm. Tesla shares ended up 0.3% after falling as much as 4.4% during a trade. The US electric car maker won strong backing from Shanghai when it built its first overseas factory there in 2019. Tesla’s sleek Model 3 sedans were the best-selling electric vehicle in the country before being overtaken by a much cheaper micro EV. The directive advises owners to park Teslas outside the military property, and residents were notified this week, the two sources said, declining to be named due to the sensitivity of the issue. Pavel Molchanov, an analyst at Raymond James & Associates, said the latest restrictions on Tesla were a close parallel to the US government’s hostility toward Huawei on concerns Beijing could have access to US telecom infrastructure. “Even if such concern is exaggerated, it can create dislocation for the companies directly affected,” he said. Separately, the Wall Street Journal reported that China’s government was restricting the use of Tesla cars by personnel at military, state-owned enterprises in sensitive industries, and key agencies. It was not immediately clear whether the measure applied to all such facilities. The move came after a government security review of Tesla’s vehicles, the report said, citing people familiar with the effort. Tesla sold 147,445 cars in China last year, or 30% of its total deliveries, though the competition is growing from domestic rivals such as Nio Inc and Geely. China’s State Council Information Office and Tesla did not immediately respond to requests for comment. |

| title | Pakistan’s IT exports maintain growth of 40% over 8 months |
| body | Pakistan’s IT sector has remained impressive throughout the current financial year, with consistent growth of above 40 percent in exports between July 2020 and February 2021. According to data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the export of IT and IT-enabled services had surged to $1.298 billion during July and February of the financial year 2020-21 as compared with the values of last financial year that had stood at $918 million. This shows an increase of $380 million or 41.2 percent, year-on-year. The growth in exports has mainly been driven by the high demand for automation, e-commerce, software development, and other services of foreign clients who now prefer to place orders with Pakistani IT companies instead of other countries including India and the Philippines. Industry experts have projected $2 billion worth of exports of the IT sector this year while considering the penetration of the local companies in various exportable countries in the different fields of the sector. However, the local industry is fearful of being taxed heavily by the revenue collection authority, which may destabilize the prevailing trends of growth in the IT industry and its expansion. The industry also fears being taxed as the government is mulling over the possible withdrawal of the tax exemption in the upcoming budget. It is demanding that the industry should be taxed duly after it achieves a sustainable level of maturity with a solid contribution to the economy. "title": "Pakistan’s IT exports maintain growth of 40% over 8 months",
"body": "Pakistan’s IT sector has remained impressive throughout the current financial year, with consistent growth of above 40 percent in exports between July 2020 and February 2021.\n\nAccording to data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the export of IT and IT-enabled services had surged to $1.298 billion during July and February of the financial year 2020-21 as compared with the values of last financial year that had stood at $918 million. This shows an increase of $380 million or 41.2 percent, year-on-year.\n\nThe growth in exports has mainly been driven by the high demand for automation, e-commerce, software development, and other services of foreign clients who now prefer to place orders with Pakistani IT companies instead of other countries including India and the Philippines.\n\nIndustry experts have projected $2 billion worth of exports of the IT sector this year while considering the penetration of the local companies in various exportable countries in the different fields of the sector.\n\nHowever, the local industry is fearful of being taxed heavily by the revenue collection authority, which may destabilize the prevailing trends of growth in the IT industry and its expansion.\n\nThe industry also fears being taxed as the government is mulling over the possible withdrawal of the tax exemption in the upcoming budget. It is demanding that the industry should be taxed duly after it achieves a sustainable level of maturity with a solid contribution to the economy.\n\nThe growth in the IT exports sector will strengthen the industry and facilitate the maintenance of the current account in surplus and the generation of employment for hundreds of skilled professionals.\n",

| title | Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey's First Tweet Sold for $2.9 Million as an NFT |
| body | Twitter boss Jack Dorsey sold his first tweet as an NFT for just over $2.9 million (roughly Rs. 20 crore). The tweet is in the form of a non-fungible token (NFT). The tweet is in the form of a NFT - a kind of unique digital asset that has exploded in popularity so far in 2021. Each NFT has its own blockchain-based digital signature, which serves as a public ledger, allowing anyone to verify the asset's authenticity and ownership. The NFT was sold via auction on a platform called Valuables, which is owned by the US-based company Cent. It was bought using the cryptocurrency Ether, for 1630.5825601 ETH, which was worth $2,915,835.47 (roughly Rs. 21 crore) at the time of sale, Cameron Hejazi, the CEO and co-founder of Cent confirmed. Cent confirmed the buyer is Sina Estavi. Estavi's Twitter profile, @sinaEstavi, says he is based in Malaysia and is CEO of the blockchain company Bridge Oracle. Estavi told Reuters he was "thankful" when asked for comment about the purchase. On March 6, Dorsey, who is a Bitcoin enthusiast, tweeted a link to the website where the NFT was listed for sale. He then said in another tweet on March 9 that he would convert the proceeds from the auction into Bitcoin and donate them to people impacted by COVID-19 in Africa. Dorsey receives 95 percent of the proceeds of the primary sale, while Cent receives 5 percent. Cent CEO Cameron Hejazi said that his platform allows people to show support for a tweet that goes beyond the current options to like, comment and retweet. "These assets might go up in value, they might go down in value, but what will stay is the ledger and the history of 'I purchased this from you at this moment in time' and that's going to be in both the buyer, the seller and the public spectators' memory," Hejazi said, adding that this was "inherently valuable." |
