Besides, we use service-worker to cash the resources on the users’ gadgets;\n\n**4.** Make sure that only the necessary styles and scripts are being loaded, e.g. only those that are needed as a result of a user’s interaction with the website;\n\n**5.** We use Content Delivery Network (CDN) as the data warehouse for our company’s web page, it speeds up the TTI and FCP indicators.\n\nAt the moment we are still experimenting with various approaches in order to improve our PageSpeed indicator. One of the last things we tested was transferring our website completely from WordPress to JAM Stack. What has changed? Before the server had been working (generating pages) each time a request was executed, and with JAM Stack, already on the building stage, we generate static pages and put them in a CDN “folder”. Therefore, when a user is accessing our website, he immediately gets those static pages we have generated beforehand. In a nutshell, instead of generating 100 times the same page over and over again, wasting resources and time, we use one generated page per 100 analogous requests.\n\n \n\nWe haven’t finished transferring the whole website to JAM Stack yet, thus, we are still waiting for some nice PageSpeed results to appear. There are too many things that influence this choice. Should you hire Java developers or PHP developers? How big the budget should be? What are the support conditions? Today we will talk about two popular programming languages that are often used for backend of web applications – Java and PHP.\n\nThe choice isn’t that simple, developers all over the world have always been arguing on the best web development language! That’s why today we are going to compare these two languages pointing out their pros and cons. Let’s begin!\n\n## Java\n– **It’s heavy.** In many ways. Almost every Java web project has a longer code than its PHP analog. By the way, this is one of the reasons why Java has relatively high system requirements. With PHP you can accomplish any task in a dozen different ways. At first it seems to be really awesome, but eventually, PHP’s greatest blessing is also its greatest curse. If you ask ten different PHP programmers to complete the same task, you will get ten different results. And quite often they’ll be significantly different. What’s so bad about it? Well, imagine a situation when a programmer is working on a really big web application, and then suddenly leaves the project because of some hypothetical reasons. Certainly, you have to find someone to replace him. And this is where the problems begin. It’s a common situation for PHP when a programmer can’t understand what he wrote himself, but we want anyone else to understand it! It is really hard to write “correct” PHP code.
