Peer pressures of various sorts from friends and family that nudge us to like some thing or see things a certain way. Influence can be positive or negative. I'm totally in favor of when it is used in a positive manner but it is well known that many people get their ideas and world view from their television. Add in the influence of Hollywood films, tv shows, and publications and you have a recipe for ideals that are not organic.\n\nTake for instance beauty. Beauty is something that sits in the eye of the beholder. The beholder is YOU! It's subjective, and can differ from one person to the next.\n\nFashion magazines and media have sold us the ideal of what constitutes as beauty when it comes to the look and shape of a woman. Usually slender with the right proportions but keep in mind that this is someone else's ideal.       "body": "They say 'Men are creatures of habit' and a lot of other things but men, even with all their logic and reason are still easily manipulated. \n\nInfluence and the hidden hand at work is not a subject many men talk about or are interested in. As the saying goes, 'it is easier to fool someone than to convince them they've been fooled' because hey, no one wants to be the fool, right? Not willingly that is, although damn near once a week if not everyday, through the media we are made aware of some trickery, some scheme, some new scam or to simply tell us that what we believed to be true before was never really true at all.\n\nOne of my favorite interest of late is cataloging and archiving instances of manipulation, influence, deception and how it works because, when I was asleep, I was drifting along like a dead fish downstream. Now since waking up and taking the 'red pill' as they call it, it feels like I'm going against the grain. I can see it, yet others around me cannot. \n\nHow is this so? The answer to that question is a very long and highly detailed answer. I've sought that answer and found it. When I speak with others, if it relates, I share it with them. Whether they take interest in it as I have or not, the answers go with them, even if out the other ear. lol\n\nI bring this up because men should know about manipulation and influence. How it works and how to pull themselves from under it's spell. For the man who wants power over himself and his organic mind back, this is a subject that must be studied and looked into further. There's talk of facebook entering the cryptocurrency and blockchain market. \n\nIs this exciting news? Depends on who you ask. I will tell you Yes and No. \n\nYes for the adoption of the blockchain technology and cryptocurrency but No for who's behind it.\n\nPrivately, I've always told others that it will be the end for facebook when they get around to paying people for their user generated content. They will offer to pay as a last ditch effort to stem the tide of people leaving. Every day, more and more are becoming conscious of their privacy and in valuing it curtail their sharing to sharing less. Eventually, as in my case this will go from sharing less to not sharing at all.\n\nFacebook has left many with a bad taste in their mouths due to multiple privacy violations and outright abuse with their social experiments. I would also add for those who enjoy news and information, their constant tweaking of the news feed algorithm which has now been weaponized to filter and censor content that doesn't align with their agenda is one more straw too many.\n\nFor the record, I do not get news from facebook. I like to gather my news outside of facebook. It does not interest me to know what my friends are reading about as I have interest of my own and follow them. Facebook's constant steering and manipulation are also huge turn offs and like any conscientious objector, I do not agree and therefore do not use.\n\nI propose that the only way for facebook to keep people on it's platform from this point forward, is to pay them to stay there. I think it's a little late as I see the trend of more people leaving.\n\nAs for dating, facebook is no different than older messenger services as it's not specifically geared for dating but can be a highly effective tool for arranging dates and meeting new people. I don't have a problem with this.
