| title | Best boating destinations in the world - best places to visit |
| body | Coming up with a great summer vacation plan can be hard, especially if you're not sure where to go. To make it easier for you, we've rounded up the best destinations for boaters all around the world! So buckle your seatbelt and get ready for a good time 🙂
What do you need for boating?
Generally, you'll need to equip your boat with all the latest safety equipment. This includes lifejackets, alarms, flares and an easy to use radio that can reach lifeguards or other boats in the area. If you're the kind of person who even likes to bring a pet along when you go boating, be sure to have a place for them so they don't fall overboard! If you're planning on cruising the open seas, even if it's just for a day or two, you'll also want to make sure that your boat has all the right navigational equipment. This includes charts, binoculars, [compasses](https://www.businessinsider.com/best-compass), [GPS systems](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_Positioning_System) and all the other tools that will help keep you safe while out on the water. If you're not quite sure what your boat needs in terms of safety equipment or navigational devices, give us a call at Boat Ed! Our boating experts can help you figure out everything that's needed before you hit the water.
The list of best places to visit by boat
Ha Long Bay in Vietnam You'll want to visit the stunning limestone islands that make up this place, and if you're a history buff you'll probably be interested in exploring the French-colonial architecture on some of these islands. If not, don't worry—you can still enjoy some great seafood while taking in the sights! The Fjords of Norway Are you into exploring? Then this is the place for you! You can find plenty of Viking history and plenty of interesting things to see here—and with the spectacular scenery it'll be hard not fall head-over-heels with this tourist haven! Lake Geneva in Switzerland This is an easy place to reach from Paris or Zurich, and offers beautiful views of the Alps as well as a rich history that makes it worth exploring. If you want to stay awhile Lake Geneva also has plenty of hotels and quaint bed-and-breakfasts available nearby. Cinque Terre in Italy The best boating destination in Italy is easily this little stretch of the Mediterranean. The towns of Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia and Manarola are all great places to visit, but they're also a big draw in their own right! There's a lot to see and do here in this small area—and it's a perfect place for a relaxing vacation. Barrier Reef in Australia Boaters will love this place because there are plenty of places where you can stop your boat and take some amazing photos. But it's also one of the best places on Earth with marine life you won't find anywhere else! Bora Bora in French Polynesia This luxe destination is as beautiful as it is relaxing. If you're looking for a place where you can practice your watersport skills without having to worry about anything else, this is the perfect tourist haven! The Black Sea in Turkey You'll be blown away by how much fun you can have in and around the water here, and that's before we even mention the wonderful seafood! If you've never been to Turkey before maybe it's time to change that… Laguna Beach, California This little resort is a great place for boaters who are looking for something simple and relaxing. The biggest attractions here are the wonderful beaches, which offer spectacular views of the east coast—and that's it! Niagara Falls, New York This is an easily accessible destination, and it's a great place to stop and get a few drinks and refuel if you're on either your way up or down the East Coast. And while you're here you can also get some of the most spectacular views of the falls that you'll ever see! The Florida Keys Boaters looking for a great place to get away will love this place. You can dock your boat at any number of these islands for just a little while or even longer, and enjoy the clear water and nice fishing in the area. Big Sur in California This is a little bit off the beaten path, but it's still a beautiful area that boaters will love! You can also enjoy some relaxing time with your crew and get away from everything else for awhile. Lake Como in Italy If you're looking for someplace to rent a boat, this is an excellent choice! It's also one of the most beautiful lakes in the world, so if you love taking photos you'll probably want to spend most of your time here. Altinkum-Bolavik in Turkey If you want to stay awhile Lake Geneva also has plenty of hotels and quaint bed-and-breakfasts available nearby. If you're looking for a great boating destination, then the top thirteen destinations on this list are perfect for you. They're ideal spots to get away from it all and relax while enjoying the great outdoors. If you're a history buff, these places also offer plenty of great views and opportunities to explore—so you can learn about the various historical landmarks and monuments that make these tourist havens so incredible! Have fun and be safe out there! |

This includes lifejackets, alarms, flares and an easy to use radio that can reach lifeguards or other boats in the area. If you're the kind of person who even likes to bring a pet along when you go boating, be sure to have a place for them so they don't fall overboard!\n\nIf you're planning on cruising the open seas, even if it's just for a day or two, you'll also want to make sure that your boat has all the right navigational equipment. Our boating experts can help you figure out everything that's needed before you hit the water.\n\n
The list of best places to visit by boat
\n\nHa Long Bay in Vietnam\n\nYou'll want to visit the stunning limestone islands that make up this place, and if you're a history buff you'll probably be interested in exploring the French-colonial architecture on some of these islands. If not, don't worry—you can still enjoy some great seafood while taking in the sights!\n\nThe Fjords of Norway\n\nAre you into exploring? Then this is the place for you! You can find plenty of Viking history and plenty of interesting things to see here—and with the spectacular scenery it'll be hard not fall head-over-heels with this tourist haven!\n\nLake Geneva in Switzerland\n\nThis is an easy place to reach from Paris or Zurich, and offers beautiful views of the Alps as well as a rich history that makes it worth exploring. If you want to stay awhile Lake Geneva also has plenty of hotels and quaint bed-and-breakfasts available nearby.\n\n\nCinque Terre in Italy\n\nThe best boating destination in Italy is easily this little stretch of the Mediterranean. Located 2,430 meters above sea level in the Andes mountains, Machu Picchu is one of South America’s most popular tourist attractions and UNESCO’s list of World Heritage Sites since 1983. The Incas built Machu Picchu as a holy place of worship and an administrative site for their ruling family. It was then used as an imperial retreat by the Spanish until 1911, only to be rediscovered by the American Hiram Bingham on his visit to Peru. Angkor Wat (Angkor Thom), Cambodia As one of Southeast Asia’s most important archaeological sites, Angkor Wat is situated in Siem Reap province roughly 120 kilometers northwest of the capital city of Phnom Penh on the banks of the mighty Tonle Sap River. The temple was built during the 12th century and is well-known for its exceptional architecture and unique devotion to early Hinduism. Angkor Wat is also one of the world’s largest religious monuments and has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1992. Angkor Wat is dedicated to the God Vishnu, depicted in Kings Bayon. The epicenter of this religious complex lies in the central sanctuary, which contains a 1000-year-old lingam (phallic image) representing Karttikeya, the Hindu deity of war. Also known as Devata, he is very popular in Cambodia. The lingam is located under a tiered tower of four elements: earth, water, fire, and wind. The temple is surrounded by a moat and can be reached via a number of stone bridges. Great Barrier Reef, Australia The Great Barrier Reef is the world’s largest coral reef system and a major tourist destination in Australia. Construction was started in 1631 by Shah Jahan and lasted 20 years before being completed by his son Aurangzeb after Shah Jhan’s death. If you’re looking for a unique place to honeymoon, Niagara Falls is a unique place to get married. Niagara Falls is widely known as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World and for good reason. This waterfall occurs on the Niagara River, which bisects the United States and Canada. Spanning about 3,150 feet (980 m) in height and 2,200 feet (670 m) wide at its base--the flow rate is about one million-acre-feet per day! To put this figure into perspective: That's enough water to fill Lake Michigan every three days! The physical geography of Niagara Falls has been changed by centuries of prevailing winds and ice sheets. It created a natural crescent, with Lake Ontario forming its topmost edge. The Niagara Gorge, which was carved into the hard silica-rich rock by the waterfall over millions of years, is about 6,600 feet (2,000 m) deep. The force of Niagara Falls creates mist which evaporates at ground level, creating a slight rain effect in all directions around it. To onlookers upwind of the falls, this creates the illusion of an enormous cloud hovering in the air--"the smoke"--a phenomenon with which many people are familiar! The touristic infrastructure surrounding Niagara Falls (along with its international popularity) create a nearly constant hum in the air around it. Chiang Mai, Thailand Chiang Mai is a beautiful city in northern Thailand that provides plenty of unique experiences for visitors from around the world. Located 2,430 meters above sea level in the Andes mountains, Machu Picchu is one of South America’s most popular tourist attractions and UNESCO’s list of World Heritage Sites since 1983.\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Incas built Machu Picchu as a holy place of worship and an administrative site for their ruling family. The ruins were first discovered by the Spanish, who used it as a hideout for their soldiers. It was then used as an imperial retreat by the Spanish until 1911, only to be rediscovered by the American Hiram Bingham on his visit to Peru.\n\n Angkor Wat (Angkor Thom), Cambodia\nAs one of Southeast Asia’s most important archaeological sites, Angkor Wat is situated in Siem Reap province roughly 120 kilometers northwest of the capital city of Phnom Penh on the banks of the mighty Tonle Sap River. The temple was built during the 12th century and is well-known for its exceptional architecture and unique devotion to early Hinduism. Angkor Wat is also one of the world’s largest religious monuments and has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1992.\n\n\n\n\n\nAngkor Wat is dedicated to the God Vishnu, depicted in Kings Bayon.
