| body | Cardano (ADA) is all set to enforce its mark in the smart contracts and Dapp development community. Recently, Charles Hoskinson of IOHK, who is also the founder of Cardano (ADA) mentioned in an interview that Cardano (ADA) will be bigger than Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) in a year’s time. Cardano along with its South Korean partner, Metaps Plus seems eager to establish its foothold in Asian and African markets. Cardano Foundation, which looks after interests of the Cardano (ADA) Project, has been actively working in target markets to register Cardano and ADA trademarks. The Foundation believes that Cardano (ADA) will continue to exist at least for the next 50 years. While Ethereum (ETH) was the only popular smart contracts platform in 2017, the landscape has changed completely in 2018 with the evolution of new projects that held their ICOs in 2017. Those projects, with Cardano (ADA) at their forefront have piqued curiosity of blockchain investors who are increasingly investing in smart contracts platforms. The other popular projects are EOS (EOS) and TRON (TRX) both of which are also in the top 10 list of cryptocurrencies, with Cardano (ADA) ranked at 7th place, EOS (EOS) at 5th place and Tron (TRX) at 10th place in terms of market cap. The growing interest in smart contracts platform has led many to believe that Coinbase might be listing these three cryptocurrencies during its next listing session. Coinbase seems to have changed its business model by focusing more on sophisticated investment vehicles rather than individual cyptocurrencies. However, the company did announce that it will be listing some cryptocurrencies in the near future. There is a high likelihood that Cardano (ADA), EOS (EOS) and Tron (TRX) will be the first ones to be listed. Given the recent pressure from its rival, Robinhood and investors increasingly threatening to leave Coinbase for Robinhood, Coinbase might be forced to make that announcement sooner rather than later. Cardano Chart With Values Cardano (ADA) has continued to perform well both against USD and Bitcoin (BTC). The cryptocurrency seems to be trading in a well established bullish channel and is currently in a phase of consolidation as uncertainty prevails in the crypto markets. ADA/BTC chart shows that the price of Cardano (ADA) has once again reached the bottom of the channel presenting a good buy opportunity. On the ADA/USD chart, the price seems to be trading in an inverse falling wedge which seems poised for another run up in the near future. The support line seems to have hold strongly since the correction in Dec 2017. Previously achieved target of $1 seems to be a well defined psychological barrier which will result in significant profit taking. However, positive Bitcoin (BTC) impetus has the potential to push the price past $1 target by the end of the year. As long as Bitcoin(BTC) remains in a consolidation phase, Cardano (ADA) will likely trade in the lowest bullish channel of the pitchfork fractal for the next couple of weeks. |

Given the recent pressure from its rival, Robinhood and investors increasingly threatening to leave Coinbase for Robinhood, Coinbase might be forced to make that announcement sooner rather than later.\n\nCardano Chart With Values\n\nCardano (ADA) has continued to perform well both against USD and Bitcoin (BTC). As long as Bitcoin(BTC) remains in a consolidation phase, Cardano (ADA) will likely trade in the lowest bullish channel of the pitchfork fractal for the next couple of weeks.",

| body | This is a longer term buy trade. Since the pullback we have seen off the 10,000 level the price has essentially been range bound with Bitcoin, and this is reflected in the Monthly Pivot Price. However, we can be confident in the support levels. // -- Discuss and ask questions in our community on Workplace. You can see the Monthly Pivot Range low was key support, tested twice over the last week and not only held the level but showed 2 hammer candles, which are signs of a bottoming. We must wait for confirmation however before going long. This will increase our chances of success if we buy on strength. Using the Daily chart we will want to buy on a close above the Weekly Pivot Range high level. Place the stop loss just below the Weekly Pivot low and the Hammer candle low. Set the profit targets stated below. Entry Price: 8862 Stop Loss: 8080 Profit Targets: First profit target 9960. Second profit target 10120. Once price reaches 9350 raise the stop loss to breakeven. Then if the market follows through to higher levels manage the trade by trailing a stop loss 400 points behind until second profit target is reached or stopped out. |

| body | China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has released its official cryptocurrency ratings. The “domestic experts” awarded Ethereum 1st and Bitcoin 13th out of 28 places May 17. As online cryptocurrency news account cnLedger reports quoting local media outlet China Electronics News (CEN), the Chinese government’s top five cryptocurrencies begin with Ethereum, followed by Steem, Lisk, NEO and Komodo. 1/ Public blockchain ratings by China's ministry is out: #Ethereum ranks top of the 28 cryptos evaluated Source (in Chinese): https://t.co/9jStIiFKcc — cnLedger (@cnLedger) May 17, 2018 The first tranche of ratings involved 28 cryptocurrencies, with Beijing’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology looking to expand the series to include public blockchain projects and more crypto assets. The scheme only came to light earlier this month when the Ministry announced it at a Beijing conference. “First-rate domestic experts and scholars” contributed to the ratings, which they calculated on the basis of three indexes: “technology,” “application” and “innovation.” Ethereum scored highly across all three, giving it a lead rating which echoes its first place in Weiss’ cryptocurrency ratings from January this year. Conversely, Bitcoin appeared lacking in the “technology” and “application” fields, despite beating every other crypto asset in “innovation.” “The results show that the typical representative of the second-generation blockchain technology is Ethereum's technology assessment index,” CEN wrote. Responding on Twitter, commentators nonetheless found it difficult to understand China’s logic, the mood similar to the uproar which ensued as Weiss gave Bitcoin a ‘C+.’ |

| body | The markets are a bit healthy with the ongoing Consensus Summit in New York that is ongoing. The event is a three day summit starting today and ending on the 16th. With respect to the market response to this event, Bitcoin (BTC) is inching closer to $9,000 levels and currently trading at $8,820. Ethereum (ETH) has found a footing above $700 and is currently trading at $736. Ripple is also doing well and is currently trading at $0.75. With the market showing a good response to the summit, the total market capitalization has increased by $20 Billion in less than 12 hours and is currently at $410.23 Billion. With respect to Zilliqa (ZIL), the token is experiencing a slight decline of 5.61% in 24 hours and currently trading at $0.1675. But this is fine. Less than a month ago, the same ZIL was valued at $0.037. The current value is a good 352% increment from this value. We are also forgetting to mention that ZIL had recently peaked at the wonderful level of $0.231 only 4 days ago. When you compare it with the $0.037, this is a cool 524% increment in a period that is a little over a month. So what is driving the value of this token off the roof? To start with, the Zilliqa project is one of a kind. It introduces a concept known as sharding where the mining process or confirmation of transactions, is divided into smaller shards. These shards then process transactions in parallel rather than updating the whole blockchain every time a transaction is run on the platform. This then allows the platform to scale as the shards increase in the network. thereby avoiding issues of a congested network as was the case when Crypto Kitties was launched. With respect to security on the platform, Zilliqa uses a new programming language known as Scilla that is very much developer friendly. It can even let you build on other blockchains such as the Ethereum or Ripple blockchain without much fuss. The programming language has been built by a bunch of academics from Singapore and the UK with the developer in mind. It also optimizes security to prevent cases of Smart Contracts being vulnerable as was the case with Ethereum. Another good thing about Zilliqa, is that it has a very strong and passionate community that is always on top of every development and rooting for the token in the markets. The Zilliqa Telegram Chat group has a whopping 28,732 members and is growing by the day. |

| body | Ethereum (ETH) is the pioneer platform for smart contracts. The team and project has weathered so many storms in terms of FUD, security issues on the platform and congestion on the network due to Crypto-Kitties. One event that almost toppled the Smart Contract giant, was the discovery of vulnerabilities in the smart contracts on the platform. The research that was carried out, noticed around 34,200 smart contracts that were vulnerable to exploitation by rogue hackers or even ETH miners. Concurently, there were 4 other projects tackling the industry of smart contracts and have been working tirelessly to improve on what was started by Ethereum. Zilliqa (ZIL) is one such project with smart contract capability. It also solves the scalability issue that caused the Crypto-Kitty debacle by introducing sharding. This concept divides the mining network into shards that can process transactions in parallel. As the network grows, so does the through-put in terms of transactions per seconds. ZIL has been doing tremendously well in the markets since its introduction. Only a month ago, ZIL was priced at $0.038. Now the token is valued at $0.162 – a gain of 326% – as ZIL fans anticipate the release of the MainNet version of the platform later this year. EOS (EOS) is also hot on the heels of Ethereum, not only in the smart contract industry, but also in terms of market capitalization. EOS is slated to release the MainNet of its blockchain at the beginning of June. This has propelled the token to the number 5 spot on coinmarketcap.com, and edging out Litecoin in the process. Although the difference in marketcap between ETH and EOS is a cool $60.63 Billion, EOS can gather enough momentum to catch up to ETH with the release of a solid MainNet. Neo (NEO) is a third project that is gunning for Ethereum’s dominance in terms of smart contract capability. The selling point for NEO is that developers do not need to learn a new programming language as is the case with Ether’s solidity. The developesr can use C#, Java and other mainstream programming languages. Based in China, NEO has had some brilliantly good days in the crypto-markets by having a taste of greatness when it peaked to a value of $194 on January 15th. It is currently valued at $68 and up 5.90%. NEO currently has a new project at hand called the NNS (Neo Name Service) that will allow for the replacement of wallet addresses with words or phrases. Users can also create .neo domains that can be used instead of public keys as a receiving address when making NEO transfers. The underdog in this list and the least known is IOStoken (IOST). The cool thing about IOST is that it also offers smart contract capability and sharding just like Zilliqa. But that is where the similarities end. IOST has the added aspect of being able to run on light weight infrastructure such as smart phones. This means it is also gunning for IOTA, which has similar IoT capabilities, as well as Ethereum. This is some cool stuff. The IOST project defines itself as the Internet of Services that offers a secure and scalable infrastructure for online services providers. It has a high throughput that has been rumored to run up to 100,000 TPS made possible through the sharding capability of the network. IOST is currently under 10 cents and trading at $0.06 at the moment of writing this and up 6.54% in 24 hours. In a nutshell, Ether can be credited as being the pioneer of smart contracts and being first in market with this respect. But there are four equally capable projects that are gunning for the spotlight in that industry. Time will be a factor as to which of the above four projects will make an impact similar to, or greater than Ether in the Crypto-verse. . |

| body | Zilliqa Testnet v1.0 Release: Codename Red Prawn Scalability (or rather the lack of it) is one of the biggest challenges with public blockchain platforms. Without a scalable solution it is hard to imagine a real-world decentralized application built atop blockchains. While there are different approaches to solve the scalability problem, one of the most promising one is the idea of sharding. Zilliqa is one of the few projects that have taken the sharding route. With sharding, Zilliqa has the potential to match throughput benchmarks set by traditional payment methods (such as VISA and MasterCard). Even more importantly, sharding ensures that Zilliqa’s transaction throughput increases (roughly) linearly with its network size — a feature missing in all popular blockchains today. The Journey So far The idea of sharding in the context of blockchains was first proposed in a paper titled “A Secure Sharding Protocol For Open Blockchains” co-authored by two of Zilliqa’s advisors Prateek Saxena and Loi Luu. The paper was seminal to the creation and development of the Zilliqa protocol. Mid 2017, the Zilliqa team was formed with the goal of building a scalable public blockchain with sharding built into it. The base sharding protocol was redesigned with new primitives from recent academic papers to improve the original sharding proposal. In September 2017, we released the first experimental results clocking 1,389 transactions per second using 4 shards (with a total of 2,400 shard nodes). A month later, we released the second set of experimental results, clocking 2,488 transactions per seconds using 6 shards (with a total of 3,600 shard nodes). Fun fact: we exhausted ALL of the available Amazon Web Service (AWS) Singapore’s server resources when we ran our testnet. In January 2018, we open sourced the alpha version of our code Durian at https://github.com/Zilliqa/zilliqa. Recent Development of Zilliqa During the last couple of months, we have been working on several core parts of the protocol to prepare for the testnet release. We have completed persistent storage (using LevelDB to store DS blocks, TX blocks and state of accounts and transactions for the latest several DS epochs), recovery from the persistent storage, enhancement of the consensus protocol, view change for shard nodes, JSON-RPC server, etc. For the last few weeks, we were mostly focused on adding peripheral support to Zilliqa such as a web wallet and a block explorer and their integration with the core protocol. Testnet Release Today We are happy to share with you testnet v1.0 codenamed Red Prawn. Red Prawn is a variety of durian known for its orange-red colour and curved flesh resembling that of a shrimp and is highly prized for its sweet taste. Please note that Red Prawn is the first version of the testnet and we will be continuously updating the testnet on a weekly basis. In our internal testing, we ran experiments on about 2,000 to 3,000 nodes achieving 2,000–3,000 transactions per second. As we have implemented several new features in the past few weeks, we do realize that the stability of our testnet needs improvement. We are first releasing a testnet with 1,000 nodes (4 shards) running on AWS. In the next few weeks, we will scale-up the network and focus on the following aspects of the protocol, which should be reflected in the updated versions of the testnet. Stability of the system on high-throughput; More nodes joining and leaving the network without interrupting the protocols; and Facilitating selected community members to start running nodes for the testnet. What you will be able to do in the first version of the testnet? Users will be able to send transactions through our web wallet to the network and use the block explorer to check the status of their transactions and other network and protocol parameters such as previously proposed blocks, transactions accepted by the network and the transaction throughput among others. For concrete steps on how to use the wallet and the explorer, please refer to the tutorial video. What you are not (yet) able to do with this testnet? We would also like to clarify that this first version of the testnet does not allow users to: Run a node: We still require some more time to improve the stability of our implementation before inviting community members to run nodes for the testnet. Mine on Zilliqa: Mining for Zilliqa will only start when the Zilliqa mainnet is launched. The incentive layer for Zilliqa is still under development, and any tokens used on this version of the testnet are only for testing purposes and cannot be converted to ZILs. Run a smart contract: Our smart contract layer is still under development, and will only be integrated into our testnet in the next few months. Transaction validation: Transaction validation is not comprehensive, for instance nonce validation. This feature is slated to be enabled in the coming weeks. In the coming few weeks, we will progressively be adding news features to the system. Some of these will in fact be live in the coming days as these are currently in the testing phase. How to use the testnet? We are collecting addresses to whitelist alpha users of our test wallet. After the first few days, the whitelisted users will be able to transact on our testnet. To be whitelisted, please fill out the form. We will be consolidating entries and starting to send out test ZILs soon. The testnet is running with some dummy transactions continuously. Feel free to check it out the explorer. How to report issues and bugs? We have two channels to ask questions around testing the testnet and reporting issues. We strongly recommend community members to ask us questions around how to use the wallet or explorer, on our Gitter channel. In order to report bugs with the wallet, explorer or the core protocol, please create an issue directly on Github. To learn more about Zilliqa or to discuss technical aspects of our project, feel free to connect with us in any of our official channels below: Telegram: https://t.me/zilliqachat Slack: https://invite.zilliqa.com/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/zilliqa Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/zilliqa/ Github: https://github.com/Zilliqa/zilliqa |

We will be consolidating entries and starting to send out test ZILs soon. The testnet is running with some dummy transactions continuously. Feel free to check it out the explorer.\n\nHow to report issues and bugs?\n\nWe have two channels to ask questions around testing the testnet and reporting issues. We strongly recommend community members to ask us questions around how to use the wallet or explorer, on our Gitter channel. In order to report bugs with the wallet, explorer or the core protocol, please create an issue directly on Github.\n\nTo learn more about Zilliqa or to discuss technical aspects of our project, feel free to connect with us in any of our official channels below:\n\nTelegram: https://t.me/zilliqachat\n\nSlack: https://invite.zilliqa.com/\n\nTwitter: https://twitter.com/zilliqa\n\nReddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/zilliqa/\n\nGithub: https://github.com/Zilliqa/zilliqa",
