It isn’t that I’m entirely jumping ship from other blog channels, rather I see here that we seem to be (no pun intended) steaming in the right direction, fuelled by the perpetual power of Blockchain. It’s an exciting development.\n\nI’ll cover what I consider to be just some of the relevant incubating events of the 1990’s, through to current revelations signalling the eventual replacement of Fiat currency and indeed democracy as we know it – you’ll see how inseparable they are.\n\nTo start, let’s take look back to the early 1990’s and the ground-breaking work of Tim Jones and Graham Higgins who, while at National Westminster Bank conceived the value card concept - a card-to-card payment system that effectively circumvented any Central Bank’s fiduciary control requirements. Mondex had hatched like a predatory T Rex hungry for banks. This was the first peer-to-peer cash payments system. So radical were the implications to the banking industry that banks froze with fear of the beast consuming their market and wealth. When the industry finally regained its senses it maneuvered to kill off the threat in its infancy. MasterCard led the charge and deftly swallowed it and spat it out. More on MasterCard anon.\n\nThis was all ground breaking stuff and few realised the exciting possibilities suddenly developing. Keep in mind these blogs were relevant to events of that time/place and Cyber$’s, SmartCards and E-Commerce were effectively the nomenclature for digital currency.
