Sugar is sweet to the taste and comes in a variety of forms, including glucose, fructose, galactose, lactose, maltose, and sucrose.\nMost people are most familiar with these types of sugar as white sugar in cube, powder, or granulated form. We have liquid sugar, brown sugar, and quite a bit more.\n\n\nAre you aware of your daily sugar intake?\n\nI find it difficult to estimate how much sugar I consume daily. I typically consume 4 sugar cubes each day, but I'm unsure how much sugar I consume in other meal types, such as rice, garri, yam, fufu, and soup, which I will definitely add one more cup of.\n\n![cookie-3216243_640.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmQq8BFpCNwAjcD8RvcocFiWX7cXHAPXXHihg3SSaZy99G/cookie-3216243_640.jpg)\n\n\nI'm unsure exactly how much sugar is in all of that, but I'm confident that it's present in a variety of forms.\n\n\nHave any members of your family suffered from diabetes?\n\nI lost a paternal cousin to diabetes, and even after she was given the diagnosis, a lot of time and money were devoted to determining the cause rather than treating the illness.\n\n\n\n Have you ever struggled with sugar?\n\nNo, not right now, and I certainly hope not in the future. I have a sweet tooth, and my body now does a good job of processing sugar.
