      "body": "Windows 11 has been out for about six months now, and while it has required an internet connection for the Home edition since launch, Microsoft left the offline option for Windows 11 Pro, given that it's the version of the operating system used by IT professionals – but those days are ending. \n\nIn the latest Windows 11 Preview build, Microsoft notes that Windows 11 Pro now requires an internet connection when you're first setting up your device. Right now, that's where it's left, but Microsoft does note that in the future \"you can expect Microsoft Account to be required\". \n\nIt's not exactly clear when this update is going to be delivered to the actual live version of Windows 11, but it's likely to be some time this year. So, if you have a device that you want to have a completely offline installation of Windows 11, you might want to install it soon. \n\n \n\nAnalysis: Doesn't Everyone Have The Internet? Who Cares?\n\nThese days, now that so many of the services we use every single day are online, it's easy to wonder who this would actually affect. However, not everyone has the internet. \n\nThis could negatively affect users in parts of the world without reliable internet, and for IT professionals that like to have total control of the devices they deploy to their userbases. \n\nWindows 11 Home, because of its required internet connection, is already a nightmare for users in either of these situations, but now that the requirement is being moved to Windows 11 Pro as well, it narrows the appeal of the operating system. \n\nIt's another move that will give Microsoft more access to data, which makes a lot of sense. But it comes at the cost of convenience for a ton of people. And, there are definitely folks that will be stuck with Windows 10 devices due to their lack of access to stable or reliable internet connections.\n\nI use Windows 11 Pro on my test bench in the lab, precisely because I can install it without an internet connection, and don't have to go through a lengthy sign-in process to get it running. For hardware reviewers like me, this change will just mean a lot of wasted time, though I will likely just keep install media for an older version lying around, then update the system post-installation. Rolled out in 2021, Android 12 resulted in a number of privacy-focused upgrades and improvements, and there's now even an entire new Privacy Dashboard that lets users see how different apps are accessing data on the device.\n\nAndroid 12 also makes it easy to completely turn off the phone's microphone, camera or GPS sensor with a single tap. The toggles can be found in the Quick Settings panel that's accessed by swiping down twice from the top of the screen. However, there's no way to sign out of just one device on Netflix, which means users will have to sign out of all devices at once. Note that devices can only be removed from a Netflix account using the website and not the Netflix mobile apps.\n\nRemoving a device from a Netflix account is helpful when users log in on somebody else's computer or TV temporarily and then forget to log out. It is also beneficial if a device is stolen and users are worried about unauthorized access. Removing that device ensures that no unauthorized user can stream content on any device.\n\nThe first step towards removing any device from a Netflix account is identifying all connected devices. To do that, log in to Netflix on a computer using a web browser. Then hover over the profile icon at the top-right corner and click on 'Account' from the drop-down menu. Next, click on 'Recent device streaming activity' under Settings. The next page will display a list of the currently logged-in devices to that Netflix account. Netflix will now sign out every device logged in to that account, including the active one.\n\n \n\nRemove Download Devices From Netflix\n\nNetflix also offers content for offline viewing, and the option is available on mobile apps, as well as Windows. Unfortunately, Mac doesn't have a native Netflix app, which means the offline viewing option isn't available on MacBooks and iMacs.
