You’ve ever heard your friends telling you “OMG, my teacher is so hard! He gives me the hardest test ever, and never teaches. I’m failing because of him.” Or something like “I deserve more, but my boss never appreciates me!” Can excuses fix the problem? Never. They will never change the situation, they are just making you feel better about things you did wrong. You can deny it, but why else would you make an excuse? \nYeah, yeah, those conditions may be true, but how can tell those excuses possibly help you? Oh yeah, so you can blame it on other people, so you can save your little ego. You will stop working hard, because you are giving yourself a reason for doing less. Because someone did something to me, therefore I can’t improve. They totally tried my hardest(sarcasm). The whole point of making excuses is to make one feel better about oneself. Even worse, you think you are trying your hardest, and the only problem is the teacher or the boss. You can probably work extra hard then right now, but you are just not doing it because you think you are not the problem. Many people claim they don’t have time, if you don’t have time, squeeze time out of dinner, squeeze time out of gaming time, squeeze time out of facebook. I bet the people who complain about not having enough time are either working extremely hard or just not trying hard enough to utilize time. \nWhile the people are succeeding near you, you just start finding external reasons. As an Asian, one of the stereotype I hate the most is “Of course you get A all the time, it’s genetic.” STOP LOOKING FOR EXTERNAL REASONS! People are just looking for reasons to justify their laziness, they can spend same amount of time Asian parents force Asian kids studying.\n\nStop trying to make up excuses, and take some responsibilities.
