| body | You are dealing with more than a business here – you are dealing with a community. A community that has been here longer than you have. Steem & Steemit “Elders” have poured their passion into the site & currency over the years, and with that invested time & passion, they deserve some respect. You bought the company – not the people. Money can buy a lot of things – trust isn’t one of them. Since the moment you took hold of Steemit (through an unannounced sudden back-alley deal), you have done very little to address the communities concerns or answer their questions. You are the new kid. You can’t come into this and expect to be accepted and earn trust by keeping everyone in the dark. The balloon drop with confetti cannons while changing every topic to “TRON” isn’t selling it. We are not the TRON community – we are the Steem community. The fireworks that light up your sky when you talk about TRON are just for you. You have done nothing to understand and empathize with the Steem community & witnesses. You can try twisting what the witnesses did (freezing the Steem accounts you own) as much as you want, but the move the witnesses made was with a passion for protecting Steem – an act out of precaution for what they love caused by your silence on your intentions & way of shrugging off community questions. Your actions today were done selfishly, recklessly, & shows your lack of empathy and understanding. You have effectively lost any chance at trust from some of the most passionate Steem users & witnesses. You did not do your part when you entered this community to introduce yourself correctly and clearly state your intentions. You came in as a TRON salesman, and sorry, none of us were buying – we already had Steem. I think more than your move today, the most unfortunate thing we learn from this, is the fact that you didn’t hear the community. We were talking. We had questions and concerns. You just didn’t care enough to listen. You did whatever it took to get your Steem back. Pretending you did it to gain back control of the community is “transparent” and we are seeing right through it. You have proven that you care more about the money than you do the community. You are the bad actor. |

| body | https://i.imgsafe.org/5bcae60cec.jpg One of my worst nightmares became a reality one cool rainy day in May. Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined it would ever come to be, but it did. I walked into a Mongolian grill and sat down at a small table in the back corner. I watched the rain crawl down the window-pane as if the atmosphere around me was crying, foreshadowing what was yet to come. For those of you that do not know what a Mongolian grill is, it is a restaurant where you walk down a buffet and dish up raw meat, veggies, and sauces into a bowl (which you then give to a cook to grill it). I had been to a few Mongolian grills before – each time with the same fear. This time, my fear was confirmed. I walked up to the buffet, grabbed the tongs, and dished up raw chicken, broccoli, noodles, and a few other veggies and sauces. I placed my bowl onto the counter and waited for it to get cooked. A lady in her 30s walked down the buffet all the way to the end and began filling her bowl with raw chicken. Because her bowl was so full of raw meat, some chicken fell over the side of her bowl. She picked up the raw chicken with her fingers, and then set it in her bowl. _“She’s going to have to wash her hands”_ I thought to myself, knowing that you can get very sick from raw chicken. To my horror, she walked to the other end of the Mongolian buffet and started dishing up the veggies and sauces – touching all of the tongs with her raw chicken fingers! The woman then waited in line behind me. I couldn’t believe she just got raw chicken juice all over the tongs of the buffet. To make matters worse, then came the cashier to stir the veggies – touching all the tongs, and then going back up to the register to help customers… That chicken juice spread like wildfire. _“Here you go!”_ said the cook as he handed me my plate of cooked food. I walked slowly to my table, sat down, and ate my food while thinking “It’s safe, just don’t touch the food with your fingers, or touch the other end of your fork. Some of you may laugh and think I was being a germaphobe that day, but guess who **didn’t** get fiery diarrhea. That’s right – _this girl!_ Let this be a lesson to those of you that don’t know – raw chicken has a bacteria called “Salmonella”, and if ingested, it can cause an upset stomach and most likely…how is the classy way to put it… the “hershey squirts.” **Sayitsister - saving one toilet at a time (and possibly floor/pants)** |

You are welcome to do that, but you should know that after your first 4 posts within 24 hours, your payout weight will start to go down. This means that a post will make less than if you had only posted 4 or less within the last 24 hours. It is to prevent people from spamming the system with a lot of posts. |

| body | What is interesting, is I think this is a large portion of what this thread/conversation is about. Most people are probably upvoting simply because they expect it to pay out a lot, so they are jumping on the bandwagon to get high curation rewards. @dantheman himself seems to indicate that downvoting to reduce the payout is an acceptable thing in the current paradigm. The real challenge is deciding what value each contribution has to the community. It is obviously subjective, and while some people might argue that this post does deserve $2,500, a lot of other people would disagree. As someone with significantly higher SP, the system is giving your subjective value judgement a lot more weight than say my subjective value judgement. I think you should decide if you think the payout of a particular post is high/low in your opinion, and upvote/downvote based on that. |

| body | I totally agree with you. Too many people don't wash their hands! Back when I was in college, I would sit in the hall and study while waiting for my next class. The restrooms were just down the hall. They had a loud air dryer and no paper towels. So, whenever someone walked out and you didn't hear the hand dryer run, you knew they didn't wash their hands. It is common sense hygiene. It is why, after I wash my hands, I use a kleenex or paper towel to open the bathroom door when I leave. ♕ |

Once the traffic merged into one lane, it will start moving fast again, she thought.

The princess sat there in stopped traffic, not sure why it was moving so slow. She looked out her window to see traffic flying past on the left. "That's funny" she thought. The arrows pointed to the lane she was in. Why would people wait to merge until later? So, the little princess pulled her pink car out half way in the middle of the two lanes as to save her place in line, and block others from jumping ahead of her. Lets start this topic out in play format :)

Reliable types out a text and sends it to Unreliable

Reliable: Hey! What are your plans for Saturday?

(phone shows text was delivered but not read)

- 2 hours later -

(message unread)

Reliable types out another text and sends it to Unreliable

Reliable: Hi, not sure if you got my first text. What are your plans for Saturday?

- 2 days later -

(phone shows text was delivered but not read)

Reliable knows that Unreliable checks their phone. Unreliable lives and breathes their phone. Their phone goes with them everywhere. So why are they not answering?

Possibilities include:

1. They are super busy - no time

But you saw them post photos of themselves on instagram...

2. Not really, but they have followers on the various social media channels. They have many, many friends. Not good ones, but people they can add to the count of their friends list. They will go out of their way, and do absolutely anything they can to help...themselves. They are a selfish people. Their life runs on their own clock, not the worlds clock. If someone doesn't like them they say they don't care, even though deep inside they do. Popularity is their world, and without it, their life is a shell. They have yet to learn what really matters in life, and most of them will "wake up" after it is already to late.

I am here - trying to tell you that: most of the people that take their time to contact you even after you have ignored them numerous times, are a hero, and are a friend worth having.

If you are one of the many unreliable people that practice this selfish behavior - Stop. Why?

- It's rude.

- It's childish.

- you are not better than everyone else.

- one day people will stop making excuses for you, and your phone will stop ringing.

So, in conclusion:
Treat others with respect.
