I read mixed reviews as some people were praising it as it offered crypto rewards to video content creators, while others complained about the slow buffer speeds and unattractive user interface. I normally try out any new crypto based platform I hear about to find out for myself if it is worth investing time and effort on. For every good platform I find there are several duds which I stop using after the initial week. Currently I am regularly using only 3 platforms- Publish0x, Uptrennd and Crowdholding. The others I stopped being active as I did not find any traction. I was looking for a 4th platform to get involved with as I have more spare time these days due to the lockdown thanks to COVID19. \n\n**My Fear!**\nDespite being a bit interested I continued to ignore LBRY for several weeks though I kept reading new articles and testimonies by people who seemed to be having a great time on LBRY. This intentional avoidance of LBRY was not due to any personal enmity but due to an old fear (imagine suspenseful music playing in the background).\nThis fear was due to my past experience with youtube. Long time back I had created a video on Bitcoin and I had dreams of creating a really successful youtube channel. As I started creating that video, I started to realize how complicated it was to make a video and so many things you had to take care of. So many retakes, so much editing required and the whole process was much more time consuming than what I expected. Finally after the video was ready it turned out much different than what I had hoped for (yes, the quality was way worse than my lowest expectations). The video received a total of 6 views over the next 6 months and surprisingly I dropped the whole idea of making any more videos and gave up my dream of getting the youtube button. \n\n**First Date with LBRY!**\nDespite my vow to never make a video ever again in my life my plan changed when I came across the April earning report of Scott Cunningham. He mentioned he made over 60% of his earnings from LBRY which was more than $300. I know Scott had joined LBRY very recently and he has been active on Publish0x for much longer. This made it clear that earning potential of LBRY was real and not a figment of imagination. I was still a bit hesitant as I know the high quality videos Scott churns out regularly and I remember well the first video I made. On a scale of 1 to 10 the gap was more than 20. Anyway I decided to start making videos with a plan of making 1 video per week till the lockdown runs in my city.\n\n**First Impression of LBRY!**\nSo I went ahead and uploaded the video I mentioned earlier on LBRY. It has been a couple of days and already have 2 subscribers and 2 views on my video (yeah it’s low but way better start than my youtube story).\nWhat I really liked about LBRY is the Gamification model they have in place. When you give to rewards section you will see new tasks which keep getting updated as you complete the previous ones. They are linked to the videos you upload, subscribers you get, videos you watch etc. I already have made 40 LBC in 3 days. \nThe best part in my opinion is the approach to rewards content creators and viewers (yeah, very similar to Publish0x). So even if I decide to stop making more videos I will regularly get LBC tokens just for daily watching videos. You get anything between 1 to 100 LBC token each day for watching atleast 1 video. So far the highest I got is 10 a day. Let’s see how it goes. I will strongly recommend you to focus on writing about topics related to cryptocurrencies and blockchain based projects. This is irrespective of the current level of understanding you have about the crypto field. Of course if you already know a lot about crypto then you will find the sailing smooth here and very quickly gain a large number of followers and can expect high level of tips for all your posts. Even if you are new to crypto take it up as a challenge and research about tokens, projects, apps in crypto space that interest you and write about them. It will surely be a bit hard in the beginning, but I assure you it will get easier if you stick around for a while.\nTo share my personal experience here I started writing here since Nov 2019 and at that time my knowledge about crypto space was limited to Bitcoin. Here I will suggest you to curb the temptation to publish too many articles just for the heck of posting something hoping that people will randomly start tipping all your articles and more articles means more money. In my experience 1 well researched and well written article is worth much more than 10 shoddily written articles created in haste, both in terms of the value it adds to the readers as well as the tips you will receive. It will impact you in the long run as well as once people realize you are not putting in efforts in your posts they will not invest their valuable time in your future posts.\nDo keep in mind that if you write a long post it should be relevant and not be made unnecessarily long with repetitive and pointless lines.\nHow many posts should you write per week? There is no standard answer for this and it will vary from person to person and you should try to write the maximum you can manage as much as your free time allows. I try to write at least 1 post per week as during the weekdays I do not get much time but I always take out some time over the weekend to pen down my thoughts and later when I feel the article is in a good shape I publish it. It can be 1 per day for you if you have the time or can be 1 per month if you have a demanding day job and family responsibilities but the key here is to make sure you keep writing and don’t give up midway.\n  \n\n#4. How much should I tip other Writers?\nYou might be tempted to keep the maximum possible tip for yourself and thank god that Publish0x has kept a 20% limit as minimum for the author else the majority would have taken 100% tips for themselves and the whole purpose of rewarding writers would have become useless. There is no other rule as such and you can tip anywhere between 20% to 100% to the writers but let me share with you my approach. \nI normally tip a minimum 30% to the articles I read, 50% if I find something new and interesting and 100% if I find something practical eg. an app I decide to use, a genuine faucet, a token I decide to invest in etc.\nYou may think this is excessive but let me tell you my rationale. I strongly believe in principle of Karma i.e. what goes around comes around. It is clear from the statistic that this was a failed experiment both in terms of getting views and tips so most probably I will not be writing similar posts.\nB.\tToken Reviews- My reviews on Cardano and Tezos got average views and tips so I will continue writing such posts as there is some demand if not too much.\nC.\tRandom Musing- The post on Bitcoin was about some personal thoughts I had about my interest in BTC. This also was clearly not too successful.\nD.\tUser Benefit- The Monero article presented what benefits users will receive by using a secure token like Monero. This clearly received a much better response than other articles\nIf you keep reviewing which type of writing is received better it will help you improve yourself as a writer.\n# 6. How to withdraw my Earnings?\nYou will see the minimum threshold for each token type when you can make a withdraw request.       "body": "![Cardano worth cover.png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmQJ9e3qmfWeUv2m5DfYNi3eXszBVwoFPNnJs4Z6zZSmpU/Cardano%20worth%20cover.png)\nMy interest in Cardano got roused when couple of months back I read an article which claimed Cardano was built on technology that was far superior to Ethereum and in the coming years it was going to replace ETH as the preferred backbone of crypto industry. Many people claimed it to be the Japanese Ethereum as more than 90% of it’s ADA tokens were held by the Japanese. Once it announced it’s partnership with the New Balance footwear company the global investments started pouring in even faster. Soon it had a market cap of over $1 B, which placed it in the top 15 cryptos in terms of market worth. \nBased on what I came across in the publicly available reports on Cardano, following are the key differentiating factors which might make it one the biggest gainers during the next bull run, which frankly is long overdue.\nWhy I think Cardano will strike gold in the coming year:\n•\tScientific Research based: Cardano is claimed to be technically and scientifically the most solid crypto project. The concepts of mathematical code verification and the research that has been put into it’s code is touted as the most thorough compared to it’s competitors and is the key reason why many strongly believe it will outperform Ethereum very soon.\n•\tLearning from Other’s mistakes: Cardano’s team states they researched over 1,000 altcoins and the reasons why they failed to deliver and incorporated the lessons learnt on improving Cardano. Was this research fool-proof only time will tell.\n•\tCurrent price level: It’s current price level of $0.05 makes it one of the most undervalued projects in the top 20 coins list and leaves a large space for future appreciation. People with some risk appetite stand to get great RoI if this token perform wells in coming years.\n\nDespite these positive features I am still a bit apprehensive before making a big investment decision on Cardano.\nWhat still makes me cautious about Cardano:\n•\tNot listed on Coinbase: During 2nd half of 2019 Coinbase listed several new coins on it’s exchange platform but this list did not include Cardano. It can be traded on Binance but I feel Coinbase is more selective about which coins it includes and does a solid background check. If Coinbase found something about Cardano which made them hesitate it is sort of a red flag for me.\n•\t45 Billion coins: Maximum supply limit of Cardano is set at 45 billion, which in my opinion is way too high considering most of the prominent coins have supply limited at some millions with Bitcoin having a 21 million limit. With such a huge supply I doubt ADA will ever cross the $100 mark leave aside $1,000 or higher.\n\nOverall I am waiting for a move by Coinbase, if they decide to include it in their exchange I might start investing limited amounts, but till then I am just going to wait and watch how this project unfolds.\nMake sure to do proper research on your own before taking an investment decision on ADA. This love affair started by going to gaming parlor where you had to purchase gaming tokens which could be used in any of the games you like. I remember saving from my pocket money as much as possible and blow it up on arcade games with my friends over the weekend.\n\nWhen I was 10, I received a gaming console as a birthday gift and these trips to gaming parlor stopped. Instead I will save my money to purchase cartridges of the new games which got launched regularly. My fondness for gaming did not end with my childhood and carried forward well into adulthood. It's just that with passing time the consoles evolved to Nintendo, XBox and Playstation. Games got more sophisticated from the basic pac man to 3D/ Virtual reality ones.\n\nDespite the major evolution in gaming one game which has remained my all time favorite in Contra. It is a simple shooting gameplay but at that it seemed like a big deal. Me, my brother and neighborhood friends used to play it with serious dedication. Come to think of it the level of concentration I used to maintain while playing it was higher than what I put in for my current job.\n\nMy brother and I remembered each stage by heart and knew what to do at which level. We had clear distribution of responsibilities about who will go over the bridge and who will be killing the enemies in the river below. We knew who will be hitting the level boss from left and who will cover right side.\n\nWhat really surprised me recently was that I had not played this game for over 15 years but found it at cousins place recently and decided to give it a shot. I was shocked to see that I still remembered how to play it. I guess just like once you learn swimming or cycling it stays with you for life. The team has been very active in marketing their coin and highlighting what are their special benefits. I got interested in Tezos once I received an alert that Coinbase Earn videos were available. I immediately completed the videos and was credited about 4 XTZ token in my wallet. I was left thinking about the baking concept which was mentioned in one of the videos and I decided to investigate further about it to see if it was a project worth getting involved in for the long term. Here is a summary of the main points which struck me: \n•\tLegit Deal: The first think which I check about any project is to confirm it’s not an obvious scam. I went through their whitepaper which has been available since 2014 and despite the delay in launch the team behind it appears committed. (barring the recent controversy between founders and president over ICO funds utilization). Another big plus is that in 1 year of it’s launch it was listed on Coinbase. This is a big factor for me as I know Coinbase does it’s own research to ensure they are not allowing any scammy coin to trade on their exchange as they have a big reputation to maintain.\n•\tBaking Tezos: Tezos uses a proof of stake mechanism which rewards new tokens based on the amount of XTZ you hold and does not require high end mining hardware which is needed for mining coins like Bitcoin. Baking however is not so straightforward as to set up your own node for staking you need to own a minimum 8,000 XTZ which will set you back by more than $ 10,000. I don’t know about you but I currently don’t have sufficient faith in Tezos to put $10,000 in it. In this scenario there is an option of staking delegation, which is something like a pooled staking. There are already many sites offering this service at different rates and you need to do through research to not get duped by a shady service.\n•\tTezos Faucet: This generated a lot of curiosity in people as who would pass an opportunity to get free tokens of a legit deal. I was already happy with the tokens I got through Coinbase so like many others I also went to the faucet link. This was however a major disappointment as I have been waiting for a day and the page keeps showing the message that they are busy processing my request. This was a major turn off for me as I am still wondering if this was a marketing gimmick and they didn’t plan to distribute any tokens through this faucet or perhaps they had some tokens to distribute but they were not expecting so many people to come with their buckets to their faucet \n\nAs of now I have sort of mixed feelings for this project and will wait and watch for a while before investing any substantial amount is the project. When people think it is going to fall to all time lows it suddenly stops falling and starts a rebound. Considering crypto currencies are a relatively new phenomenon compared to stocks, derivatives, commodities and forex I have not seen a single trading expert who can say with certainty which way BTC will move. This is made much more complex by the whale manipulations and recent institutional involvements by banks and private funds.\nThis movement will get more erratic as we move ahead to the next BTC halving that will happen in May. Some people say BTC will shoot up to unprecedented all time highs also called “to the moon” with expectations ranging from $100,000 to 1,000,000 and at the same time many contrarians are warning that the price appreciation linked to halving has already been done in 2019 and 2020 might in fact see some correction. Considering that BTC always does the unexpected nobody is really sure what exactly will happen in 2020.\nOne thing though is certain that once the correction happens there will be some movement and another wave of increased interest and news coverage and speculation about bitcoin. You will suddenly see everyone talking about it ranging it from your relatives who have not talked to you in ages, your pizza delivery guy who wants to know if you would like to tip in BTC, random office colleagues who think bitcoin mining is done underground in deep caves in China. This would also mean that everyone would suddenly want to get some BTC. At this stage what will really matter is that you are clear why exactly you want Bitcoin and not make a rash decision based on what you hear from others or see the majority doing.\nYour main motivation for Bitcoin can be either of the following\n•\tFast Buck: Who won’t like to double their money overnight so once the price starts to moon you will see many people breaking their piggy banks and putting all the money in Bitcoin and then selling it at a loss once it corrects 50% over the next week. If your interests are completely monetary you need to back it with solid technical analysis and have clear targets set for what are your target prices to sell and what are the stop loss levels you are going to maintain no matter what you feel emotionally.\n•\tRevolutionary: This group of people includes the HODLers who have complete faith in Bitcoin’s future and don’t get charged by sudden price movements. They believe they will live to see the day when fiats will die a slow and painful death and Bitcoin will reign supreme. Many in this category will never sell their BTC and rather use BTC to make their big purchases in future. For this category whatever BTC price does in 2020 does not really make a difference\n•\tBit of Both: This category includes my kind of people who have faith is future utility of Bitcoin but they make sure they book their profits regularly so whenever they see a big bull run they sell a part of their portfolio and whenever they see “Blood on the Streets” (I love this phrase for bear market used by Alessio Rastani) they buy more of their favourite crypto.  \n\nYou can be either of this category and I feel all are right in their own way. Most of us agreed on future potential of XRP, XLM, BAT and DASH but once Monero came up for discussion there was a major difference in opinions. Many feel it is not a reliable currency and it’s privacy features are better suited for people involved in criminal activities.\nI realized a vast majority of the people have very negative perception about Monero and that’s why it’s user base is much lower than the other popular altcoins like XRP and BAT.\nI am summarizing below the points I presented to my friends about why Monero is the most misunderstood crypto and is actually a must have to include in your portfolio as it might turn out to be the most powerful crypto if there is a strong turmoil in the country where you live or work.\n•\tWealth Privacy: One common feature of most decentralized currencies is that the records are public which means once someone knows your public address he can easily see how many coins you hold. If you live in a peaceful country this is not a problem, however if you live in an area rampant with crime and violence or if your country faces a political situation which makes it temporarily dangerous then having everyone know how many coins you hold can be really risky. This is where Monero comes to the rescue. When you use Monero there is no way for anyone to know how many coins you hold. No one knows if you are a crypto whale or just an average poor guy holding just a few coins.\n•\tSurveillance Free: Another issue with most coins is the public ledger which can track all transactions. This again is not a problem if all your transactions are with legit people. The problem comes when you receive a transaction from someone who got the coins from an illegal activity or send it to someone who uses it for unlawful purposes. In this case if there is an enquiry you will definitely get dragged into it unnecessarily for no fault of yours. Here Monero provides a good alternative as transactions are not publicly accessible. This also helps if your country decides to put an exorbitant tax rate on crypto gains in the future. Wide range of crypto based projects got launched and the existing ones gained deeper traction.\nWe are now in 2020 which I feel will be a critical year for crypto due to several factors like the upcoming Bitcoin halving which everyone hopes will end the long crypto winter we have been facing since 2018. This will also be a time to get a view of how the new crypto plans by different countries get implemented in reality or remain a fantasy in paper.\nIn any case whether we see an incredible bull run or extended bearish phase this is a good year to gain more knowledge on blockchain and crypto as we are inching closer to the tipping point where fiat will see serious competition from crypto backed currencies.\nI have the following resolutions which I will try my best to meet by end of the year:\n•\t**Read 1500 articles on Blockchain or Crypto** based projects. I will read 5-6 articles each day covering new crypto projects, TA for the major coins and new crypto based ideas that people share\n•\t**Write 150 articles on Crypto**. I will target writing 3-4 articles each week on my views about the new projects and crypto use cases & experiences.\n•\t**Collect 1 Bitcoin**.
