There was much discussion regarding the conceptual ideas surrounding the EOS Alliance last month, where many thought leaders in the EOS community members met in Shanghai to surface and move ideas forward. Hearing Brock Pierce and Thomas Cox discuss their vision for how the EOS Alliance could take shape and help positively drive impact, we knew straight away we were going to support this initiative -- and get involved where appropriate. We are proud to be associated with the EOS Alliance as well as the other block producers and community members involved, and will support this initiative however we can.</p>\n<h2>EOS Alliance Principles</h2>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Missing from the official press release, but quite striking to us are the foundational principles which stand beneath the overall framework:</p>\n<ul>\n  <li>The Alliance will neither seek nor accept positional power of any kind. All governance power of the EOS mainnet resides in the Token Holders, their elected Block Producers, and community approved Arbitrators.</li>\n  <li>The Alliance can never decide an outcome nor set community policy. It can help the community decide in neutral and unbiased ways.</li>\n  <li>The Alliance will seek to accumulate knowledge power by engaging in regular communications activities, while translating key articles between the community’s in Mandarin, English and Korean.</li>\n  <li>The Alliance will never have direct or independent access to any community funds, including but not limited to the Worker Proposal fund in ‘eosio.saving’.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>EOS Alliance Leadership</h2>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>The EOS Alliance will serve under its guiding vision of <em>Empowering EOS For All</em> to curate and coordinate various existing efforts <strong>within the EOS community</strong>. The EOS Alliance will launch initially with a seven (7) member Board, expanding as needed in a process currently under draft. Understanding that this has been an issue for many, 11 Block Producer Candidates have come together to recommend a single and straight-forward tool to help the community achieve the validation threshold of 150MM tokens. \n\nFirst and foremost, we want to remind the community that the only verifiably secure voting method (provided by Block One) at this time is through the cleos command-line wallet interface. Anyone who knows your private key has complete access to your EOS tokens and any voting done without offline transaction signing exposes you to some risk of your private key being compromised.\n\n# EOS Voter and Light Wallet\nExhaustive security audits on all third party wallets, browser extensions or voting portals have yet to be completed (though we encourage submissions!). This community has grown to hundreds of thousands across the globe, united behind that original vision, working together towards the most ambitious decentralized launch effort of a public blockchain network the world has ever seen.  \n\nOn 9 June, at 0100 UTC, the EOS Mainnet Launch Group (EMLG) unanimously voted “Go” to move forward with the EOS Mainnet Launch. The launch sequence began at 1300 UTC on 9 June 2018 and is expected to complete in 24 - 48 hours. For updates on the launch, look toward the Block Producers you trust and plan to vote for.\n\n#  Next Steps\n\nMeshing is currently in progress with the seed nodes.  The EMLG will release a list of peers to mesh with and the software requirements. On 10 June at 13:00 UTC the ELMG will meet to agree on validation. If validation is good the mainnet will open to the public.\n\n# Voting\nOnce voting for the initial 21 Block Producers is available you will see a notice from Block Producers you trust.
