Steep hills to the left, steep hills to the right and a big zone were you are not allowed to let the anchor go.       "body": "Crossing the Atlantic has been number one on my bucket list for at least 5 years now. I had a handful opportunities to do so but at the end a important part always was missing. Which was a payment to do so. In the sailing / yachting world there are a lot of \"jobs\" to get and a lot of them are unpaid and I was just not willing to work and not getting payed. \n\nSince my main occupation is sailing, I assume I build the knowledge and skill to be payed for what I do. Never the less, this year I was able to sail on a luxurious sailing vessel across the Atlantic and getting payed - A Dream fulfilled!\n\nRight now  I am sitting in the bridge, doing a anchor watch and writing this blog entry. It took us 13 days, with a average speed of around 8 knots to cross the Atlantic. In the whole time we did not use our engine - which I find a mayor achievement. The wind was all the time in our favor I guess. You can see them coming from a far, rolling towards you, with sometimes tremendous heights and just gliding over them - more or less elegantly :-D. Therefore I do have a lot of photos taken in that time. Overall I took over 1400 photos of crew, boat and nature in that 13 days.       "body": "<h2>Since 2 weeks I do have the pleasure to sail in the region of Cape Verde. </h2>Located on the west coast of Africa, the Cape Verdians are 2 chains of islands that do offer a lot of nature but lack tourism. Sao Nicolau is of these islands and I was able to hike a mind bending path of pure nature. \n\n\n![image.png](https://images.hive.blog/DQmfUwNm74jvedVe7APMwcmPaxTM3NTgvbJ63zSDjf1d4mL/image.png)\nOne of my guests from aboard the sailing vessel I am working on is looking at the path we just went down. \n\n![image.png](https://images.hive.blog/DQmYA43owoqdSDrEQSxhgYeCaCFCChUrcgP8KT2iQewpeG7/image.png)\nOne of the panoramas I took. 100 MB file size, 25 photos and a glorious view over the mountain range. This view was breathtaking.\n\n\n![image.png](https://images.hive.blog/DQmUySps2XohGFo1BQw41UuaU4tMoEixsScCALsfdZQZmr2/image.png)\nSmall houses are dotted around the landscape. They do have electricity but for the rest we doubt they have a lot of luxury. A great and proud Sao Nicolaurian. He really know what he was talking about. For example he told us that in 2021 there were on 12000 tourists on the island. This is another valley that we came from. It looks quite far away and it is. I still find it amazing what we can do nowadays with a laptop, a camera, some patience and a bit of time. You see the way down and up again to the next mountain range? The mood, the pose and what you don't know jet is: a few minutes later our guide run of because his mother died. :( Even in this remote area of the world there is cell coverage, so this news made him rum - very understandable. The crew and the guests collected quite some money for him to this bad time a bit better for him. Yeah, money does not bring his mother back but it really can help him to get everything in order.       "body": "<h2>Since 2 weeks I do have the pleasure to sail in the region of Cape Verde. </h2>Located on the west coast of Africa, the Cape Verdians are 2 chains of islands that do offer a lot of nature but lack tourism. They do have electricity but for the rest we doubt they have a lot of luxury.
