Hiroshima and Nagasaki, who does not know these cities? These are the two cities in Japan that saw nuclear bombardment. The results were devastating. The world was stunned beyond words. Nobody thought something like this could ever happen. But it did happen. \n\nThe world is in the midst of a similar disaster. 'Coronavirus'. In very many ways it is an order of magnitude more lethal than Nuclear bombardment. While the Nuclear bombardment affected two cities directly, the impact on the others was only indirect albeit stunning. The entire disaster emanated from China – Wuhan. There have been enough reports in the public domain that point to China's role in Life Sciences Research and the way the molecules were clandestinely obtained by them from Labs outside China.\n\n2.   China was not very forthcoming with information on the spread of the virus and its devastating impact. The first cases across many countries were induced by traveling Italians to these nations or returning natives of these countries from their travel to Italy. How did Italy get it in large numbers? It was due to some swift promotion of the virus in Italy by China. The Chinese used the human as a distribution channel. \n\nAcross major cities in Italy – Milan, Rome, Florence, etc. – there were Chinese nationals who stood holding a placard stating 'I am a human. I am not a Virus'. So far so good. But they went on to urge people to come in close proximity to take 'Selfie' with them. Many of them even urged people to hug them.  The entire movement got a huge boost when the mayor of Venice Mr. Dario Nardella was seen hugging a Chinese on a video posted on social media. While the world is struggling with the control of the disease and protecting its citizens, China is proverbially ‘making hay while the sun shines’. They are busy collecting orders for disease-related medicines, medical equipment (ventilators, etc) and medical supplies (masks, gloves, etc). Many of these supplies are substandard and the receiving countries are having to return them adding to their woes. The devastative effect of what Biological warfare can do has been witnessed by the entire globe even if this is not one. And therein lies the responsibility of the UN to ensure that a close watch and monitoring is done on the evolution of this technology across the globe. The UN has proved itself entirely ineffective in controlling the proliferation of 'Nuclear Race'. There are indicators of it being in the realm of Biological Warfare. Whether or not it is a truth, time will tell. But one thing is for sure. The devastative effect of what Biological warfare can do has been witnessed by the entire globe even if this is not one. And therein lies the responsibility of the UN to ensure that a close watch and monitoring is done on the evolution of this technology across the globe. The UN has proved itself entirely ineffective in controlling the proliferation of 'Nuclear Race'. The bill was signed by the President of India and was notified in the official gazette on 12th December 2019 as **Citizenship (Amendment) Act 2019,** (CAA). This Act makes amendments to the existing Citizenship Act of India that has been in place since 1955. CAA provides for a pathway to citizenship of India for minorities residing in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. All three countries are neighboring countries for India. But more than that, all three countries are Islamic countries. Therefore, by definition, minorities in these countries are all religions that are not Islam. To avoid any misunderstanding, the government made it clear that the Bill applies to Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis, and Christians. All these religions face serious persecution in these countries and the data for the last 60 years plus reveals the same.\n\nThere has been a lot of hue and cry against the Act since then. Some of the common objections raised against the Act are listed below:\n\n**1. It is anti-Muslims.**\n**2. It will upset the ethnic identity of the local population impacting their culture.**\n**3. It violates the Indian constitution.**\n**4. It is an agenda of the ruling party to engage in ‘Vote Bank Politics’.**\n\nWe take a closer look at these charges.\n\n**1. The Bill is anti-Muslims**\n\nLet us examine the allegation. For clarity and better understanding, we cluster the Muslims into two groups. **‘Not citizens of India’** and **‘Citizens of India’**.\n\n**_Not Citizens of India_** - CAA is in no way addressing Muslims outside India i.e. Muslims who are not citizens of India. It has been made amply clear that the bill is addressing non-citizens only from either of the following religions - **Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis, and Christians**. How then can there be a question of bringing any harm to Muslims who are citizens of Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan? It beats common-sense intelligence. Non-Indian Muslims in these respective countries are governed by the constitution of their own respective countries (good or bad) and India has nothing to do with it. If, however, there are cases in these countries where despite being an Islamic State, and Islam being the dominant religion, there are Muslim persons who feel persecuted, India has not shut its door. These Muslim people are welcome to apply for Indian citizenship as per the currently prevailing laws of India, and their cases will be taken upon merit. This was spelled out by the Home Minister of India to the Parliament (The Upper House as well as Lower House). The Minister went a step further and placed on record data as to how many Muslim persons have been granted citizenship in India in the last five years. Just as an example, Mr. Adnan Sami, a celebrated singer and musician from Pakistan was granted citizenship in India effective 1st January 2016. \n\n**_Citizens of India_** - The status or benefits of Indian Muslims do not in any way change with CAA. The Act has nothing to do with the Muslim citizens of India. It only addresses non-Muslims, who are not citizens of India, and, who are persecuted religious minorities in Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan. \n\nAs we see from above the whole argument about CAA being anti-Muslim is baseless. CAA in no way impacts Muslims whether Citizens of India or Non-Citizens of India. It is, therefore, nothing but propaganda by those who want to play politics over the issue. Their motive is to instigate the Muslim community of India. They spare no effort at 'fear-mongering' and try to instill doubts and fear in the Muslim community.  On the flip side, they present themselves as the messiah of Muslims.\n\n**2. Ethnic Identity**\n\nThe issue of Ethnic identity applies predominantly to North-East states, and even within them, mostly to Assam, Meghalaya, and Tripura. See the map below.\n\n<center>![North East Map.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmXpaKKyKng9EXHKNoE9CDxEqhrLCfQJ9i4mWwx7TdBXgk/North%20East%20Map.jpg)</center>\n\nThe states of Assam, Meghalaya, and Tripura are border states with Bangladesh. While Meghalaya is predominantly Christian religion (about 75% of the population are Christians), the state of Assam and that of Tripura are Hindu majority areas (62% population of Assam and 82% population of Tripura are Hindus).  The bulk of migrants, who are of Hindu religion would have a natural preference for Assam (due to location advantage) followed by Tripura. The population of these states is not very large. Assam is about 30 million (3 Cr), while Meghalaya is about 2.5 million (25 lacs) and Tripura is about 3.5 million (35 lacs). With the population being low, any large influx is likely to put pressure on the ethnic culture and lifestyle of Assam and Tripura. It is therefore but natural that the local population is not liking the idea of CAA and are protesting. \n\nThe foreigner's issue in Assam is not, however, a new issue. It has been in existence from the times of British rule. At that time Bangladesh was not a separate country. It was a part of India. And British were settling Muslims from the region (now Bangladesh) into the upper parts of India which is the Lower Assam part today. The issue has evaded solution over the last almost a century (the British had started settling outsiders (predominantly Muslims) since 1920. The matters had however come to a boil after 1971 – the time when Bangladesh became a separate country. The infiltration went up phenomenally and the local population rose in protest. Assam went through its worst turmoil for about a decade-plus. Finally, an Accord was signed between the local representatives of Assam and the Government of India in 1985. As part of the Accord, the cutoff date to regularize the foreigners was 1966. Further, it was also decided to accelerate the development of Assam and to take steps to preserve the local identity, its customs, traditions, and culture. The relevant section of the Accord is presented below.\n\n<center>![Assam Accord - clause 6.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmYKQug5eUpuYTzuUjSMXJyGmPZFb8mQPohRo9p93vwf6n/Assam%20Accord%20-%20clause%206.jpg)</center>\n\nThe irony is that there has been little development and little effort that has gone for the 30 years since the signing of the Accord in 1985 (from 1985 to 2019) towards meeting the above two needs. It is only after the current BJP government came to power that the integrated development of the entire North East started to happen. (the authors of this article had come out with an exhaustive report on development under Modi govt 1.0 where development in North East was covered in detail. Read the section on projects in North East -https://steemit.com/india/@ajain/ft-rebuttal-part-2-assessing-failed-infrastructure-overhaul . Bogibeel Bridge, Dhola Sadiya Bridge, Pasighat Airport (Arunachal Pradesh), Pakyong Airport (near Gangtok)  are some of the big projects executed. The entire effort towards the development of the North East saw a major transformation and upgrade. A complete Ministry was dedicated to it. MDoNER (Ministry of Development of North-East Region). And the government of India made substantial fund allocations for the various infrastructure development and heritage preservation projects.\n\nThe genuine efforts of the current government are bound to yield results. We have seen that the North East agitation is already under some control. The politicians fomenting trouble and violence are isolated. The students and genuine local leaders are now into a peaceful protest. And are trying to put across their dilemma and agony to the government. There is bound to be a dialogue and resolution to the problem shortly. The government is keen to work out a solution. And more important, preserve the heritage, culture, and lifestyle of the region, which is what the locals really want.\n\n**3. The Bill violates the Indian constitution**\n\nThe naysayers are stating that the Bill violates the constitution on many fronts. They specifically state that the Bill violates Article 14, 15 and 21 of the constitution. The constitutional experts have presented differing opinions on this whether or not CAB violates the constitution. One tends to rely on them depending upon the political orientation. There are petitions filed before SC and in due course, the highest court will also pronounce its judgment. But in the meantime, let us read through these articles to understand what they say and draw our conclusions:\n\n**_Article 14_**\nHere is a snapshot of Article 14:\n\n<center>![article 14.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmQGzF8x7jpT3QpzAFoGVM4pPHMxXbei9ystwVgDbaXi58/article%2014.jpg)</center>\n\nThis applies equally to Indian citizens and foreigners. And so should it be. That is the Indian ethos. The soul of India. No differentiation on religion. And it not only applies to Indians but also foreigners while they are in India. Article 14 is about prohibiting any discrimination on the basis of Religion, Race, Caste, Sex, and Place of Birth. Not about citizenship rights.\n\n**_Article 15_**\nHere is a snapshot of Article 15:\n\n<center>![article 15.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmUCN6vzSxjD5HPyT4aDbXqxeB9GJnEAFcDq5swReVkKHv/article%2015.jpg)</center>\n\nIt is very evident reading through the Article that it applies to Indian citizens only. So how is CAA violating Article 15 simply beats one? CAA is in no way making any change to the status of existing Indian citizens whether Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians or any other religion/belief.\n\n**_Article 21_**\nHere is a snapshot of Article 21:\n\n<center>![article 21.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmPd1rSDaH91awenhHNcCW7iK6mU4fNMo48ALjWgL9fUrr/article%2021.jpg)</center>\n\nOne fails to understand how CAA is violating Article 21. This talks of the protection of property for all. Even if the property belongs to a non-Indian, it needs to be protected by the local governance set up. But how can this be interpreted in any way for citizenship right for any individual? As mentioned above, citizenship rights are governed by the Citizenship Act of 1955.\n\nSo going through all the three Articles it is more than amply clear that CAA in no way violates any of those. \n\n_(Now that you have the actual position before you, we would advise you to have some fun. Listen to the so-called expert opinions that have been floated in the last 7 days or so on Constitutional provisions. And judge for yourself which expert is giving a genuine opinion and who is trying to mislead for motives best known to him/her)_.\n\nThis brings us to the final allegation - the Bill is brought for 'Vote Bank Politics'.  \n\n**4. ‘Vote Bank Politics’**\n\nIt goes beyond doubt that those whose problems get resolved are likely to look favorably towards the entity that resolves their problem. Accordingly, it is but natural that all those stateless people who see an end to their nightmare in this Bill would be grateful to the existing BJP government at the center. But to say that BJP did this to impact any elections by winning some voters betrays the shallow mindset of those levying such allegations. If one were to look at it closely, one would realize that the issue had been hanging fire for more than half a century. The current opposition party (Congress) was content in exploiting the situation of these hapless people that they are allowing them to stay in India which itself is a big concession and for that, they should be grateful. On the other side, they were content to appease the Muslim vote banks. But beyond the lip service, they did precisely nothing to tackle the situation. A sizeable number of persecuted minorities were living in India bereft of any ‘Status’ and in a hapless condition. With CAA they now have a pathway to Indian citizenship and their life becomes that of Hope and Aspiration.\n\nSo if CAA has such a positive outcome, and the objections against it are so flimsy as we have seen above, then what is causing the consternation among the opposition parties and the Muslims of India. Frankly, it is NRC (National Register of Citizenship) that is the real target and not CAB. Protest and agitations for CAA are just collateral damage. In a way, it may be a blessing in disguise for the government. The protests are somewhat premature. As a result, when the bill comes, the protests would have lost steam and the common man would have somewhat of apathy for it. On the other hand, the government, because of these protests, would have a learning opportunity and would chisel/fine-tune the NRC bill upfront. The government will also be ready with quick and swift response to disturbances and protests.\n\nWe intend bringing out another article where we examine NRC and other issues. We will present our views and analysis of the core issues involved. It may not be out of place to mention that the government definitely intends to bring NRC, PCB (Population Control Bill) and UCC (Uniform Civil Code) in the months to come. All these have been hanging fire for more than half a century. And all these are going to raise a big hue and cry. \n\n**_Epilogue_**: We have brought out the article to enable the reader to sift through all sorts of data and canards being spread, and help them navigate the maze. The political parties, the clergy, the so-called experts and the myriad of channels have unleashed such a high decibel campaign barraging people with all sorts of content and opinions that facts and data are almost getting lost in this din.       "body": "<center>written by **_@ajain_** and **_@rgov_**</center><center>astute political observers</center>\n\nThe 74th session of UN General Assembly was held recently at UN headquarters at New York. Leaders from different parts of the globe congregated to meet each other, exchange views, and work out common consensus and working relationships to nurture and achieve goals adopted by the UN in their respective countries. While the august audience is all eyes and ears for leaders from amongst superpowers, there is also a very healthy interest to have a look at those making their maiden appearance. If nothing else, then to size them. Among these leaders, the newly elected Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mr. Imran Khan, was one of them. The notorious reputation of his country preceded him (Pakistan is known globally as being soft on terror). So did the condemnation of ‘Islamic Terrorism' by Donald Trump, President of the United States. These factors combined with the extraordinary situation prevailing in the part of the globe he comes from were enough of a trigger for a heightened interest in what Imran Khan had to say.\n<center>![UN General Assembly.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmYiaWZxkf56fdQxJrFoREd7icKGAserx1fqvkS2zjJTQM/UN%20General%20Assembly.jpg)</center>\nThe audience was looking for a matured speech. A measured speech. A reassuring speech. But probably that was expecting a bit too much. Imran Khan did full justice to his nation and its reputation – that of beings deceit masters and sponsors of terrorism across the globe. Not sure whether to ‘Plead’ or to ‘Threaten’. Belligerence was written all over his speech. Imran Khan desperately tried to be statesmanlike. But, little did he realize that a speech with glaring data errors or omissions, a speech that points fingers at the world rather than inspires, a speech that seeks compassion and understanding using the language of threat and blackmail, and, a speech made up of half-truths and smart falsehoods, cannot make the grade of a Statesman. Ultimately, Imran Khan ended up threatening the world with nuclear blackmail. In a game of brinkmanship, if he had any thoughts of acquiring the stature of a statesman, it was way short of the mark. Here is a fact check on the issues raised by him during the speech. Imran Khan raised four issues in his speech. We critically examine what he said and where the facts and data lie.\n\n**1. Climate Change:** The first issue raised by him was on climate change. Imran Khan has been less than honest in taking up this issue. He laments that many nations are not doing enough, even though they are the major contributors to the current state of carbon gas emission. He is less than honest here. While he blames others, he cites resource constraint as the bottleneck when it comes to Pakistan’s performance. Saying that Pakistan has planted 1 billion trees and plans to further plant 10 billion, serves very little purpose. Achieving climate change targets by 2030, as defined in the Paris Agreement, would require an order of magnitude more planning and effort than what Pakistan has shown so far. Imran Khan would do well to go back and read INDCs (*Intended Nationally Determined Contributions*) submitted by his Government to the UN. It should shock him, to say the least. There is no substance in it. Nowhere near what is required to achieve the 2030 objectives. As for the funds, Mr. Khan, Paris Agreement established a global fund that offers project-based funding for ‘Climate Change Action’. It supports nations where affordability is a question. Pakistan got no funding simply because it has neither submitted any detailed plans nor any specific project proposals. The country is used to getting funds for one thing and using it for an altogether different purpose. Perhaps, project-specific funding arrangement does not suit Pakistan. \n\n**2. Money Laundering:** The second issue raised by Imran Khan was money laundering. This malaise has been a bane to many societies, not just Pakistan. It has been in existence for many decades now, even in Pakistan. The labyrinth of laws everywhere enabled people to successfully dodge the system and escape paying their dues. Imran Khan was at pains to paint the developed world as the beneficiary and hence the culprit. Very misleading. The malaise afflicts the developed world as well. It is all very easy to blame others. Imran Khan needs to look inwards. He needs to first assess where Pakistan stands with respect to their own laws and recovering illicit wealth within their own country. The track record of Pakistan on this front, over the years, has been abysmal. \n\nThe next two points were the more important ones for Imran Khan. Islamophobia and Kashmir. Unfortunately, on these two very points, he got derailed very badly. \n\n**3. Islamophobia:** Imran Khan accuses the world of Islamophobia and goes on to make a case that Islam has been more wronged than being an aggressor. He goes on to say that Islam is a tolerant and peaceful religion. Maybe. But the data points do not support him. Let’s do a fact check. \n\nThe world never looked at Islam with any reservations. But over time, actions on part of the followers of the religion, led societies across the globe to change their outlook. Let’s take the UK for instance. This is the country where Imran Khan got exposed to western civilization and culture. So much so that he even married a British lady. We take him back to the late '60s when as a teenager he went to UK for his education. Let him compare it with what he sees around him today in the UK. As a young teenager in 60s did he or his family ever feel threatened by the overpowering presence of Britishers and non-Muslim religions around them? I dare say no, for otherwise he would have never married a British lady and fathered two sons with her. But can he say that for non-Muslims today? Especially in cities where the Muslim population has grown to a sizeable percentage - Birmingham (21% plus Muslims), Bradford (25%), Luton (25%), Manchester(16%) to name a few. And, can he say the same for large parts within London, for instance, Finsbury, Regent’s Park, Edgeware Road, etc. What is it about the religion that when the Muslim population goes up from about 700,000 or so in 1970 (about 1.3%) to about 4,000,000 or so in 2019 (5% plus) and forms a sizeable portion in a particular city (15% plus), sweeping changes take place in societies on tolerance front? Imran Khan, that is just the UK. The situation is not much different in France, Germany, Belgium, and many more countries in Europe and Scandinavia. It also has to be noted that many of these countries opened their arms and hearts to welcome the refugees, predominantly Muslims. And what do these people do – rape, theft, general social disruption. And, you expect the world to not take a note of all this? It is wishful thinking.\n\nThe story in Imran Khan’s own country is even more horrific. India and Pakistan have the same cultural heritage. In 1947, both became separate countries through a partition. And then, what happened? Minorities were about 23% of Pakistan population in 1947 (15% if we exclude Bangladesh). It has come down to around 3.7% (*based on a report compiled by the European Parliament in Jun 2019 - https://eptoday.com/files/Religious%20Minorities%20Report.pdf. There are a plethora of data, studies, and reports available on this. It is not an isolated observation*). It did not stop here. Pakistan has gone through to extreme where even sects of Muslims are today considered as non-Muslims. The case of Ahmadiyya. It is a pity that the only real Nobel Laureate that Pakistan has seen - Dr. Abdus Salam - left the country in a huff once the religion of this sect was disenfranchised by Pakistan (**_Dr. Salam was an Ahmadiyya_**). Is this the example that Imran Khan had in mind when he talked about tolerance?\n\nMr. Imran Khan was at pains to point out that Muslim youths take up arms or respond through violence because their voice is not heard leading to frustration and anger. How very misplaced and misleading. Even a cursory glance across what is happening in the globe today will reveal that the statement is grossly wrong. Can he tell why Muslims in Pakistan are frustrated? About 100 plus children were killed by gunmen in Peshawar. Was that the job of a frustrated Muslim youth? And why Muslims in China, Sweden, UK, Germany, France, Australia, New Zealand are all frustrated.  And, the flip side of the argument – how come the same Muslim youth do not get frustrated and desperate seeing what is happening to Muslims in Uighur in China? So, what is causing all this? Is it because the whole upbringing and education are not suitable or up to the par with what is required by the fast-changing world causing them to fall behind in society leading to their frustration and anger? Or is it because the rigidity in the religion doesn't allow the spiritual growth of the individual? Or is it because the helpless state in which the Muslim youth find themselves, is a happy hunting ground exploited by organized terrorists? Mr. Imran Khan would have been better served if he had provided concrete answers to these questions and offered solutions to these problems, rather than justifying the radicalization of Islamic youth and blaming the same on Islamophobia. What goes on in Madrasas (*aka brainwashing*) is well-known and well documented globally. \n\nImran Khan talks of suicide bombers and makes a case to delink religion from it. He mentions Tamil Tigers, Japanese pilots, going on suicide missions. Mind you, Mr. Khan, these and such missions did not happen due to religious strife or disagreements. They happened due to nationalistic fervor. History is replete with such examples. No one remembers Ashfaqullah Khan (*Kakori train dacoity in pre-independence India – hope your memory does not fail you*) as a Muslim fanatic. No one remembers Hamid Gul  (*1965 war*) as a Muslim fanatic even though what he did was no less suicidal. They are remembered as national heroes. But when young blood goes on a suicide mission to take revenge on religious grounds or religious discourse, then the religion cannot escape responsibility. When there is an organized mission to train young boys and girls to become suicide bombers, you cannot get away by saying it is their anger and frustration. So please, do not play the ‘victim card’.\n\nFinally, take your own speech, Mr. Imran Khan. You made an impassioned plea to others for understanding Islam, but you yourself displayed scant respect to other societies. Talking of Hijab, you wanted people to understand and respect your culture. But in the same breath, you were not very charitable to other societies for the dressing habits of their women. There was scorn in your voice towards their dressing habits. Is this your tolerance on display? And, have you, or your fraternity, ever paused to think why there has been an objection or suspicion to Hijab? The answer probably is ‘no’.\n\nThe genesis of Islamophobia Imran Khan does not lie in other religions nurturing any hatred or intolerance towards Islam. Instead, it lies in the acts of commission and omission by your religion or those who preach and guide the practice of your religion. So, when a Hijab transcends the boundaries of being a dress for a woman to being a tool for defeating the security and vigilance apparatus, then concerns are raised. When religious discourse behind secretive walls transcends into the domain of preaching hatred to other religions or making a mockery of their beliefs or culture, the concerns are raised. And, when these concerns are raised, the response from your religion or the spokespersons of your religion is to portray it all as religious blasphemy. Even calling for the baying of blood. It is this phenomenon that leads to genuine misgivings. As a result, religion gets a bad name and is then viewed with suspicion. It is time for some honest soul searching in your religious world. Trust me, for every positive step that you come up with after the soul searching, the world will be only too glad to go three steps with you.\n\n**4. The Kashmir Issue:**  Finally, the Kashmir issue. This probably was the main issue Imran Khan wanted to raise. But going by all that preceded his address to UNGA, he was somewhat uncomfortable going with it as the singular point of address.  And that also explains why he overshot his allotted time so much despite repeated reminders that his time was over.\n\nWhen it comes to Kashmir, there has been a consistent bundle of lies that Pakistan has been peddling over the last so many decades. These lies stand exposed over and over again on many forums. But Pakistan still keeps peddling them in the hope that consistent repetition of lies will give them a cloak of credibility someday. Imran Khan follows the tradition.\n\nPakistan keeps harping on the right to self-determination by Kashmiri people. Towards this end, they always point to the referendum which was to be conducted in Kashmir. Pakistan keeps citing the UN resolution to this effect. Imran Khan also did it. But sadly, while Pakistan remembers the ‘referendum’ part, it suffers amnesia on conditions preceding the referendum. Christine Fair explained that Pakistan has been blaming India all these years, but the fact of the matter is that they themselves are the ones who are in breach of the UN resolution.\n\nWe look at the Kashmir situation critically and holistically. First the geography. Talks for resolution of the same happen directly between the two. The other three form the issue between India and Pakistan. \n\nKashmir was an independent state in 1947. Pakistan always wanted Kashmir to merge with them but the ruler was unwilling. Pakistan then attacked Kashmir immediately after 15th August 1947 (*Razakars – supposedly freedom fighters*) to annex it. The ruler of the state, Maharaja Hari Singh, signed an Instrument of Accession with India. The attack on Kashmir was immediately retaliated by the Indian Army once the Instrument of Accession was signed. Effectively this was the first war that was fought between India and Pakistan. A cease-fire was called before the Indian army could complete its task of pushing back the infiltrators all the way. It led to an administrative split of the state - India administered and Pakistan administered. Matters went to the UN Security Council. UN passed a resolution (http://unscr.com/en/resolutions/doc/47) as explained in the YouTube video above. Pakistan agreed to it but never implemented the same. On the contrary, Pakistan engaged in a proxy war with India on Kashmir ever since. Not only this, Pakistan has unilaterally handed over a portion of the territory of the erstwhile State to China. Pakistan had no jurisdiction to do such a thing. The situation has been further complicated as China has started investing in the area on military infrastructure knowing full well that it is a territory under dispute. India has repeatedly told China and Pakistan about the same. India has also refused to participate in Chinese CPEC or OBOR initiatives precisely because of this issue. It is no secret that China’s supports Pakistan on Kashmir due to these strategic reasons. China knows very well the absurdity of Pakistan citing UN resolution but themselves being in breach of the same. \n\nWe move on from geography. The state was ruled in 1947 by Maharaja Hari Singh, who was a Hindu ruler. The population consisted of a majority of Muslims but had a very sizeable number of non-Muslims. Even within Muslims the bulk was not the hardcore Islamic fundamentalists but was more towards the Sufi Islam, which is softer and more tolerant. Pakistan would obviously have none of it and wanted to forcibly alter the character through sponsoring terrorism in the state. Kashmiri Muslims witnessed diktats towards enforcing strict Islamic traditions and lifestyles, aided and abetted by terrorist activities driven from across the border. Any moderate voice was silenced. Further, in the beginning '90s, non-Muslims were driven out of the state by terrorist sponsored brutal ethnic cleansing. It was a deliberate attempt to alter the demography of the state with ulterior motives. \n\nDue to all these developments, the people of Jammu and Kashmir have paid a very heavy price in terms of being left out of mainstream development, in terms of being displaced from their homeland, and in terms of radicalization of their culture and traditions. Pakistan was inflicting all this damage through cross border terrorism. They were also helped corrupt dynasties who engaged in doublespeak and appropriated among themselves an enormous amount of funds through unprecedented corruption, favoritism and nepotism. Abrogation of article 370, which was a temporary provision in the Indian constitution, dealt a severe blow to this grand design. It has changed the dynamics and for the first-time real power is getting into the hands of people. As we write this article, the government of India has announced elections for block development councils in the state of J & K (http://ceojammukashmir.nic.in/pdf/BDC_2019/PressNote29.09.2019.pdf). There are a total of 316 blocks across the state where elections are going to be held. This is ‘Real’ power to people. \n\nPakistan is raising a hue and cry as they want to desperately revive their channels of disruption rendered ineffective due to clampdown and strict vigilance after August 5th. Unable to make much headway, Pakistan is resorting to the propaganda of human rights violation. (This is a big humbug. Firstly, there are no human right violations taking place. And secondly, if human rights violation was really the issue, then Pakistan should have been up in arms against China where Muslim traditions, religion, and culture are being strongly clamped down upon in Uighur).  \n\nGlobal powers have seen through Pakistani propaganda. Imran Khan is on record accepting that they haven't got much support from the global community. In line with its DNA, Pakistan is thus upping their ante by raising the decibels of Nuclear blackmail and trying to give it some semblance of legitimacy by putting a cloak of frustration and desperation out of helplessness. The bloodbath that Imran Khan talks about, which made headlines as shown in the picture below, is not an anticipation. It is rather a statement of his intent. Far from redeeming his nation in eyes of global fraternity, Imran Khan has ended up reinforcing forcefully what the world, in general, thinks Pakistan is – Terroristan, (as one Foreign Minister put it). The world at large, and the UN delegates, in particular, are not so naïve as to miss it. I dare say it puts the global community on a challenging spot.       "title": "India’s Tryst With Destiny - can Modi lead India to its date with Destiny?",

They are a rare phenomenon. But such leaders can change the course of a nation and define its destiny. India has been lucky to have witnessed two such leaders since 1947. In the opinion of the authors, both of them can be called charismatic leaders. Indira Gandhi and Narendra Modi. But India still is far away from its destiny. We take a closer look at the two leaders.\n\n<center>![Combined.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmNrtT1ZbJ3oMHAtjBk9qULRiRsH58SW33oVfZuhLY6SNN/Combined.jpg)</center>\n\nIn January 1966, India saw the emergence of Indira Gandhi as the 5th Prime Minister of India. Her appearance on the national canvas happened in the wake of some tragic circumstances for India. (India had lost its sitting Primer Minister, Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri when he was on travel abroad). While the nation was stunned and was mourning, Indira got propelled into the position as the next Prime Minister. She started on shaky ground. Widely seen as a compromise candidate between two rival factions of the ruling Congress party. In the eyes of people, and, in the opinion of political pundits, Indira was a temporary arrangement. She was seen as a puppet in the hands of her party stalwarts known as **‘the syndicate’**.\n\nIndira, however, had different designs. She gradually worked her way up to not only consolidate her grip on the party but she also warmed her way into the hearts of Indian people. In a short time, she was firmly in the saddle. She garnered enough confidence to not only marginalize the stalwarts but she went on to take some path-breaking decisions. Abolition of Privy Purses, Bank Nationalization (14 of the largest banks were nationalized) and her program ‘Garibi Hatao' (Alleviating Poverty in India) endeared her to masses. The crowning glory, of course, was the war with Pakistan in 1971. Indira was widely seen as the architect of India’s victory. It led to the formation of Bangladesh as a separate country (formerly it was a part of Pakistan, known as ‘East Pakistan’). People believed in her. People felt she was a messiah who will take India to its destiny. That she will finally deliver on the promise of India’s ‘tryst with destiny’ that her father talked about in August 1947.\n\nIndira made giant strides. Her stature grew in leaps in bounds. And, so did the aspirations and belief of people. This took Indira to the zenith of her popularity with charisma painted all over. She had achieved all this in a short span of 5 years. However, the most difficult challenge comes when you are perceptibly at the high point of your popularity and achievement. Does it become your highest point and you start to slide downwards? Or do you redefine your coordinates and move to the next higher orbit. That is the key. As defined in his book ‘Only the Paranoid Survive’, by **Andy Grove** (_Andrew S Grove was the President and CEO of Intel Corporation. The book was published in 1998 but the core message is very relevant even today_).\n\nIn the years that followed in 1971, Indira made her own mistakes. Many of them were extremely significant. Without argument, the most significant of her mistakes was the proclamation of Emergency in June 1975. More than the emergency itself, the context in which it was proclaimed, made it even more monster-like. To this day it remains as the darkest chapter of India’s democracy.\n<center>![Emergency.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmQTWKXq2xPMgcsmCtzkkkv9dyuUbsYgbd9xArx54dgQfe/Emergency.jpg)</center>\nIndira Gandhi went through a political roller coaster after that. To her credit, Indira fought politically and came back admirably. But, going forward she faced a lot of ups and downs. Her sins catching up with her now and then. Finally, in the year 1984, she met a violent and tragic end. Indira Gandhi was assassinated in October 1984. A sad day for she deserved better. Her charisma, however, survived her. Such was her exalted status globally that in 1999 she was named as the ‘Woman of the millennium’ by BBC.\n\nThe question then is whether she could take the nation to its destiny? Or, was she even on track towards that when she was assassinated?  The answer is a big ‘No’. When Nehru delivered the words ‘Tryst With Destiny’ he went on to state that the solemn moment has arrived when the soul of a nation, long suppressed, finds utterance. Let alone achieve what was said, India did not start its journey on that path at all during Indira’s regime. During the 18 years that she was in power (save three years from Jan 1977 to Jan 1980 when she was out of power), India hurtled down firmly on the path of corruption, favoritism, nepotism, and a dynastic democracy. All norms of democracy, and all pillars of the nation, were systematically destroyed and trampled upon. Have a look.\n\n1. The Congress party graduated from being a democratic party to becoming a dynasty (family-driven) party. It led to mushrooming of many other dynasty driven political outfits in India across the entire length and breadth of the nation. A malaise India suffers to this day.\n2. The federal structures were trampled upon when state governments were dismissed on slightest of pretexts by invoking President’s rule. During Indira Gandhi's tenure as many as 35 times, Article 356 was invoked to dismiss duly elected state governments.\n3. Electoral malpractices took root in the country - cash for votes, booth capturing, manipulation of voter lists, violence, etc. - became the norm rather than the exception. \n4. Bureaucracy was made pliant through unprecedented favoritism and nepotism. The Swamp, as is globally talked about these days, made its appearance and became widespread.\n5. The fountainhead of all corruption – nexus between politician and industrialists – emerged on the national scene and in due course took very strong roots in the country. This monster became bigger and bigger over time. The advent of a conceptual foundation for the corruption and fraud cases that the country is suffering from today, can be attributed to her times. Over the years it has become more sophisticated and perfected.\n\nThus, far from discovering the soul of the nation and finding its utterance, under Indira’s regime the soul of the nation and the fabric of the society was destroyed and blown to smithereens. This was certainly not the destiny of India and neither was this India’s heritage. In the diagram above on the strategic inflection curve, Indira Gandhi was on a slide path (_the dotted line shown in the diagram above, rather than rebooting herself on the strategic inflection point and ride the next curve_). No questions about that. \n\nAlmost 18 years down the line came a man from the other side of the political spectrum. This man was a young adult when Indira first became the Prime Minister. He was around 16 years of age in 1966. Unlike Indira Gandhi, who came from the elite class with a heavy influence of Western culture, and, belonging to a rich and known family, this man came from humble origins from interior rural India. He came from a typical family from the poorer section of the society. No fancy education, no fancy lifestyle, no fancy hobbies and no social presence in the elite circles. A typical son of the soil, working his way up through sheer hard work and dedication. This man saw life in India in real terms at very close quarters. No wonder, over the years, this man emerged as a dyed-in-wool nationalist with strong linkages to India’s culture and heritage. And, a very fine understanding of Indian society across the length and breadth of the nation. A man of frugal means, simple living and, strong desire. He had a dream to do good for the country. Not relating to what he saw around him, and not in agreement with the way this great nation and the society had evolved under various rules so far, this man believed that India’s destiny is different. Naturally, he gravitated towards the other side of political discourse. He engaged himself wholeheartedly to the cause.  In due course, he became part of a political set up known today as Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) today. The BJP is the political opposition to Indira's Congress party.\n<center>![Namo Composite.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmUy5FCddskozsvoC83mG8vczq4E6wSi7N7X4gP59zvRQy/Namo%20Composite.jpg)</center>\nThis man was **Narendra Damodardas Modi**. Or Modi, as he is respectfully and affectionately known across the nation and the globe. Modi was propelled onto the center stage of politics in equally violent and tragic circumstances. He came into headlines in the wake of Gujarat riots in 2002. Before Modi could even realize, he got painted as murderer, monster, killer, religious fanatic and what not. Fairly and squarely blamed for the deaths of people during the Gujarat riots of 2002. He had just become the Chief Minister of the state of Gujarat when riots happened due to events totally unrelated to him. And, despite Modi’s best efforts, in an emotionally charged atmosphere, events escalated leading to riots. \n\nThe knives were out for Modi. There was an unprecedented effort by the Congress party to write his political obituary. It was a relentless campaign against him of a magnitude never seen before in India. Aided and abetted by the compromised media (commonly referred to as ‘Lutyen’s gang’ or ‘Khan market’ gang in Delhi). The so-called intelligentsia, who had thrived on the largesse of the dynasty of Indira and the ecosystem of nepotism and corruption, also joined in the chorus baying for his blood. This man, however, was made of sterner stuff. Something which the opponents had not bargained for. The more they beat him, the stronger and more popular he emerged. Not only Modi took his state Gujarat to the top league in India, but he also diligently cleared his name of all wrongdoings through the land mined maze of legal cases, inquiry commissions, intelligence reports, and what not – you name it. Modi rose Sphinx-like.  He caught the imagination of the people winning their confidence and admiration over the years. Such was his aura and charisma over the years that people of his state kept re-electing him repeatedly. Modi became the Chief Minister of the Gujarat state assembly midway through the term, sometime in 2000/2001. He got re-elected in 2002, followed by 2007 and then again in 2012. Somewhere during this period (2010 to 2014), Modi’s popularity and charisma started to transcend the state boundaries. And, I dare say even the national boundaries. So much so, that he was popularly perceived by people as the Prime Ministerial candidate for India in 2014. Love him or hate him. But you just could not ignore him. Such was his presence on the political scene. \n\nAs we approached 2014, and when the crunch time came, Modi was head and shoulders above anyone else in the race to become the Prime Minister, either within or outside his party. There was no leader equivalent to the stature and charisma of Modi. The sitting Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was a Pygmy in contrast to the commanding stature of Modi. And L K Advani, the tall leader of BJP (from Modi's own party and widely perceived to be Modi's mentor as well along with Atal Ji) was also no match for Modi. Eventually, Modi went on to beat the forecasts of all the poll pundits, the established media, vested interest groups, in India and abroad. And, even the rival factions within his party led by no other than the BJP stalwart. Modi won the elections with a clear majority, something that India had not seen for the last three decades. His party BJP won 282 seats on its own surpassing the midway mark of 272. Modi was sworn in as the 14th Prime Minister of India in May 2014. Over the years, based on his performance, his respect and popularity kept growing.  Not just nationally, but internationally as well. The performance has been truly remarkable. The various schemes launched by his government have delivered benefits to the poor at ground level. Benefits in terms of basic needs – shelter, cooking gas for households, electricity to every household, making India open defecation free - and a host of other schemes have delivered benefits to every stratum of the society. From a child yet unborn (pregnant mothers) to old age. Along with all these achievements on the domestic front, he has also raised the profile of India across the globe. The world community looks up to India today for what the country is capable of doing in the years to come. \n\nAll this augurs very well for the country and Modi personally also. No wonder, when the crunch time came again in 2019 Modi won the elections hands down. The win came notwithstanding a highly visible and an extremely vicious no holds barred campaign run by the opposition. The entire opposition ganged up against Modi despite their differences and clash of interests. Modi's party BJP nevertheless came back with an even bigger majority of 303 seats as against 282 in 2014. (The authors had predicted Modi victory of this magnitude in their article published here in April 2019 - https://steemit.com/politics/@rgov/india-election-analysis-and-forecast-the-big-picture-and-final-projection).\n\nSo, where does Modi go from here? This question assumes great significance. And is much bigger then many would perceive it to be. In terms of ‘Strategic Inflection Curve’ talked about above, does Modi whittle away as a dotted downward spiral (as was the case of Indira Gandhi) or does he realign his coordinates and catapults on to the next curve and higher orbit. Only time can settle this debate conclusively. However, that does not prevent us from critically examining the data points available to us and make an informed assessment on the question – Is he on track?   As the authors see it, and, as the data suggests, Modi is clearly headed towards redefining the coordinates and mounting the next curve rather than whittle away.\n\nModi had a clear thought process and a plan towards taking India to global heights. A nation has no existence or meaning in the absence of its constituents. So essentially it is a question of how Modi takes Indians through a path of evolution in the global society. This evolutionary path is the journey of the nation towards its destiny. Somewhere along the line, a contour emerges, and, that would be India achieving its destiny.\n\nIn terms of famous Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, an individual seeks fulfillment on five needs – Physiological, safety, belongingness and love, Esteem, and Self-actualization. In the first term, 2014 – 19, Modi has addressed the physiological and safety needs (https://steemit.com/india/@ajain/maslow-s-hierarchy-in-context-of-nation-s-governance-objective). An ideal state may not have been achieved, but a substantial and significant dent has certainly been made. (The authors have come out with detailed articles on this front. The foundation for the same was laid in the first term itself. If the actions taken by Modi 2.0 are any indication, then Modi has mounted the next orbit on the strategic inflection curve. In a short period of 100 days, some extremely critical and significant decisions have already been taken. These decisions have been made a reality with legislative action for the same having been taken with a successful outcome. The corresponding legislative bills have been passed in both houses with clear and thumping majority. They have today become the law of the land.\n\n1. The Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Bill, 2019 (or Triple Talaq Bill as it is commonly referred to as). The bill makes the practice of triple talaq a cognizable and punishable offense. A practice of Triple Talaq had evolved into inhuman and undignified dimensions in India. It has been very aptly put by the government. This bill is not about an affront to Muslim personal law. It is instead about the dignity of women, justice to women, and protection of women’s rights. All these fundamental rights are a part of Indian constitution but an anomaly had crept in certain sections were allowed to override these due to appeasement politics.  \n2. The Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Amendment Bill, 2019 was passed in Parliament (both houses). This is another milestone action. It is meant to give teeth to law enforcement agencies in tackling terrorism. If there is one scourge that India has experienced an extreme overdose off, it is the scourge of Terrorism. More so, in the last 35 years. 1000s of innocent lives have been lost and billions of $ worth damages have taken place. Not to mention the softer issues of emotional turmoil with the people at large. Coupled with the National Investigation Agency (Amendment) Bill, 2019 that has also been passed, Modi 2.0 government has provided a decisive and comprehensive framework for dealing with this problem. Action on these two bills had been pending for a long time due to appeasement politics of erstwhile governments even when they had a clear political mandate. Through this measure, Modi has also signaled to the global organizations and power centers that he means business on the front of terrorism. Modi has been raising the issue of terrorism on practically all international forums and in one on one meets with global leaders. This scourge has international dimensions and there would be few countries in the world that have not been affected by it. Yet for reasons best known to the global community, enough action to counter-terrorism has not been forthcoming. Modi has put other governments on notice on this.\n3. The biggest and boldest action has happened on the front of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K). There were 564 princely states in India besides Sikkim at the time of transfer of power in August 1947. All 563 states except J&K were successfully merged with India. Only one state J&K remained. This one state had been eluding a definite solution for the last more than 70 years. Over the years it became a complicated issue with many vested interests and politics taking over. Not just within India but internationally as well. The most notable problem being the Ethnic cleansing of minority community (Hindus) from the state. And the other being the illegal occupation of a part of the state by China willingly abetted by Pakistan. The Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Bill, 2019 was introduced and passed by Parliament in August 2019. Jammu and Kashmir has been fully integrated with India, something that should have happened at the time of integrating the other princely states in 1947–48 time frame. Modi 2.0 has taken the bull by the horn. The bill sets right the many anomalies that were created by acts of omission and commission by the powers in 1950 time frame and were kept that way for more than seven decades by the powers that followed, to suit the vested interests and lobbies. While these vested interests and lobbies gained in hefty terms the people of Kashmir and the country lost very heavily over the years. It is but natural that these are the very people (vested interests and lobbies) who are making a huge noise and are trying to raise a hue and cry at any and every place. At any and every forum and platform. And in any and every content format, fake news included. Vested interests and lobbies include countries like Pakistan and China. But for all their labor they are getting limited or no success. As we pen down this article the State is fast returning to normalcy, much to the chagrin of these groups. The authors have no doubt that not only things will be normal soon, but the vested interests and lobbies will also be exposed and defeated. The people will experience the power of democracy, vastly improved standard of living and a much better lifestyle. And we should not forget the significant impact on the territorial integrity of the nation that had come under threat in the last few decades due to the soft approach of the governments in power. In a way, the task is still only half done. The issue of POK (Pakistan Occupied Kashmir as it is commonly called) remains to be resolved. And that includes a portion that is called Aksai Chin which Pakistan has allowed China to occupy illegally. It will not be long before the issue comes center stage, knowing the way Modi works.\n\nThe Modi 2.0 juggernaut is on the move. The above is by no means the only focus and result areas. Efforts are on way to resolve many other ticklish issues that have important ramifications for the country. The resolution of Ayodhya dispute (Ram Janam Bhoomi issue) and the implementation of NRC (National Register of Citizenship), are at differing stages of finding/implementing a solution. The authors are confident results will come sooner rather than later. The Supreme Court of India has set upon itself the task of coming up with a judgment on this ticklish issue by 18th November. And the NRC is being implemented in Assam as the first case. Already many other states are coming forward to look at NRC and probably take it up for implementation in the near future. \n\nThe above are not the only issues. There are many other fronts on which the Modi 2.0 juggernaut is moving. \n \n•\tModi has defined a vision for India to become a $ 5 trillion economy by 2025. As usual, the knives are out. Naysayers are making a mockery of the same. But needless to say, the percentage of these naysayers is considerably less this time. On the other hand, the ‘Vision’ is inspiring a very large proportion of the people. \n•\tBringing fraudsters and corrupt to justice is another important action point. People who committed fraud against the nation and country’s economy, are being brought to book. With increased cooperation from recipient nations for illegal money, the net has been cast far and wide. It is becoming very difficult to evade the same. Results are already showing with important people and/or their accomplices having been put behind bars. Going forward things are happening at a much faster pace. \n•\tThe actions initiated under Modi 1.0 on agrarian reforms are getting into fruition stage. They are expected to cross the basic threshold level. It will show a very sharp acceleration after that. India lives in rural areas. We have heard this for decades. It is for the first time that there is a government that is working towards making the lives better for rural India and getting them to participate in the nations march towards higher ends.\n•\tIndia has upped the ante on the international front. With the achievements of the earlier term under their belt, the Modi 2.0 is dealing with absolute confidence in the global arena. There is a relentless pursuit of defining win-win relationships. Gone are the days of diffident and apologetic diplomacy where India used to acquiesce under pressure. Today’s India is assertive in a positive way.\n•\tAs we go to the press, India has unleashed significant financial reforms towards unshackling the economy and making it attractive to investment and growth within and outside. While the political opposition is hitting out at the reforms, the expert opinion globally is undivided in terms of the significant positive impact these reforms will have on the Indian economy. In turn, it will have an impact on the well being of individuals.\n\nNotwithstanding all that has been said above, perhaps the most significant change starting to become visible in the country is in terms of ‘GenNext' becoming curious about India's heritage. There is a growing realization that our roots go back to more than 5000 years and not a few centuries only. There is an effort by the government to bring to the fore the saga of our heroes from decades-old, to centuries-old to millenniums old. This is being done by the government without any religious, regional, or political bias. So we see a Chhatrapati Shivaji Statue coming up near Mumbai, A Sardar Patel statue already put up in Gujarat. There is a war memorial that has come up in Delhi to honor the brave soldiers of our nation. A museum on Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose has been set up in Red Fort at Delhi. Documents and Memorabilia on Netaji from all over the world have been collected and displayed in the museum. A fitting tribute to this brave son of the soil. Many consider him to be the first Prime Minister of India in exile. Baba Saheb Ambedkar, Veer Savarkar, and many others are getting their due recognition and appropriate place in history. Religious places and festivals are being celebrated in the right spirit and fervor. Very recently, the Kumbh Mela was organized in Prayagraj (formerly called Allahabad). The biggest congregation of human beings on the earth. In about a month some 120 million-plus people congregated in one place. All of it is having an impact on India's ‘GenNext' and even the middle generation. It is an eye-opener for them as regards the rich culture and heritage of our nation. Can belongingness, love, esteem, and self-actualization be far behind? The answer is a resounding ‘No'.  This to the mind of authors will be India meeting its destiny soon. This will be the soul of a nation, long suppressed, finding utterance. \n\nHowever, the journey will not be complete without India finding its rightful place in the global leadership conundrum. Modi has worked on it from day one of his coming to power and today India has a lot to show by way of results. Modi was not only denied a Visa by the US in 2005, but his existing Visa was also revoked in 2005. From that stage to now, the scenario has changed 180⁰. Today Modi is considered as one of the most influential and powerful leaders across the globe. In a poll conducted in June 2019 by British Herald Magazine, Modi was polled as the most influential leader ahead of Vladimir Putin, Donald Trump, and Xi Jinping. But polls and surveys notwithstanding, here are some tangible results that reveal Modi emerging as a global leader in the top league.\n\n1.\tIn September 2014 the UN adopted a resolution declaring a Yoga Day to be celebrated across the globe on every June 21st since 2015. The world has paid an extremely heavy cost for the same. Modi has raised the issue vociferously at UN and also at all his one to one meetings with global leaders or small groups like SCO, SAARC, BRICS, etc. He has been successful in shaking the world and today there is some sense of urgency among world bodies to move towards controlling this menace.  \n\nThe above are only some of the measures at the global level where India is asserting itself to the benefit of the global community. Modi has gone to countries and places no other Indian Prime Minister has been to. For instance Mangolia, Bahrain, Russia’s Far East. It automatically connects India to these places and people.  These efforts and results thereof are being acknowledged also by the global community. In the last five years plus Modi has been given the highest civilian award and honor by quite a few countries. Order of the Holy Apostle Andrew the First, the highest civilian award of Russia. Zayed Medal by UAE. Rule of Nishan Izzuddeen, the highest civil honor in Maldives. Grand Collar of the State of Palestine by Palestine Government. King Abdulaziz Sash Award, the highest civilian honor in Saudi Arabia. Amir Amanullah Khan Award by Afghanistan.And so on. Many of these awards have been given by Muslim countries which directly negates the hindu fanatic narrative falsely spread against Modi and India. All this is softly pushing India into prominence globally and a soft leadership position across the globe.\n\nSo, in the final analysis, where do we stand. Can Modi take India to its destiny? In the eyes of the author, and as the data points above show, there is no doubt. Modi is actually well on his way towards achieving it.
