      "body": "For the last twenty months I’ve been trading crypto-currencies (BTC, ETH, XMR, GNT…). I’ve made quite good results as a beginner but also did a bunch of mistakes that today cost me several hundreds bucks. To cut my loss and maximize my profit, I decided to gather as much information as possible, by reading documentation, listening to podcasts, etc… And I elaborated a simple yet accurate strategy to properly trade Bitcoin & altcoins as a beginner. \n\n\nDISCLAIMER: I do not pretend to have found THE strategy that will make you a millionaire. This article is neither a financial advice nor an incentive to buy any altcoins. The reader takes full responsibility of his actions. \n\n\nFeel free to comment down below your thoughts about this strategy. \n\n\n\nThis is a very straightforward threefold plan. First fold is for the long-run, second for the mid-run, third is for the short-run. \n\n\nNOTE: I will publish the mid-run and short-run strategy soon. The links will be available in this article.  \n\nThe main idea is to diversify your investments, by pre-defining some rules that will guide your choice in the future. Not only is it a plan that helps you choose you currency but it’s also a plan that predefines the maximum amount of money you will put in an investment (for the beginner, theses notions are risk management and position sizing). This will help you to limit your loss and maximize your profit by having a proper plan to exit a trade. \n\n\n\nInvesting in the long run means great returns. The main idea is to invest in solid projects that will soar in the next few months. You can find these coins/projects mainly on Cryptopia. Beware that many coins are shitcoins (roughly 70%, they can soar up too though but you don’t want to invest in them).\n\n\nCapital allocated\n\nFirst of all, you have to allocate a certain percentage of your portfolio to the long-run trading. Personally, I roughly allocate 33% of my total portfolio to invest in the long run. Feel free to set it on your own. Remember that this number shouldn’t be too large since the capital invested won’t move for several months, but at the same time keep in mind that the capital allocated must be consequent enough to allow you great returns. \n\n\nFinding good setups\n\nTo find a solid project, check whether the developer team is active and keeps developing the project. If not, go away as the price could plummet. Then, check their roadmap/whitelist. They should have a well-defined path to implement their technology. However, keep in mind that even if they have all this information you must only invest in projects you think one day will be useful in the real world. More importantly, if you think it will have real-world application then it is likely that other people will find it useful too. Indeed, that’s probably the most capital thing you may want to understand: whether the project will have one day real-world application, what matters is whether or not people think the project will have an application. If so, the coin will soar. Think about the market’s psychology. \n\n\nPosition sizing & risk management\n\nOnce you have found a great project, you must define how much you will place on this project and define your exit plan. Out of the amount of capital you dedicated to long-term trading, you should not exceed 30% of capital placed in one single trade. I think it is a great compromise between great returns and management risks. This also means that you will engage roughly 1/10 of your total capital to a long-term investment. \n\nAs for exiting the trade, I won’t place a sell order. The main idea is to hold no matter what happens. Just leave the money apart on a cold wallet and wait months until the project is developed. However, to exit successfully the trade and maximize your profit, I recommend you this strategy: \n\n•\t30% of the capital allocated is sold after a 60% profit\n•\tAnother 30% of the capital allocated is sold after a 80% profit\n•\tThe last 40% sold after a 100% profit\n\n\nRemember: the main problem with beginners is that they are too greedy. Don’t fall in that trap. Even if you think it can go far beyond your take profit order, always retire a part of your capital. Once you see that the price is declining, sell. You will be less frustrated if you miss an opportunity than if you lose your profit.",

Actually, the very fact that FED governor Janet Yellen has decided to tighten the monetary policy by gradually rising the interest rates is compelling evidence that a crash on the traditional markets may occur in the next few weeks. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>\n<p><img src=\"http://static3.businessinsider.com/image/5671722572f2c15d028b5fdc-1200-900/fed-funds-rate.png\" width=\"1200\" height=\"900\"/></p>\n<p>Indeed, the loose monetary policy waged after the 2008 financial crisis whereby the FED “printed banknotes” to stem a climate of fear has been fostering the credit cycle. As the interest rates were and still remain very low, consumers and investors have found it easy to run into debt. The main goal was to stop the credit crunch (situation where banks are not willing to lend money as they are not confident in the future). But simply put, the so-called loose monetary policy carried out by the FED may bring about another financial crisis due to an over-indebtedness. For instance, let’s have a look at the student loan debt. It went from roughly $500 billion to $1300 billion. Former PayPal CEO Peter Thiel even talked about “higher education bubble”. People succeed in paying back their loan only after 25 if not 30 years. With a rising interest rate and the current economic climate, the households could no longer pay back their loans. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>\n<iframe width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https://www.youtube.com/embed/H5NUv0nOQCU\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen></iframe>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Remember in 2005 when Alan Greenspan implemented a tighter monetary policy. The over-indebtedness led to the rise of the non-payment rate (from 5% to 15% in 2007), which eventually brought about the financial crisis. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Thus, it could be highly profitable for Bitcoin and crypto-currencies by extension. Should a market crash occur, the climate of fear entailed by the crash would push many investors to focus on non-traditional assets such as Bitcoin or Ethereum, all the more so as crypto-currencies have gained momentum for the last few months in term of media coverage. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>But, why would investors invest in Bitcoin? Because it is absolutely non-correlated to other financial traditional assets. As you can see in the plot, the correlation is roughly between -0.1 and 0.1 which shows just how low-correlated Bitcoin and stocks are. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>\n<p><img src=\"http://www.signalplot.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/1.018-Bitcoin-Correlation-With-Other-Financial-Assets-1024x640.png\" width=\"1024\" height=\"640\"/></p>\n<p>Seeing the stocks plummet would encourage many investors to study and analyze non-traditional assets. This would generate a massive move from traditional markets to Bitcoin, increasing the market cap by possibly doubling it within a few months. Yet the key-issue in current slow-down of Bitcoin is its market cap. As it lowers, the volume decreases, hence the demand and finally the price. Hosting this massive influx of demand and money coming from traditional markets could lead the price to new heights. And this is emphasized by the implementation by the end of July of SegWit technology in Bitcoin’s blockchain protocol. It can’t be denied that lower transaction fees, faster transaction time and increasing transaction volume per block are very attractive cases that could seduce investors. As always, implementing a new technology entails a speculative climate which would be very beneficial to Bitcoin.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Thus, if considered a store of value, Bitcoin could surge as high as $4000, as it has been already predicted by some analysis, such as <a href=\"http://www.businessinsider.fr/us/bitcoin-price-goldman-sachs-2017-7/\">Goldman Sachs’</a>.
