After graduation, job seekers have to prepare a CV and update it constantly. However, there is a lack of trust and corporate outfits spend time and money to independently verify the certificates and qualifications submitted to them. Furthermore, job seekers have to spend some time before they can find job openings that match their interests and a lot of them end up developing new skills to suit the jobs available. Conversely, businesses struggle to find the right candidates and in most cases, institutions of higher learning cannot tell for sure which of their courses provide students with the skills businesses out there demand for.\n\n[Open Source University](https://os.university/) wants to bridge this gap by providing a blockchain-based platform for academic and career development. On this platform, all 3 tiers — academia, learners, and businesses — can connect and share relevant information amongst themselves. Academia refers to learning institutions e.g. high school, universities, corporate training providers etc. and on the OS.University platform, they will be able to market their services to people from all over the world. OS.University will also give them an opportunity to modernize educational operations.\n\nLearners are students, employees seeking new knowledge and other people with a passion for learning. Using OS.University, these people will have access to various learning and development opportunities, and social, economic, or geographical barriers will not have a restricting effect on the opportunities available to them. Additionally, all Learners may upload and verify their certificates, thereby removing the inherent lack of trust and the constant need to update CVs. Learners are expected to retain control of their data and may choose to attach a price for contacting them, warding off time-wasters as a result. On the OS.University platform, Learners may also promote their blockchain-verified portfolio. User information on the platform is to be protected by current active regulations and GDPR restrictions.\n\nBusinesses i.e. companies with varying size and influence from startups to enterprises, NGOs, and global corporations may benefit from the pool of talent OS.University aims to provide. Using specific search parameters, they should be able to identify and contact skilled candidates close to their location. This is a more effective system than what is currently in use, and it will help them save time, money and effort.\n\nAccounts on OS.University may be used to represent all 3 stakeholders in the ecosystem e.g. Learner accounts may create and switch to an Academia profile in order to market a course they produced.\n\nOpen Source University’s token, EDU, will be ERC20-compliant and in addition to acting as a utility token on the platform, it should also provide users with access to the OSU DApp. Transactions between Academia, Learners, and Businesses will attract 5% fees and the commission will reportedly go towards sustaining the project. It is important to note, however, that fees will not be charged for transactions done using EDU tokens.\n\n### Existing Product\n\nThe project plans to release an alpha version of their platform by Q2 2018.\n\n### Roadmap\n\nMilestones, H1 2018:\n\n*   Detailed design of all smart contracts, circulating in the blockchain.\n*   Develop the final functionality of L2B smart contract and deploy it using upgrade-ability function designed at a first place.\n*   Upgrade the supporting contract taking care of the messaging encrypted communication between learners and businesses.\n\nMilestones, H2 2018:\n\n*   Verify communication between smart contracts and platform.\n*   Advanced development of the OS.University platform, fixing issues during earlier development.\n*   Fully integrate their API within EdX platform and upload of all the key values in the blockchain.\n*   Set up a partnership network of innovators working in the field of blockchain and its application in education & career development.\n*   After finishing the development of the OS.University platform, finalize the integration with EdX e-learning platform.\n\nMilestones, H1 2019:\n\n*   Implementation of algorithms for forecasting of the burning process of EDU tokens.\n*   Finalize peer-to-peer features for easy and maximum secure connection between all participants using OS.University platform.\n*   Onboard courses from Coursera and fix primary technical constraints.\n*   Testing and verification of the end-to-end cryptocurrency flow through OS.University platform.\n\nMilestones, H2 2019:\n\n*   Additional upgradability functions for final adjustments to enable their platform to be a standard for communication and building trust between learners, businesses and academies.\n*   Link and store all diploma certificates based on the courses which are already in the blockchain.\n*   Initiate the process of adoption of their platform by Udemy and clarify all technical constraints related to the specifics of Udemy platform.\n*   Preparations for world’s leading enterprises to start joining the platform.\n\n### Hard Cap and Valuation\n\nThere will be a total of 48 million EDU tokens and the project aims to raise 34,000 ETH for 72.5% of the total. However, the industry is burdened with lots of administrative problems, for example: documents are inaccurate and go missing a lot of the time; carrier ships are often overloaded with cargo; most onboard systems in use are outdated; lots of claims are filed, requiring lots of paperwork and multiple signatures; a lot of little mistakes happen, leading to shipment delay, increased cost, and sometimes, wrong deliveries. In summary, the industry is very inefficient and it badly needs transparency, accountability, and a better organized logistics chain.\n\nThe [BitNautic](https://bitnautic.io/) project aims to provide a solution to the problems outlined above. The solution is described as “an open decentralized platform that will enable all stakeholders, such as importers, exporters, shippers, ship owners, carriers and agents to come to the same page.” The features to be available on this platform include an AI-based cargo booking system, real-time tracking of ships, a wholesale e-commerce platform and so on. The cargo booking system will reportedly allow shippers from all over the world check for ships that are available to carry their cargo. BitNautic also plans to provide a ship brokerage system that may allow ship owners list the live locations of their ships in order to find customers from all over the world. The wholesale e-commerce platform, on the other hand, will give users a marketplace to advertise and trade wholesale goods along shipping locations without the need for an intermediary. BitNautic is also expected to give customers a tool with which they can track the position of ships and cargo in real time, providing them with all the supply chain information that they need.\n\nBitNautic’s native token, BTNT, is to be Ethereum-based and reports suggest that it will be a hybrid token, i.e. it will serve as a utility as well as a payment token. It will be used as a medium of exchange in the BitNautic ecosystem and it may also be used to store value. Despite these, the global freelance market has been growing steadily over the past years, and it is expected to keep growing in the future. Peer-to-peer booking platforms like Airbnb and Uber are at the forefront of this growth, and millions of people all over the world depend on these platforms and others like it. In addition to the problems mentioned above, however, service providers add to the problems freelancers face by (1) charging exorbitant commission fees (2) charging high marketing and advertising costs and (3) not providing adequate job security that, at least, gives the freelancer a semblance of successful self-employment.\n\nTo tackle these problems, [Blue Whale](https://www.bluewhale.foundation) team proposes a decentralized platform that gives freelancers and small business owners the opportunity to grow their businesses at low cost using peer-driven referrals. The project also plans to create a smart contract interface that allows network users earn rewards for resolving disputes and validating service delivery. In addition to these, Blue Whale also aims to provide freelancers on their platform with benefits, such as paid sick leave, that are normally available only to salaried employees. Furthermore, Blue Whale plans to create a Contribution Activity Manager and a Reward Bank. A combination of the 2 components will enable freelancers to receive money from the company’s reserves.\n\nFrom the start, Blue Whale team plans to send 20% of its total tokens to the Reward Bank. 60% of the platform’s net profit and 5% of each freelancer’s referral rewards are also expected to be sent to the Reward Bank. As a result, when a freelancer gets indisposed, they still get paid an amount proportional to their network contribution. The Blue Whale project wants to implement a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) governance structure. This structure is expected to adapt to the needs of different participants, allowing them to vote on how they want the platform to be. As a result, policies, rates, and other such parameters can be customized to suit the community.\n\nThe platform’s token, BWX, will be used to pay service providers, as well as reward participants for network activities. BWX tokens also give its holders a say in the decision-making process, and the more tokens a participant holds, the more their voting power.\n\n### Existing Product\n\nNo MVP yet. The remaining 50% is to be distributed thus: 20% is sent to the company’s reserves, 18% is to be sent to the community reserves for bounty campaigns, and the final 12% is shared among the team members and their advisors.\n\nThe project already raised 25 million SGD (~19 million USD) during their presale.\n\nTeam tokens are to be vested for 3 years, and team members should receive ⅙ of their allocation 6 months after the crowdsale. Every month after that, they will receive 1/36 of their allocation until the 3 years elapse.\n\nUnsold tokens are to be burnt.\n\n### Price Per Token\n\nFor the crowdsale, 1 BWX = 0.00125 SGD ($0.0010 USD) _(pre-bonus)._\n\nThere is a 10% bonus available to investors who purchase tokens before 10M SGD is raised, and the accepted currencies are ETH or ICX (ERC20).
