body![](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmcUNocYEwz2zU9zAbkYSUNs8N7Yx1FgJsxfEz7c1dJ9f4/image.png) _Dear community,_ _Since the beginning of the REBL project, we have envisioned REBL to be the coin of the people. We want our community to be involved and on track with all that is going on in the office. To keep you up to date with all the latest news here at Rebellious, we provide a monthly update in which we discuss all events and developments since our last update._ ### 2018 The cryptocurrency market has experienced a year of extremes after it hit the 800+ billion all-time high market capitalization early in January. In hindsight we all agree this was fueled by irrational exuberance and this lead to a market correction bringing us to a 2018 low in December somewhere around the 100 Billion market cap mark. A correction which has happened multiple times during the 10 years existence of Bitcoin. All year round the headlines were filled with negativity, whether it be the distrust in USD Tether, outflows of ETH to cash from the 2017 ICOs or FUD in regard to regulation or yet another ETF proposal that got declined. Despite this being depicted by the media as a horrible year for crypto with price drops of most alt coins down to 95% from their all-time highs, and Bitcoin being declared dead hundreds of times. During all this we’ve seen projects achieve fantastic milestones, i.e. Mainnet releases, protocol updates or the Lightning Network launch just to name a few. The industry is pushing forward despite all the noise. Maybe 2018 has been a fantastic year for the industry after all, but only time will tell. ### The Testnet The last month we’ve been going back and forth with our community team to test the network. This resulted in great feedback and a lot has been done since. The help of our community has been overwhelming! Within a week from now, we will invite the entire community to help us test the network. **Since limited spots are available, we’ll select the first 50 that will apply. Keep an eye on our social channels for the invitation!** ### 2019 We are content with the development of REBL in 2018 since we have come closer towards reaching our goals. Despite the need to postpone the Mainnet release of which we understand it raised eyebrows in the community, but we won’t be rushed into anything because of a market that’s in a rush. We keep our cool and keep going at it in 2019. First we focus on our primary goal to launch the mainnet and with that provide the community a simple yet secure process to swap the current ERC20 tokens to the new REBL blockchain. Looking back at the turbulent year 2018 has turned out to be, we’d like to conclude it with this being the year of ‘building’. 2019 is already described as the year of truth for ‘crypto’, this includes REBL. The coming year will be an incredible journey for blockchain technology to gather enterprise and mainstream adoption. REBL will be part of this journey. We will be working hard to deliver on our promises in 2019 and we hope to be doing this with the support of our REBL community. We would like to thank our community and all the members of the REBL team for their continuing support and effort! Let’s make 2019 a year to never forget!

body![](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmRekjKkdvFtWXLeVrLARKdfEaNkbaHpmuYqCNX8smFaaJ/image.png) Dear community, **Since the beginning of the REBL project, we have envisioned REBL to be the coin of the people. We want our community to be involved and on track with all that is going on in the office. To keep you up to date with all the latest news here at Rebellious, we provide a monthly update in which we discuss all events and developments since our last update.** ### One year anniversary The 21st of November marked a special date for us. On this day one year ago, we launched our project to the public. So this month we celebrated our one year anniversary! A big thank you to our community team that helped us fantastic throughout the entire year. A shout out to all REBLs that went on a rollercoaster of emotions with bull cycles and bear markets this year but kept with us. We feel the sentiment swings in the community of course, however we try not to be distracted. We just keep building and we’re proud of our first year as a blockchain company. ### Progress This month the community management team joined us in testing the blockchain. They have been very helpful testing the wallets, setting up Masternodes and with this they provided us with lots of feedback. A lot of feedback also means we’re back to fixing bugs and irregularities. We understand that a lot of questions arise from the community about the current status. So we’ve collected some of the most frequently asked questions from this last month and made a summarizing Q/A that answers these questions. #### Q: When will the blockchain be launched? A: We’re very close. We are content with the progress this month. The target is Q4 2018 and we’re confident we’ll succeed in this goal. #### Q: When will the tokenswap commence? A: The tokenswap will start immediately when the blockchain is launched. We’re working on the most user friendly tokenswap we can think of. We will have a ‘how to swap’ instruction manual ready by the time it is needed. #### Q: Will the REBL coin be listed on an exchange after the tokenswap? A: Yes it will. We wouldn’t have our community swap the tokens for coins that can’t be traded on an exchange. #### Q: Will the testnet become available for the community before we launch? A: Yes we will include the rest of the community in the final phase of testing. The testnet will be available for public in the next weeks. #### Q: Why can’t I access the Filipino/Spanish Telegram Channel anymore? A: We have decided to close down some of the communication channels so that we can focus the discussion more into a smaller selection of active channels. This means we have closed down some of the smaller community channels, as we have done earlier by closing down the discord channel and the forum. That’s all for this month’s update!

body![](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmdiEE2gWX5GgSHEeWqCq53rFUT6FcJMZVsk6UnhTRx5gG/image.png) *Rebellious operates under a unique concept. By utilising client chains that feed into the master Rebellious chain, it is possible to integrate blockchain technology into virtually any business. Backed by a comprehensive set of tools and systems, adopting blockchain tech has never been easier. One such tool is an auditing system designed to protect client information while still verifying the validity of a blockchain. Read on to discover how.* ### HOW THE REBELLIOUS NETWORK OPERATES Public blockchains have a versatile spectrum of uses. However, the technical expertise required for blockchain integration has proven to be a significant hurdle to mainstream adoption. Rebellious has developed a complete solution that brings all the benefits of blockchain, without the drawbacks. The Rebellious decentralised public network operates in much the same way as many other proof-of-stake blockchain networks. The principal difference is that feeding into the Rebellious master chain are an unlimited number of client chains. These client chains benefit from the systems and tools provided by both regular and master nodes¹ on the Rebellious network. In return, the partnership between the two will ensure an increasing demand for the REBL coin. Client chains can use REBL coins to request nodes to check the integrity of their blockchain to ensure it has not been tampered with. This feature becomes vital if a client decides to operate a centralised or hybrid blockchain with permissioned restrictions. ### BLOCKCHAINS CAN BE CUSTOMISED The beauty of the Rebellious blockchain is it can be customised to the needs of any business. Not all networks need to be public, nor do they need to give every node (user) the ability to send and receive information or assets. Several use cases, especially for companies in the financial sector, will require networks that have permission rights. Control over who can send and receive assets, as well as who has visibility of transaction history, permissioned blockchains still maintain an immutable ledger; the risk, however, is that manipulation can occur. The parameters for doing so would be incredibly difficult, and it would depend on the type of restrictions put in place. Clients needn’t worry though; Rebellious has auditing systems that monitor and verify the integrity of the blockchain to ensure that third parties have not begun to tamper with the network. Not only does auditing take place at a client’s request, but it does so without the client chain compromising the data stored within. ### THE REBELLIOUS SOLUTION By storing parts of the custom client blockchain on the Rebellious master chain, nodes can provide auditing functionality. Naturally, the concern businesses have is that Rebellious network users may be able to access sensitive information stored on their respective client chain. Determined to provide an unrivalled solution to mainstream adoption, Rebellious has the security of client details covered by the zero-knowledge proof concept. Small amounts of data are still stored on the Rebellious master blockchain, but verification can take place without any aspects of the client chain being shared. Network integrity is proven without nodes needing to know what information goes into that proof. ### ZERO-KNOWLEDGE PROOF It may seem like an impossibility to prove something without knowing the details of what you are proving. However, thanks to research undertaken by cryptographers, zero-knowledge proofs are being introduced to blockchains. Organically, they operate as an extension of the secure protocols that underpin blockchain technology. A zero-knowledge proof must satisfy three properties to be verified: completeness, soundness, and zero-knowledge. Using complex mathematical calculations, the need to share sensitive data to prove network integrity is removed. ### SUPPORTING THE REBELLIOUS ECOSYSTEM All the Rebellious nodes ask for in return is an auditing fee, payable in REBL tokens. We alluded to this earlier, but the purchase of REBL coins by client chains supports the Rebellious ecosystem. Coins can be purchased from the open market, creating an ever-increasing demand for REBL coins. As more client chains connect to the Rebellious network, the need for auditing services increases. More nodes will join the network because of the reward incentive, and thus the ecosystem expands. Rebellious offers a complete end-to-end solution for blockchain integration. With customisable settings, a suite of tools, and zero-knowledge proof, adopting blockchains has never been more appealing. Without the risk of compromising data stored on your client chain, and with the ability to have the blockchain integrity checked and verified, Rebellious is revolutionising the way blockchain technology is applied. #### References 1. body![](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmXzoApQfmVAvejNzArvWdyjR4AUotmDRSWaod6GYhDkrN/image.png) ##### Since the beginning of the REBL project, we have envisioned REBL to be the coin of the people. We want our community to be involved and on track with all that is going on in the office. To keep you up to date with all the latest news here at Rebellious, we provide a monthly update each month, in which we discuss all events and developments since our last update. Our apologies for the delay in the current update, which makes this update a one-time bimonthly update. ### Eterbase REBL has been chosen as the Eterbase community coin of the month for September! We feel we have made a great step forward in our pursuit to find a stable and trustworthy trading platform for the REBL community. We hope REBL and Eterbase will prove to be a perfect match. The go-live of Eterbase and the listing of REBL is planned for Q4 2018. For now you can check out [the DEMO on the Eterbase website.](demo.eterbase.com) ### The public Testnet Prior to the Mainnet release, we are going to launch a public Testnet. We’d like to include the community in basic functionality testing of the blockchain and the UX of the wallets. The team is currently working on some last fixes that mainly have to do with node connectivity and network stability. The inclusion of the community allows us to collect more data to work out any remaining irregularities and bugs. In the future we will be continually using the testnet for new implementations or potential changes to the current protocol that need extensive testing first. More info on how to join the testnet will be available soon. ### White paper 3.0 White paper 3.0 is released! The third iteration of the white paper describes better the optimal business solution REBL wants to offer her clients. With emerging technologies always come evolving business models. REBL’s business model has been undergoing quite the transformation this year. The new white paper is out to explain more about the technical aspects of the REBL blockchain , as well as a more up-to-date description of the business solution. [Grab your copy of the white paper here!](https://www.rebellious.io/whitepaper/) We also realize this vision needs better representation on the website. The coming weeks we will be updating various sections of the website to be completely up to date. ### Sharing the REBL vision We are getting closer and closer to the release of the blockchain this motivates us to more actively share content and information on REBL, but also on blockchain technology in general. In the following months, we’ll be working towards educating the market about the possibilities of the blockchain. The most important aspect of this is to convince the end clients that REBL is a viable business solution which theoretically can be applied over a broad field of operations with regards to a company’s tech infrastructure having a transactional nature. We’ll be releasing blogs to cover the blockchain industry and all its facets. Join us on this journey and make sure to follow us on [all our social channels.](https://www.rebellious.io/community/) And for all REBLs out there; **Spread the word!** That is all for this month’s update!

body![](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmW1zxfadxCRSN5y6W6KNkg62yDUaKFHHHpFrSgpFwXFUx/image.png) _''Many hands make light work'' is a cliché and often overused expression. However, in the crypto sphere, the phrase takes on renewed meaning. The very nature of blockchain technology is one that relies on engaged users all connecting to the blockchain network. With many blockchains utilising masternodes to support voting and governance, the voice of active users is present at virtually every stage._ ### WHY COMMUNITY MATTERS IN CRYPTOCURRENCY Unlike fiat currencies, which have centuries of tried and tested routines, cryptocurrency is a new and emerging market. While recent years have seen the technology gain significant distinction, how we use blockchains and how widely adopted they can become is still being explored and developed. Although time is needed for blockchains to spread across multiple industries, the wait is worth it. Blockchain technology has the power to transform global sectors—at a fraction of the resource cost traditional systems use. The uncharted territory that blockchains have to navigate makes it difficult for new users or even experienced hands to digest and pass on accurate information. A telling statistic¹ is that in 2017, it is claimed that 46% of initial coin offers (ICOs) failed. It is likely that many of those failed attempts could be attributed to a lack of community engagement. Without a thriving network of users, blockchains have incredibly limited functionality. ### REBELLIOUS PRIDES ITSELF ON COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT Communities matter, never more so than in the initial stages of a cryptocurrency’s development. Even established offerings like Bitcoin still rely on hundreds of investors and influencers to promote their message and share the advantages of blockchain technology. Rebellious operates no differently. You could argue that we take community more seriously than most. An expert team of over 30 community managers are all focussed on one primary objective: effective communication that spreads factual and engaging information about the Rebellious network.² Blockchains, by virtue of their algorithms, encourage everyone to take part, and so too should their relevant social media platforms. In conjunction with Twitter, Reddit, Medium, and Telegram, community members new and old can ask technical questions, access resources about the REBL network, or understand more about the values that drive the REBL token. Engagement not only secures a network of active users; it puts the power of development in their hands. Don’t take our word for it, take the word of 24k Twitter followers, 1.6K subscribers on Reddit, and over 9000 Telegram users across 11 languages. ### TWITTER, TELEGRAM AND FACEBOOK ARE NOT WITHOUT THEIR ISSUES The internet’s greatest gift, access to untapped information, can also be its greatest curse. Misinformation, especially in the crypto market where expert knowledge is not yet commonplace, can damage both the cryptocurrency and its community. That is why we take the role of community management so seriously. Access to our white paper and accurate details of token distribution are critical. An increasingly common occurrence on social media platforms like Twitter³ is for bots to lure unsuspecting users with fake links to fraudulent token sales. We ensure only verified accounts that comply with the regulations cryptocurrencies must adhere to in order to post relevant details about our blockchain’s development. Links to all the official platforms for communication can be found at the bottom of the article.⁴ ### A THRIVING COMMUNITY NEEDS SUPPORT Regulating and reviewing how a community feels about blockchain projects is a vital part of building a successful network. With many cryptocurrencies falling at the first hurdle, active communities can nurture the early stages of development. Add in the risk of bots or illegitimate followers, and the power of dynamic, passionate community managers comes into clear view. #### References 1. However, in the crypto sphere, the phrase takes on renewed meaning. The very nature of blockchain technology is one that relies on engaged users all connecting to the blockchain network. With many blockchains utilising masternodes to support voting and governance, the voice of active users is present at virtually every stage._\n\n### WHY COMMUNITY MATTERS IN CRYPTOCURRENCY\n\nUnlike fiat currencies, which have centuries of tried and tested routines, cryptocurrency is a new and emerging market. While recent years have seen the technology gain significant distinction, how we use blockchains and how widely adopted they can become is still being explored and developed. Although time is needed for blockchains to spread across multiple industries, the wait is worth it. Blockchain technology has the power to transform global sectors—at a fraction of the resource cost traditional systems use.\n\nThe uncharted territory that blockchains have to navigate makes it difficult for new users or even experienced hands to digest and pass on accurate information. A telling statistic¹ is that in 2017, it is claimed that 46% of initial coin offers (ICOs) failed. It is likely that many of those failed attempts could be attributed to a lack of community engagement. Without a thriving network of users, blockchains have incredibly limited functionality.\n\n### REBELLIOUS PRIDES ITSELF ON COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT\n\nCommunities matter, never more so than in the initial stages of a cryptocurrency’s development. Even established offerings like Bitcoin still rely on hundreds of investors and influencers to promote their message and share the advantages of blockchain technology. Rebellious operates no differently. You could argue that we take community more seriously than most.\n\nAn expert team of over 30 community managers are all focussed on one primary objective: effective communication that spreads factual and engaging information about the Rebellious network.² Blockchains, by virtue of their algorithms, encourage everyone to take part, and so too should their relevant social media platforms. In conjunction with Twitter, Reddit, Medium, and Telegram, community members new and old can ask technical questions, access resources about the REBL network, or understand more about the values that drive the REBL token.\n\nEngagement not only secures a network of active users; it puts the power of development in their hands. Don’t take our word for it, take the word of 24k Twitter followers, 1.6K subscribers on Reddit, and over 9000 Telegram users across 11 languages.\n\n### TWITTER, TELEGRAM AND FACEBOOK ARE NOT WITHOUT THEIR ISSUES\n\nThe internet’s greatest gift, access to untapped information, can also be its greatest curse. Misinformation, especially in the crypto market where expert knowledge is not yet commonplace, can damage both the cryptocurrency and its community. That is why we take the role of community management so seriously. Access to our white paper and accurate details of token distribution are critical. An increasingly common occurrence on social media platforms like Twitter³ is for bots to lure unsuspecting users with fake links to fraudulent token sales.\n\nWe ensure only verified accounts that comply with the regulations cryptocurrencies must adhere to in order to post relevant details about our blockchain’s development. Links to all the official platforms for communication can be found at the bottom of the article.⁴\n\n### A THRIVING COMMUNITY NEEDS SUPPORT\n\nRegulating and reviewing how a community feels about blockchain projects is a vital part of building a successful network. With many cryptocurrencies falling at the first hurdle, active communities can nurture the early stages of development. Add in the risk of bots or illegitimate followers, and the power of dynamic, passionate community managers comes into clear view.\n\n#### References\n\n1. REBL was up against nine other cryptos, so the competition was quite fierce! How does it feel to have come out on top and be listed on ETERBASE? _Thank you, we are of course delighted that REBL has won the campaign! We are proud to come out as the victor with such fierce competition. We feel we have made a great step forward in our pursuit to find a stable and trustworthy trading platform for the REBL community. We hope REBL and Eterbase will prove to be a perfect match._ #### Can you give us a brief overview of what Rebellious brings to the table? _The REBL team has experienced on firsthand the problem that it is trying to solve and the expertise to build the solution. With many years of experience in the e-commerce markets, we have noticed that blockchain technology is yet to become a technology for the layman business owner. REBL will offer a means of tailoring the blockchain technology to suit businesses, rather than companies having to adapt their structure to suit blockchain._ #### The REBL blockchain is something that stands out. What do you think makes it different? _The REBL blockchain is the core of the ecosystem. As the base layer, it can provide stability and security for the Clientchains. It will provide Audit functions for the more private networks that require Zero-Knowledge proof evidence. For the other blockchains, the Masternode system can provide for a stable and decentralized network._ #### The Rebellious BaaS looks exciting. Can you go into a bit more detail on that for our readers? _One of the most significant drawbacks of blockchain technology uptake is the ability to integrate it into current systems easily. Even in business sectors that would benefit substantially from the encrypted and secure algorithms at the heart of blockchains, the technology needs to be financially viable for them to adopt it. We recognized this to be a major hurdle for blockchain adoption. Therefore the BaaS is designed to be a full end-to-end service. We want to offer our clients a completely customized solution with a personal touch. Helping them from A-Z with the technology and business implementation._ #### What do you have planned for the future? 2018 is coming to a close, but 2019 could be a big year? _2018 was the year for REBL to build a foundation. We have been working very hard behind the scenes to create a solid base. 2019 will be the year for REBL to put all the theory into practice. We’ll be working toward educating the market about the possibilities of the blockchain and building the right pilot projects to start expanding our ecosystem._ #### And finally, do you have anything else you’d like to add? _We are very excited about the emerging market the blockchain industry has become the last few years. We are even more excited to find out how the market continues to evolve in the next couple of years. The coming years will be all about the ‘real world’ impact of the blockchain. We can’t wait to start adding value to this market in this exhilarating time._

body![](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmWLN9n2pKfyXmtd2feUEmmawBDF6nDd3RVHvQ4YNym9GM/image.png) Within the cryptosphere, there are now hundreds of different variations in blockchain algorithms, methods of consensus, and requirements for joining a network. One specific network infrastructure is favored across a broad spectrum of cryptocurrencies—masternodes. ## MASTERNODES, WHAT DO THEY DO? Operating above the network of regular nodes, masternodes provide revolutionary features for connected users. Many cryptocurrencies now operate a two-tiered structure. Regular network users run the first tier via a node which allows access to a copy of the decentralized ledger and the ability to send and receive transactions. On a proof of stake consensus, regular nodes can also receive a reward if they are selected to verify a block. The second tier is where the masternodes operate. Not only do they have access to the same functionality as regular nodes but they can be utilised to enable instant-payments, increase the privacy of transactions, participate in governance and voting, or provide valuable auditing features. The most significant benefit of running a masternode is the crypto token reward via chargeable fees or block rewards in exchange for delivering any one of the listed services to the network in question. ## RUNNING A MASTERNODE HAS SIGNIFICANT ADVANTAGES First, let’s take a look at the advantages masternodes bring to the person running the node before discovering the benefits to the network. For the individual running the masternode, besides the ability to shape the network they are connected to through the governance and voting features, masternode owners receive a crypto token reward for providing services. This return on investment (ROI) does vary from blockchain to blockchain but is usually between 40-60% of every verified block reward. Just like regular nodes, the chance to be selected for a reward is random, however, with the number of masternodes on a single blockchain significantly less, the probability of receiving a reward more frequently is higher. This applies to both proof of work (PoW) and proof of stake (PoS) blockchains. With many blockchains, the number of masternodes, and the rate of release for new tokens is publicized; it is therefore theoretically possible to calculate the exact ROI over the duration of a blockchains maturity. ## MASTERNODES HELP MAINTAIN THE NETWORK Masternodes are a valuable means of protecting a blockchain from malicious attacks or fraudulent transactions. Setting up a masternode requires a sizeable investment, and subsequent rewards are only awarded for the verification of legitimate transactions. Therefore it would cost an astronomical amount for any one user to control multiple masternodes and authorize fraudulent transactions on the network. They would risk both their initial collateral and the promised block rewards. The risk does not outweigh the reward of correctly operating a masternode, thus encouraging an honest and healthy network environment. ## THE INITIAL INVESTMENT KEEPS BLOCKCHAINS SECURE We have mentioned it a few times, but what exactly does a masternode investment look like? It does vary dependant on the blockchain, however, typically the same rules apply. • Firstly, a sizeable investment of collateral is needed. The token value will play the determining role in the “X” amount required but expect to pay a lot to run a masternode. Remember, the cost has to be high to protect the network. • Secondly, you will need access to your own server or VPS so that your digital wallet can be maintained 24/7. A blockchain is no good if instant transactions can only be verified when a masternode server chooses to be live. There is also a requirement to have a dedicated IP address; this is usually configured at the same time as setting up your server. • Finally, you will need dedicated storage to hold a complete copy of the decentralized ledger. In all honesty, there are minimal downsides to running a masternode. If anything the only disadvantage is that keen cryptocurrency enthusiasts will need serious financial backing to be able to run one effectively. A word of caution; if at any point you fail to meet the requirements of the blockchain you are connected to, then masternode privileges will be removed. You won’t lose your investment as this is returned to you, but you will, however, lose any future block rewards. ## HOW MASTERNODES ARE TRANSFORMING BLOCKCHAINS With the basic premise of masternodes covered, how are several blockchains making use of their functionality? 1. DASH The Dash blockchain was the pioneer of masternodes. PrivateSend, InstantSend and governance tools are all available on the Dash blockchain. 2. VECHAIN VeChain is unique because it offers two different levels of masternode. Economy and VeChain Authority. The principles remain the same; however, the investment needed to run either is different. VeChain authority requires more collateral but enables deployment of business applications, testing of dapps, and cross chain services. The cheaper economy masternode acts as a point of distribution for power and privilege on the network itself, rather than providing advanced services. 3. PIVX PIVX was originally a hard fork of Dash. The PIVX network specialises in the ability to send completely anonymous transactions while still being recorded on the blockchain. Other masternode features include instant transactions and prevention of double spending. ## HOW WILL REBL USE MASTERNODES? The initial investment is substantial but so too are the rewards. With the bonus of increased security and encouraging an active ecosystem of users, masternodes are becoming a critical aspect of blockchain development. At Rebellious¹, we take a similar approach to the cryptocurrencies previously listed, but with some additional, unique benefits. ## OFFERING UNIQUE BENEFITS REBL operates with a central blockchain that is designed to have a scalable amount of client chains feeding into it. On the REBL blockchain, masternodes provide access to instant send transactions and give security to the overall blockchain infrastructure. Anyone running a masternode server will automatically be allocated a masternode on every client chain, with the client providing the collateral for these nodes. In exchange for doing so, clients will use REBL tokens to purchase audit features and block verification services from the masternode. Finally, masternodes will receive 60% of a block reward making the ROI significantly higher than several other blockchains. With REBL masternode the opportunity to earn rewards is threefold; REBL masternode rewards, client auditing rewards, and client masternode rewards. With every client chain that is developed, the subsequent rewards can increase significantly. Further details of predicted ROI’s can be found on the Rebellious website. WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS TO RUN A MASTERNODE? To run a masternode on the REBL blockchain, the following is required: • Masternode Collateral: 100,000 REBL • Private server or VPS for 24/7 wallet access • Dedicated IP address • Access to storage space to maintain a local copy of all blockchain data ### References 1. In these use cases, Rebellious takes the concept of blockchain technology and creates a network that can be tailored to the needs of a company, be it centralised, decentralised, permissionless or permissioned.* ## BLOCKCHAIN TECHNOLOGY DOESNT HAVE TO BE ENTIRELY PUBLIC Bitcoin is responsible for popularising blockchain technology by utilising a public, permissionless blockchain network. Any connected user can view, or update transactions on the ledger for verification. There are no predetermined requirements to join the network, and their identity is protected via the use of public and private keys. While it is possible to trace the recurring use of public keys and thus establish a connected list of transactions, there is no way to identify who permitted said transactions. This is one of the most significant advantages of a public, proof of work blockchain; however, for industries like the financial sector, complete anonymity is counterproductive. The same challenges can be found replicated across numerous use cases and a variety of business sectors. There is, however, several ways the efficient and highly secure characteristics of a digital ledger can be utilised in these scenarios. By defining the level of control specific groups of users have access to, it is possible to incorporate blockchain networks on a significantly greater scale. Widespread adoption of the technology is not only increasingly likely but highly desirable. ## RUNNING A PERMISSIONLESS BLOCKCHAIN Examples of permissionless blockchains include many current iterations like Bitcoin or Ethereum. In these examples, the decentralised ledger can be accessed by any user, giving them the ability to submit transactions to the network without needing specific permission. Their transactions still need to be legitimate and adhere to algorithmic requirements to become verified before being recorded on the blockchain. Every user maintains their own copy of the decentralised ledger enabling them to read blockchain data. Typically, permissionless public blockchains utilise a proof of work consensus; however proof of stake is becoming increasingly popular with newer blockchain networks. Users must make a deposit that is secured against the network to ensure one true ledger is maintained. The ecosystem of public, permissionless blockchains, relies on a crypto token value to be sustained as a means of encouraging miners to take part in block activities thus maintaining the stability of the network. A downside is networks of this nature can be influenced by external factors, causing potentially huge fluctuations in token value. This can put off investors and business from taking part in the blockchain because of the variable reward for doing so. ## THE BENEFITS OF A PERMISSIONED BLOCKCHAIN Permissioned blockchains differ in one critical aspect. The users able to connect to the network are predefined, having to meet particular requirements, and their identity is known to the network. Permissioned blockchains can be both public or private; however, typically they are privately maintained. For businesses operating an internal, private blockchain significant advantages present themselves. The company or organisation running the blockchain has the ability to change the requirements of the blockchain easily. Although not a necessity, these changes can include; blockchain rules, balance totals, or transaction records. However, because the ledger is a record of all activity on the network, these changes would still be recorded, providing a digital trail of activity. For businesses operating in the financial sector, having an auditable trail that can be accessed by regulatory bodies with specific user rights, is the ideal solution. They gain the increased security of a blockchain network, at a substantially lower resource cost than current systems, while still adhering to legal requirements. ## THE ADVANTAGES CONTINUE Additional benefits include allocating validators, preventing the risk of attack. On a public blockchain, if over 51% of miners colluded, it would theoretically be possible to alter the blockchain and allow the authorisation of fraudulent transactions. Moreover, because nodes are known to the network, transaction validation comes at a lower cost and a significantly faster verification rate. In most cases, those nodes selected are fewer in number with greater computing power. Each transaction does not have to be verified by every node on the network where unknown variables can slow down or delay transactions. Finally, greater controls of permissions allow a private blockchain to remain private. They provide a greater scope of control. In the example of the financial services, customers would take the role of network users. However, in this scenario, you wouldn’t want them to be able to read other users transaction history. Private, permissioned blockchains allow you to control the visibility of all elements. ## REBELLIOUS WILL TAILOR BLOCKCHAIN NETWORKS TO YOUR NEEDS Either type of blockchain network has specific uses depending on the scenario. It is important that each example is viewed equally, as either is a viable option. One solution is not superior to another; it merely depends on the requirements of the user or business and how customisation of a blockchain can fulfil the purpose needed. That is where Rebellious excels. To capitalise on the success, security, and immutable ledger that blockchains provide, Rebellious can cater blockchain requirements to the needs of a business or organisation. By doing so, it is possible for companies to have a blockchain with a token that is unhindered by external factors. Permission rights, token value, blockchain participants, network requirements, every aspect can be tailored to required needs. The token itself can be moulded to fulfil whichever role is needed, be it a voucher, stamp, ticket, coupon or casino token. For each client, a detailed understanding of their requirements, and an extensive consultation process will ensure complete technical support to help not only set up the blockchain but provide back-end support regardless of the network requirement. Rebellious is bringing the technologically superior abilities of blockchain technology to mainstream markets.

body![](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmSVpaagmtnUQmQzYi19iSWBmkRZhQwCFkwtsGsMV1uoc4/image.png) Such a massive array of ICOs, terminology, and functionality makes transitioning to blockchain technology not only significantly harder than many anticipate, but also incredibly costly. BaaS or Blockchain-as-a-Service is the cost-effective solution to global blockchain adoption. ## THE HYPE OF BLOCKCHAIN TECHNOLOGY Online news outlets, mainstream channels, even your local paper; all of them are talking about blockchain and the hype surrounding this revolutionary digital technology. With good reason too; the integrity, security, and decentralised nature of blockchain ecosystems make them a technologically superior method of managing transactions in a scalable format. For multinational companies, small businesses, or individuals to adopt blockchain networks, a new type of service exists that is gaining outstanding traction: BaaS. Tackling the technical and financial outlay required to set up a blockchain, blockchain providers manage and customise blockchain systems for companies, rather than businesses doing it themselves. ## BLOCKCHAIN TECHNOLOGY CAN BE RISKY AND EXPENSIVE Blockchains are revered for their immutable nature, public and private key encryption, and block cryptography, however, all that security requires constant auditing of both transaction integrity and the activity of nodes connected to the network. The skill, expertise, and resources needed to manage these aspects can often be impossible to source internally. As such, blockchains that provide a service take care of all the “back-end” work associated with a blockchain’s initial setup and maintenance, in exchange for a fee. With the right blockchain solution, it is possible for every business, regardless of the industry, to formulate a logical and cost-effective business case for blockchain integration. Security risks, significant financial cost, and the substantial resource cost of running a blockchain are outsourced—in much the same way companies currently outsource recruitment, consultancy, and cloud-based services on a daily basis. ## THE FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLES OF BAAS The recent surge in popularity of blockchain and cryptocurrencies is both a blessing and a curse. Greater interest is being shown in the technology, but at a relative rate to the number of new and exciting features that fledgling ICOs claim to offer. To cut through the static of misinformation, we first need to understand how BaaS works. An external provider maintains the core principles of a blockchain network. This usually includes: bandwidth management, allocation of resources, security protocols, and any hosting requirements. The client agrees for the provider to manage these aspects of the blockchain in exchange for a service fee. The infrastructure is facilitated by the blockchain provider, leaving you, the client, to focus on blockchain functionality and encouraging a consortium of users. With the right aftercare, technical support, and blockchain functionality, it is possible for the technology to become an integral part of a business model, rather than a financial risk. While some blockchains offer the basic level of service listed above, Rebellious provides an unparalleled suite of tools and services to aid successful blockchain integration. ## WHAT SERVICES DOES REBELLIOUS OFFER? Built on a proof-of-stake consensus, running a regular node or master node requires an investment of collateral to encourage the authorisation of legitimate transactions. To further build upon this blockchain model, Rebellious maintains a master chain, which in turn has standalone client chains feeding into it. Imagine the following scenario: Regardless of total headcount, your business has a use case for an internal token that can be awarded to colleagues once a programmable set of parameters have been met. You need a secure system to track and maintain a record of token deposits, total balances, and want to ensure that none of the token balances can be manipulated. A Rebellious client chain provides access to a standalone blockchain network and decentralised ledger for the recording and verification of your company’s token scheme. To facilitate the BaaS model, Rebellious provides configurable value for tokens; your particular token can have a value based on the needs of your business, rather than a token value that is impacted by a public market. At a senior level, centralisation settings can be modified according to your community, while the entire BaaS package comes complete with audit tools and an end-to-end service from Rebellious that covers blockchain integration, maintenance, infrastructure, and security. Adopting blockchain technology just became a must-have asset for your business—without the technical or financial risk. ## REBELLIOUS GOES EVEN FURTHER The blockchain service that Rebellious provides is already superior to an enormous amount of competitors. However, to foster widespread use of blockchain technology, Rebellious goes even further. The master nodes we referred to earlier, they possess some incredibly powerful tools for auditing and security. If you are running a private environment, master nodes act as the custodian for legitimate transactions on your network. In exchange for a master node fee that the client pays in Rebellious tokens, a REBL master node holder will provide block integrity checks, in turn earning themselves a reward from both the master and client chains. Not only does this model further build upon the proof-of-stake consensus, but it encourages the healthy ecosystem of token distribution throughout the entire Rebellious network. You receive stability and peace of mind in the security of your private system, and master node holders are rewarded for providing sufficient services. ## HOW BAAS IS ENCOURAGING WIDESPREAD COMMERCIAL USE It is easy to understand now why BaaS is becoming an essential means of integrating blockchains into business models. Technology giants IBM and Microsoft have already developed in-house BaaS to provide internal and external functionality. The beauty is that blockchains are entirely scalable to the needs of the client. You could have 20 colleagues or 1000; for the client chain to be effective, those colleagues just need to be active on the network. If the idea of such a fully comprehensive service appeals, but you are not sure where to start with a business case for blockchain integration, Rebellious provides the ultimate solution. Our consultation process includes discussion and planning of how a client chain could be built into your company’s infrastructure, how that solution would integrate with your current operations, and which features would be most suitable. Rebellious isn’t just a blockchain service; it is an end-to-end solution to blockchain integration that has the wants and needs of your business at its very core. The success of your business is the success of ours!

body![](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmWktDqootqAjs77XtRBW7hqFkcXr5XJdfsqDvNRePqjeS/image.png) In recent years blockchain markets have experienced gradual and sustained growth. That was, however, until a distinct and sizeable shift in focus and usability. The result? Recently forecast global market value points to an unimaginable year on year growth for the industry. ### BLOCKCHAIN MARKETS ARE GOING TO INFINITY AND BEYOND Back in 2016, the worldwide blockchain technology market was worth $210.2 million, the following year, $339.5 million. A small rise but a rise nonetheless. In the world’s current economic climate many, markets and industries are crying out for a $129.3 million or 62% year on year increase. The year on year growth does not end there either. 2018 sees a similar increase at $548.2 million. However, it is the projected worldwide market value for 2021 that makes for incredibly exciting reading. The 2017 report carried out by Statista estimates that in 2021 the market will be worth approximately $2.312b. Compared to 2016, 2021’s figures are over 1000% higher in just five years. That isn’t only an exponential rise; it is in a league of its own. ### WHY HAS GROWTH BEEN SLOW UP TO THIS POINT? One of the most significant drawbacks of blockchain technology uptake is the ability to integrate it into current systems easily. Even in business sectors that would benefit substantially from the encrypted and secure algorithms at the heart of blockchains, the technology needs to be financially viable for them to adopt it. The volatility of the blockchain market is also a significant blocker for many new companies choosing to invest in blockchain-based technology. However, as more companies incorporate the technology, the cycle of increased stability in token value becomes self-fulfilling. More users mean more participation in a network which in turn drives the steady and sustained value of a cryptocurrency, fewer users mean more volatility. In the case of blockchain technology, success very much breeds success. ### WHAT DOES THE FUTURE OF BLOCKCHAIN TECHNOLOGY LOOK LIKE? Those disadvantages are slowly becoming drawbacks of the past as blockchain networks like Rebellious offer a means of tailoring the technology to suit businesses, rather than companies having to adapt their structure to suit blockchains. With blockchain investment growing and integration occurring in the financial sector, it should come as no surprise that the industry has been forecast to experience a hugely substantial rise in total market value. Mainstream adoption is at the very core of the business model behind Rebellious and our revolutionary blockchain network. As we have previously mentioned, companies would have to change or alter internal systems or process to be able to integrate a blockchain network into their ways of working. The cost, expertise and overall financial gains never married up and as such widespread use has faltered. Unless, of course, you could make the technology accessible. ### HOW DOES REBELLIOUS PLAY A PART? You would need to be capable of developing a proof of stake blockchain that acted as a decentralised network with a master chain. Feeding into that master chain would be a series of client chains, each one programmable to the needs of the company or business that has facilitated its use. Then, rather than having a token with a global value, that may mean nothing to your business, the role the token plays could also be customised. The purpose of a blockchain is to encourage users to participate, back to the point about user numbers strengthening how a blockchain operates. If you had the option to redefine what the token represents, be it a casino chip, voucher, stamp or coupon that would mean that that token, and the blockchain network could be tailored to the business, not the other way around. With Rebellious, the concept of operating in such a way is no longer an idea; it is a reality. That is precisely what we offer, control over your own fully customizable client blockchain and crypto utility token. ### REDEFINING THE USABILITY OF BLOCKCHAIN NETWORKS Full and unending support for blockchain technologies still requires more than customisation options. The technology remains new and emerging, and as such, many businesses will be unable to provide the necessary technical support, however, Rebellious has this aspect covered. Integrated end to end service ensures the network continues to stay updated, relevant and further builds synergy between the business and their blockchain community. Able to offer this level of functionality at a local level, overcomes the second biggest drawback to cryptocurrencies; their volatility and vulnerability to external factors. All it takes is a major news publication to publish an article criticising Bitcoin, and the token value drops as a result. The same effect can be seen replicated across the cryptocurrency industry. By having the value and relevancy of the token defined by the company using it, external factors are of little significance. That was, however, until a distinct and sizeable shift in focus and usability. The result? Recently forecast global market value points to an unimaginable year on year growth for the industry.\n\n### BLOCKCHAIN MARKETS ARE GOING TO INFINITY AND BEYOND\n\nBack in 2016, the worldwide blockchain technology market was worth $210.2 million, the following year, $339.5 million. A small rise but a rise nonetheless. In the world’s current economic climate many, markets and industries are crying out for a $129.3 million or 62% year on year increase.\n\nThe year on year growth does not end there either. That isn’t only an exponential rise; it is in a league of its own.\n\n### WHY HAS GROWTH BEEN SLOW UP TO THIS POINT?\n\nOne of the most significant drawbacks of blockchain technology uptake is the ability to integrate it into current systems easily. Even in business sectors that would benefit substantially from the encrypted and secure algorithms at the heart of blockchains, the technology needs to be financially viable for them to adopt it.\n\nThe volatility of the blockchain market is also a significant blocker for many new companies choosing to invest in blockchain-based technology. However, as more companies incorporate the technology, the cycle of increased stability in token value becomes self-fulfilling. More users mean more participation in a network which in turn drives the steady and sustained value of a cryptocurrency, fewer users mean more volatility. In the case of blockchain technology, success very much breeds success.\n\n### WHAT DOES THE FUTURE OF BLOCKCHAIN TECHNOLOGY LOOK LIKE?\n\nThose disadvantages are slowly becoming drawbacks of the past as blockchain networks like Rebellious offer a means of tailoring the technology to suit businesses, rather than companies having to adapt their structure to suit blockchains. With blockchain investment growing and integration occurring in the financial sector, it should come as no surprise that the industry has been forecast to experience a hugely substantial rise in total market value.\n\nMainstream adoption is at the very core of the business model behind Rebellious and our revolutionary blockchain network. As we have previously mentioned, companies would have to change or alter internal systems or process to be able to integrate a blockchain network into their ways of working. The cost, expertise and overall financial gains never married up and as such widespread use has faltered. Unless, of course, you could make the technology accessible.\n\n### HOW DOES REBELLIOUS PLAY A PART?\n\nYou would need to be capable of developing a proof of stake blockchain that acted as a decentralised network with a master chain. Feeding into that master chain would be a series of client chains, each one programmable to the needs of the company or business that has facilitated its use. Then, rather than having a token with a global value, that may mean nothing to your business, the role the token plays could also be customised.\n\nThe purpose of a blockchain is to encourage users to participate, back to the point about user numbers strengthening how a blockchain operates. If you had the option to redefine what the token represents, be it a casino chip, voucher, stamp or coupon that would mean that that token, and the blockchain network could be tailored to the business, not the other way around. With Rebellious, the concept of operating in such a way is no longer an idea; it is a reality. That is precisely what we offer, control over your own fully customizable client blockchain and crypto utility token.\n\n### REDEFINING THE USABILITY OF BLOCKCHAIN NETWORKS\n\nFull and unending support for blockchain technologies still requires more than customisation options. The technology remains new and emerging, and as such, many businesses will be unable to provide the necessary technical support, however, Rebellious has this aspect covered. Integrated end to end service ensures the network continues to stay updated, relevant and further builds synergy between the business and their blockchain community.\n\nAble to offer this level of functionality at a local level, overcomes the second biggest drawback to cryptocurrencies; their volatility and vulnerability to external factors. All it takes is a major news publication to publish an article criticising Bitcoin, and the token value drops as a result. The same effect can be seen replicated across the cryptocurrency industry. By having the value and relevancy of the token defined by the company using it, external factors are of little significance.\n\nWith diverse and highly useful features becoming an integral part of blockchain technology, it is easy to understand how this growing market has been forecast beyond many users wildest dreams. The only question that remains is will you take advantage and adopt blockchain networks like Rebellious for your own business?",

body![](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmYpcpf4t6gJUAJ77Fj6r9zfaEE5KH41edusEi2vEqd6fQ/image.png) **Dear community, Since the beginning of the REBL project, we have envisioned REBL to be the coin of the people. We want our community to be involved and on track with all that is going on in the office. To keep you up to date with all the latest news here at Rebellious, we provide a monthly update each month, in which we discuss all events and developments since our last update.** ### The updated roadmap REBL has been undergoing quite a process during 2018. Currently we’re busy with our test net, fixing bugs and testing for all sorts of parameters for functionality, stability, speed and security. This is still a very time consuming process, but we’re content on how we’re progressing. We have explained this in our earlier released statement that can be found here: https://steemit.com/blockchain/@rebelliouscoin/statement-from-the-dev-team The roadmap has been updated so that it better reflects the current state of development. #### Q1 2018 * Listing Bit-Z * Wallet 0.02 * Whitepaper 2.0 * Token Burn * Rebranding #### Q2 2018 * Wallet 0.03 Ledger wallet support * Alpha testing REBL Blockchain * Wallet 0.04 Trezor wallet support * Listing on Upcoin #### Q3 2018 * Listing on IDEX * Closed beta Testnet release * Whitepaper 3.0 #### Q4 2018 * Launch Mainnet REBL blockchain * Token swap * Blockchain wallet release – masternodes included #### Q1/Q2 2019 * Multiwallet integrates ERC20 functionalities * Business Dashboard and blockchain business tools * IOS and Android Mobile wallets #### Q3 2019 * Hardware development – Point of sale solutions. ### REBL Multiwallet The multiwallet is in full development and we clearly want to communicate our end goal with it. The end goal here is to develop one multifunctional cryptocurrency wallet that will support the REBL mainnet including all masternode functionalities, and in addition the wallet will support other cryptocurrencies and chains, starting with Ethereum and the ERC20 tokens. When the REBL ERC20 tokens are swapped to the mainnet, the new REBL coins will be used with the new Blockchain wallet. At a later stage the multiwallet will be integrated with the blockchain wallet. The reason for us to have already started on the multiwallet is because working with the integration of other blockchains is a great learning process. We are experimenting with never done coding and this helps the development team to evolve. Eventually this will grow REBL as a company. All projects that are undertaken in the REBL LABS will be in service of the community to provide more comfort and security for all REBLs and future REBLS to come. ### Shardax voting competition The Shardax 4th round of voting concluded and REBL has won it! We want to thank all of you very much for your perseverance and continuous voting. The winners of the Shardax 40 x 1000 REBL give away will be contacted shortly. ![](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmPNc7Rh4b4rgQE5nbE24wqbiJ6cmKgpTLDJH9bTLjWm4m/image.png) ### New exchange – IDEX More good news on the exchange front, a new exchange listing for REBL this week, IDEX! The IDEX exchange runs on Ethereum smart contracts and therefore the REBL ERC20 tokens will be available to be traded on the IDEX platform until we transition to the main net. IDEX is currently a hybrid-decentralized exchange. The smart contract is used for custody of funds, trade, and settlement, while the IDEX servers manage the off-chain balances, order book, and trade dispatching. The REBL market on IDEX can be found here: https://idex.market/eth/rebl ### Eterbase Despite these new listings, we can’t know if we have landed on the next big exchange platform yet. Therefore we continue our search for the best possible cryptocurrency exchange platform and we won’t slack in our efforts to find it. Eterbase is a European based cryptocurrency exchange platform with a focus on multi-asset support and regulatory compliance. Eterbase is engaged in the process of building a robust and fully compliant platform that offers a broad range of B2C and B2B cryptocurrency-specialized solutions. We have progressed through the first round of selection and now we have the chance to win a free listing! The rules: Each participant is eligible for one vote only. The voting process consists of a few steps before the vote is accepted. Read all about it and enter your vote here: https://www.eterbase.com/prelisting/vote That is all for this month’s update!

body![](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmcB9eM1ZnUXuzSjE11gJPmrQmZjrBw4zaRPgQvTju1vn3/image.png) Dear community, Recently we’ve noticed that there are some concerns regarding the (lack of) communication about the progress that we’ve made in the past few months. Furthermore we’ve heard rumors regarding the postponing of the release of the mainnet, and this to be in correlation with the current bear market. We would like to address these concerns and provide you with an explanation. **First of all we clearly want to communicate that postponing the release of any development due to market sentiment is not what we do. We completely understand the concerns, however we will never be affected nor distracted by market sentiment.** Some of the items we would like to discuss are the following: * Alpha release of the REBL blockchain and closed beta test of the REBL blockchain * Technical whitepaper 2.0/ whitepaper 3.0 * The delay of the Mainnet launch * Our communication and how we will improve it in the future * Updated roadmap. 2018 has been an interesting year for REBL thus far and it brought multiple iterations on core concepts of the project, step by step towards what we envision as the best possible and most complete solution REBL can offer. Working at a blockchain startup has proven to be a creative process and it’s proven difficult to estimate your goal setting in time perspective. In Q1 2018 we have envisioned a roadmap for months ahead which at that point seemed ambitious, yet realistic. The multiple iterations during the year have had an impact on the development progress and what we have learned by now is that a roadmap requires a continuous updating in occurrence to all changes of the development. The main additions of course have been the introduction of the masternodes and the inclusion of the auditing system for client blockchain. The whole ecosystem is affected by these additions and that so is the development process. These additions were not in the calculation of the roadmap that was set up in Q1 2018, so it has had an impact on multiple milestones on the roadmap. ### Alpha release of the REBL blockchain and closed beta test of the REBL blockchain The Alpha release of the REBL blockchain initially took place in March 2018 and the Beta release was planned for the following months in Q2. With some major changes in our technology, this set us back as most of the improvements consist of new code. This was a learning process that forced us to test more intensively. The Blockchain development has been an ongoing process and things have been going well. We have successfully closed our Alpha testing phase in Q2 2018 and progressed into a closed Beta testnet in Q3. ### Delay for the Technical whitepaper 2.0/ whitepaper 3.0 and the launch of the mainnet The earlier described setback is currently having an effect on the release of the technical whitepaper and the launch of the mainnet. The white paper is planned for release as soon as we feel comfortable with the testing results as we want to keep the number of iterated versions to a minimum. Therefore the delay of the whitepaper is logical due to the extension of the technological development process. Same goes for the launch of the mainnet. We are getting closer every day, but unfortunately we do not expect the release to be in the projected time period (Q3 2018). We are planning for the mainnet release in Q4 2018 and will work hard to achieve this goal. ### Our communication and how we will improve it in the future. To improve on our communication with the community, we have come up with the following plan: We will try to get more involved with our community more by answering any questions they may have about the project on a regular basis. The format that we think works best is by making a dedicated thread on our forum. Over the course of the week, anyone can post their questions and once a week (most likely on Tuesday evening) we will try and answer your questions directly as best as we can. Secondly, we will enable a channel through which community members can offer suggestions and ideas. We’re not guaranteeing that every suggestion can be acted upon, but if the idea is realistic, feasible and we think we can implement it within a reasonable time, we will do our best to make it happen. There will of course also be a reward for the person who came up with the idea! Finally, we will evaluate all the current channels we’re using to interact with our community. Some channels (like certain sub forums and Discord for example) just don’t have enough active users, and they are therefore unfortunately prone to neglect on our side. So our plan is to assess these channels that are currently underused and close some of them. Our reasoning behind this step is that we prefer to have a few channels where we can maintain a proper presence, instead of many channels that are dead. Our aim is to implement these changes in the upcoming weeks. We are working together with our community management team in order to find the best way to make this happen. Keep in mind there might be some changes or alterations to this plan, since we want to find the most optimal way of keeping you all informed. ### Updated roadmap To conclude this, We have always aimed to keep pace with the projected roadmap we have envisioned back in Q1 2018. But for the sake of complete transparency we’ve updated the roadmap to a more realistic roadmap that better reflects the current state of development. The roadmap will be published with the August Dev update. We apologize and take full responsibility for our lack of communication about this during the recent year. A big thank you to all REBLs for your continuous support!

We’re not guaranteeing that every suggestion can be acted upon, but if the idea is realistic, feasible and we think we can implement it within a reasonable time, we will do our best to make it happen. There will of course also be a reward for the person who came up with the idea!\n\nFinally, we will evaluate all the current channels we’re using to interact with our community. Some channels (like certain sub forums and Discord for example) just don’t have enough active users, and they are therefore unfortunately prone to neglect on our side. So our plan is to assess these channels that are currently underused and close some of them. Our reasoning behind this step is that we prefer to have a few channels where we can maintain a proper presence, instead of many channels that are dead.\n\nOur aim is to implement these changes in the upcoming weeks. We are working together with our community management team in order to find the best way to make this happen. Keep in mind there might be some changes or alterations to this plan, since we want to find the most optimal way of keeping you all informed.\n\n \n\n### Updated roadmap\n\nTo conclude this, We have always aimed to keep pace with the projected roadmap we have envisioned back in Q1 2018. But for the sake of complete transparency we’ve updated the roadmap to a more realistic roadmap that better reflects the current state of development. The roadmap will be published with the August Dev update.\n\nWe apologize and take full responsibility for our lack of communication about this during the recent year. A big thank you to all REBLs for your continuous support!",

body![](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmZa2Qk1UDm5csP8CpG4kt6C8esCXpQwy7xdcwHK4kQcoR/image.png) Until its implementation by Satoshi Nakamoto as the core of Bitcoins blockchain algorithm, a Proof of Work consensus (PoW) had been theorized and left mostly unused since the early nineties. Given Bitcoin is considered a dominant force in cryptocurrency technology, the common assumption is that all crypto tokens should adopt a Proof of Work algorithm for their own blockchain network. ### Proof of Work versus Proof of Stake Instead, an increasing number of developing blockchains, including Rebellious, are implementing a proof of stake (PoS) algorithm to secure their networks. But, if PoW has been used for years why should blockchain users trust a Proof of Stake consensus as an alternative? Why rock the boat? As you’ll see from the fundamental principles of both, Proof of Stake offers some pretty significant advantages over a Proof of Work model. It still contains flaws, but those flaws are both easier to manage and less likely to be manipulated. Let’s start by detailing the key points of a Proof of Work algorithm. #### How does Proof of Work operate? The Bitcoin blockchain network relies on miners to unlock the next block. By successfully solving a series of cryptographic puzzles they are rewarded in the form of bitcoin tokens. However, in doing so, running costs for miners is substantial. Solving these digital riddles requires a lot of computing power and equal amounts of costly electricity. As such, by investing in better or more powerful computing equipment, you have a higher chance of being the first to unlock the next block in the chain, a result of your increased hash rate. The trade-off is, in some cases, incredibly high electricity costs as some mining farms have expanded to the size of a warehouse, all in an effort to be the first to redeem the bitcoin reward. #### Hash Rate and Mining Pools We mentioned hash rate, and this is another crucial aspect of PoW that PoS doesn’t have, but for a good reason. Hash rate relates to the speed at which a computer is completing a task on a PoW blockchain. The higher your hash rate, the higher your chances of finding the next block to be solved, and receiving a token reward. Better equipment improves your hash rate, so, unfortunately, PoW networks have reached a stage where miners that have invested heavily in top of the range equipment to have a higher chance of receiving further rewards perpetuating the cycle. PoW doesn’t allow all parties to have relatively equal a chance at unlocking the next block. To remedy this, some miners have collaborated to create mining pools so that they can combine mining power and split the rewards evenly, with every member taking a share. While this approach goes some of the way to level the playing field for new blockchain users, it encourages further underlying problems through economies of scale. If a rival mining pool is larger than the one you have joined, they will have a higher chance of being the first to unlock the next block. While it is incredibly difficult to get to a stage where a mining pool could control over 51% of the network, giving them precedence over the unlocking of future blocks, the risk is still present. Controlling shares in a PoW blockchain could result in the authorization of fraudulent transactions, although in most circumstance the investment required to do so would be counterproductive. #### What makes Proof of Stake different? With the fundamental principles of a Proof of Work algorithm covered, how does Proof of Stake operate? Rather than letting every connected user have the chance to solve the next block, PoS opts for a randomized (almost) selection method. Any node can be selected to validate the next block as long as they have a stake in the network. That stake would be a deposit of tokens from their own wallet, and by increasing the amount a validator stakes, they increase the chance of being selected to forge the next block. The process isn’t completely random when it decides the next validator, but it still allows a linear correlation between chance and stake, resulting in a better reward opportunity model than PoW. #### Can all validators be trusted? Once selected, a validator must check that all the transactions contained within the block are legitimate, a process that involves verifying if it was signed with the correct private key and auditing the entire history of the wallet to prevent double spending. After doing so, they are rewarded with the fees associated with every transaction contained within the block. At this stage, you might be thinking, what stops a validator from increasing their stake to authorize fraudulent transactions? Firstly, validators would have to be selected, which even if they had an incredibly large stake, is still down to an element of chance. Secondly, if the authorized block is found to be fraudulent, their entire stake would be lost as punishment. However, this approach only works as long as the stake equals more than what they would earn in transaction fees. Furthermore, once validators want to withdraw their earnings and their stake a time delay is enforced just in case their previous blocks are found to be fraudulent, validators are unable to “authorize and run” with both their stake and their rewarded tokens. ##### The advantages of Proof of Stake Straightaway you can see that any users on a Proof of Stake network have a vested interest in only authorizing legitimate transactions; otherwise, they risk being punished and losing their stake. A blockchain network built upon this type of validation model incentivizes everyone to become a validator, a decision that is further encouraged by the lack of expensive equipment needed or phenomenal running costs. More users equal a larger, more stable network with a stronger cryptocurrency value. Due to the decentralized nature of PoS, it is even harder for any one party to control over 51% of the network and be in a position to authorize fraudulent transactions. Even though, as we alluded to, this is still incredibly difficult on the previously mentioned PoW blockchain network, it is still a possible reality compared to cryptocurrencies operating on a Proof of Stake consensus. #### Which algorithm is ‘better’? Proof of stake isn’t without its flaws. It is theoretically possible to buy a stake that is over 51% of the total market value and have a controlling share of the network. Realistically though, the financial outlay would not be worth the effort. The value of the token could put the cost of buying over 51% well into the billions. In addition, PoS has to be careful how it selects the next validator. If they are chosen on stake alone, then the same validators would be rewarded over and over again as they could increase their stake with the transaction fees. However, by adding in the chance for any validator to be chosen, you could end up in a situation where the stake is less than the transaction fees. The validator could authorize a fraudulent transaction and potentially still end up better off. ### Concluding on PoS vs PoW Even though Proof of Stake has some additional risks to Proof of Work networks, those risks can be managed and mitigated. The result is a much fairer network that costs less to run for all parties involved, with a much smaller ecological impact. Validators can have an active role in the network without being penalized for lack of expensive equipment, and by having a stake in the success of legitimate transactions the culture harboured is a remarkably positive one. Failure of the network would result in a loss for all validators. PoS fully encompasses the decentralized values that lay at the core of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology that we at REBL embrace.

body<html> <p><img src="https://www.rebellious.io/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/DEV-update-1.jpg" width="1750" height="750"/><br> Dear community,Since the beginning of the REBL project, we have envisioned REBL to be the coin of the people. We want our community to be involved and on track with all that is going on in the office. To keep you up to date with all the latest news here at Rebellious, we provide a monthly update each month, in which we discuss all events and developments since our last update.&nbsp;</p> <h3>Github</h3> <p>In addition to our monthly updates, we are focused on open and transparent communication about our technical progress. As the development process of our blockchain is in its advanced stages, we will be utilizing Github more often to share more detailed progress. In the coming months, we are aiming for regular delivery of updates and comments as we finalize the blockchain development.<br> For more information: <a href="https://github.com/RebelliousToken">https://github.com/RebelliousToken</a>&nbsp;</p> <h3>Development progress</h3> <p>The main net has undergone testing for multiple weeks now, and with a few iterations and a lot of bug fixes, we are getting closer to the test results we are aiming for. The thing with not being an ERC20 token is that the REBL network is subject to more vulnerabilities. These vulnerabilities are in our control, as we decide all variables and we set the parameters.</p> <p><img src="https://www.rebellious.io/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/photo_2018-07-10_14-01-09.jpg" width="1280" height="694"/><br> We must test for all scenarios such as the network being under attack, stress tests for network peaks, confirmation times, etc. For now, this is being done on a private test net. We are getting closer to the next step in this process and will soon invite all REBLs to take part in the public test net.The technical whitepaper to document all of this is coming. It is a work in progress, and we are busy updating this, but we have decided to wait and release it once we feel comfortable that most of the information and parameters are final.&nbsp;</p> <h3>REBL Labs</h3> <p>REBL Labs is a project that aims to help develop and support the community. The current primary focus for REBL Labs is expanding and enhancing usability. REBL wants to stimulate mainstream cryptocurrency adoption, and ease of use is one of the most significant current drawbacks. One problem we currently are tackling is the problem with ERC20 wallets. The REBL ERC20 wallet has been updated with extra functionalities this month: in addition to the Ledger Nano S, we now have Trezor support. We are planning more functionalities for the coming months and are currently expanding the REBL ERC20 wallet into an ERC20 multi-wallet. Even though REBL will switch to the REBL blockchain this year, we still want to address this problem as a lot of REBLs hold other ERC20 tokens besides REBL. When finalized, it will be a very secure and user-friendly ERC20 wallet that supports all ERC20 tokens.<br> <img src="https://www.rebellious.io/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/photo_2018-07-10_14-01-28.jpg" width="1280" height="720"/></p> <h3>Ethereum network</h3> <p>Ethereum gas prices peaked this week. Gas price has reached close to 100 gwei per gas for an Ethereum transaction. The network is clogging, and scalability issues for Ethereum are once again the talk of the day. It is affecting a lot of parties in the cryptosphere, for example, big exchanges like <a href="https://twitter.com/binance/status/1013767071522422785"><strong>Binance</strong></a> have to take drastic measures.Efforts to scale Ethereum are here, but still have a long way to go. It is something we have to deal with since it upsets our wallet usability and the reward claiming function. We are currently working on a workaround for this; however, dealing with these kinds of problems are not accounted for in our development plans. For now, we have to ask all REBLs to be patient and hope for the Ethereum network to change for the better.&nbsp;</p> <h3>Shardax coin listing</h3> <p>Round 2 of the Shardax listing battle has ended. Just like in round 1, REBL was amongst the top-voted projects. Unfortunately, it came up a few votes short to win the round. Round 3 has now begun, and all votes have been reset.</p> <p>We are again asking all REBLs for a call to action to vote for REBL in the round 3 voting battle. Round 3 will end on the 1st of August 2018 at 23:59.Please note everyone is allowed one vote daily!Shardax exchange – <strong>Please vote for REBL by clicking </strong><a href="https://shardax.com/votes/coin?coin=REBL"><strong>here</strong></a><strong>.</strong>Thank you all for the support, we appreciate all the effort our community members put in the REBL project very much! That is all for this month’s update!&nbsp;</p> </html>

When finalized, it will be a very secure and user-friendly ERC20 wallet that supports all ERC20 tokens.<br>\n <img src=\"https://www.rebellious.io/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/photo_2018-07-10_14-01-28.jpg\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\"/></p>\n<h3>Ethereum network</h3>\n<p>Ethereum gas prices peaked this week. Gas price has reached close to 100 gwei per gas for an Ethereum transaction. The network is clogging, and scalability issues for Ethereum are once again the talk of the day. It is affecting a lot of parties in the cryptosphere, for example, big exchanges like <a href=\"https://twitter.com/binance/status/1013767071522422785\"><strong>Binance</strong></a> have to take drastic measures.Efforts to scale Ethereum are here, but still have a long way to go. It is something we have to deal with since it upsets our wallet usability and the reward claiming function. We are currently working on a workaround for this; however, dealing with these kinds of problems are not accounted for in our development plans. For now, we have to ask all REBLs to be patient and hope for the Ethereum network to change for the better.&nbsp;</p>\n<h3>Shardax coin listing</h3>\n<p>Round 2 of the Shardax listing battle has ended. Just like in round 1, REBL was amongst the top-voted projects. Unfortunately, it came up a few votes short to win the round. Round 3 has now begun, and all votes have been reset.</p>\n<p>We are again asking all REBLs for a call to action to vote for REBL in the round 3 voting battle. Round 3 will end on the 1st of August 2018 at 23:59.Please note everyone is allowed one vote daily!Shardax exchange – <strong>Please vote for REBL by clicking </strong><a href=\"https://shardax.com/votes/coin?coin=REBL\"><strong>here</strong></a><strong>.</strong>Thank you all for the support, we appreciate all the effort our community members put in the REBL project very much! That is all for this month’s update!&nbsp;</p>\n</html>",
