      "body": "Interesting technology.  I do have a small issue with it though.\n\nThe only way to get IOTA would be to purchase it with Fiat.  That means a direct currency exchange.  There is no way to 'earn' it like you would with a Blockchain technology.\n\nShouldn't all transactions incur a fee of some sort to keep the flow of currency moving?  Otherwise there is no balance.\n\nI'm all for freedom and decentralization, but there has to be a balance to ensure that currency continues to flow around the system and not hoarded by a few purse holders.\n\nIf a purse holder only spends a small amount, and a fee is charged, then that fee gets put back into circulation.  This means a purse holder can't completely dominate the market.\n\nDoes that make sense?",

This is not a sob story, and I expect no sympathy. The consequences of my choices are of my own making. I will live with them. The point of this blog is to get my thoughts and feelings down, so I can reflect on my past. Perhaps others may learn from it._\n\nI don't know exactly when it began, but the first theft I can recall, I committed at around the age of 8.  Silly age I know, but it leads into a bigger picture.\n\nIf I can recall correctly it was while we were out at the grocery market.  My parents had wandered into the next isle, and I was looking at all the new pens in the stationary section.  Why pens you ask?  I have no idea.  They were just interesting.\n\nKnowing full well it was stealing, I grabbed a pen off the shelf, ripped open the packet and pulled out the pen.  I think mainly I was curious, but my step father didn't see it that way.  I got a clout around the ears, and dragged out by the scruff of the neck.  Straight to the car, and got an ass whooping when I got home.\n\nUnfortunately, for the following years I think my brain kind of took it as a challenge.  Can I actually steal and get away with it?\n\nFrom then on, I stole.  A lot.  Thousands of dollars worth over the years.  I wasn't incredibly intelligent about it.  I never tried to blame other people when caught; I never had a master plan.  I just saw stuff, and wanted it.\n\nBy the time I was in my early teens, I had ruined almost all of my personal friendships and relationships through thievery.  Looking back on it, it makes me sad to think I hurt so many people.\n\nUnfortunately, there's no changing the past, no matter how much we might want to.\n\n - I stole a camera from a good friend, to make a quick buck\n - I stole shoes from a girl I met in a night club, because they were Reeboks\n - I stole a discman from a flatmate\n - I stole money from my parents\n - I stole science equipment from my school\n - I stole clothes from roommates\n - I stole food from family & friends\n\nIn all honesty, if it wasn't nailed down, it was fair game.\n\nBy the time I was 15, I realized school just wasn't for me (more on that in a later blog entry).  I hated the teachers; I felt the curriculum was 'lowest common denominator'; the students mostly hated me, and by that stage, I just didn't care.  I quit school, and decided it was time to do something more interesting.\n\nI found out about a course near by that was teaching \"An Introduction to Electronics Assembly\".  At the time, this kind of work was quite prestigious.  It paid well, and I already had an interest in the field.  I'd built many circuits over the years, so this was simple.\n\nAfter starting the course, I met two other people around the same age as I, and we got along really well.  We had similar interests, and as rebellious as can be.  We hated authority, and thumbed our noses at it as often as possible.  How _dare_ the man try to keep us down.\n\nThe building where the course was held, had a vacant floor on the next story up that was unlocked.  We decided it would be a cool place to hang out.  At one point over the times we were there, one of the low hanging ceiling tiles got broken.  Not entirely sure how, but it set off a chain of events.\n\nFirst, we saw the tile was made of simple particle board.  Easy to break.\nSecond, we took turns breaking it up, so see how difficult it was.\nThird, we wondered how many of the tiles were as easy to break.\nFourth, we egged eachother on to try and break another one.\nFifth, we all broke one each.\nSixth, we thought it was great fun, and broke hundreds in quick succession.\nSeventh, we got phone calls from the Police, and our Parents were informed.\n\nYou can see where it goes.  Fines and a stern talking too, plus the cost of the damage.\n\nAs you can image, we were all kicked out of the course.\n\nFunnily enough, we never spoke again.\n\nBy this time, money was getting tight, and theft just wasn't cutting it. This is not a sob story, and I expect no sympathy.  The consequences of my choices are of my own making.  I will live with them.  The point of this blog is to get my thoughts and feelings down, so I can reflect on my past.  Perhaps others may learn from it._\n\nWe lived in relative comfort in my childhood (many moons ago).  We never had the best of things, but we had an old Black & White TV; my Step Father had a motorbike; my Mother had a car, and we lived in a simple suburb.  There was always food on the table and a warm place to sleep.\n\nAs I was growing up, I had some personal issues that would cause me to lash out at those around me.  This presented some rather difficult decisions for my Mother and Step Father.  I was selfish; demanding; entitled; egotistical and quite arrogant.  Schools were frustrated with my attitude and non compliance with the rules, and I was routinely given detention or suspended.\n\nI ruined friendships quickly and frequently.  To this day, I have no-one from my childhood that I can call a friend.\n\nAfter a few years of having to deal with my attitude, my poor Mother was caught in a situation where she had to choose between me and her failing marriage, a failing of which I was definitely a contributing factor.  As she should have, she chose her own happiness and I was sent to live with my real Father.\n\nI was not prepared for the world that awaited me.\n\nMy Father and his partner were living in a very poverty stricken town, with high unemployment rates and an extreme level of crime (though rather benign by today's standards).\n\nThe house they lived in was rented and falling apart.  He had a patched together car, and was constantly out of work.  They got by on government pensions, grants and get rich quick schemes.\n\nStructurally, there was nothing wrong with the house.  It kept the weather out, and the warmth in.  That's about all I can say was good about it.  On the up side, we had a garage.  Many did not.  The house was filled to the brim with bric-a-brac, and photos of years gone by.  Nothing was new or up to date, everything was well worn and probably donated by other family members.\n\nThere was a real culture shock as well.  My Mother and her partner were quintessential Caucasian suburbanites, where my Father was more of a native stereotype.  The families were also very different.  Where my Mothers family where spaced out across the country, my Fathers were almost living on each others door steps (some actually did).\n\nMy Father and his partner had two children.  One half my age, and the other still an infant.\n\nI choose to believe that this is when I finally started to grow up, at the expense of a myriad of failed choices.\n\nMy next blog will explore those choices and how they affected me, my family and the years following.\n\nStay Tuned!",

For example, maybe you want to know how to do a white balance, you'd search out the video, and in about 2 minutes you'll have enough knowledge to get it done!\n\nI'll keep posting more as I make them.\n\nThanks again!",
