| title | Exlusive Report: Internship to Rome - Part 1 |
| body | Hello dear Steemians! It's me, Ellie. As part of my examination to a child care taker, we have several internships. But special about this is, that we can do one of them abroad. It's like studying abroad for one semester, but for a shorter period. We were ableto stay 6 weeks in any European country. I've chosen Italy and went to Rome in September last year. We've been two girls there, sharing a flat and working in the same institution: the kindergarten in the German School in Rome. To talk about something that big would be too much for just one post, so I decided to make a report series (if you're interested). This one is about the preparation, the arrival and our first daysin the Italian capital.
Prep-time: Most important is how to survive. No mother making you dinner or wash your clothes etc.! It was great to experience self-reliance. A good thing is, that we got help from an organisation called "Erasmus". You receive money of them, but with the following conditions: we got an extra task from our school to work on while we've been there and most importantly: you have to organise everything by yourself. This means looking for an institution, a place to live (own apartment or guest family, we were free to choose), how to get to your destination and travel around etc. So this is what we did. Our internship started in September, so we began to look for institutions in February. Rome both accepted us immediately, so this is where we would go to. We booked quite cheap flights by Lufthansa and got our flat over AirBnB. I really recommended that page, so many nice people sharing their rooms and houses for (at least sometimes) a quite affordable sum of money! We organized it well and were very excited about the day of arrival. The travel was quite short, because the distance from Frankfurt (Main) to Rome by a plain is only about 2 hours and a bit. It was a big uncommon to me to travel with public transport from the Italian airport to our rented flat, because I'm used to short distance, which I mostly drove by bike at my hometown :)
Saturday: The day of the arrival, was very busy and went over quick. We've seen so many things that I can't even remember all by now. Our hirer was a nice, young Italian man and his mom. Only him could speak a little english, but it was enough to communicate. They showed us everything at our new home and then they left. Then we could finally settle down. we got a really great apartment for our stay in Rome, we had a big kitchen/living room and each girl of us had their own room and bathroom. Luckily, we had Wi-Fi, too, so that we could check where the next shops were. We even found a grocery store, which we already knew from Germany. I experienced, that grocery shopping is quite different in Italy: most things are more expensive, bottles are non-refundable, but fruits and veggies were relatively cheap, to my pleasure :D Besides that, we messaged our relatives back in Germany. They were happy everything went well so far. But our first independent day was over fast and we went to bed early, exhausted by the many experiences made.
Sunday: One of the first things I've recognized in Rome was the colosseum. It was my first time in Italy ever and abroad for such a long time. We arrived just a day ago and on the next, we decided to explore some part of this big city. Before we left the flat, we checked how to get to see a view points. The public traffic is actually well organized in big city like Rome, but it was hard to know without a time table or a map of the city. We wandered around and took our first pictures. The best thing about the internship so far? Definetily the weather! It was sunny and pretty warm, in Germany it was cloudy, gray and cold. I could get used to that ;) Monday: This was our very first morning view, where we waited every working day to catch the cable car. We never actually knew when the next one would be coming, because they always run late. But there were 2 different lines until we had to change trains and it was quite easy to remember. From the flat to the school, we were using 3 different types of public transport every way, which took us about 45 to 60 minutes, depending on traffic. We were looking forward to meeting the kids and the team, excited about what will happen. You will get to find out more about my work, sightseeing and other stuff in Rome soon! Hope you enjoyed this report! More content like this will follow. If you have any questions, just ask, I don't bite :) -E |

We've been two girls there, sharing a flat and working in the same institution: the kindergarten in the German School in Rome.\nTo talk about something that big would be too much for just one post, so I decided to make a report series (if you're interested). This one is about the preparation, the arrival and our first daysin the Italian capital.\n\n\n\n
\nPrep-time:\nMost important is how to survive. No mother making you dinner or wash your clothes etc.! It was great to experience self-reliance. A good thing is, that we got help from an organisation called \"Erasmus\". You receive money of them, but with the following conditions: we got an extra task from our school to work on while we've been there and most importantly: you have to organise everything by yourself. This means looking for an institution, a place to live (own apartment or guest family, we were free to choose), how to get to your destination and travel around etc.\n\nSo this is what we did. Our internship started in September, so we began to look for institutions in February. Rome both accepted us immediately, so this is where we would go to.\nWe booked quite cheap flights by Lufthansa and got our flat over AirBnB. It was a big uncommon to me to travel with public transport from the Italian airport to our rented flat, because I'm used to short distance, which I mostly drove by bike at my hometown :)\n
\n\n\n\nSaturday: \nThe day of the arrival, was very busy and went over quick. We've seen so many things that I can't even remember all by now.\nOur hirer was a nice, young Italian man and his mom. Only him could speak a little english, but it was enough to communicate. They showed us everything at our new home and then they left. Then we could finally settle down. we got a really great apartment for our stay in Rome, we had a big kitchen/living room and each girl of us had their own room and bathroom.\nLuckily, we had Wi-Fi, too, so that we could check where the next shops were. We even found a grocery store, which we already knew from Germany. I experienced, that grocery shopping is quite different in Italy: most things are more expensive, bottles are non-refundable, but fruits and veggies were relatively cheap, to my pleasure :D\nBesides that, we messaged our relatives back in Germany. They were happy everything went well so far. But our first independent day was over fast and we went to bed early, exhausted by the many experiences made. \n
\nSunday:\nOne of the first things I've recognized in Rome was the colosseum. We wandered around and took our first pictures.\nThe best thing about the internship so far? Definetily the weather! It was sunny and pretty warm, in Germany it was cloudy, gray and cold. I could get used to that ;)\n\n\n\nMonday:\nThis was our very first morning view, where we waited every working day to catch the cable car. You will get to find out more about my work, sightseeing and other stuff in Rome soon!\n\n\n\nHope you enjoyed this report! More content like this will follow. If you have any questions, just ask, I don't bite :)\n-E",

| title | DIY Ice cream :) |
| body | Good evening, my dear Steemians or just hello over there, wherever you come from! Do you know these hot summer days? And I know just the right against it: ICE CREAM!
I mean, honestly, who can resist ICE CREAM??? :DD You want ice cream, but you're too lazy to get some from the store? Don't worry, because you can easily do it at home! The variations are endless. Here comes a report for you including an actual healthy recipe for the best dessert ever! To prepare your ice cream, take the fruits of your choice, make cubes or slices out of it and freeze it. Tip: We are used to make bigger amounts of frozen fruits in the summer at once, so that it lasts for multiple servings. When you're doing it, make sure not to freeze just one fruit, it makes the work a lot easier in the end ;)
(from left to right: frozen strawberries, mango, raspberries and banana) Step 1: Choose your ingredients:

about 300 g of fruits of your choice

200 g yoghurt or curd cheese (choose however you want, changing its consistency; I prefer Greek or Turkish curd cheese; for me it has the best taste)

If you like to sweeten your ice cream, you can add a little sugar. I always use only little adds and a "healthy" sugar like almond mush or agave syrup. For this recipe, I use about 2 to 3 tsp.

Step 2: (no picture) Weight your fruit and your dairy ingredient (plus the sugar, if desired) and put them into a food processor or mixer with a high engine speed. Then switch it on until the ingredients evolve into a creamy, soft mush. It most likely looks like ice sorbet now and partly fused. If you cannot wait, skip Step 3 and go on to Step 4 and just eat your ice cream!

Step 3: After mixing fill the mush into freezable bowls. I have special ones for ice cream, but you can just use an old box of ice cream or some Tupperware! I made one for each fruit and the fifth bowl is a mixed version. You cann add whole berries to give it an extra shot of fruitiness :)

Step 4: Enjoy your ice cream whenever you feel like it! ♥ And when there's nothing left, remember your frozen leftover fruits ;)

To end this post, I've got something funny for you. If you don't have a clue what I'm talking about, check the link before ;) Enjoy! Vanilla - Ice Ice baby aka the stages of wanting:

When someone suggest Ice-cream: You've been sleepy and get awake in an instant, throwing a fist into the air and screaming for your delightful dessert.

When you see it: Your eyes grow bigger and almost pop out of your head. You open and close your hands and can't wait to get that creamy cold sweetness into your range.

Getting way too excited for that first bite: It's gonna be cold, but also so tasty! You need to try it nooow :3 but take care, that you're not overacting there!

It is so good you could bathe in it: Take care, little one, it might be cold, but it's just too good :D and who actually cares about it?

But then...BRAIN FREEZE!!! The moment you realize that you have eaten that soft cream too fast, but it's too late and it makes your head feel frozen! But somehow, that's the best part about ice cream, isn't it?
And when someone asks for a bite: you smile, you laugh a little maybe, then you're getting serious and deny the questioner :'D (maybe if he doesn't show further interest into your ice cream, you might be back into laughing^^)

And when you've had enough: you're so tired, you're so full, but you won't stop trying to get done with your frozen cream! :)

But nothing can ruin ice cream! Everybody loves it. (Inspiration for this is a very awesome video of little kids eating ice cream, it made me laugh every time! Check it out :D -> https://www.facebook.com/danielaminati.offiziell/videos/10152824515603236/ <- ) Over and out! Goodnight :) - E |

| body | Good evening, my dear Steemians or just hello over there, wherever you come from!

For this recipe, I use about 2 to 3 tsp.\n\n
\n
\n\nStep 2: (no picture)\nWeight your fruit and your dairy ingredient (plus the sugar, if desired) and put them into a food processor or mixer with a high engine speed. Then switch it on until the ingredients evolve into a creamy, soft mush. It most likely looks like ice sorbet now and partly fused. If you cannot wait, skip Step 3 and go on to Step 4 and just eat your ice cream! \n
\n
\n\n\n\nStep 3: \nAfter mixing fill the mush into freezable bowls. I have special ones for ice cream, but you can just use an old box of ice cream or some Tupperware! I made one for each fruit and the fifth bowl is a mixed version. You cann add whole berries to give it an extra shot of fruitiness :)\n
\n
\n\n\n\nStep 4:\nEnjoy your ice cream whenever you feel like it! ♥\nAnd when there's nothing left, remember your frozen leftover fruits ;)\n
\n
\n\nTo end this post, I've got something funny for you. If you don't have a clue what I'm talking about, check the link before ;) Enjoy!\n\nVanilla - Ice Ice baby aka the stages of wanting:\n
\n
When someone suggest Ice-cream:\nYou've been sleepy and get awake in an instant, throwing a fist into the air and screaming for your delightful dessert.
\n\n
When you see it: \nYour eyes grow bigger and almost pop out of your head. You open and close your hands and can't wait to get that creamy cold sweetness into your range.
\n\n
Getting way too excited for that first bite: \nIt's gonna be cold, but also so tasty! You need to try it nooow :3 but take care, that you're not overacting there!
\n\n
It is so good you could bathe in it: \nTake care, little one, it might be cold, but it's just too good :D and who actually cares about it?
\n\n
But then...BRAIN FREEZE!!! The moment you realize that you have eaten that soft cream too fast, but it's too late and it makes your head feel frozen! But somehow, that's the best part about ice cream, isn't it?\n\n
And when someone asks for a bite: you smile, you laugh a little maybe, then you're getting serious and deny the questioner :'D (maybe if he doesn't show further interest into your ice cream, you might be back into laughing^^)
\n\n
And when you've had enough: you're so tired, you're so full, but you won't stop trying to get done with your frozen cream! :)
\n
\n\nBut nothing can ruin ice cream! Everybody loves it.\n\n(Inspiration for this is a very awesome video of little kids eating ice cream, it made me laugh every time! Check it out :D \n-> https://www.facebook.com/danielaminati.offiziell/videos/10152824515603236/ <- )\n\nOver and out! Goodnight :)\n- E",

| body | Hello dear Steemians! I'm sorry for the lack of posts lately! I've been and still am ill and Chris is currently on a Metal festival, so he isn't able to post, too. We hope you did not miss us to much! As reparation, I will post twice today: for now, you get see one of my favourite meals. Potatoes with homemade mayonnaise and a huge amount of vegetables. We make it all in the oven and eat whatever we have at home :) it is super tasty and full of vitamins! To make them even better, add sesame or linseed to the potatoe wedges. Another dip to it could be curd cheese or yoghurt with fresh garden herbs or a feta dip :) They're all made at home, of course, because it tastes much better tahn from the grocery store! Additionally, this mayonnaise is much healthier than shop-made, because the liquid ingredients are a high quality olive oil and soya cuisine, which works similiar to whipping cream. BUT it has not that much fat and there are no sugars or no flavor enhancer added. I love it ♥ From left to right, youc an see first the feta dip, then the mayo and then the mix of herbs and yoghurt :) (I'm sorry for the low quality of this picture, it is made with my phone and I only saw how bad it turned out after we were done with eating :'D) On this last picture, you can see the complete meal. It is healthy and filling, mayb some of you will notice the missing protein. If you care about a good nutrition, you may liek to add something like chicken or for a veggie version a bean salad :) Have fun watching and enjoy your meal :) -E P.S.: Today you gonna see how I am doing my ice-cream at home! :) |
