But for the sake of this post: I do not care about your mood or feelings.\n\n**Nobody cares**\n\nAs much as people care at one moment in time, nobody really cares about it all the time. Try to remember this little life hack. The human mind likes to play tricks on itself by making it believe that every mistake or event will be written on their body for the rest of their life. In most cases, this is a big lie we tell ourselves to stay in our comfort zone.\nIn the grand scheme of things most people really don’t care about your mistakes. Most of them are too busy focussing on their own mistakes to even notice your mistakes.\n\n**But somebody cares**\n\nI don’t literally mean that nobody cares. You’re not alone. Nobody is alone. But asking somebody that never met you to care deeply about your personal feelings is not something that will happen anytime soon. The people that care are the ones affected by your presence or loss. Even though 99,9999999% of the world does not “care” about you personal well-being, the 0,0000001% that know you do care. One of life’s adventures is to find the people you want to have around you just as much as they want you around them. Hunt them down and befriend them.\n\n**Don’t think too much**\n\nWe’re good at thinking but we suck at controlling our thoughts. As soon as you see someone you want to talk to, talk to them. As soon as you want to do something, do it. The longer you wait the harder it will get to convince your mind to actually do it. Because one thing people are good at is thinking about excuses not to do it.\n\n**Mess up on purpose**\n\nThe best way to learn is to fail fast and fail often. Reflect on where it went wrong and improve yourself. It’s a great way to change your way of thinking. At first, it’ll feel uncomfortable but after failing a bunch of time you just don’t care about the failures anymore. Nothing and nobody can stop someone that does not mind failing. They almost always succeed because they’ll never quit and keep on trying until they figure it out.\n\n**Keep Improving**\n\nIf you think you know everything you’ll stop looking for better ways to fix the problem. It’s the impediment to growth. You can compare it to trying to cut wood with a bread knife. Most people, when they succeed to cut down a tree with a bread knife, will be satisfied enough to stop finding new ways to improve it. Even when you find something that works, you should never stop searching for something that works better! I believe it’s easier to accomplish the goal with an ax or a metal saw.\n\n**Change your surroundings**\n\nIt’s important to keep adding value to the people around you. You’re a combination and accumulation of the people surrounding you. The more they grow, the more you grow. Now you can either try to change the people around you right now or find new people to surround yourself with. And don’t even try the “oh I’m too old to make new friends” rhetoric. You’re never too old to make new friends. Friendships are not tested by time, rather by loyalty and mutual understandings.\n\n**Use your legs**\n\nDon’t feel pressured to do things you don’t want to do. (Most of) you have 2 legs and a mind. Use them when you need them. If you’re being pressured into doing something you don’t want to do or if you’re in a situation where you say something wrong, you can walk away. I’m not saying to just walk away when someone is talking to you or when you’re confronted with something you’re scared of. No, what I’m saying is that you have the option to walk away. It’s your life and you need to remember that at the end of the day, you’re in control of your own legs. Knowing you’re in control should be enough to at least face any obstacles.\n\n**Getting older**\n\nGrownups are nothing more than grown little children. They have not experienced or done everything there is to do. There are things where some adults cannot help you because they have never experienced or thought about it. While experience is a great teacher it does not always come to the right answers. That’s why it’s very important to become wise enough to know that you’ll never know it all. You won’t even know a fraction of everything there is to know. So all you can do is make sure that the small fraction of knowledge you have is enough to pass on to the next generation to help them grow.\n\n**Do more**\n\nYou have to do more to get more. When you tell yourself that you’re going to finish something try to finish more than you first planned to do. If you’re in the gym or working out at home and set your mind to doing 10 sit-ups, convince your mind to do 12 when you reach 10. I have a deep secret that I’m finally ready to share with the world. I have been in denial for a long time.\n\nAfter a lot of self-reflection and catching myself doing it over and over again I decided to just come clean and admit that I’m a Google-First-Page-Search-Result-Clicker. It’s a symptom which gives me a major bias in favor of the first google result I find after searching for something. By my definition, if you’re the first result on Google you’re the authority figure I’ve been looking for. Your wisdom automatically becomes my wisdom.\n\nI’ve been looking for a support group for the last couple of months but, to my despair, I haven’t found my community yet.\n\nPlease do raise your hand if you’ve experienced similar symptoms. I want you to know that you’re not alone! As a support group, we will help each other grow high in the search engines. So your wisdom can one day flow into other random people on this planet.\n\nThe number one spot\nEven though I can’t check if you really raised your hand I know that you most likely felt inclined to do so.\n\nThis because according to Moz, the first page of Google captures 71% of search traffic clicks and has been reported to be as high as 92% in recent years. Second-page results are far from a close second coming in at below 6% of all website clicks.1 If you didn’t do it before, I think it’s about time for you to start raising your hand.\n\nReaching on the first page of Google for a keyword with any amount of search volume can help bring (a lot of) traffic to your website/app![Number-one-spot.gif](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmaxv5rgYER7uKcwNykc2FyA9AmYyo1owriwyp7WWEPd5C/Number-one-spot.gif)\n\nThe SE-no\nI think it’s really valuable to always put in the effort to find counterarguments to any good idea or argument you might have. Don’t be that person that willfully lives in their bubble thinking you’re correct about everything you think you know. Challenge yourself. It would be of no use the anyone to blindly join or follow something that will be worthless by the time you finally get it.\n\nI’ve read some interesting articles where they talked about a decline of Google searches. There’s an article about how the Value of a #1 position on Google is Down 37% in Two Years or an article about The Shift from Organic Clicks to Paid. These articles serve a great purpose of widening your scope of view. They share some eye-opening points!\n\nAlso, don’t forget to read the comments underneath. Sometimes you find chunks of gold in there. If nobody sees you, you’re as good as non-existent.\n\nWe’ve been sharing content for thousands of years. I can see no foreseeable future where we don’t share or look for information. As long as humans stay curious, information will always be in high demand.\n\nSEO, which stands for Search Engine Optimization, is the art of ranking high in Search Engines by increasing the quantity and quality of traffic to your website through organic search engine results.2\n\nAfter reading myself to death and watching a lot of courses on Linkedin Learning, Udemy and other platforms I’m of the opinion that SEO should be a major component for everybody that wants to implement a long-term strategy to acquire people that are actively searching for the thing you have to offer. While the world is forever changing you can be certain that even in the future people will be searching for something. The first question you should ask yourself is: are you findable at the place where people search?\nWhile finding counterarguments is useful I’m of the opinion that in this case, you should not let the numbers fool you. Google searches might be on a decline but a couple of million searches per month less in total is nothing compared to the 3.5 billion searches we conduct every day. Trust me, Google will do everything it can to keep it that way.\n\nMy conclusion…\nNever forget that the search traffic clicks from any search volume are real human beings looking for something. It’s more than numbers, statistics and data points. All those things point back to us. We are the search traffic clicks. It’s we as humans that browse the web to find the things we’re looking for. Eyes on your platform give you the ability to change any person, a business or even the world. That’s why I’m of the opinion that it is very valuable to at least take a look at SEO to see if it’s worthwhile for you to implement.\n\n…and your journey\nDon’t worry if you don’t understand all the terminologies yet. Try out this journey as you go from dipping your toes to diving head first into the sea of SEO. Nowadays there’s an endless amount of places to learn everything you need to know about SEO. The best part is that the knowledge is already scattered all around the internet for free. “All” it takes to master SEO is self-discipline and patience.\n\nTo start off I would highly recommend you start with the free online book called SEO in Practice. The sharing part is when you upvote someone else's post, you get a piece of the curation (money/crypto) from that post (and vice versa).
