A través de la experimentación de la magía se convirtió en el padre de los efectos especiales y al darle contexto se convirtió en uno de los primeros en entender y atribuirle al cine su característica narrativa.\n\nSu película temprana Le Manouir de Diable (1896) fue una de las primeras películas de terror, convirtiéndose pionero del género.\n\nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mb16vp1eeYU\n\nSu película más reconocida es el viaje a la luna (1902), con la famosa escena de la bala del cohete insertada en el ojo de la luna que se ha vuelto una de las imágenes más reconocibles en el cine. Fue escrita por Welles y el también talentosísimo Herman Mankiewicz, de quien podemos conocer más gracias a Mank (2020) de David Fincher; además contó con el gran Gregg Toland quién para muchos es el mejor director de fotografía de la historia.
