      "body": "Memorise:\n \nFor who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it? 1 Corinthians 4:7\n\nRead: Proverbs 3:9-10\n\n9 Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:\n\n10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.\n\nMESSAGE:\nIn our Bible reading, we are enjoined to honour the Lord with our first fruits. What does the word 'honour' really mean? Honour can be viewed from the perspective of giving a person something he or she doesn’t really need. \n\nWe see a manifestation of this in the academia. When universities or colleges want to give honorary degrees, they look for people who don’t need money, academic qualifications or any such things, and they honour them with a degree. \n\nThis is why it is called an honorary degree. They give such degrees to eminent personalities, people of proven abilities and achievers in different fields. \n\nThis is comparable to the way God operates. What money can you give to the One who created the heavens and the earth? What can you give to the One who owns all silver and gold? He says to us, “If you come to the city where I reside, what is most precious to you on earth is what the streets are made of. \n\nSo what do you want to give me that I don’t have already?” Therefore, whatever we think we can give to God can only reasonably be given in honour of Him.\n\n“For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?” 1 Corinthians 4:7             \n\nWhen we speak about giving God something, is it really so? What do we have that we have not received from Him? If we have indeed received all we have from Him, it clearly shows that we are simply giving back to Him out of what He gave us. \n\nWhen we were still living in our first house in the Redemption Camp, my little children held a meeting in the room one Christmas season, and they sent the youngest, who was about four years old then, to ask me what I wanted for Christmas. \n\nI said I would like a jet. He said they weren’t proposing that kind of gift, and so I asked for a pen. He ran back to the room to meet the others, and he later came back to me asking me to lend him N10. \n\nI gave it to him without asking what he wanted it for because I knew the purpose. So at Charismas time, I got a beautifully wrapped gift. \n\nEven though I knew what was inside because it was bought with my money, I still gathered my children round and hug them, just for even thinking of giving me something at that tender age. \n\nThis mirrors the relationship between God and His children.       "body": "Memorise:\n\nArt not thou our God, who didst drive out the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and gavest it to the seed of Abraham thy friend for ever? 2 Chronicles 20:7                                                                                                                                                                                            \nRead: Genesis 18:17-22\n\n18:17 And the Lord said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do;\n\n18:18 Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?\n\n18:19 For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment; that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.\n\n18:20 And the Lord said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous;\n\n18:21 I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know.\n\n18:22 And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before the Lord.\n\n\nMessage:\n\nWhen you read through 2 Kings 2:1-7, you will notice that Elijah, Elisha and the sons of the prophets in Bethel, Jericho and Jordan were all very much aware of Elijah’s transition to glory and the day it was scheduled to take place. \n\nIn fact, they even treated the knowledge of this event like an open secret. One lesson from this is that if you walk in the Spirit, significant events will be common knowledge to you. God has secrets (Proverb 25:2). There are certain things known only to Him, which He may want to share with men once in a while. Daniel 2:22 says,\n\n“He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.”\n\nIn as much as God wants to share His secrets with men, if He looks around and finds no one qualified by His grace for such secrets, He will simply keep it to Himself.\n\n\n\"Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.\" Amos 3:7\n\nWhen you have a closely guarded secret, do you tell everyone on the street about it? I very much doubt you would do that. Rather, you will want to keep it to yourself, and even if you would tell anyone at all, it will be someone who is not only close to you but who is also trustworthy enough in keeping secrets. \n\nWho are those God will share His secrets with? It is His servants! If you are not getting divine information regarding crucial future events, it is most likely that you need to correct certain aspects of your service. \n\nWhen you serve the Lord, He will share some of His secrets with you. The more you serve Him, the more you have future information ahead of time. Also, you must be his friend. Abraham was God’s friend, and so, when God was about to destroy Sodom and He realised that Abraham’s nephew, Lot, and his family were there, the Lord told Abraham about it. \n\nThis gave Abraham the privilege and opportunity to intercede for them. Are you a friend of Jesus Christ? What is the level of closeness you share with Him? Friends communicate a lot. \n\nDo you often hear God’s voice? How often does He speak to you using various means of communication?       "body": "Jos. 22:10-16, 21-23, 30-34\n\nThe children of Israel would have waged an unjust war against the tribes of Reuben and Gad and half the tribe of Manasseh because “the children of Israel heard someone say “Behold, the children of Reuben, the children of Gad and half the tribe of Manasseh have built an altar on the frontier of the land of Jordan on the children of Israel side”.\n\n This report erroneously suggested to them that the other two and a half tribes have rebelled. They called it treachery, based on mere hearsay. \n\nThey hurriedly mobilized for war, but upon a second thought, they dispatched representatives to the two and a half tribes for inquiries about the altar and to dissuade them from the presumed treachery. \n\nTheir finding showed that the two and a half tribes did not contemplate rebellion or treachery at all. \n\nThey might have prosecuted an unjust, unnecessary war against innocent brethren of theirs. As a child of God, do not act on hearsay. \n\nVerify the facts to know the truth. Do not jump to conclusions, you might be wrong! Presumptions, assumptions, opinions are not facts and most times, they are subjective. \n\nDon’t embark on civil litigation against any person based on hearsay, presumption or your biased opinions. Verify and confirm your facts. \n\nDo not allege any wrong doing against any one until you have unimpeachable facts.       "body": "Matt. 7:1-5; 12\n\nThe Golden Rule is otherwise called the rule of reciprocity and it was taught by Jesus in verse 12. \n\n“Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets”.  \n\nIn verse 1 of the chapter under consideration, Jesus had said “ … and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you” We are restrained from being judgmental in handling disputes or controversies. \n\nGod wants you to put yourself in the other party’s shoes when you are attempting to apportion blame. \n\nOn the issues leading to dispute or controversy, how would you want to be treated? \n\nHow you want to be treated is how you should treat your neighbour. \n\nThis is the Golden Rule. When you defile another man’s daughter, would you want your own daughter to be so defiled? \n\nWhen you borrow money from someone else or from a financial institution or from a co-operative and you refuse or ignore to pay back, \n\nwould you want to be so owed and not be paid what is owed you? When you commit adultery with another person’s spouse, \n\nwould you want your own spouse to be violated and your marriage endangered? \n\nWhen you steal another person’s property, would you want your own property stolen? \n\nTherefore love your neighbour as yourself and treat him/her how you want to be treated. \n\nThis done, you will have no reason to engage in litigation.\n\nPoint of Emphasis: Treat others the way You want to be treated.\n\nPrayer Point: Lord, give me the grace to love others as you have loved me.\n\nMEMORY VERSE\n\nTherefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets (Matt. 7:12) NKJV",

      "body": "A Priest passing through his church in the middle of the day decided to pause by the altar to see who came to pray.\n \n![images (77).jpeg](https://res.cloudinary.com/hpiynhbhq/image/upload/v1519221851/pijb0u35oshyolzhhagl.jpg)\n\n\nJust then the back door opened, and a man came down the aisle.\n\nThe Priest frowned as he saw the man hadn't shaved in a while.\n \nHis shirt was torn and shabby, and his coat was worn and frayed.\n\nThe man knelt down and bowed his head, then rose and walked away.\n\nIn the days that followed at precisely noon, the Priest saw this chap,\n\nEach time he knelt just for a moment, a lunch pail in his lap.\n \nWell, the minister's suspicions grew, with robbery a main fear,\n\nHe decided to stop and ask the man, 'What are you doing here?'\n \nThe old man said he was a factory worker and lunch was half an hour.\nLunchtime was his prayer time, for finding strength and power.\n \nI stay only a moment because the factory's far away;\nAs I kneel here talking to the Lord, this is kind of what I say:\n \n'I Just Came By To Tell You, Lord, How Happy I Have Been,\nSince We Found Each Other’s Friendship And You Took Away My Sin.\nDon't Know Much Of How To Pray, But I Think About You Every day.\nSo, Jesus, This Is Ben, Just Checking In Today.'\n \nThe Priest feeling foolish, told Ben that it was fine.\nHe told the man that he was welcome to pray there anytime.\n \n'It's time to go, and thanks,' Ben said as he hurried to the  door.\n \nThen the Priest knelt there at the altar, which he'd never done before.\n \nHis heart melted, warmed with love, as he met with  Jesus there.\nAs the tears flowed down his cheeks, He repeated old Ben's prayer:\n \n'I Just Came By To Tell You, Lord, How Happy I've Been,\nSince We Found Each Other’s Friendship and You Took Away My Sin.\nI Don't Know Much Of How To Pray, But I Think About You Every day.\nSo, Jesus, This Is Me, Just Checking In Today.'\n \nPast noon one day, the Priest noticed that old Ben hadn't come.\nAs more days passed and still no Ben, He began to worry some.\n \nAt the factory, he asked about him, learning he was ill.\nThe hospital staff was worried, But he'd given them a thrill.\n \n*The week that Ben was with them, Brought changes in the ward.*\n\nHis smiles and joy contagious. Changed people were his reward.\n \nThe head nurse couldn't understand why Ben could be so glad,\nWhen no flowers, calls or cards came, not a visitor he had.\n \nThe Priest stayed by his bed, He voiced the nurse's concern:\nNo friends had come to show they cared. He had nowhere to turn.\n \n*Looking surprised, old Ben spoke up and with a winsome smile;*  'The nurse is wrong, she couldn't know,\n\n*He's been here all the while.'*\n \n*Every day at noon He comes here, a dear friend of mine, you see,*\n*He sits right down and takes my hand, Leans over and says to me:*\n \n*'I Just Came By To Tell You, Ben, How Happy I Have Been,*\n*Since We Found This Friendship, And I Took Away Your Sin.*\n\n*I Think About You Always, And I Love To Hear You Pray,*\n\n*And So Ben, This Is Jesus, Just Checking In Today.'*\n \nMany people will walk in and out of your life,but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart...\n \nMay God hold you in the palm of His hand And Angels watch over 🙏🏻\n \nThanks for your time! Before the lady could stand in the witness box a man stood up and the court room was silent. Everyone looked at Him. He was noble and gentle. He stood in the witness box and interceded on behalf of the woman. The case was difficult, yet He used all His strength, energy and resources to fight on behalf of the woman.\n\n After a long legal battle between the man and the accusers, the lady was set free. The lady fell before the man and asked *'WHO ARE YOU'* The next day the lady deliberately committed another crime and was sent to the same court. As soon as she entered the courtroom, she saw the man who interceded for her the previous day on the judgement seat. He was no longer a lawyer, but a judge.
