      "body": "# Some Background Info #\n\nI'm sure you have seen many reviews on this game already, but most of them are either pure love or pure hate. I hesitate to give a fair review because I have been a *huge* fan of the series myself. Actually, I would say more than a fan. I struggle to think of more things that matter to me more than this game franchise. To some of you that may seem absolutely ridiculous, but for others I'm sure you understand exactly where I'm coming from. So loving the series as much as I do, I feel the need to address some of the things that broke me out of the immersion and stopped just short of being the game I waited 13 years for.  ***Fair warning, Spoilers ahead.***\n![Untitled.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmekD7ci1RNPEMLKd7m9yvnm6dKEL7J96cV2H7oP3j6unv/Untitled.jpg)\n\n### Issue 1: Pacing ###\nThe first major issue with this game is the horrible pacing. Don't get me wrong, it's not the first Kingdom Hearts game to suffer from this issue. However it was never in a main console title. This issue can be slightly overlooked in the handhelds due to it being just that. You don't come in expecting the polish of a triple A game. Unfortunately though, Kingdom Hearts 3 does just the same thing as it's handheld brothers. It's very frustrating to see considering the fact that we **KNOW** they could have *easily* done it better. \n\nAllow me to explain myself. The game for some reason does this fantastic thing of dumping all the Disney worlds on you back after back. Half of the time, they offer literally no importance to the main plot of the series, and they reluctantly just feel like game filler. Just something there to give the game more playable time. It's honestly almost like they just said \"Screw it, can't have too much important information in the beginning cause then we will have to show meaningful character interaction.\"  Time restraints or not, I would have gladly waited a few more months for a story that didn't feel so oddly placed. This here brings me to my next section. \n![Death 1.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmQdogZaA4jWQeinAUp5n8BJQK2xPg9N6L9tmxGNsr51Rm/Death%201.jpg)\n\n### Issue 2: Character Interaction ###\nFor such a big cast, this game for some reason forgets about 70% of it's characters. It's so bad, that most characters never get meaningful interactions, or are just bootlegged into the ending for god knows what reason. It's seriously like, \"Here's some important information that may hint on how to save Xion. WHOOPS JUST KIDDING, you don't need to save her, she's already here!\" There are no hints to this happening, no meaningful way of it happening, and no forseeable reason for it TO happen. It's just there. Honestly, it hurt me a bit. Sure I was happy to see the gang all reunited, but I wanted a ***reason***. I didn't want to just be fed some fanfiction writing that just made everything perfect because that's how they appease the fans. \n\nI think that explains about 80% of everyone's biggest complaints about this game. We were waiting for so long to see how some of our favorite characters would come back, and how we would save them. When it did happen though, it felt... *easy*. It's hard to explain, but the worst part was that it felt easy and cramped up together. As I mentioned in pacing, since the game was basically throwing everything into the end that meant they had to save everyone back to back. This left little to no time for tender moments and characters reuniting that we've waited a literal decade for. We were kind of rushed through all these different emotions that could have been fleshed out just to get to the games ending. The most frustrating part is that we know that originally there was plans for a critical mode to be implemented. This is proven true by data miners who *found the selection option in the games files.* For some reason they thought it would be a good idea to take that core function of difficulty out of the game. I really can't tell you what they were thinking about when they made that choice. As of right now the community is just hoping for a patch that will enable the critical mode and give us a fair shot at something difficult. Kingdom hearts 2 has a famously difficult critical mode, so we know that it could have been amazing. \n\nIt's really just a big disappointment that playing on proud mode feels like normal difficulty. Not to mention combat already gives you huge life saving abilities in the form of attraction flow making the game *even less* challenging. You'd think that after seeing all their fans play and enjoy their games, Square Enix would know what should be integral to their core experience. Maybe this is just the inner child talking in me, but this game *is amazing*. I mean that with all my heart and soul. It wasn't perfect by far, but it did manage to recreate the magical feeling of when you first get the keyblade, all the way until dream drop distance and seeing Riku pass the mark of mastery exam. No matter what anyone says, this is a Kingdom Hearts game at it's core. If you liked the franchise before hand, you'll like this game. It did some questionable things in between and left some things ambiguous, but the ending was wrapped up in a neat bow and is something I wouldn't change. \n\n*My adventures with Sora are something I'll never forget. He's my childhood Hero and role model. He'll always be my Hero, and the ending proved to me just how right i am in that statement. If there is one thing this game got right, it's Sora and his personality. The very thing that got me to love the franchise in the first place was him, and it ended with him doing exactly what i thought he would do. Saving his friends no matter the cost. So thank you to all those at Square Enix, and thank you Nomura. You've allowed me to complete a chapter of my childhood, and I'm extremely grateful.*\n\n-Primelink",

      "title": "VrChat - What the Virtual World Offers",
      "body": "I've been gone for a long time. I mean a *really* long time. Some of you might wonder where I've been, others not so much. To answer that question, I've been busy with work and a game known as *VrChat*. You've probably heard of it by now as many people seemed to have jumped on the bandwagon. It's gotten popular seemingly overnight and took the online community by storm. For example, the dreaded \"Do you know the way\" Ugandan Knuckles meme that emerged from it. It's amazing seeing the community that sprouted from such a unique game. This review will be a bit different from all the past games I've done simply because there is nothing that's really quite like it. Without further ado, please enjoy my travels of the virtual world. (*All photos are my screenshots*)\n![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmdkjCubk1At1A3EZJiTzvx3YJrJJTezGJLtjByx3K9TLM/image.png)\n\n**The Beginning**\nThe first time I decided to play *VrChat* I made the decision that it was all or nothing. So I held my breath and bought an Oculus Rift. The wait was way too long for my liking, but eventually it arrived on my porch and I immediately dove into the game. The first thing you realize when you play virtual reality for the first time is that your body has no collision. Objects pass right through you and people do too. I made the mistake of playing with a balloon and trying to hug it, only to jump with fright as I realized the balloon passed right through my chest. A silly moment now that I'm used to Vr. After that frighting encounter I had made it through the tutorial and landed in the hub. \n\nThe hub is the basic world where everyone who logs in starts off at until they leave to a different one. I was so fascinated by this world alone I spent 3 hours there talking to random people. You might have thought I would have gotten bored, but the mix between meeting so many new and interesting people from my own home and learning how to control my hands gave me plenty to do. There was never really a dull moment, and this where I met one of my friends that I play with to this day. He was new as well, and so we decided to stick together. We made friends with a third person but he sadly hasn't logged on since. For example, if you have Vr you have a fully functioning upper torso. (*A lucky few who can afford it also have leg tracking*) In that way it can feel like you are really there. However don't get scared and think you'll lose touch with reality. I can *always* tell that I'm playing a game. The reason for that is that no matter how immersed you get, people around you are half of the time talking about the real world. You might feel like you are in a different place, but you are still always connected to reality. Besides that, you can really enjoy beautiful sights and sounds. The amount of beautiful places are limitless and the new people you meet at the places can always be interesting. Heck, there is a map of the *Titanic*, complete with a fog horn and big screen for watching videos with people.\n\nNot your speed? Well how about visiting some of your favorite worlds from video games? I've been to a full remake of Majora's Mask, Windwaker, Nier Automata's flowers room, Persona 3's dorm rooms, and Persona 5's coffee shop and Velvet room just to name a few. You got a game you love? It's most likely there or being made. The community is big on making things that people love and want to see. It's crazy how someones childhood wish of visiting their favorite game world is coming closer and closer to being true. For me, I got to visit Destiny Islands from Kingdom Hearts.\n![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmVtTh2XFSpxezqYMjmBq7xTkcmxX5G5EGCWmc9QSptXQS/image.png)\n(*Nier Automata's Flowers*)\n\n**Custom Avatars**\nOn top of making rooms, they make your favorite protagonist from anything you can imagine into actual Avatars.  You can play as the characters you love so much and even sometimes enjoy using some of their abilities. I wont lie, making avatars can sometimes be a pain in the behind. Having to find an MMD model of your character and rigging them with bones or fixing them up in unity can be hard to do for the first time. Luckily for most people the characters they enjoy most are probably in worlds that are easy to find. They are called Avatar rooms, and are pre-loaded characters you can click on to obtain and use to your liking. Some of them even have the ability to use weapons and animation effects. Some examples may be Cloud and Sephiroth from *FFVII*, or most versions of Link from Zelda. \n\nSadly there are a few characters that I would love to see in actual avatar rooms. One of those being Sora from Kingdom Hearts. I had to upload those myself. That in itself came with a few upsides though. I was able to play around with unity a bit and learn more about how to use it, (*Something I've wanted to try for a while now*) and I have the bonus of being able to switch to Sora anytime I want after changing avatars. People who just pick them up off worlds have to go back to that world to get it if they accidentally change avatars.  People  who upload avatars have them connected to their menus directly and can change at will. For example, I have a Sora from Kh2 and Kh3 and I am able to switch between them at anytime.\n![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmTBDNJRnuwxnynFe3T1sCmg87vMsbyAoCZX32bJRDSsC3/image.png)\n\n**Minigames**\nOn top of all of exploring all these cool worlds and avatars, there are *tons* of mini-games speckled in between them all. Some notable mention are things like Space shootout (*capture the flag*), Steel and gold (*Cops and robbers*), Bowling, Mini-golf, Chess, and even monopoly! There are always new worlds getting uploaded everyday and new activities with them. You can never really get bored unless you sit by yourself in a corner.  I would have to say that my favorite game is hide and seek. You get to hide while a person runs around the map looking for you with knife. It's really fun and scary at times. The thing that keeps me coming almost every night for an hour is the community. I've met amazing people and made great friends. So much so that we all have a discord chat together which we talk in daily. It's sort of amazing looking back and realizing that I can remember where I met all these wonderful people. They've been supportive and very kind to each other, and they always try to help with even personal problems. I can remember everyone because they have such colorful personalities. There is never a dull moment with them around and while we have had disagreements in the past, I am positive I will never forget these people. From the times we met up in the presentation room and drew instruments to make a band, to the movie night that we had the other day and watched silly shows and clips in the cinema.
