      "body": "To anyone who practices good business comes a life long possibility of success.\n\nIn order to understand this sentence and claim we need to define what good business means.\n\nBeyond the transaction that takes place in the exchange of value between two or more people is the element of people.\n\nWhenever people are involved there is a dynamic that is created to form what we know as a relationship.\n\n*In a relationship we know there to be several unspoken exchanges taking place:*\n1. **Empathy** - (i.e. listening and not just waiting for a turn to speak)\n2. **Empowerment** - (i.e. possible solutions to challenges or introductions that can be made to further an individual's cause)\n3. **Inspiration** - (i.e. Sharing Stories of Success and of overcoming failures)\n4. **Visioning** - (i.e. Exploring current projects further or dreaming new projects)\n\nIf you carry these elements into every interaction of business you have you will weed out bad business and keep in good business. Bad business being the lack of the above mentioned elements and Good business being the presence of the above mentioned elements. \n\nOf course it matters that you make money in business and I would argue that these elements are far more important if you want to be happy in business and not just paid.\n\nThanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed this and that you found a different way of looking at business.",

For example, you might already have email to nurture leads you’ve captured and adwords to compete locally. \n\nEach is a channel in your marketing strategy. It can be argued but it’s safe to say Apple is a thought leader.\n\nLink to Apple's latest product education efforts\n \n\n  \n\nPeople hate to be sold to, but they love to buy. \n\n  \n\n  \n\n2. Be prepared for the long sale: \n\n  \n\nThere are three different goals a podcast can fulfill but only two can begin without a built in audience of engaged followers. \n\n  \n\nThe two that you can start to go after immediately is building Thought Leadership and building Brand Awareness. \n\n  \n\nThe last one left is, Lead Generation and even though it might happen as a consequence of the podcast--if your content is good it will--it’s important to understand that the leads may take some time, results do vary and where some companies can take three to six months to generate leads. It’s better to focus on one goal and having the others be a consequence of your commitment to providing value. \n\nThought leadership, brand awareness and lead generation are different goals and it's an important factor to keep in mind because this will distinguish your content. It will distinguish your content from other types of content you’re creating and from other content creators. \n\n  \n\n  \n\n3. Choose the right KPI to measure success: \n\n  \n\nFor all the advances in technology audio streaming is one format that has the least reliable metrics to determine engagement. Most podcasters focus on downloads and although it's a nice number to throw around to people it can be hard for any podcast analytics to tell the level of engagement your listeners had during any one play of your epsiode. \n\n  \n\nWhat if someone listening gets distracted by a phone call or visitor? It’s not the same as a video where we can use heat maps to measure engagement. This is why your calls to action and content has to have clear purpose. \n\n  \n\nIn fact, a fun fact most podcast analytics don’t differentiate between a play and an actual download. This is because of the way an RSS feed works. Every podcast runs off the RSS feed framework. \n\n  \n\nA better way to measure the success of your podcast will be in the number of 5-star reviews you are able to inspire your listeners to leave on iTunes, Stitcher, and Google Play. \n\n  \n\nJust be sure to include this call to action in every episode. A positive review is social proof. Positive social proof is high quality social currency and social currency can be leveraged when you decide to publish a book, get people to show at your speaking engagements or even launching new products or services. \n\n  \n\nSetting a goal of getting twenty 5-star reviews within the first month would be a killer goal to have and one of the most important things you can do if you don't have an big following, yet. \n\n  \n\n4. If you remember one thing, remember good content is usually a damn good answer to a basic question: \n\n  \n\nWhat questions are you going to answer? For Who?   \n\n  \n\nWhat questions does your target audience have that they need answered? From augmented reality to artificial intelligence. Even cryptocurrencies. One thought that came to mind was how much of the senior latino american work force have jobs that are menial labor based.\n\nIf our current technological trajectory is any sign of the future, menial labor jobs will be the first to be replaced by AI robots. From irrigation and farming to auto shops and cafes. These are the staple jobs that many who immigrate to this country rely on for their income. Sometimes for over 2 decades.\n\nIf this happens we can only hope that there has been a grassroots push by these inner-city communities to foster the environment for their own literary education. Thereby ensuring their ability to continue to contribute to the economy in a meaningful way and one less excuse for extremes leaning politicians to use as a reason for deportation or closed national borders.\n\nThis brings me to think about the globalization of our economy as whole today. It's not that our jobs are being shipped out anymore -- the playing field, the internet, and the gig economy has made the most competitive candidates those who are educated residents of countries that have far lower costs of living. Allowing for their rates to stay less expensive to those with work to be done. The age of moving to where it's all happening, a major metropolitan city for the opportunity, no longer makes any sense. Your cost of living summing up to more than one weeks pay of a month, just for shelter, is what has driven many to build telecommuting careers.\n\nLiving in remote locations that have a fairly established internet infrastructure is the new equivalent in a global gig based economy.When we look at the senior populations, pre mobile phone and laptop era -- we can see the lifestyle divide.\n\nRecently I went online to look for books to purchase in spanish at Barnes and Noble and I discovered that over 80% of the books in spanish available for sale were theology based. I wasn't sure what this meant but my initial thought was that it must be a correlate of how entrenched religion is in the latino culture.\n\nModern education should be an initiative pursued and developed for everyone in the world. It just so happens that one of the most ready examples of a community that can make quantum leaps in productivity and innovation remains indoctrinated in part by their own volition and partly due to inaction.\n\nWhere one factor is that this community's ratio for nonfiction books in spanish to theology books in spanish is unevenly distributed -- to the other factor, where lack of personal initiative to seek out and translate nonfiction for our own communities or lack of education about support groups and their efforts for inclusion, such as NHMC, NALIP, LULAC and LPB of latinos in some of our most competitive industries today in our local LAUSD schools.\n\nThese are real steps we can take. We should not forget that our capacity for work ethic should not take precedence over our awareness of the tools available for our work.\n\nLatinos are hard working already, we just need to redirect our hardworking to areas that can make an impact on our personal lives as well as our local communities through education in the latest non-fiction ideas of the world and modern technological applications.\n\nGrowing up in Los Angeles as a latino american, first generation born citizen of the states, to an immigrant family, it was rare if any at all, to have a conversation about the local community or any community involvement in our lives.\n\nMy presumption is that having come to the country illegally positions you to work whatever jobs are available, no matter how grueling and hope that your children's teachers at public school can inform and develop in them all that they will need to succeed.\n\nLet's factor in overcrowded classrooms in major metropolitan cities and couple that with low earnings for those molding the minds of said youth and you have a losing strategy on both ends.\n\nWe don't have to keep doing this - we can be proactive and work together as families and as a community to improve community literacy levels and foster the modern technological education needed to allow for meaningful contributions from our communities to the world at large.\n\nWe can work together and we can set the stage for the coming generations of latino americans and all americans at large.
