      "body": "On Tuesday, IT giant Fujitsu announced it is offering a five-day program – available in Europe, the Middle East, India, and Africa (EMEIA) – that allows organizations to develop a minimum viable blockchain or distributed ledger technology (DLT) product. At the program's core, Fujitsu and each participating organization test blockchain business ideas that can potentially be implemented at a larger scale. Fujitsu asserts that if creators use this proof of business approach prior to developing a proof of concept, they can avoid many pitfalls common to blockchain and DLT projects.\n\nFrederik de Breuck, head of Fujitsu's Blockchain Innovation Center, commented on the program's intent:\n\n\"Blockchain and other DLTs hold the potential to transform organizations and entire industries. Inspired by high levels of interest from our customers, we have created this ready-to-go package not only to jump-start the customers' blockchain efforts but also to review and improve existing projects. Available immediately across the EMEIA region, we expect this assessment to have a major impact on unlocking blockchain's potential for business use cases.\"\nHowever, the program seems more suited to people without a pre-existing product. In an interview with The Register, business developer and lead architect at Fujitsu's Blockchain Innovation Center (BIC) Chris Pilling, described how the program could be utilized by clients who are seeking to develop a product from scratch.\n\nThe program starts with an introduction to blockchain technology, and then Fujitsu works with the client to define a problem, analyze it, and develop a use case. The next three days see the Fujitsu team develop a prototype and consider web applications and integration. On the last day, Fujitsu presents the product to the client and demonstrates how it could meet the organization's business need.\n\nThe program's framework puts the ball in the client's court: It is up to each organization to decide what to do with the product and the accompanying analysis. Clients can continue to develop the product, save it for later, or scrap it entirely. However, per Fujitsu's terms and conditions, clients cannot take their prototypes to rival tech companies.\n\nThe program is overseen by the Blockchain Innovation Center, which is located in Brussels, Belgium. The center opened on March 21 with the intent of conducting research and collaborating on blockchain projects. One of the center's goals is to expand blockchain technology outside of financial services \"as a new architecture for information systems and sectors of all kinds.\"\n\nOne of the center's loftier goals is to create \"the city of the future,\" with a focus on technology as well as \"sociological and demographic factors, societal organization, economic functioning and ecological challenges.\" Fujitsu said it will promote the research and development of smart city services in Brussels and other cities.\n\nFujitsu's productization program starts at €9,900 (approximately $11,560 at time of press).",

Investors must be allowed to buy shares at the prices that they deem appropriate, based on their assessment of the company’s performance and potential.\n\nThe government plans to raise Rs 80,000 crore this fiscal via PSU stake sale. Further disinvestment of PSU shares ought to be to the public. The large pool of subscribers with the Employees Provident Fund Organisation and the National Pension System are potential buyers of shares of sound PSUs. The government could market shares directly to workers, who could instruct the saving pools to buy the shares with their savings, and credit these to their own demat accounts.",

      "body": "The trade war that President Donald Trump has been threatening has finally started, with US tariffs of 25% on $34 billion worth of imports from China and retaliatory tariffs in China on imports worth the same amount from the US having kicked in on Friday. President Trump has threatened to retaliate against the Chinese retaliation. China has promised to return the favour. In other words, the US and China are likely to impose penal tariffs on their entire imports from each other. The rest of the world would suffer collateral damage, even if the US were to refrain from penalising imports from other countries.\n\nThere could be three different types of damage. One, if Chinese steel cannot find its way into the US, it could be dumped on other markets, triggering protective tariffs. The collateral damage such trade diversion can create could be extensive. Two, global growth could be hurt. Modern manufacturing runs on supply chains, in which the same product could cross multiple borders multiple times, to add value every time, before being incorporated into a final good for export. A trade war could disrupt these flows and even shift the location of the final manufacture, to avoid penal tariffs in the export destination. And, three, the likelihood of lower global growth, triggered by a trade war and the prospect of supply disruptions, could cause share prices to tank, initiating a flight of capital from emerging markets to the safety of the home market, making currencies and interest rates move in wholly undesirable ways. HSBC, Deutsche Bank, Citi, Standard Chartered and JP Morgan are among the banks that compiled the list.\n“The impact of treating a particular jurisdiction as high risk will be significant. Firstly, even regulated and low-risk (category 2) funds investing from such jurisdictions will have to undertake full KYC as applicable to a category 3 FPI (like hedge funds).
