| title | Long-Term Potential of Bitcoin Cash, An Oversight by Popular YouTubers |
| body |

Investing is a process that many don't take seriously and take financial advice from Twitter, Reddit, and, worse of all, YouTube. It needs time and research, yet, most of the current retail and part of the institutional investors are just pouring money to crypto, while having performed poor research. A much better approach is to select those cryptocurrencies that have a working product, a sustainable vision for mass adoption, and long-term potential in the digital economy. Bitcoin Cash has this vision and produces results, while many other networks currently above it in the “crypto-rankings” are either centralized or just over-hyped unfinished networks. Bitcoin Cash is the best bet any investor can take today, and it is encouraging to see a large part of the broader cryptocurrency community is finally waking up and decides to get on board. Victory is decided in the long run. The sustainable growth of a cryptocurrency is defined by a list of features and developments that can withstand the test of time. ## The Crypto-YouTubers Menace Crypto-YouTuber is a temporary job for some but one that enriches some of the most popular, like The Moon Carl and Ivan On Tech. Usually, these guys will just follow the trend and get paid to present and support (shill) projects. Sadly they will not mention which part of their content is sponsored, either. The influence of the “opinion” of Crypto YouTubers is a serious threat to our investment. Even if these YouTubers are not day-traders but supposedly analysts of the crypto market, their advice is always to be taken with a pinch of salt. As previously mentioned, the vast majority of traders are not performing great. I am not sure if some of the popular crypto-trader are getting paid by whales or exchanges to shill the top and turn bearish right at the bottom, but usually, this is what they do. The question we should ask when following the advice of YouTube traders is why any trader would turn to YouTube if they are so successful at trading? Do not expect to find a treasure if you follow the same path a million others did. Pave your way against the mainstream and follow the path nobody else visits. This is where the best opportunities are located.

(Made using [Imgflip](https://imgflip.com/memegenerator/Always-Has-Been))
I don't mean the trend is not an indicator, but short-term trading is speculation that leads to losses. Recognizing the short-term trends is more like gambling, so no, it is not wise to day-trade unless you have proven track of profit throughout many years. It is the same with everything crypto and in real life. The narratives, the promotional catchphrases, marketing, the communities, etc. A popular chart in the BTC maxi circles is the stock-to-flow model, made by an anonymous trader. The S2F model, though, is flawed by design (or by copyright infringement), but this is beyond the scope of this article. I just had to mention it, since it has some relevancy. Demand matters as equal as supply. Mass adoption is unreachable for BTC today since under Bitcoin Core the message was clear. BTC would not scale, but Blockstream (a for-profit private company) would develop second-layer solutions. After enough time (and research), we learn better how everything works. We stop just replicating words and narratives but think for ourselves and verify. There is no need to become a developer to invest. No investor can read the code and understand it completely. Even an audit for a smart contract needs a long time of consideration and conversation with the devs to understand exactly the intentions. Just reading the code alone can reach to wrong conclusions. After enough time, we have certain expectations from cryptocurrencies, and we don't just contain them by always comparing in fiat valuation. The risk is always there, maybe what looks like an amazing project failed for reasons we don't understand. It could be inside issues and fighting between different sides, it could be the decision-making process was flawed, inability to handle centralization issues, etc. It is not easy to know what is going on in the community either. Bitcoin Cash for example suffered two splits with part of its community moving to BSV and ABC. These two splits caused damage to Bitcoin Cash, but the remaining community seems to be more focused and better positioning Bitcoin Cash, with no personal agenda pursued. ## In Conclusion In 2017, YouTubers and many of the popular crypto-influencers were confused with the excitement surrounding the Bitcoin Cash community, so they remained on the sidelines, not taking sides until the dust settled. The outcome was not clear immediately and those with a better understanding of Bitcoin, knew the BCH side was more convincing since it was the one that wanted Bitcoin to reach mass adoption. Eventually, they followed the trend and today are not discussing Bitcoin Cash at all since there will always be conflicts and extreme toxicity from the BTC any time side one of them mentions Bitcoin Cash. It has become a hobby for some of these BTC holders and react aggressively on purpose. The toxicity of the BTC community is obvious whenever a Bitcoin Cash discussion opens by any popular or not cryptocurrency advocate. They are lacking in crypto education to know better. Attacks are always aggressive and toxic against anyone doing research and asking questions on the validity of the maximalists’ claims. This is how the whole BTC cult has been organized ever since the Blockstream infiltration days. Sadly, Crypto YouTubers are sell-outs at an upsetting rate. Probably getting paid by BTC maximalists to avoid mentioning Bitcoin Cash or any of the amazing new developments, such as SmartBCH. It does not matter to them if Bitcoin Cash has a state-of-the-art network, developments, and an increasing userbase. They just disregard Bitcoin Cash as they are not allowed to discuss it. Some of them may talk about it for a while, (and have done so under a certain financial arrangement), yet, they ignore it, later on, having in mind that if any kind of change in the overall sentiment appears, they will be able to quickly change sides. In gambling terms, the popular YouTubers are always -EV to our investments but sometimes contain great entertainment value. ## Originally published at [Read.Cash](https://read.cash/@Pantera/long-term-potential-of-bitcoin-cash-an-oversight-by-popular-youtubers-54815f8b) Lead Image Source: [Unsplash](https://unsplash.com/photos/8TdcamQZQjI), modified
Writing on the following networks: [Noise Cash](https://noise.cash/u/Pantera99) - [Read Cash](https://read.cash/@Pantera) - [Hive](https://hive.blog/@pantera1) - [Medium](https://medium.com/@panterabch) - [Vocal](https://vocal.media/authors/pantera) - [Minds](https://www.minds.com/pantera99/) - [Steemit](https://steemit.com/@pantera1) - [Den.Social](https://den.social/p/1b84a45bdbd543088ed5520388e4be02/) - [Publish0x](https://www.publish0x.com/@Pantera1) Follow me on social media: [Twitter](https://twitter.com/Panterabch) - [LinkedIn](https://www.linkedin.com/in/panterabch/) - [Email]([email protected])

***Don't forget to Subscribe/follow if you enjoyed the content!***
 |

| body | Thanks a bunch for your helpful comment. I will look at the article containing information on communities right away. However, I checked all the newcomers' stuff before. I'm not interested in these. I made an introductory post, as this is the right approach when beginning with a new platform, but I don't have time to follow any other procedures. I'm a content creator and all my time is consumed by that. I'm sure I am following the rules, and I'm always against plagiarism, anywhere I'm spotting it I am reporting. I'm not going to break any rule of course. Moreover, I don't have the intention of providing my real identity online. I don't have Facebook and barely given my phone number a couple of times for verifications, and it was leaked to scammers that are still calling me. Anyway, I'm glad for Steemit having these achievements and everything, but if I am to succeed in Steemit or any other platform, I'm doing it my way, with the content I have to offer. For the time being, I am focused on creating content in the platforms my articles have visibility and I've also used platforms where I just receive 1 view and 1 like on each, possibly from people that want to follow them back. I'm not entering circles, this is purely content creating. I'm sure that some people like it since lately this has become my main source of income too since our crypto investments are losing ground for the past two months. I always have time to respond to comments in my articles though. Thanks for the time you spared for me, and perhaps I will start posting in these communities and see if there will be some kind of better interaction and engagement with others on Steemit. |

| title | The Curious Case of the Bitcoin Time Traveller |
| body |

Almost 8 years ago on August, 31st, 2013, Bitcoin was gaining steam and popularity due to its currency features and a prolonged bull run. Price was a little above $120 and there was a lot of optimism for another serious bull run. On that exact date, right before the end of the summer, a Reddit account that goes by the name “ Luka_Magnotta” posted the user’s first article, containing a fictional story, similar to other amazing mysteries found in Reddit. It started like this: >I am sending this message from the year 2025. Things are looking bleak here, and some of you will carry blood on your hands. The Source of the Reddit post is found at the bottom of the article. It was a hoax and a very obvious one. However, the internet tried to find logic behind it, and until 2019 this post was often discussed on YouTube and was always a popular topic, mostly for the long-term price predictions for Bitcoin it contained.
.png)
### A Hypothetical "Transition" to Bitcoin (BTC) and its effects in 2025

The Reddit post describes a not-so-distant dystopian future, for the year 2025. It begins with the price of Bitcoin, and of course, this directly sets the stage. Bitcoin for 99% of its community is always just about the price. >On average, every year so far, the value of Bitcoin has increased by about a factor ten... From 0.1 dollar in 2010, to 1 dollar in 2011, to 10 dollar in 2012, to 100 dollar in 2013. Bitcoin in April 2013 had another of its bull runs that ended at $200, starting from a low of $10 at the beginning of the year. It was 20x in just 4 months. Then it started dropping and the correction phase lasted until around the time this post was made. At the time of writing, the price must have been about $120. And here comes an interesting prediction: > From now on, there's a slight slowdown, as the value increased by a factor ten every two years, to 1,000 dollar in 2015, to 10,000 in 2017, 100,000 in 2019, and 1,000,000 in 2021. It wasn’t accurate though, except for the part the author predicted correctly $10k BTC for the year 2017. This ignited a renewed interest in this article in 2017 and many popular crypto YouTubers started investigating and adding the Bitcoin Time-Traveler to their content. However, the article went too far to predict $100k for 2019 and eventually it blew up. But the article wasn't just about price. It presented a miserable future for humankind with cryptocurrency partially responsible for it. #### The Bitcoin Citadels >"Earlies" (our term for early adapters), as well as those rich whose wealth survived the "transition" live in isolated gated cities called Citadels. This was the first mention of a Bitcoin Citadel. There have been long discussions since then and citadels have become the dreams of some Bitcoiners. They expect the rise of price for Bitcoin above one million dollars and them to become so important that living anywhere outside of the Citadel would be too dangerous.

The "Bitcoin time-traveler" describes the Bitcoin Citadels as a safe-house for Bitcoinners in the year 2025. An interesting article debunking Citadels as being even slightly probable is [this one](https://hodlhard.io/blog/bitcoin-citadel/). It gets more interesting though since events this Reddit user predicted are particularly relevant in recent days. #### Governments holding BTC >Governments tried to stay relevant in my society by buying Bitcoin, which just made the problem worse, by increasing the value of Bitcoin. Governments did so in secret of course. We already know about El Salvador, however, this example is the only one we have for a government that tries to adopt BTC as a currency. In fact, most in the crypto community still believe this will be a failure, however, many Bitcoin narratives are built on top of stories like this one. >ASICminer - 50,000 Bitcoin >The IMF's "currency stabilization fund" - 70,000 Bitcoin >Government of Saudi Arabia - 110,000 Bitcoin >The North Korean government - 180,000 Bitcoin This is what is mentioned by the “Bitcoin Time-Traveller” and the reality is not very different. There is no valid information about the North Korean, or Saudi governments but some major economies have decent holdings. However, there have been signs North Korea has been hoarding cryptocurrencies all this time ([source](https://www.investopedia.com/news/which-governments-are-hoarding-bitcoin/)). It is also worth mentioning that China holds about 195,000 BTC seized from the PlusToken Ponzi in 2020 ([source](https://www.coindesk.com/chinese-authorities-have-seized-a-massive-4-billion-in-crypto-from-plustoken-scam)). There was no news of these BTC being liquidated or sold by China. Meanwhile, the US government also holds 80.000 BTC from a seized Silk Road wallet ([source](https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-54833130)) and the government of Bulgaria also seems to own more than 200,000 BTC after the arrest of Bulgarian criminals in 2017 ([source](https://www.investopedia.com/news/which-governments-are-hoarding-bitcoin/)). #### GDP and inflation/deflation >Economic growth today is about -2% per year. Why is this? If you own more than 0.01 Bitcoin, chances are you don't do anything with your money. There is no inflation, and thus no incentive to invest your money. The writer talks about his hypothetical 2025 scenario. This is also a valid argument made but a very simplistic one. Saying there is no inflation, doesn't mean there is no deflation either. And in this case, there would be very high deflation in the world economy, with prices of goods valued in BTC possibly dropping more than 2% yearly. Besides GDP there is a more important indicator economists examine. This is the real gross domestic product, or "Real GDP", or "Constant-Price GDP", which is GDP inflation-adjusted. For this case where prices of goods would certainly be moving lower, the "Real GDP" will be a **deflation-adjusted** GDP, thus if deflation is higher than 2% (minus 2% inflation) then the Real GDP will be positive. #### Anti-Bitcoin Terrorism & Bitcoin Thefts Surprisingly this author's creativity went as far as explaining that many of the Bitcoin millionaires such as the Winklevoss brothers were murdered by terrorists. The anti-Bitcoin terrorist groups are described as having emerged due to the damage made to the societies after the transition to a Bitcoin currency system. >Most people who own any significant amount of Bitcoin no longer speak to their families and lost their friends, because they had to change their identities >Many people were taken hostage, and thus, it is suspected that 25% percent of "Bitcoin rich" actually physically tortured someone to get him to spill his password. >In Africa, surveys show that an estimated 70% of people believe that Bitcoin was invented by the devil himself. It's a very sensitive issue that today is generally referred to as "the tragedy". At this point, the imagination of the writer was running wild and expressed that he was also part of a terrorist group trying to avenge the destruction and warn us (the 2013 present) about what is coming. >I am part of an underground network, who seek to launch a coordinated attack against the very infrastructure of the Internet itself. We have at our disposal about 20 nuclear submarines, which we will use to cut all underwater cables between different continents. It is looking like a typical time-traveler scenario, possibly influenced by the movie 12-Monkeys which also has some similarities with a group of people trying to visit the past and stop the spread of a virus. The virus in this case is replaced by Bitcoin. #### Governments pushed Bitcoin adoption! It gets even more interesting and very relevant to today's events, in El Salvador. >Governments gave their own citizens cell phones for free, tied to their government ID, and thus government sought to integrate Bitcoin into their economy. All went well, until "the tragedy" that is. A criminal organization, believed to be located in Russia, exploited a hardware fault in the government issued cell phones. We all understand the issues that can arise with centralized custodial wallets. Not your keys, not your Crypto, always remember that. This imaginary event expressed above, is not far from reality. Even if a government doesn’t adopt any cryptocurrency, the point of ownership is the private keys. This is the concept of financial freedom and governments are still try to understand it in its entirety. #### Ending It ends like this: >It doesn't have to be like this. You do not have to share our fate. I don't know how, but you must find a way to destroy this godforsaken project in its infancy. I know this is a difficult thing to ask of you. You believed you were helping the world by eliminating the central banking cartel that governs your economies. However, I have seen where it ends. A futile attempt since nobody listened. The post ends like this and in fact, it is considered to have been a precursor to the second part of the Bitcoin bull run of 2013. When it was posted Bitcoin started rising again after four months of consolidation. (A BTC price movement that resembles the current one). By August, 31st, 2013, Bitcoin had regained strength and moving towards the $1,000 mark which it did hit four months later.
.png)
### Failed prediction - Explanation and criticism of BTC by the author The article failed when in 2018 the price predictions were not met, and in 2019 the same user edited the post and gave a speech with environmental concerns, which I share, but do not think is the main point Bitcoin (the BTC version) is not going to succeed. While some facts this person mentioned were true he still missed the point completely and was looking like just another speculator from 2013, a "hodler" that cared more for the short term price gains than the bigger picture. I would have preferred it if this person understood the fact that Bitcoin failed to scale and became a speculative instrument for whales and a few wealthy individuals, and later on for some institutions that joined the party. However, some are just there for the riches and don't look into it too much. The "hodlers" sold everything by the end of 2017 and most of them didn't look back. I'm not blaming for accusing BTC of having failed, but for some of the reasons this person gave. The real reason Bitcoin (BTC) failed was not the energy consumption and not the Chinese and not the ecological damage. It is the scaling part that damaged Bitcoin. In case BTC followed just a few minor changes to increase block size it would be today massively adopted by 40% of the world's population. #### The username controversy ("Luka_Magnotta") Another interesting fact outside the scope of time travel is the username the author selected for this Reddit account. This name is famous, for very wrong reasons. I do not want to go into details about that, I will just say this is the name of a murderer currently serving jail time and possibly never to be released. Someone selecting to use it as a nickname to any platform is on a very different level or trolling. Maybe this name was selected intenting anyone would immediately understand this article wasn’t going to contain something valid but anyway, it is surprising the least.
.png)
### Closing Thoughts

Even though the article has been dismissed by its author, who also denounced Bitcoin, still we can't deny the fact this writer has given some predictions that not only sounded logical but also a few of these are similar to events unfolding today. Bitcoin has failed to scale on-chain, yet the Bitcoin community has supported the custodial wallet “Strike” in the case of El Salvador. There were almost no remarks and no reaction from any part of the BTC community about that. Moreover, all Bitcoin maximalists supported and promoted the idea of Bitcoin being forced as a currency option for El Salvador. My position as well as others from the Bitcoin Cash community was clear.

Source: Noise Cash, Channel: Crypto Twitter
I wrote this on Noise.Cash the day the El Salvador deal was announced. I felt like that and as I suspected it was going to be even worse since Tether was also involved. Moreover, with Blockstream currently trying to enter negotiations, by putting its Liquid network on the table, it becomes even more complicated than initially expected. And the Bitcoin community is backing this since there is nothing else that pulls the strings but Blockstream. The centralization of power inside Bitcoin (BTC) by a few developers and a third-party company is very obvious at this stage. The Bitcoin Time-Traveller (in the 2019 edit) also discussed about the developers and expressed environmental concerns, which are also something worth considering, however didn’t mention, or wondered about the centralization of development under Bitcoin Core, mostly because these concerns were brought up right after the 2013 bull run ended.
.png)
Originally posted at : [Read.Cash](https://read.cash/@Pantera/the-curious-case-of-the-bitcoin-time-traveller-f729cf80) References: [Reddit: I am a time-traveler from the future...](https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1lfobc/i_am_a_timetraveler_from_the_future_here_to_beg/) --- Images Lead & First Image: [Vocal](https://vocal.media/futurism/the-time-traveler-prologue) Second Image : [Medium](https://cryptocurrencyhub.io/the-citadel-the-emergence-of-bitcoin-utopianism-eb44ddf76290) Third Image: [What If Show](https://whatifshow.com/what-if-you-met-a-time-traveler/) Fourth Image: [Pearl Post]() Image of the day: [Unsplash](https://unsplash.com/photos/GO5o_9cvF_8) --- Writing on the following networks: [Noise Cash](https://noise.cash/u/Pantera99) [Read Cash](https://read.cash/@Pantera) [Steemit](https://steemit.com/@pantera1) [Hive](https://hive.blog/@pantera1) [Medium](https://medium.com/@panterabch) [Vocal](https://vocal.media/authors/pantera) [Minds](https://www.minds.com/pantera99/) [Vocal.Media](https://vocal.media/authors/pantera) [Den.Social](https://den.social/p/1b84a45bdbd543088ed5520388e4be02/)(inactive) [Publish0x](https://www.publish0x.com/@Pantera1)(inactive) I'm also active on the following social media: [Twitter](https://twitter.com/Panterabch) [Reddit](https://www.reddit.com/user/PanteraBCH) [LinkedIn](https://www.linkedin.com/in/panterabch/)
.png)
|

However, there have been signs North Korea has been hoarding cryptocurrencies all this time ([source](https://www.investopedia.com/news/which-governments-are-hoarding-bitcoin/)).\n\nIt is also worth mentioning that China holds about 195,000 BTC seized from the PlusToken Ponzi in 2020 ([source](https://www.coindesk.com/chinese-authorities-have-seized-a-massive-4-billion-in-crypto-from-plustoken-scam)). There was no news of these BTC being liquidated or sold by China.\n\nMeanwhile, the US government also holds 80.000 BTC from a seized Silk Road wallet ([source](https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-54833130)) and the government of Bulgaria also seems to own more than 200,000 BTC after the arrest of Bulgarian criminals in 2017 ([source](https://www.investopedia.com/news/which-governments-are-hoarding-bitcoin/)).\n\n#### GDP and inflation/deflation\n\n>Economic growth today is about -2% per year. Why is this? If you own more than 0.01 Bitcoin, chances are you don't do anything with your money. There is no inflation, and thus no incentive to invest your money.\n\nThe writer talks about his hypothetical 2025 scenario. This is also a valid argument made but a very simplistic one. Saying there is no inflation, doesn't mean there is no deflation either. And in this case, there would be very high deflation in the world economy, with prices of goods valued in BTC possibly dropping more than 2% yearly.\n\nBesides GDP there is a more important indicator economists examine. This is the real gross domestic product, or \"Real GDP\", or \"Constant-Price GDP\", which is GDP inflation-adjusted. For this case where prices of goods would certainly be moving lower, the \"Real GDP\" will be a **deflation-adjusted** GDP, thus if deflation is higher than 2% (minus 2% inflation) then the Real GDP will be positive.\n\n#### Anti-Bitcoin Terrorism & Bitcoin Thefts\nSurprisingly this author's creativity went as far as explaining that many of the Bitcoin millionaires such as the Winklevoss brothers were murdered by terrorists. The anti-Bitcoin terrorist groups are described as having emerged due to the damage made to the societies after the transition to a Bitcoin currency system.\n\n>Most people who own any significant amount of Bitcoin no longer speak to their families and lost their friends, because they had to change their identities\n\n>Many people were taken hostage, and thus, it is suspected that 25% percent of \"Bitcoin rich\" actually physically tortured someone to get him to spill his password.\n\n>In Africa, surveys show that an estimated 70% of people believe that Bitcoin was invented by the devil himself. It's a very sensitive issue that today is generally referred to as \"the tragedy\". \n\nAt this point, the imagination of the writer was running wild and expressed that he was also part of a terrorist group trying to avenge the destruction and warn us (the 2013 present) about what is coming.\n\n>I am part of an underground network, who seek to launch a coordinated attack against the very infrastructure of the Internet itself. We have at our disposal about 20 nuclear submarines, which we will use to cut all underwater cables between different continents.\n\nIt is looking like a typical time-traveler scenario, possibly influenced by the movie 12-Monkeys which also has some similarities with a group of people trying to visit the past and stop the spread of a virus. The virus in this case is replaced by Bitcoin.\n\n#### Governments pushed Bitcoin adoption!\n\nIt gets even more interesting and very relevant to today's events, in El Salvador.\n\n>Governments gave their own citizens cell phones for free, tied to their government ID, and thus government sought to integrate Bitcoin into their economy. All went well, until \"the tragedy\" that is. A criminal organization, believed to be located in Russia, exploited a hardware fault in the government issued cell phones.\n\nWe all understand the issues that can arise with centralized custodial wallets. Not your keys, not your Crypto, always remember that. This imaginary event expressed above, is not far from reality. Even if a government doesn’t adopt any cryptocurrency, the point of ownership is the private keys. This is the concept of financial freedom and governments are still try to understand it in its entirety.\n\n#### Ending\n\nIt ends like this:\n\n>It doesn't have to be like this. You do not have to share our fate. I don't know how, but you must find a way to destroy this godforsaken project in its infancy. I know this is a difficult thing to ask of you. You believed you were helping the world by eliminating the central banking cartel that governs your economies.\nHowever, I have seen where it ends.\n\nA futile attempt since nobody listened. The post ends like this and in fact, it is considered to have been a precursor to the second part of the Bitcoin bull run of 2013. When it was posted Bitcoin started rising again after four months of consolidation. (A BTC price movement that resembles the current one).\n\nBy August, 31st, 2013, Bitcoin had regained strength and moving towards the $1,000 mark which it did hit four months later.\n\n\n
\n.png)
\n\n### Failed prediction - Explanation and criticism of BTC by the author\n\nThe article failed when in 2018 the price predictions were not met, and in 2019 the same user edited the post and gave a speech with environmental concerns, which I share, but do not think is the main point Bitcoin (the BTC version) is not going to succeed.\n\nWhile some facts this person mentioned were true he still missed the point completely and was looking like just another speculator from 2013, a \"hodler\" that cared more for the short term price gains than the bigger picture.\n\nI would have preferred it if this person understood the fact that Bitcoin failed to scale and became a speculative instrument for whales and a few wealthy individuals, and later on for some institutions that joined the party. However, some are just there for the riches and don't look into it too much. The \"hodlers\" sold everything by the end of 2017 and most of them didn't look back.\n\nI'm not blaming for accusing BTC of having failed, but for some of the reasons this person gave. The real reason Bitcoin (BTC) failed was not the energy consumption and not the Chinese and not the ecological damage. It is the scaling part that damaged Bitcoin. In case BTC followed just a few minor changes to increase block size it would be today massively adopted by 40% of the world's population.\n\n#### The username controversy (\"Luka_Magnotta\")\n\nAnother interesting fact outside the scope of time travel is the username the author selected for this Reddit account.\n\nThis name is famous, for very wrong reasons. I do not want to go into details about that, I will just say this is the name of a murderer currently serving jail time and possibly never to be released.\n\nSomeone selecting to use it as a nickname to any platform is on a very different level or trolling. Maybe this name was selected intenting anyone would immediately understand this article wasn’t going to contain something valid but anyway, it is surprising the least.\n\n\n\n
\n.png)
\n\n### Closing Thoughts\n\n
\n
\n\nEven though the article has been dismissed by its author, who also denounced Bitcoin, still we can't deny the fact this writer has given some predictions that not only sounded logical but also a few of these are similar to events unfolding today.\n\nBitcoin has failed to scale on-chain, yet the Bitcoin community has supported the custodial wallet “Strike” in the case of El Salvador. There were almost no remarks and no reaction from any part of the BTC community about that. Moreover, all Bitcoin maximalists supported and promoted the idea of Bitcoin being forced as a currency option for El Salvador.\n\nMy position as well as others from the Bitcoin Cash community was clear.\n\n
\n
\n\n
\nSource: Noise Cash, Channel: Crypto Twitter
\n\n\nI wrote this on Noise.Cash the day the El Salvador deal was announced. I felt like that and as I suspected it was going to be even worse since Tether was also involved. Moreover, with Blockstream currently trying to enter negotiations, by putting its Liquid network on the table, it becomes even more complicated than initially expected.\n\nAnd the Bitcoin community is backing this since there is nothing else that pulls the strings but Blockstream. The centralization of power inside Bitcoin (BTC) by a few developers and a third-party company is very obvious at this stage.\n\nThe Bitcoin Time-Traveller (in the 2019 edit) also discussed about the developers and expressed environmental concerns, which are also something worth considering, however didn’t mention, or wondered about the centralization of development under Bitcoin Core, mostly because these concerns were brought up right after the 2013 bull run ended.\n\n\n
\n.png)
\n\n\n\n\nOriginally posted at : [Read.Cash](https://read.cash/@Pantera/the-curious-case-of-the-bitcoin-time-traveller-f729cf80)\n\nReferences: [Reddit: I am a time-traveler from the future...](https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1lfobc/i_am_a_timetraveler_from_the_future_here_to_beg/)\n\n---\n\nImages\nLead & First Image: [Vocal](https://vocal.media/futurism/the-time-traveler-prologue)\nSecond Image : [Medium](https://cryptocurrencyhub.io/the-citadel-the-emergence-of-bitcoin-utopianism-eb44ddf76290)\nThird Image: [What If Show](https://whatifshow.com/what-if-you-met-a-time-traveler/)\nFourth Image: [Pearl Post]()\nImage of the day: [Unsplash](https://unsplash.com/photos/GO5o_9cvF_8)\n\n---\n\n Writing on the following networks:\n\n[Noise Cash](https://noise.cash/u/Pantera99) \n[Read Cash](https://read.cash/@Pantera)\n[Steemit](https://steemit.com/@pantera1)\n[Hive](https://hive.blog/@pantera1)\n[Medium](https://medium.com/@panterabch)\n[Vocal](https://vocal.media/authors/pantera)\n[Minds](https://www.minds.com/pantera99/)\n[Vocal.Media](https://vocal.media/authors/pantera)\n[Den.Social](https://den.social/p/1b84a45bdbd543088ed5520388e4be02/)(inactive)\n[Publish0x](https://www.publish0x.com/@Pantera1)(inactive)\n\n\n I'm also active on the following social media:\n\n[Twitter](https://twitter.com/Panterabch)\n[Reddit](https://www.reddit.com/user/PanteraBCH)\n[LinkedIn](https://www.linkedin.com/in/panterabch/)\n\n
\n.png)
",

| title | Shift Your Mindset To The Long Run |
| body |

Without a doubt, this market is the most volatile out of everything else. Yet, chances are no matter when you invest, even an 80% losing investment will become profitable with enough patience. Hodl, is another word for investing and sticking to your investment no matter short-term volatility. There is nobody to trust but yourself in this market. One lesson I've learned after a while was that my original strategy was better than any other alternative. The crypto world has day-traders as influencers and frankly, none of them understand any market at all. 99% of day traders are losing money in the long run.
.png)
# Do we listen to these guys for financial advice? Do we have to sell, out of fear of short-term volatility? Why we don't look at the fundamentals instead, the reasons we first invested in Cryptocurrencies. While we are always looking for information in this mess that is the crypto market, we are often listening to all the wrong people and allow them to influence our decisions. Take a look at tradingview for example and all these conflicting analyses. All these amateurs are just trying to convince you they are pros. Each trader is making his own TA and each one has a different scope and different predictions. These traders only care to tell a good story and increase their followers. For all those day traders at tradingview, YouTube, and Twitter it's all about convincing that their chart has a foundation and is not just complete mumbo jumbo. I am staying far away from tradingview for too many reasons. The crypto traders have never helped me in any way and more than often they will convince you to make a mistake and abandon your solid strategy. They can only achieve to make you reconsider your plan for the worse.
.png)
# Learning To Invest
)
I don't accuse trading or the future markets. I find trading to have a purpose but I don't think day traders understand a lot about it. I think that the current system is not helping too many to manage this as an employment. What I am mostly looking forward to is investing advice. Holding more than 10% in fiat bank deposits is probably not a good idea with interests at zero and a possibility of high inflation. We Invest instead. Cryptocurrencies are a great investment and allocating a certain part of our portfolio is important for the long run. Possibly the prices of some Crypto we see today can be considered cheap. Either way for the long term it is an amazing opportunity to enter at the current point. Maybe prices will go lower but there are strategies (DCA) that help minimize the risk and increase profitability after a return of the bullish sentiment. I'm trying to find more YouTube channels with educative content on the topic of investing. Lately, Marc De Mesel recommended these three YouTube channels and I'd like also to provide the links because so far, I have found value in the clips I've watched: * [Patrick Boyle](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCASM0cgfkJxQ1ICmRilfHLw) * [Mariusz Skonieczny](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCiZPenkY59nqMJ29Hdw0Pig) * [The Swedish Investor](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAeAB8ABXGoGMbXuYPmiu2A) People like Marc are honest when approaching their followers and are always sharing their knowledge sources. We should be appreciating and respecting this since Marc is a positive factor for our financial information. I especially loved this video by "**The Swedish Investor**" that gives us extremely valuable advice and an understanding of long-term investing. It gives us the right direction which we should follow. It is 13 minutes long, but I recommend watching the whole video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=npoyc_X5zO8 I'd also like to explain at this point that Warren Buffet is not someone that the Crypto world should be ignoring. Any comments on Buffet being old and not understanding technology are just plain wrong. If you want to improve your investment strategy you should learn from the best. When Warren Buffet explains that Bitcoin is rats poison squared, he is not just trashing BTC. BTC is a network that had the fonds to dominate, but the decision process made it completely useless. Buffet has seen way more technologies come and go than what the Bitcoin maxis have. He perfectly understands Cryptocurrencies and BTC is basically useless and obsolete technology. Just the fact that BTC maxis are trying to decrease the significance of everyone that talks against BTC this doesn't they have better investing knowledge. Buffet once said that BTC is not producing absolutely anything and he is right about that. Nobody is using the BTC network, and BTC as a currency is worthless. Nobody wants to pay with BTC and nobody wants to accept it. Tesla tried and just a month later it removed it as an option. We should only invest if we will manage to get comfortable with the short-term volatility. A very good approach of buy low- sell high mentality, which unfortunately way too many times can go wrong when we have invested too much and money we can't afford to lose. Very important the part of this video where it explains how frequently we are bombarded with information. In the crypto market, this is even worse since FUD and FOMO are the two driving factors of this market for the short-term. Prices are manipulated by news and rumors, and some popular figures can even change the price trend. The advice that is given to not respond to the 100 daily market calls we get, is very important. We have a plan with our investment and targets. We calculate odds and wait. We only sell partially if prices reach the desired levels. And because all markets can grow a lot, we don't just sell everything.
!
Imagine buying Microsoft in 1985 and selling in 1986 everything because price doubled. It is a mistake to sell the assets you believe will have a great future. You can take some profit depending on price action but not exit an asset that has potential for huge growth. For example: In the case the population of a country is rising rapidly, then we can expect the housing market to be booming for at least a generation. Investing in construction companies would seems to be logical, Also, investing in real estate would be a great opportunity. In case the population is projected to keep rising for decades, then this kind of investment can only be profitable. A big requirement is a stable government. If the country is in a state of war or anarchy then investing becomes extremely high risk. Infrastructure can be devastated in these conditions and any development may stall for decades. Investment requires a healthy economy and a political ground that is neither extreme and nor increasing in size. Governments that are growing too big are ultimately destroying their economies. Small governments that only perform the necessary functions, like national defense, basic infrastructure, and modest market regulation to avoid the creation of monopolies and abuse of market leaders, are usually the most effective ones. I understand that some will disagree with this part, but I can explain as many are only thinking of their nation but not seeing how some models can't be attached to any economy. I also understand that China could not be run any way differently since that would have already led to divisions and a breakdown of the country into pieces just like the Soviet Union did. But for way too many countries some approaches discussed by a few people are just not feasible. Sadly there are some that think any certain model that could be applied to the US, will also be applicable to a smaller country without so much military power. This is not right though. Debt is an issue too and will become a very big problem any time soon. Probably governments are still stalling with Covid because their biggest fear is what is coming next.
.png)
# Conclusion Unlike traders, most investors are profiting from their investments. The long-run is always a win. Having a winning mindset is not difficult, you just have to force your brain to quit with the gambling habits. Investors also take risks but unlike day-trading, it is not a foolish risk. We take a calculated risk and diversify for risk management reasons. Read how Marc De Mesel analyzed his latest risk undertaking and how much organized and the well-thought plan he is currently executing: "[Took Crypto Loan/Debt For -2% of Portfolio](https://read.cash/@MarcDeMesel/took-loan-for-2-of-portfolio-backed-by-crypto-6d0eaa61)" If you want to try to day-trade just remember that you have better odds at a roulette table. It is a fact and you can find the odds of success when day trading by just googling about it. Day trading has damaged my portfolio too much back in 2017. Not just because I was making beginner mistakes, but also because this is how this system is made. It is like slots where the house will always win and even worse since there are so many distractions. Maybe you want to have fun and action and gamble money. It is an addiction for some. You understand the part about losing money though and where you need to correct your mistakes? If you want to correct then stop leverage day trading, learn how to properly invest, and instead of trading make a few trips around the world. A lot of countries have ended their lockdowns and are now open for tourists, even without vaccinations. If you are a losing day-trader there is no better way to quit and focus on something else. Start listening to those that have the actual information and not just draw random lines with random patterns. The financial world was very seldom about day trading and with the rise of sophisticated trading bots, and high-frequency trading, there is no way to beat this system.
.png)
Originally posted at : [Read.Cash](https://read.cash/@Pantera/shift-your-mindset-to-the-long-run-68f369fe) Images Info: * Lead Image Source: [Usplash](https://unsplash.com/photos/d9Cs-9I1fPo) --- Writing on the following networks: [Noise Cash](https://noise.cash/u/Pantera99) [Read Cash](https://read.cash/@Pantera) [Steemit](https://steemit.com/@pantera1) [Hive](https://hive.blog/@pantera1) [Medium](https://medium.com/@panterabch) [Vocal](https://vocal.media/authors/pantera) [Minds](https://www.minds.com/pantera99/) [Vocal.Media](https://vocal.media/authors/pantera) [Den.Social](https://den.social/p/1b84a45bdbd543088ed5520388e4be02/)(inactive) [Publish0x](https://www.publish0x.com/@Pantera1)(inactive) I'm also active on the following social media: [Twitter](https://twitter.com/Panterabch) [Reddit](https://www.reddit.com/user/PanteraBCH) [LinkedIn](https://www.linkedin.com/in/panterabch/)
.png)
|

"body": "
\n
\n\nWithout a doubt, this market is the most volatile out of everything else. Yet, chances are no matter when you invest, even an 80% losing investment will become profitable with enough patience.\n\nHodl, is another word for investing and sticking to your investment no matter short-term volatility.\n\nThere is nobody to trust but yourself in this market. One lesson I've learned after a while was that my original strategy was better than any other alternative.\n\nThe crypto world has day-traders as influencers and frankly, none of them understand any market at all.\n\n99% of day traders are losing money in the long run.\n\n
\n.png)
\n# Do we listen to these guys for financial advice?\nDo we have to sell, out of fear of short-term volatility? Why we don't look at the fundamentals instead, the reasons we first invested in Cryptocurrencies.\n\nWhile we are always looking for information in this mess that is the crypto market, we are often listening to all the wrong people and allow them to influence our decisions.\n\nTake a look at tradingview for example and all these conflicting analyses. All these amateurs are just trying to convince you they are pros. Each trader is making his own TA and each one has a different scope and different predictions.\n\nThese traders only care to tell a good story and increase their followers. For all those day traders at tradingview, YouTube, and Twitter it's all about convincing that their chart has a foundation and is not just complete mumbo jumbo. I am staying far away from tradingview for too many reasons. The crypto traders have never helped me in any way and more than often they will convince you to make a mistake and abandon your solid strategy.\n\nThey can only achieve to make you reconsider your plan for the worse.\n\n
\n.png)
\n\n# Learning To Invest\n\n\n
\n)
\n\n\n\nI don't accuse trading or the future markets. I find trading to have a purpose but I don't think day traders understand a lot about it. I think that the current system is not helping too many to manage this as an employment.\n\nWhat I am mostly looking forward to is investing advice.\n\nHolding more than 10% in fiat bank deposits is probably not a good idea with interests at zero and a possibility of high inflation. We Invest instead.\n\nCryptocurrencies are a great investment and allocating a certain part of our portfolio is important for the long run.\n\nPossibly the prices of some Crypto we see today can be considered cheap. Either way for the long term it is an amazing opportunity to enter at the current point. Maybe prices will go lower but there are strategies (DCA) that help minimize the risk and increase profitability after a return of the bullish sentiment.\n\nI'm trying to find more YouTube channels with educative content on the topic of investing. Lately, Marc De Mesel recommended these three YouTube channels and I'd like also to provide the links because so far, I have found value in the clips I've watched:\n\n\n* [Patrick Boyle](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCASM0cgfkJxQ1ICmRilfHLw)\n* [Mariusz Skonieczny](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCiZPenkY59nqMJ29Hdw0Pig)\n* [The Swedish Investor](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAeAB8ABXGoGMbXuYPmiu2A)\n\nPeople like Marc are honest when approaching their followers and are always sharing their knowledge sources. We should be appreciating and respecting this since Marc is a positive factor for our financial information.\n\nI especially loved this video by \"**The Swedish Investor**\" that gives us extremely valuable advice and an understanding of long-term investing. It gives us the right direction which we should follow. It is 13 minutes long, but I recommend watching the whole video.\n\nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=npoyc_X5zO8\n\nI'd also like to explain at this point that Warren Buffet is not someone that the Crypto world should be ignoring. Any comments on Buffet being old and not understanding technology are just plain wrong.\n\nIf you want to improve your investment strategy you should learn from the best. When Warren Buffet explains that Bitcoin is rats poison squared, he is not just trashing BTC.\n\nBTC is a network that had the fonds to dominate, but the decision process made it completely useless. Buffet has seen way more technologies come and go than what the Bitcoin maxis have. He perfectly understands Cryptocurrencies and BTC is basically useless and obsolete technology.\n\nJust the fact that BTC maxis are trying to decrease the significance of everyone that talks against BTC this doesn't they have better investing knowledge.\n\nBuffet once said that BTC is not producing absolutely anything and he is right about that. Nobody is using the BTC network, and BTC as a currency is worthless. Nobody wants to pay with BTC and nobody wants to accept it. Tesla tried and just a month later it removed it as an option.\n\nWe should only invest if we will manage to get comfortable with the short-term volatility. A very good approach of buy low- sell high mentality, which unfortunately way too many times can go wrong when we have invested too much and money we can't afford to lose.\n\nVery important the part of this video where it explains how frequently we are bombarded with information.
