What do I do?\nI thought Steem would make me rich, what's happening?\nI'll address these now\n\nWhy Aren't I Earning Much STEEM yet?\n\n\nFirst I'll say that while $2,298.9 is a decent sum of money. Not only was I paid for work and invest myself, but I did a lot of conversions between SBD and STEEM during massive fluctuations. I did many things to earn this money and realistically for 6 months of being on almost every day, it's not a lot. It's actually not worthy of being a side hustle because I wouldn't afford rent. Mind you I do a lot of other things rather than just try to make money here. I'm actually not \"trying\" to otherwise I wouldn't write for my mostly minnow audience. The point is it's not an easy solution, but we are working to make it easier and more accessible to be a partial solution. If anything it solves issues of censorship, security, transparency, and allows you to do some monetization on your otherwise zero dollars value social media content.\nThere are many reasons, but the simplest is you haven't tried it out long enough. First ask yourself these questions\n\nHave I really gotten to know this platform and its functionality and community?\nDo I know how to promote and market my posts?\nDo I know how to properly format my posts?\nAre my posts meeting a high standard of quality and or value?\nAre I posting to the right niche?\nAm I genuinely contributing or trying to make money?\nWork through those and if you can't say yes to all of them, then maybe Steemit won't be your full time job, but you can always still earn some money on here as a side hustle.\n\nRealistically you won't earn all your money here unless you pursue it as a full time job. Many people do earn a living from Steem and many never will. You may just be an average joe who wants to just share random pictures of your food on here which is totally fine, but you aren't going to get rich doing that. The second is basically that most people find their audience with consistency and returning fans. If you post randomly, very little, or just in a way that alienates your followers, you will struggle. I don't want this to be the case, but more or less the easiest way to do anything on Steemit is to invest a bit of money into bot boosting with your posts so you can get some awareness. Thinking strictly in terms of practicality, it makes sense. On a traditional platform you pay money and get promised engagements and you hope it all works out and maybe you'll earn enough to continue. Given you don't get flagged, on Steemit you can invest into a boost, earn some money as profit, plus get awareness, then earn back your original investment. In terms of dollars and cents and reach, it's a gold mine and it makes a lot of sense to capitalize on!\n\nI Thought Steem Would Make Me Rich, What Happened?\nWell if you'd paid any attention here, then you've realized that you get what you put in. If you are willing to put in the works and invest into Steemit with your time and money, you'll get more out of it. It is very challenging to start from nothing and work your way up, but it's possible.\n\nBecause Steemit is still so small comparatively to other platforms, you still have so much opportunity to grow and do more here. The longer answer is people trust brands and influencers and we simply need their endorsement to make Steem the next big thing. Now this is done via private entities who we have no control over and they don't answer to anyone, but because it's ultimately win-win, why wouldn't companies and influencers get ahead and get on this train? Well there aren't enough people and typically brands only inject themselves into established networks. This is why we have to show them why this makes sense and why they need to indulge it.\n\n\nWhat's The Next Step?\n\nFirst and foremost I'd like to identify marketers and entrepreneurs looking to get into this. I know if we target the right brands and influencers in cryptocurrency, blockchain, and technology, we could really do them justice and make an impact from traditional social onboarding to Steemit. Unfortunately I don't have any videos in this style that I can set to music. That is one of my goals for the future to have a team for something like this! I have cut the videos as well as I can so that video and sound fit together. It makes me feel. I just wanted to show how music can underscore certain moods.\n\nThe piece of music is very close to my heart, I know it's simple and not much happens but it's the first piece I've composed in my life. When I was 5 years old, one year before I came to school I wrote the main theme. Of course I added the octave fingerings afterwards, but if you listen, you will notice that a finger never lets go of the C key unless it jumps a few notes, namely only the major third or at most the fourth.       "body": "HI All, Crypto Sludge here.\n\nYou know that i like to write analysis about BTC when i see something special. So i think i do see something interesting.\n\nThis whole week the market had woken up, we saw some nice volume levesl and the price have gone up nicely. However all this action was on the lower time frames, the weekly and the daily charts have still remained bearish. Furthermore BTC had very hard time breaking 7500.\n\nSince 7500 was broken, we are at an interesting point, and although i am getting conflicting signals from my two main indicators, it is still an interesting position, if not to trade but at least to adjust strategy.\n\nIf we look at the daily chart, if the price will hold in the 7600$-7700$ area, we will have a technical breakout from the ichimoku cloud. A momentum breakout. This will in fact \\turn the daily chart bullish as well. The last time we saw above the daily cloud action, was back in May. From my experience bitcoin has reacted well to technical cloud breakouts, at least for a short while.\n\nOn the flip side, the StochRSI is in the oversold area, and if the price action continues, the next daily candle will be a TD9 Sell, which usually causes a short 1-4 candle correction and then trend continuation.\n\nA confirmation of this move, should bring us above 8K$ which is a serious psychological price point, I will personally \\hold out, and watch for the breakout, the TD9 should give us a clear trading zone for continued trend confirmation. Before spending time here, lots of crypto talk seemed like jargon that only people who \"understood computers\" could understand. Now I see that crypto currency is simply electronic money.\n\nHere is a list of some of the knowledge I've picked up.\n\nSteemit is not the same as Steem\nSteemit is an application on the steem blockchain. Steem is a currency. Steemit is simply a tiny little part of the whole Steem project.\n\nAn Exchange and a Wallet are different\nHaving a wallet at an exchange is like filling a personal wallet up with cash and then giving it to someone else to hold for you. For some people this makes sense, as banks hold our fiat for us, but exchanges are not like banks, they are more like check cashing places, or the tiny little huts all over Tijuana that exchange dollars for pesos.\n\nExchanges are not banks and you can have your own wallet that is not a part of an exchange. All of us here on steemit have a steem wallet. Similar ones are available for every coin you would like to hold.\n\nGold is cool but silver is gold\nSilver is undervalued and more rare than its market value lets on. Lots of people who hold crypto like to buy and hold silver. Whenever someone asks me what I can by with my crypto I like to respond: \"Silver... and dollars.\"\n\nSilver is not an investment that gains value, it is an investment that retains value.\n\nFree money exists\nYes Manna really does give you a quarter every week. Yes swift really is trying to figure out a similar Universal Basic Income Program (although yesterday they asked me for a government issued ID which made me think... no thanks).\n\nThere are also airdrops, blogging sites, and research pages that pay you to use their site. One billionaire playing with the market can make the whole system go up and down and all around. They can buy a whole lot of coins and make them worth more, than turn around and sell them. Everybody else that has low buying/selling value is affected by their movement.\n\nWhite Pages are where you can learn all about a coin\nAre you looking to invest some fiat or some of your well earned SBD into a different coin? How can you know if a coin is good or not? Blog posts and dtube videos are a good place to start researching, but those will usually just give you somebody else's opinion. In order to form your own opinion, you must read the white pages of the project.\n\nThere you will learn how many coins will ever be developed, what the useful qualities of the coin are, how the coin will work, and everything you need to know so you can make an informed decision before investing your money.\n\nIf you don't find the information you need in the white pages, it means that they project isn't fully formed. The project may still be a \"good\" project, but an incomplete white pages means there is a lot more work to be done.\n\nDust exists on Steemit\nIf your comments and posts don't earn at least $0.021 then the income disappears and turns to dust. The threshold varies slightly depending on various factors, but if your comment or upvote aren't worth a certain amount, the profits simply disappear.\n\nDecentralized\nThis simply means that the information is kept in many places and not just in one centralized location. I don't know why this boggled me so much. Probably because I couldn't imagine huge companies having all of their information at just one center. What if that center has an emergency of some sort and gets taken out? What happens to all the info?\n\nCentralized places depend on back ups and other systems of protection. Decentralized means that you can't destroy it at the center because the information exists in many different places.\n\nA MarketCap is the most value a coin can hold\nThe Market Cap of Steem right now (May 6 Sun 9:41 PM Pacific Time) is: $903,772,962. That means that the most money our collective Steem project right now is worth: $903,772,962.\n\nIf you are trying to earn billions this year on Steemit, then the market cap must go up. When the value of steem goes up, the market cap goes up as well.\n\nCrypto is Small\nThe market cap of steem being $903,772,962 is not really a lot of money considering that the US alone gave $390.05 billion dollars to Charity in 2016 according to Charity Navigator\n\nCrypto has a lot of growth potential. We are in this game early. This is also why some say that the whole project could still get scrapped - there really is not that much wealth in crypto if you compare it to the wealth available everywhere else.\n\nHODL\nHold on for dear life. And also, it does not matter what your coin is worth today, it matter what your coin is worth when you are ready to cash it out.\n\nIts nice to look at my steem wallet and see me creeping towards thousandaire status, but I also realize that the value of it can change drastically within days.\n\nWhat is a blockchain\nInformation is stored together in blocks, kind of like a rubics cube. The block is put together in such a way that if you try to change one bit of information on it, the whole puzzle gets thrown off. Once a block is put together, it is attached to the blocks that came before it.\n\nThis means that once a block is set, changing information becomes a nearly impossible task. Blockchain technology is simply the way information is stored.\n\nAlt coins are NOT like small companies\nBut this is still a really good analogy anyway. Each coin has its own system and set of rules. By being a holder of the coin, you are a supporter, user, and part of the coin.\n\nPasswords Are Important\nAs high tech as the systems are, they still need wallet addresses and passwords to make them work. We can't use our fingerprints or iris scans to access our money just yet - we still have to rely on passwords.\n\nDon't lose them!\n\nI have learned so much while reading blogs on steemit that it makes the income I earned on Steemit that much more valuable to me. I have been a part of a steep learning curve and would love to share my knowledge. It seems to be centered around bringing new users on board.\nThey will streamline the signup and allow us to invite other users. Here comes grandma.\n\nSpeculation:\nCould hard for 20 be when we see communities? That would be cool, but I haven't heard a timeline yet.\nCommunities would be like Reddit subreddits. Imagine how that would work on Steemit.\n\nPart 3:\nLets go into the future.\n1st We need to understand Ned's vision.\nCrypto as a human algorithm to sort the best content to the top. That is the goal.\n\nCurrently we use a stake weighted voting system. People who have more tokens have a higher vote. This was supposed to benefit the best content.\n\nDoes the current stake weighted voting bring the best content to the top?\nHere's a quote from Ned,\n\"With Steem we didn't quit find that was the case. To truly realize a future where cryptocurrency helps us identify great infromation we need to leverage not \"stake-weighted\" voting, but \"account-based\" voting. 1 person, 1 vote.
