| body | Hello steemians; So i am participating in this contest and i will be sharing step by step pattern of how i sew this skirt right here pictured below So the tools i used to carry out this project are: - Sewing machine - Chalk - Scissors - Measuring tape - Iron - ruler So before i got to this point, i first started with placing my my fabric on a plain, cleared and clean surface like a table, but i mine was on the floor because my table isn't big enough to contain the fabric, so i normally do my cutting on the floor making sure the place I'm using is cleared and clean before use. So i placed the fabric on the floor and then started taking measurements of cutting by marking them on the fabric and then cut according to the person's measurements and markings i did. After cutting the back and front, i then used the front and back material i cut, placed them on a lining fabric and cut the lining the exact size and shape as the main fabric. [26464.jpg(https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmUwqrexH5XQgJ9eMT7TpjexMKmN3FT38jFoUqsXvnxLfL/26464.jpg) After cutting, i started sewing the lining to the main fabric . So now the reason i put lining in the cloth was; - to provide thickness the cloth. - to use the lining and turn the main fabric by the edge. - to save stress and time of weaving the clothe. - To avoid the removal of ropes in the inside giving it a proper finishing from the inside. After turning the main fabric with lining it, it looked like this. As seen in the picture after turning it, i gave it a proper iron for the fabric to relax and be straight If not it would and been squeezed. - as seen in the pictures the front pieces isn't the same with the back. The first picture is the front while the second is the back, i didn't cut both sides equal to bring out the beauty and style. After that, i then joined the sides i.e joining the front and back together from the sides i.e from the waist down but i marked out the measurements from the sides Like; - i marked the size of her waist from the measurements i took - i marked the size of her hips too And then join the marking together i.e the waist and the hips and got my curved shape. Then i formed a waist band for the waist of the clothe and then sew it round the waist rejoin after sewing one part of the sides. I then joined the other side half way from down to half way stoped around the hips region. Now the reason i did this was because i wanted to put zip by the side instead of the back. The reasons for print zips in skirts are: - to enable the person wear her skirt freely - to provide perfect shaping, fitting and curving as a lady. After that, i gave it proper ironing. | body | Hello steemians; So i am participating in this contest and i will be sharing step by step pattern of how i sew this skirt right here pictured below So the tools i used to carry out this project are: - Sewing machine - Chalk - Scissors - Measuring tape - Iron - ruler So before i got to this point, i first started with placing my my fabric on a plain, cleared and clean surface like a table, but i mine was on the floor because my table isn't big enough to contain the fabric, so i normally do my cutting on the floor making sure the place I'm using is cleared and clean before use. And that's how i got to finish my customers skirt. Hope you like my concept. @steemkidss I invite @sampson01, @us-andrew and @emma-uttermost to take part in this contest if they haven't Thank you guys👐. |

It is wise you go fit the sweet ones, because you don't enjoy the slappy ones. So my second best fruit is banana with a botanical _Musa spp._ (different species like _Musa acuminata_, _Musa balbisiana_). Bananas are awesome! They're like nature's candy – sweet, convenient, and nutritious. Nigeria's got loads of banana varieties too. | body | Hello steamians ; I want to share with us the different meals i cooks and ate last week and some highlights on them. So this first picture is melon(egusi) soup, actually an igbo native soup. Melon soup! A classic Nigerian dish. It's a delicious soup made from melon seeds (egusi), leafy greens (like spinach or bitter leaf), and often with meat or fish. Some key things about melon soup: - *Ingredients*: Melon seeds, leafy greens, meat/fish, spices, palm oil - *Taste*: Rich, slightly nutty, savory - *Serving*: Often eaten with fufu, pounded yam, or rice Here's a simple melon soup recipe: - *Ingredients*: - 1 cup melon seeds (egusi), ground - Meat or fish (beef, chicken, or fish) - Leafy greens (spinach, bitter leaf, etc.) - Palm oil - Onions, peppers, spices - *Steps*: 1. Blend melon seeds with onions, peppers. 2. Cook meat/fish with spices. 3. Add blended melon mix, cook till thick. 4. Add leafy greens, palm oil. Melon soup is typically eaten with starchy sides like: - *Fufu* (cassava or yam) - *Pounded yam* - *Rice* - *Semo* (semolina) You usually: - Scoop some fufu or other side - Dip into the soup - Enjoy This second picture is noddles (indomie) and fried egg. Indomie and fried egg - a popular combo! It's a quick, tasty meal with: - *Indomie*: Instant noodles, often spicy - *Fried egg*: Sunny-side up or scrambled Some people add: - Veggies (peas, carrots) - Sausages or meat - Spices or sauces Add some extras! - *Veggies*: Throw in some chopped spinach or carrots - *Protein*: Add sardines or cooked sausage - *Flavor boost*: Spruce it up with some fresh peppers or a dash of seasoning Indomie and fried egg combo gives you: - *Carbs*: Energy from Indomie - *Protein*: From egg, maybe meat/sausages - *Vitamins*: From egg, veggies if added - *Fats*: From frying oil, egg But it's processed, so balance with other nutrients. Let me share some tips if you want to make your idomie healthier Here are some tips: - *Add more veggies*: Spinach, carrots, bell peppers - *Use less seasoning*: Go easy on the packet spice - *Choose healthier protein*: Grilled chicken or tofu - *Bake instead of fry*: Try baked eggs or veggies - *Whole wheat Indomie*: Switch to whole grain - *More fiber*: Add beans or lentils - *Less oil*: Use less for frying or air fry - *Herbs and spices*: Flavor without extra salt This third picture is palm oil rice, this one is very easy to prepare and it saves time and expenses, no too much money required to prepare it. Palm oil rice is a Nigerian favorite made with: - Palm oil - Rice - Spices - Sometimes veggies or meat Some call it *Banga rice* or *Palm oil jollof*. It's flavorful and aromatic. I didn't really make my own palm oil rice a quality meal because of the expenses, but i will share incase you want to make your own quality Here's a simple palm oil rice recipe: - *Ingredients*: - 2 cups rice - 1/4 cup palm oil - Onions, peppers, spices - Meat or fish (optional), optional because i didn't put in mine because of expenses. - *Steps*: 1. Sauté onions, peppers in palm oil 2. Add rice, spices, water 3. Cook till rice is done In order to make your palm oil rice very delicious to take: - *Use fresh palm oil*: Gives better flavor and color - *Add protein*: Fish or meat makes it heartier - *Spice it up*: Try adding ginger or garlic This last picture is my okro soup. Okro soup! 🍲 It's a Nigerian classic made with: - Okra (fresh or frozen) - Meat or fish - Spices - Sometimes leafy greens It's slimy, savory, and delicious. Here's a simple okro soup recipe: - *Ingredients*: - Fresh/frozen okra - Meat or fish - Onions, peppers, spices - Stock or water - *Steps*: 1. Cook meat/fish with spices 2. Add chopped okra, simmer till tender tips on reducing sliminess or adding flavor; - *Reduce sliminess*: Add a squeeze of lemon or vinegar - *Boost flavor*: Use smoked fish or crayfish - *Thickening trick*: Mash some okra before adding You can combine your okro soup with garri(eba) as seen in the picture, fufu or rice? Trust me when i say okro soup is very nutritious and healthy to consume. So those are some of the food that i ate last week and wanted to share with us. Thank you. I invite @emma-uttermost, @us-andrew and sampson01 to share their meals as well. |

| body | Hello steamians; I want to share with us my favourite fruits and their benefits. So this is called star apple as common name, but the botanical name for it is Chrysophyllum albidum. Chrysophyllum albidum_ is native to West Africa, including Nigeria. It's valued for its fruit, timber, and medicinal properties. It's a tropical fruit with: - Sweet, juicy pulp - Milky latex (sap) in the skin - Medicinal uses too Star apple's advantages: - *Rich in vitamins*: Boosts immunity - *Antioxidant properties*: Helps fight diseases - *Digestive aid*: Good for gut health Star apple can be used to produce: - *Fresh juice*: Sweet and refreshing - *Jams and jellies*: Great for breakfast treats - *Wine*: Fermented star apple drinks Star apple can be eaten: - *Raw*: Scoop out the pulp and eat - *Juice*: Blend into a refreshing drink - *Desserts*: Add to salads, smoothies, or cakes How to eat: get the good and sweet star apple, wash it thoroughly with clean water, use ur incisors (front teeth) and bit out the up part that looks like a root, remove it and the start squeezing the nutrients into your mouth. Bananas are: - *Nutrient-rich*: Potassium, vitamins, fiber - *Versatile*: Eat raw, make a very good and nutritious combo with groundnuts, which is the way i really love taking mine fry, boil, bake - *Nigerian staple*: Plantains in porridge, chips, or aske Banana can be used for so many things Like: - *Banana bread* - *Fritters* (ake or banana balls) - *Smoothies* - *Chips* (fried or baked) - *Porridge* (with plantain) Bananas are packed with: - *Potassium* - Vitamin C - Vitamin B6 - Fiber Good for energy and digestion. How to eat: get the ripe banana from a store, market or any source gotten from, wash thoroughly with clean water, then use your index, middle and thumb fingers to take off the pills, then eat. My last is orange with botanical name as _Citrus sinensis_ Oranges! Sweet, juicy, and packed with vitamin C . Nigeria grows some tasty ones too. Oranges are: - *Vitamin C powerhouse* - Good for immunity and skin - Eaten fresh, juiced, or in salads - Nigeria's got varieties like Valencia, Navel Oranges are rich in: - *Vitamin C* - Fiber - Potassium - Folate Boosts immunity and digestion. Oranges can be used to produce: - *Juice* - Marmalade - Candied peel - Essential oils (from peel) How to eat orange fruit: Just get the ripe orange, wash it thoroughly with clean water, pill with your knife, the use your hand to take off the second pills, then you can cutting with your hand and taking it one after the other Or After using knife to pill the first, you can slice it in two and squeeze the water into your mouth. | body | Hello steamians ; I want to share with us the different meals i cooks and ate last week and some highlights on them.
