If I have only a few things I have to organize my lifestyle. Organize myself thatI can use the things when I need them. That they are not in the washing machine (like the one and only pair of socks) or I still have to call all my friends if I can borrow something (like a drill machine). The balancing act is to find out if I want to invest in what to organize, me or my belongings. There is an individual balance for the amount of every object. And this individual balance will change. To accept that gave me a lot of freedom. The freedom that I only have to\ndecide for what is feeling right, right now. A few years ago I decided to have only one bedding and one a 3-in-1 bedding. It worked for me. When I washed it, I always washed it in the morning, that I could use it at the next night and there\nist the possibility to divide my bedding if there is a guest. But there was no bedding, so I gave them my bedding and slept in my sleeping bag. It didn‘t feel comfortable. So I bought a second bedding. The balance changed.       "body": "Imagine I would ask you to bring your own spoon. How many pairs of socks do I need? My brother asked me how many socks I own. A year ago I could not answer his question. So I decided to reduce my socks. I threw away all the broken and old ones, which were surprisingly many. Followed by the decision for the ten pairs of socks I really like. I thought about it and I was able to define the number. I decided how many I want to have and found out with which number I am most comfortable with. I found the balance between organizing myself and organize my belongings. My brother told me about his experiment. He bought one pair of those incredibly expensive socks, of the company which replaces the worn out once. It worked for him to wash his one and only pair of socks every day before he went to bed. To be honest, I’m too lazy. If I do my laundry including most of my socks once a week. Now he has three pairs of socks. And pointed out that if you have one generator and that one breaks you have a problem (do you? depends on where you are? I thought), if you have two you have one backup, but for the possibility that this one also breaks you need the third one. But is it the same for socks. No, there is no backup for a backup because he is using all three pairs. But socks are something I don’t share but typically a military generator is for more than one person. So what is with our private sharing objects. Like spoons. I know I don’t share my spoon.Because there is no spoon anymore with my name or favorite animal character on it. But there are spoons I own. How many I ask myself? I’m happy with one long small spoon, one small spoon, one soup spoon, maybe another one for whatever and a cooking spoon. No extra spoon for ice cream or to look like and adult when I drink an espresso. But there was a fault in my calculation.\n\nThe unexpected guests! Should I do it like WMF is telling me to buy a set of 60 pieces. But how often am I hosting eleven guests? I don’t know, maybe when I celebrate with a lot of friends and eat a dinner together. But last time I did this is years ago. But if I imagine me in 15 years I still don’t think I have ten guests every week. Even the patchwork family with three kids will not visit me every single week. Okay, let’s say they would. They would visit me every two weeks because we enjoy cooking together. Is it then unfriendly or unadult to ask them to bring their own spoons?",

Sometimes the mind feels like when our parents asked us if there was a bomb in our room and told us we should tidy up. Sometimes our mind feels completely tidied up. Why not a home. And what is a home? Is a home defined by four or more walls? Or is it a place where I feel safe and I am surrounded by people and things that let me be myself. THINGS?! Is it necessary to have things to define me? And if I decide to have things. How many do I need? I already read Marie Kondo. And touching all my things and asked myself does it spark joy? I moved with little things to the Netherlands and I still had the feeling of having too many things. Too many things I did not need. Not enough overview and structure over the things I have. Things I care about, I storage, I maintain, I use. Even that everything is packed in white boxes with labels what is inside, it is still not enough of the feeling to be organized. But where is the problem then? It is not only about the number of things. It‘s about their organization. \n\nIf I have twenty pairs of socks. I have to structure them to have an overview. I need one of this dividers in my wardrobe. That every pair has its place. Because every thing should have a place. But If I onlyhave one pair of socks – Like my brother tried out for a few months – I have to be super organized, because I would have to wash my one pair of socks every night. So it is about the decision if I want to organize my things or myself with for the things. I thought about the things that came to my mind first (forks, bedsheets, pens and dresses), there is a lot of plurals but it was different for every object.\nI don‘t know about my needs now and not in 15 years. Should I? \n\nThere was this big PAX wardrobe of the Swedish blue-yellow-salesman in my head. When I was a teenager my parents decided that I should buy one. But there is not only the PAX, there are a hundred, a thousand different ones – I never count. You can decide (or your pocket decides). The framesize, how high, how deep, if you want to hang things or put them in boxes, the doors... Nearly everything. You should think about your needs and then decide what you need. It was impossible at that age. But now?! Two years ago I was at that shop with my roommate and she asked one of the salesman, she asked him for help to find out what she needs. Which PAX she should buy, how her PAX should look like. It was impossible for her to decide for the right one. It was a luck even with the knowledge that we can go there again and buy one more drawer. It was annoying to build something together at our flat that does not spark joy. \n\nI reduced my clothes half a year ago, two thirds went to the donation station, I sold or gave away and one third left in my wandrope. it still felt too much and I never had a lot of clothes but I still have seven dresses. Too many! But how to do it with all the other things?. I want to be an expert on my today‘s needs. No matter if I will live in a van, a tiny house or a temporary flat. I want to say I have all I need and no more than that. I want to feel comfortable with things.",

      "body": "I‘m not a hipster but riding hipsterish through the city on my bike. Not the new Berlin but the city next to that one. A daily slalom between broken glass on gravel roads and the daily intent to use the street with traffic lights, potholes, and cobblestone the next day. A city neither made for cars or bikes. When there is no security of a net or rope which will hold you when you fall. But there will be cool deep water. And you will feel weak but awake. There will be friends with a boat or any help. That's the chosen family you have. They are always changing. Some are coming some are going. They grow with me and pass by. Go together with me for a while or even longer. Time is my friend. A friend I trust. Life isn’t easy but time makes that things can change.",
