Salah satu kemampuan menarik yang dimiliki oleh berang-berang adalah teknik mereka dalam menangkap ikan. Teknik berburu ikan ini sangat efisien dan menunjukkan kecerdikan berang-berang dalam mencari makanan. Berang-berang memiliki alat penangkap ikan alami yang sangat baik, yaitu kaki mereka yang berselaput. Kaki berselaput memungkinkan mereka bergerak cepat dan gesit di dalam air. Selain itu, berang-berang juga dilengkapi dengan gigi tajam yang memudahkan mereka untuk menggigit ikan atau makanan lainnya. Mereka umumnya berburu di siang hari, tetapi beberapa jenis berang-berang juga berburu pada malam hari, tergantung pada ketersediaan makanan. Salah satu teknik berburu berang-berang adalah dengan menggerakkan tubuh mereka secara berkeliling di dalam air, mencari ikan yang bergerak. Begitu berang-berang menemukan ikan, mereka akan mengejarnya dengan cepat. Ketika ikan sudah berada dalam jarak yang cukup dekat, berang-berang akan menggunakan kaki dan ekornya untuk menangkap ikan tersebut. Setelah itu, berang-berang akan membawa ikan ke permukaan atau ke tempat yang aman untuk dimakan. Berang-berang juga dikenal memiliki kebiasaan menyimpan makanan untuk cadangan. Mereka sering membawa ikan ke tempat yang aman, seperti di bawah batu atau di atas pohon, untuk dimakan di kemudian hari.
