I'm not a professional writer but i feel on this one topic that  i can give a little back to the community based on my lengthy experience in the field.\n\nSo we have all heard it right? The bookmaker or casino always wins! Now how can this be? \n\nWell its called \"house edge\" and it works in all different ways depending on what you are betting on.\n\nFor instance Slot Machines have a payout mechanism built into them ranging from 82% to 98% this ensures that the casino will always win over the long term no matter how much skill the players combined have.\n\nThe same is not true for Fixeds Odds Betting Terminals though where the results are not built into the system & there is a randomness about it. An example of where the casino gets its edge from regarding this type of gambling is by offering odds of 35/1 on a number in roulette when there is 37 numbers on the board it may not appear much but over a vast amount of spins it really adds up.\n\nHowever with Sports Betting or Gambling in general it's a little different as there's no long term built in mechanical or computer mechanism to ensure profit. \n\nSo what do they do? Well when they offer the odds there is something called the \"book percentage\" without getting too complicated this represents how competive the odds are for instance the odds of flipping a coin and it landing on either side are 50/50 but a bookmaker would never be able to offer the TRUE odds of evens you would likely get 10/11 on each outcome which ensures an approx a 9% edge for the house regardless of your selection, this is done with sports betting too when participants who can barely be seperated by a cigarette paper are paired together im sure some of you have seen it.\n\nThis was just a brief overview of how the odds are always stacked against the PUNTER. \n\nNow to the good bit! How can us as the small guy or woman get a little bit value back from an industry that rakes in billions? \n\nOnline\n\n1. Use sites that offer attractive deposit bonuses for new or existing customers depending on which side you are on. \n2. Use sites that compare odds from all different bookmakers & casinos make sure you are always getting the best odds for your hard earned money.\n3. Check to see if your friends are already registered there might be a refer your friend promotion where you both can benefit.\n\nCasinos\n\n1. Check to see if there is any promotions regarding food often even for a small bet of $10 in many casinos you will get a free hot dog or burger.\n2. Play games with the smallest house edge this should help your betting balance if your not sure which games these are just ask the floorman or dealer.\n3. Staking plan can also apply to online section above split your bankroll into pieces so say if you have $100 you have 100 pieces limit yourself to 1 to 2 pieces per bet giving your bankroll a bare minimum of 50 bets even if you lost 50 in a row.\n\nUnforunately it's unlikely you will get rich from this but it will improve your chances overall especially for those new to the industry who might not have been aware of some of the stuff posted.\n\nIf you enjoyed this please keep an eye out as i'm planning on doing a piece on gambling addiction and methods to cut down losses by placing small accumulators spread over time instead of bigger bets which can be really harmful long term for those who dont just gamble recreationally.\n\nPeace Out",
