| title | The Real Cost of Failed Payments |
| body | Today, payment failure is the leading cause of involuntary churn upon businesses. In most cases, or 53% of the time, consumers face card rejection due to insufficient funds. Second most, with a 42% commonality, consumers run into card declines when trying to make a purchase larger than their limit allows for. Third most commonly, yet still frequent enough to be accounted for, consumers can experience payment failure as a result of any credit card changes. For example, an outdated CVV number, zip code, or numerical card number. Resulting from this, businesses begin to lose out. In America, customer churn leaves a $136 billion bill across all businesses. Of all these instances, 34% are due to involuntary churn and failed payments. On the other hand, businesses that rely on auto-renewal subscriptions for revenue lie in a more vulnerable position. What can businesses do to reduce failed payment expenses? Find out in the infographic below. Infographic Source: https://www.gravysolutions.io/how-legendary-companies-make-money |

| title | A History of Industrial Revolutions |
| body | The Fourth Industrial Revolution is underway, making it the perfect time to take a look at the history of industrial revolutions. From 1760-1830, the world experienced its first Industrial Revolution - also known as Industry 1.0. During this time, machines and tools began replacing human and animal labor. Furthermore, Industry 1.0 introduced machines driven by steam and internal combustion engines. 40 years later, the world experienced its second Industrial Revolution - changing the way of life until 1914. Industry 2.0 primarily focused on improving mass production. In this period, many began using assembly lines to increase efficiency and productivity, and shipping was made easier by the use of telegraph lines and railways. Additionally, Industry 2.0 birthed many new materials still used today - such as stainless steel and plastics. From 1950-2002, the world underwent digitalization as a result of the Third Industrial Revolution. What did that look like? A rise in telecommunications, computers, and nuclear power, as well as widespread factory automation using robotics and PLCs. Electronics and IT were also integrated into manufacturing procedures. Since 2011, we have been under The Fourth Industrial Revolution, and it has a lot to offer. To find out what you can expect from Industry 4.0, check out the infographic below: Infographic Source: www.partsolutions.com/industry-4-0 |

| body | Why is Amazon the king of supplements? Amazon’s business model is based on owning as little inventory and real estate as possible and instead leveraging partnerships with third-party vendors to create a massive marketplace that operates with speed and efficiency on razor-thin margins. Unfortunately sometimes this translates to third-party sellers who exploit the system to make a buck. While Amazon sells 77% of supplements sold online, 82% of bodybuilding supplements, 69% of CBD products, and half of herbal supplements and vitamins are mislabeled, sometimes dangerously so. In order to protect yourself from unsafe supplements, it’s important to pay attention to who you are buying them from. Just because you are buying them ON Amazon doesn’t mean you are buying them FROM Amazon. Vet your sellers and look for real reviews and third-party scientific analysis of whatever supplements you are buying. Learn more about fake supplements on Amazon below. | body | Are cork masks the future of reusable personal protective equipment? Disposable PPE is littering the planet and its waterways while clogging landfills with unnecessary plastic waste. Cotton masks are great, but unless they are made from reclaimed fabric from clothing or sheets they still pose an unnecessary environmental impact. The most sustainable textile out there is cork, and cork offers additional environmental benefits. Cork is a sustainable material that increases biodiversity in the world’s forests. When cork bark is harvested, the trees absorb five times the amount of carbon dioxide, making it an excellent carbon sink. When cork is no longer needed it is both biodegradable and recyclable. Cork is naturally antimicrobial as well as hypoallergenic, so it’s an ideal material to use for face masks. It’s washable, vegan, and PETA-approved. It’s naturally buoyant and lightweight. Cork face masks are lined with nonwoven fabric, making them effective at stopping respiratory droplets. Learn more about cork masks below. Infographic source: https://www.corkmasks.com/ |

| title | Too Much Screen Time? |
| body | COVID-19 has caused millions of students to be sent home and has made kids spend much more time on screens and other devices. 66% of children since the beginning of the pandemic are spending more time watching screens. 60% spend more than 3 hours per day on a device, nearly half spend more than 6 hours online every day, and 30% are online without supervision for more than 4 hours per day. This sudden influx of hours per day spent on devices has parents worried. However, even though there are some negative effects of screens, they are still essential during the COVID-19 pandemic and can even have many positive effects. Devices can help kids connect to similar-minded peers, help them find a wider array of interests or hobbies, and can help them stay connected to family and friends. | title | The Future Of Security Authentication? |
| body | Are you still using a password to log in to your accounts online? It turns out that may not be the best move security-wise. Passwords were invented to meter time on a shared server, not to protect the information on the shared server. Therefore passwords were never meant to be secure because they rely on shared secrets, and even multi factor authentication is just multiple shared secrets, so that’s not much better. So how can we authenticate users in a better, more secure way? Asymmetric cryptography is the authentication method of the future that is available now. This technology relies on security certificates on your device and determines that you are who you say you are based on your device’s security posture, location, IP address, and more. This type of security protocol is better than other methods because it’s both secure and easy for the user to employ. Learn more about different types of security authentication methods from the infographic below. Infographic source: https://www.beyondidentity.com/blog/authentication-method-guide |

Consequently, Google's Best Practices say that your website should load in 3 seconds or under. Knowing this, the key factors contributing to speed are: - Bad Plugins - WordPress Configuration - External Scripts - Web Hosting - Page Size The best way to achieve these speeds are to choose a WordPress host that covers your website's basics, as well as offers a few benefits. When looking for a WordPress host, consider a service offering pre-installed WordPress, automatic nightly updates, technical support and monitoring, and even hardware repair and maintenance. After finding the best website host for you, test its performance across trusted platforms such as IsItWP, Pingdom, Google PageSpeed Insights, and Time To First Byte. Additionally, you can take a hosting quiz on WPBeginner to help navigate your hosting search. Websites are the new real estate. How effective is your WordPress host? | title | Unleashing The Power Of Mobile Communications |
| body | Would it surprise you to learn that one in three customers who send text messages to a business never get a reply? The main reason for this is that businesses just haven’t enacted two-way messaging capabilities. So when a customer gets an SMS message about a sale any chance for them to ask questions is lost. This tells a customer one major thing - that a business doesn’t really care about their preferences. Customers are short on time and want answers quick, and they want them in a way that is the least obtrusive possible. 65% of customers said they felt more positive toward a company after a text message interaction. This is likely because it shows a business cares about their preferences, which makes it both more likely they will choose that business again and that they will recommend it to their friends and family. Learn more about why customers want to be able to send and receive SMS messages from your business from the infographic below. | title | Post-Covid Cybersecurity Concerns |
| body | If there’s one thing we have learned from the pandemic it’s that we weren’t prepared for a pandemic. And not just medically, either - business was completely unprepared for a sudden shift in the way business is done and individuals were completely unprepared for the shift in their daily and family lives. More than anything we were unprepared for the cybersecurity challenges of a sudden mass migration to working from home, as has been shown time and time again in Zoom bombings, phishing attempts, and more. It’s time to take the hint from the pandemic and start to prepare for a probable cyber pandemic in the future, which could wipe out everything from retail to logistics and could cost $50 billion per day and last for weeks or even months. Phishing has increased 600% since February because hackers know that we are unprepared and stretched too thin. It’s time to start preparing for a world in which a cyber pandemic is a real possibility. Learn more about post-covid cybersecurity from the infographic below. | body | Virtual reality and experiences of the like are continually becoming more and more popular. Already Americans between 18-24 have surpassed previous generations by 70% in spending more time at home. This time at home as also increased due to COVID-19 and because of this it has become even more important to participate in physical activities without having to leave the house. Extended reality (XR) which combines immersive technologies such as Augmented Reality (AR), Mixed Reality (MR), and Virtual Reality (VR) is helping to create in-home experiences that mirror the real world. XR technology uses lightweight head mounts and real sports gear to create a realistic experience for the user while also monitoring and recording body and equipment movement. The AI component uses high-speed cameras, sensors, and computer vision to measure actions and mimic the real world via realism within programmed outcomes. This is just the beginning of how the future of virtual sports is set to expand. Are you ready? Infographic Source: https://www.sportstacular.co/infographic |

| title | Will Tech Help The Economic Recovery? |
| body | COVID-19 has hit the companies around the world hard, making some close their doors and sending millions out of work, bringing the economy to a screeching halt as unemployment has shot up to records not seen in nearly a century. In April of 2020, the U.S. unemployment rate reached an astonishing 14.7%, the highest ever seen since 1939 and some states are seeing unemployment rates of 25% or higher. On June 8, 2020, the National Bureau of Economic Research officially announced that the U.S. had entered a recession. This major economic shift is shaping the economy for the future as one of the ways many are coping with this significant job loss is with remote work. In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, as many as 2 in 3 working Americans are now working remotely. Learn more about the tech demand caused by remote work and what tech innovations will help the post-pandemic economy here. | title | How The Loneliness Epidemic Costs Us BIG |
| body | There is a hidden epidemic happening during COVID-19, and it started long before the novel coronavirus ever became a threat. Loneliness decreases lifespan by 20 years on average, which is more than alcoholism or obesity. What’s more, loneliness leads to decreases in health that necessitate more medical resources. The elderly and disabled have been hit especially hard by the COVID-19 pandemic, but the loneliness they are experiencing right now is going to leave an even greater impact than most people realize. Adult daycare is one of the tools used to fight back against the loneliness epidemic. 18% of suicide deaths are among seniors, and 77% of Americans say they lack a supportive network. Adult daycare helps to combat loneliness by giving seniors and those with disabilities a place to go to socialize and have their health monitored, all while costing almost $60,000 less a year than a nursing home. During the pandemic, adult daycare is having to adapt to solve the medical and social needs of vulnerable patients. This is a crucial service during these difficult times that is often forgotten about. Learn more about adult daycare during COVID-19 from the infographic below. | body | Sleep is important. It gives our bodies a chance to rest and repair, and aside from feeling bad when you don’t get enough, you are actually doing damage to your body when you miss out on sleep. When you are sleeping your body is hard at work fighting off infections and repairing damaged tissues. If you don’t take enough time to let your body do that, it takes longer to heal. During a pandemic is the last time you want your body behind on its self-healing abilities. If you are struggling to sleep, take stock of your sleep habits. Make sure you are going to bed and waking at the same time daily. Make sure your room is cool, dark, and devoid of noise, and use room darkening shades, fans, or a white noise machine when needed. Taking care of yourself is priority number one right now. Learn more about sleep and immunity from the infographic below. Infographic source: https://www.onlinemattressreview.com/power-of-sleep/ |

| title | Finding Remote Work |
| body | Remote work during the COVID-19 pandemic is one of the few types of businesses to flourish as traditional workplaces are no longer available to use. This has caused nearly half of the total American workforce to start working from their homes, and some experts project that by 2025, over 70% of workers could be working from home at least 5 days per month. One of the reasons that remote work has become so popular is that it helps both employers and employees in significant ways. Remote work saves employees precious time and money that would otherwise be spent on commute times, gas costs, vehicle maintenance, dry cleaning and laundering, and more. These costs can add up to an astounding $4,000 per year and even working remotely only 2 or 3 days a week can still save up to $2,000 per year. | title | Can You Fix Muscle Pain? |
| body | Muscle pain in the workplace is a major problem for many that can cause all sorts of issues. In 2018, many American adults were affected by musculo-skeletal disorder - 64 million adults said that their condition impacted their daily lives. Just back pain alone leads to the loss of over 264 million lost workdays each year, averaging over 10 days of work lost per person each year. Our muscles can be hurt from a number of different everyday activities that slowly wear away at muscles until pain starts to occur. Accidents and injuries, even after the initial trauma, may injure muscles causing pain and weakness. Repetitive activities like typing or repeated heavy lifting can lead to muscle tightness and pain - most oftenly affecting the back, wrists, and hands. Constant stress from doing something as simple as sitting at a desk can lead to muscle tightness and biomechanical instability. Learn more about the possible solutions to treating and preventing muscle pain here. Infographic Source: https://info.muscleactivation.com/muscle-pain-what-causes-it-and-how-to-fix-it |

Lifelong learning can also help you adapt to sudden and drastic changes in your life, such as losing a job, changes in work duties, and advancements in technology. Lifelong learning can also improve your memory, help to fine-tune your emotional intelligence, and increase your language skills. The feeling of accomplishment can also come from learning new things. Learning how things work can also make you see things in a new light, giving you the ability to look beyond what you already know and the more you learn, the better an understanding you will have on how the world works.\n\nLearn more about the science behind accomplishments and how to learn any skill fast here.\nInfographic Source: https://www.fastonlinemasters.com/learn-any-skill-fast/",

| body | Schools across the country have started to close down due to COVID-19 and for many high-school seniors have started to rethink going to college. COVID-19 has hit universities and colleges especially hard compared to many other businesses and schools. Congress, in March 2020, set aside over $325 million of COVID-19 relief money to go toward colleges with “severe unmet needs”. But the majority of these funds went to only 20 institutions, only benefiting less than 3,000 students. Economic uncertainty during COVID-19 is also throwing many colleges off base. The U.S. is projected to lose billions of dollars in potential business - at best, experts estimate a $77 billion loss, while at worst at $347 billion loss. This, combined with unemployment the highest it has been in a long time, can make college budgets quickly disappear. Learn more about the challenges for the class of 2020 and what the future of college could look like after COVID-19 here. Infographic source: https://collegecliffs.com/coronavirus/ |

| title | How To Overcome A Setback |
| body | When life is going well it is easier to get in a rhythm that allows for positive momentum to blossom but sometimes life happens and momentum is stopped. For some, this can be an easy excuse to quit but pressing forward is often the most successful reaction. Choosing to move forward from a setback often begins with acknowledging how or why it occurred in the first place as this helps you know how to move forward. Setbacks aren’t always a negative thing either in fact, they can often turn into positive lessons that motivate you further. Most importantly don’t let a setback stop you in your tracks, instead take the steps to keep going. You do not need to accomplish everything all at once and it’s okay if getting back on track takes some time but with small improvements, you can overtime make big accomplishments. Find out more about how to manage your momentum in the following infographic. Infographic source: https://www.mbacentral.org/managing-momentum/ |

| title | The Future Of Remote Health Services |
| body | COVID-19 has caused hospitals all over the country to become flooded with new patients - forcing out some of the long-term patients and making them look for a different way to get the attention that they require. Luckily, many patients are able to contact their doctors remotely and are able to receive the treatment they need without needing to be exposed to the virus and freeing up hospital space. In March 2020, The Cleveland Clinic logged over 60,000 telemedicine visits - over 18 times their monthly average. CareCix, which has 20 million users, saw a 50% rise in usage in March alone, Zipnosis reported a 3,600% increase in virtual visits over the course of just 11 days in February. All types of telemedicine tech are being used by many more people - video conferencing, data monitoring, and smartphone apps for telemedicine are all seeing much more traffic than normal. | body | The COVID-19 pandemic has caused many to become separated from their normal lives and it is starting to take a toll on many - 2 out of every 3 Americans have felt anxious, depressed, lonely, or hopeless at least once a week since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. One of the first signs of stress is panic buying. Over the course of only a few weeks, sales of hand sanitizer, toilet paper, baking yeast, facial tissue, and alcohol have gone up by hundreds of percent. Meat plants across the country have also had to close down due to outbreaks of COVID-19 among their workers. Consumers, in response to this, doubled typical meat purchase amounts and quickly emptying out restaurants and grocery stores alike. Learn more about how COVID-19 and isolation are affecting people’s mental health and how to avoid isolation under quarantine here. | body | COVID-19 has forced businesses across the country to close their doors - one of the hardest hit areas is in schools sending millions of students home. Worldwide, at least 90% of all students now stuck at home die to COVID-19. This sudden change to remote education is putting stress on the educators, the students, and the parents. Nearly 9 out of every 10 parents are concerned that this switch could cause their child to fall behind academically and more than 8 in 10 parents are now struggling to keep their child engaged in their learning. Parents aren’t alone in feeling worry - 76% of students and 66% of teachers say that they feel that they are in lower spirits than before the pandemic. The overwhelming majority of educators are also worried that their students will fall behind in key subjects such as math, english, and science. | title | Are We Getting Past Passwords? |
| body | Having a strong password to protect your sensitive information, such as bank information, personal pictures, and information about your business, is very important to keep such things safe from those who want to exploit it. But even though the average business user has 191 passwords, 81% of confirmed data breaches were due to weak, stolen, or reused passwords. Looking back on the birth of passwords could give us a clue on where they may be headed and how to best protect ourselves. The first password was created in MIT’s Compatible Time-Sharing System, or CTSS, which used separate consoles to access a shared mainframe, and making a login with passcode necessary to access specific files. But just 2 years later, the first password theft occurred when a Ph.D. candidate printed out the system’s password file and signed in as another user to get more time on the CTSS. Learn more about the progression of passwords and password theft here. Infographic source: https://beyondidentity.com/blog/history-and-future-passwords |

| body | COVID-19 has caused thousands of businesses across the country to close their doors and send millions home. In the 6 weeks ending April 30, 2020, 30 million Americans filed an initial unemployment claim - that is 18% of the total American workforce. In order to cushion those who are laid off or put on furlough, the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act, or CARES, was passed and gives a broad range of relief and stimulus programs $2.2 trillion for individuals and businesses. During the COVID-19 pandemic, more people have been included in unemployment benefits. Nontraditional workers such as freelancers, gig workers, and self-employed workers are able to receive benefits of unemployment, so have those who quit due to reasons relating to COVID-19, and recent hires who were supposed to start work but weren’t able to. | body | Remote workers have a lot on their plates right now. Many of them have had to transition from years of going into an office to working remotely from home virtually overnight. This transition has taken place while they are fearing for their families’ safety amidst a global pandemic, the likes of which has not been seen in our lifetime. There’s just no need to pile mistrust and surveillance on top of everything right now as some companies are doing, and it turns out that trusting remote workers to get their jobs done can be highly beneficial to both workers and companies. Workers who feel trusted at work report greater overall satisfaction in their lives and are significantly less likely to burn out. What’s more, those who feel trusted at work report 106% greater energy for work tasks. People want to accomplish their goals, and giving them the latitude to do so can only help your company’s bottom line. Learn more about the psychology of trusting remote workers from the infographic below. Infographic source: https://www.online-psychology-degrees.org/psychology-trusting-remote-workers/ |

| title | Unpacking the $1.1 Billion Conference Cancellation Loss |
| body | The Covid-19 pandemic canceled conferences all over the world and losses for those attending as well as vendors that support conferences skyrocketed. Annually business conferences typically generate $1 trillion in direct spending. This spending plays out in airfare, hotel stays dining, and transportation. When conferences were canceled major cities loss money. For example, SXSW in Austin, Texas lost $350 million in direct losses and Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain saw $480 million in direct losses as well. These stats also don’t account for profits that the company hosting the event would have made, the effect on local shops and attractions that would have made money off of attendees, and any business generated from the networking that is had at these events. This sudden change has caused one positive trend and that is the rise of local conferences. As people are more reluctant to pay for travel and other costs many are looking towards more local events or even virtual conferences. | body | Because of the pandemic there are a lot of medical needs going unmet. All resources are going to fight the pandemic and also to prevent people from contracting the virus in the first place. This is especially true in nursing homes where the people who are the most susceptible to the virus are also the most likely to catch it. Unfortunately these are often also the same people who require specialized treatments, including wound care, and are currently unable to access those services. Fortunately there have been breakthroughs in telehealth that allows it to be used for wound care. Wound care prevents complications like infections and amputations in populations where decreased immunity or problems like diabetes make wounds more difficult to treat. Telehealth wound care allows these patients to be treated by a specialist while also preventing vulnerable patients from being exposed to people from the outside world. There is a lot of bad information out there about immunity, however. Many people think if you drink a lot of orange juice or take a lot of extra vitamin-C you will be able to fight off most germs. Unfortunately your immune system just doesn’t work that way. What you need is a balanced diet, a healthy lifestyle including regular exercise, and enough sleep each night. That’s pretty much it. There’s no magic bullet for your immune system - just take care of your body and it will take care of you. Unfortunately not everyone has a well-functioning immune system, so social distancing and wearing masks is something we will have to keep doing for the foreseeable future. | title | Supporting Religious Communities During The Pandemic |
| body | We are living in unprecedented times. We have greater access to technology and medical science than any generation before us, but a virus is crippling us. We are not quite as strong as we thought we were, as it turns out. Our economy is struggling with massive unemployment, and the organizations that typically pick up the slack when people are in need are also struggling. Religious organizations are some of the strongest supporters of the community, and because of a lack of in-person services their coffers are running dry. How can religious communities continue to sustain those in need? Giving to charities and religious organizations is important all the time, but it’s especially crucial right now. People depend on the programs that religious communities fund in order to get medical care, food, job training, and more. Fortunately it is still possible to give to your religious communities through apps, which can keep these communities working to give back. Learn more about giving in a pandemic below. "body": "We are living in unprecedented times. How can religious communities continue to sustain those in need?\n\nGiving to charities and religious organizations is important all the time, but it’s especially crucial right now. People depend on the programs that religious communities fund in order to get medical care, food, job training, and more. Fortunately it is still possible to give to your religious communities through apps, which can keep these communities working to give back. Learn more about giving in a pandemic below.\nInfographic source: https://get.tithe.ly/church-giving-coronavirus-covid19\n\n",

| title | The Key To Stopping Phishing Attacks |
| body | In 2018 64% of businesses experienced a phishing attack and employees are still struggling to protect themselves against them. In fact 72% of employees reported that protecting themselves from phishing has become more difficult in the last four years. Over two thirds of consumers have received some form of a phishing email and one third have been compromised. These hacks resulted in compromised accounts, malware infections and loss of data. For a business it could mean a loss of almost $2 million per incident as well as decreased productivity, data loss and reputation damage. Adding to the difficulty to stop these attacks nearly half of all hackers aren’t just exploiting tech anymore but are rather now using techniques that exploit human nature. This looks like using spam emails that either creates a sense of urgency, mimics realistic personalized messages or preys upon fear with need-to-know information. As employees are being preyed on more and more they may also be a business's greatest asset to prevent them from occurring in the first place. Check out this infographic to find out how. | title | The Social Impact Of The Business Of Medicine |
| body | If you’ve been paying attention to the COVID-19 crisis, the underlying narrative is that we were woefully unprepared for this crisis in the United States. Reserves of medical supplies and equipment at the federal level were not there, and decades of squeezing the medical system meant that hospitals only had on hand what they thought they would need in the immediate interim. Has the pandemic exposed the biggest weakness in the business of how we run our healthcare system? For the last decade or so, alarm bells have been sounding about the unsustainable nature of our healthcare system. People who need life-saving treatments often can’t afford them. A one-time, short-term illness such as cancer leaves patients financially devastated, while chronic conditions prove to be financially unrelenting to patients and their families. The United States spends more than 18% of its GDP on healthcare, compared to 8.8% on average for other industrialized nations, and the outcomes are often worse. Learn more about the social impact of the business of healthcare below. Infographic source: https://www.socialworkdegreecenter.com/social-impact-business-medicine/ |
