      "body": "Playa Circle update!\n\nPlaya circles are the name I’ve given to some highly strange formations my 3 grown daughters and I stumbled upon while in a remote part of Nevada in late 2013.\nThey were 6 foot rings impressed into the surface of a dry flat lake, aka a playa.\nWith no footprints or tracks nearby it’s not easy to explain how they were formed by nature or by man without leaving any clues behind. Playa circles are a bona fide mystery that I let Steemit members know about it another post.\n\nNot too long ago I found an image of what was clearly a playa circle, on the internet. I tracked down the owner of the image and it turns out he’s a college geology teacher who found the lone circle on the same dry lake my daughters and I found the half dozen or so that we found. He was there on vacation about 14 months after we were there.\n\nSo I’m happy to report that there’s been a development in the playa circle mystery! Yay! \nGlad the confirmation is here now. It felt weird being the only person in the world (apparently) to have ever reported these formations before, but I figured there was no way that my daughters and I would be both the first + the last people to ever find them whatever they are. I just wasn’t sure how long it would take for a second report of them. I’m not complaining because it’s kinda cool having this mystery laid in my lap by God and I’ve lived through some similar events in life already so I guess I’m used to it.       "body": "First off, I need to state that I’m referring to bitcoin only, not all cryptos.\nLots of people jumped into bitcoin when it was high, and are now panicked because of the price crash.\nSo buy, sell, or hodl?\nMyself I’m holding. Here’s why – Because unless bitcoin gets hacked it logically should survive and still exist years from now.\nBut what if it goes to zero? Well, if it survives then how could it go to zero? I don’t think it’s possible.\nPrivate digital money is a new technology that a large segment of the public has proven they want.\nProven. Saying bitcoin has no value is about as smart as being around in 1985 and saying fax technology is worthless. It’s the technology, stupid. Not you, kind reader.\nIs there any good reason to think that public desire for financial privacy/freedom will change soon?\nThe short answer is, “No”.\nNow combine that public desire with bitcoin’s likely survival, and we’ve got a floor to work from.\nAdd bitcoin’s brand name recognition into the mix, and we’ve got a leader in a new arena WHERE PEOPLE'S HARD EARNED DOLLARS ARE AT STAKE. There are only so many risk takers in this world and since most of the public has only ever heard of bitcoin, it stands to reason that as more risk averse people get into private digital money the majority will put their trust in the proven brand name.  \n\nThe price is going to be crazy up + down for a while, years, but if the technology can’t be defeated then it is here to stay because people want it.\nSo do not panic. Instead, try to think in terms of time, not price.\nTell yourself that it doesn’t matter what the price is because you won’t allow yourself to sell before a certain date. Tell yourself it doesn’t matter what happens or what anyone else says, it’s insignificant to you because the time to decide what to do with your bitcoin holdings has not arrived yet. Your investment has not had time to mature so why worry about it?\n\nImo it’s a sound and rational approach to investing in a brand new asset class unlike anything the world has ever seen before. Far less stressful than day trading in the great unknown. To me, trading in + out of bitcoin trying to time the highs and lows, is like walking a tightrope in the dark.\nIt’s not a stock and will eventually burn those who treat it like a stock. They’ll end up with less bitcoin.\nBitcoin is a difficult concept to grasp, almost like another dimension, but one way to look at it is like owning real estate. Land.\nSounds crazy, eh? Owning a few lines of computer code is like owning land? But it is, in a way.\nThere’s only so much of it and they’re not making any more. And if bitcoin is going to be around the rest of your life then the permanence of land over bitcoin loses some of its advantage there too. \nThe stake you claim on the bitcoin blockchain is even leasable, like land. To short traders. I don’t recommend doing that yet though. I’ll wait until the big banks start doing it, I don’t trust the altcoin exchanges. Maybe Gemini, but they don’t do short trades yet.\nI’m no financial expert, just another bitcoiner who has tried to peer into its future over the last 2 years, but I say hold your bitcoin and buy on dips. Do not pick the unripened fruit, the time is not right for harvest. In my opinion.       "body": "Or at least that's what I think the strange formations are.\nA playa is a flat dry lakebed. The Bonnyville Salt Flats are a playa. There are an estimated 20,000 playas worldwide.\nIn late 2013 myself and my 3 grown daughters visited Nevada and on a remote playa near Death Valley named Lake Bonnie Claire, we stumbled across about a half dozen 6 foot diameter circles impressed into the playa surface. \nThey were evidently formed when the playa silt was wet, yet there were no footprints or tire tracks nearby to suggest they were formed by humans. In some cases there was no other disturbance in the playa surface almost 100 feet in any direction.\nWe didn't know what they were but they were strange enough that I had my daughters take photos of the circles. \nMonths later I contacted the Nasa funded science team who had recently solved the Moving Rocks of Racetrack Playa mystery. Google it if you've never heard of it.\nThey were curious about the playa circles since the moving rocks they had studied all moved in jagged lines, not perfect circles.\nThey proposed some ideas to explain the circle formations, none of which seem plausible to me, then said they'd check out the playa next time they're out that way.\nThe formations were likely washed away by then and they've never gotten back to me. As the widely acclaimed solvers of the Moving Rocks mystery, they have incentive NOT to follow up on my circles that seem to say the mystery is not completely solved.  I'm not saying that's what is going on, just that it is a potential factor.\n\nWhat do I think created them? Little rocks.  In each circle there were little rocks, pebbles almost, dried into the mud ring. It appears to me that  those little rocks went around + around in a circle, either sliding or tumbling, to make the impressions. But what exactly made the rocks do that a half dozen times on one playa when playa rings or circles have never been reported anywhere else in the world before - is a mystery. \n\nI also have a history that might have some relevance to the playa circles. I saw a crop circle in Ontario Canada in 1971, and a black triangle Ufo in 1980.  That's about a decade each before they even had a name. For some reason I see some stuff way before the general public starts seeing the same thing.   I don't know what that's about but I'm pretty sure it wasn't intended that I should keep things to myself. Which I did regarding the crop circle, though I didn't call it that. I just thought of it as the landing site of a flying saucer. Anyway I'm not keeping the playa circles to myself. I may be wrong and they're not related, but I can't explain them any other way and neither can top scientists, so I'm putting them out there for people to see and let the chips fall where they may.\nI swear that everything I've said is the truth to the best of my ability, and while I have my stated theories the only thing I feel certain of is that there will be other Playa Circles. Why? Because I've given these circles a lot of thought and have come to the conclusion that there is no way on God's green earth that my daughters and I will be the first AND last people to witness these strange formations.\nBelow is a link to a slide show on my other channel I made about Playa Circles.       "body": "I have. Not that it matters. I'm new to Steem and the advice about Steem that makes the most sense to me is to post about things I'm interested in.\nI'm interested in today's politics, but much of my interest in politics stems from an interest in what for lack of a better term I'll call the paranormal. I'm a witness to some highly strange events throughout my life that have left me with little doubt that there is more to our reality than what we are told. So I'm constantly monitoring the news and governments from the perspective that they are hiding a massive secret and have been for about 70 years I figure. Since Roswell.\nThat's not to say that I think everyone or even the majority in news media or government is knowingly covering Ufos up. I think the subject gets choked off and suppressed very high up in the heirarchy.\nIf you're a vehement anti-Ufo person and this subject rankles you; as I know from experience it does for some; you might be surprised to learn that verified national polls show that nowadays more people believe it's possible earth is being visited than don't. Forty percent (40%) of people have someone close to them who has said they've seen a Ufo.\nNow, you can say all those witnesses are delusional, but that would be provably false in many cases owing to factors like high standing officials or multiple witnesses, ground traces, confirming radar traces, etc...\nSo that leaves us with some Ufo cases that cannot be denied or explained, which means they should not be dismissed.\nYet our governments do dismiss them and ignore the subject altogether. Whatever Ufos are, they have been seen by about 15% of the population. I've verified that number myself in Toronto street polls. So if you believe that all Ufo reports are figments of people's imaginations and you are correct, then in effect governments are allowing a hallucinatory mental illness that affects almost 1/6th of the population to go unchecked. The only treatment ridicule.\nThey're not hallucinations. They may be illusions, but imo they are up there, we're not imagining it. And there's no way in the world that so many citizens could be aware that Ufos are real, and our military is not. Those in power are afraid of losing power if the citizenry finds out government is powerless to stop these things, so they suppress and hide information. Ignore the subject and hope you'll stop asking.\nAnyway this post is getting kind of long so I'm going to end it with a link to a video I hope you'll like.\nIf you're over 45 you might remember this man - Dr. J. Allen Hynek. He was a scientist, an astronomer,  who the U.S. military hired to investigate Ufo cases for Project Blue Book. He was the front man, the guy they put in front of the cameras to tell the public that there is nothing to the reports of Ufos. He's also the guy who came up with the different \"encounters\". Project Blue Book was a whitewash but Dr. Hynek had to go along with it until his obligations to the military had expired. In this video he tells us that he was controlled by the military and was not allowed to tell the public about cases that exposed the phony anti-Ufo narrative.
