And I’m not talking about putting a little pipe of sorts into a maple tree to collect sap.</p>\n<p>This is something stranger.</p>\n<p><img src=\"https://naturallyzenlife.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/divider-purple-gold.png\" width=\"750\" height=\"25\"/></p>\n<p>Here's the story. . . We had already lived on our little farm for 12 years, and you’d think by that time there would be no surprises when we walked in the woods.</p>\n<p>But you’d be wrong.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>What's this have to do with tree pipes?<br>\nGlad you asked.</p>\n<p>One day we varied from our usual path and came across this sight:</p>\n<p><img src=\"https://naturallyzenlife.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/tree-pipe-vertical.jpg\" width=\"762\" height=\"825\"/></p>\n<p>Did you notice the unusual ornament in the tree trunk?</p>\n<p>Let’s look closer. . .</p>\n<p><img src=\"https://naturallyzenlife.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/tree-pipe-close.jpg\" width=\"732\" height=\"623\"/></p>\n<p>Yep, there’s a pipe embedded in that tree.</p>\n<p>So guess that makes it a tree pipe!<br>\nAnd since there are actually several sections of pipe, make that tree pipes!</p>\n<p>We have no idea how it got there. It had obviously been there a long time considering the way the tree had grown around it.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>What’s strange is how the pipe doesn’t look like it was stuck into the tree, but that somehow it was up against the tree and the tree just grew around it.</p>\n<p><img src=\"https://naturallyzenlife.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/divider-purple-gold.png\" width=\"750\" height=\"25\"/></p>\n<h3>Now for the Poem Part!</h3>\n<p>With apologies to Joyce Kilmer, this sight inspired (and I use that term loosely) a different rendition of the poem “Trees” . . .</p>\n<p>I never thought that I should see,<br>\nA pipe stuck way up in a tree.</p>\n<p>A tree that has a pipe that’s prest<br>\nAgainst the bark upon it’s chest;</p>\n<p>A tree that looks a trifle odd,<br>\nTo have a pipe stuck in its bod;</p>\n<p>A tree that in all seasons dresses<br>\nWith metal among its leafy tresses.</p>\n<p>Upon whose bosom rests a pipe;<br>\nBut yet I’ve never heard it gripe.</p>\n<p>Yep, such poems are made by fools like me,<br>\nWondering how a pipe got in a tree.</p>\n<p><img src=\"https://naturallyzenlife.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/divider-purple-gold.png\" width=\"750\" height=\"25\"/></p>\n<p>Now quit rolling your eyes and remember, humor and poetry can both be great for stress relief, thus helping you gain inner peace and get your Zen on.       "body": "<html>\n<p>If there’s something that will play havoc with your inner peace, anxiety has to be right up there near the top of the list.</p>\n<p>I can attest to this since I suffer from night-time panic attacks, and social anxiety. It’s hard to be calm and peaceful when you’re anxious about something!</p>\n<p>*** <em>Hey, I said in my introduction that I am always LOOKING for Zen, not that I always HAVE it! Now you know I have some good reasons for looking</em>. :-) ***</p>\n<h2>Don’t Worry, Bee Happy</h2>\n<p>So today I was outside enjoying the warm weather and sunshine, and watching the honeybees. Around our farm, the first flowers I see them working on in the spring are the blooms on the Leatherleaf Mahonia.</p>\n<p><img src=\"https://naturallyzenlife.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/honeybee-mahonia.jpg\" width=\"800\" height=\"449\"/></p>\n<p>The blooms aren’t even entirely open yet, but the bees are still busy gathering what nectar they can.</p>\n<h3>So I Wonder…</h3>\n<p>While those bees are busily working, I wonder what they think.</p>\n<p>Do they worry about not finding enough food?</p>\n<p>Do they worry some bear or other creature will come along and steal their honey?</p>\n<p>Do they worry they might get sick and die? Or that the queen might die and nobody will be left to provide the next generation for their hive?</p>\n<p>In other words, are they anxious about anything?</p>\n<p><img src=\"https://naturallyzenlife.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/divider-purple-gold.png\" width=\"750\" height=\"25\"/></p>\n<h2>Living in the Now</h2>\n<p>While I obviously can’t prove anything one way or another, I rather think that the bees are solidly in the NOW.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Unlike us humans, I doubt they are fixated on all the things they did wrong in the past...</p>\n<p>- Oh, I should have visited more flowers today!<br>\n- Why didn’t I try flying a different direction today?<br>\n- I should have done this, or I should have done that!</p>\n<p><img src=\"https://naturallyzenlife.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/bee-anxious.jpg\" width=\"799\" height=\"769\"/></p>\n<p>And I kind of doubt that they spend their time worrying about what might happen in the future. Even though they are gathering materials for honey that will provide for their future, it seems unlikely they actually get anxious about whether or not they have everything they need.</p>\n<p>Nope, it looks like they are just buzzing around and getting the job done. The weather is warm, there are blooms to be found and food to be gathered.</p>\n<p>I think I could learn a thing or two from the honeybees!</p>\n<p>They are living in the now. <br>\n<em>They’ve got their Zen on.</em></p>\n<p><img src=\"https://naturallyzenlife.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/divider2.png\" width=\"800\" height=\"108\"/></p>\n</html>",
