| body | It didn't seem to matter (last night) which wallet I was transferring BTC from/to. It was oddly slow. The usual excuse of "the network is saturated" doesn't fly, though, because numerous blocks were far smaller than the typical "999827 bytes" (within a stone's throw of the 1MB maximum). If the miners were working non-stop full-tilt, then why were a sizable fraction of the blocks only 400k-600k? That implies that the mempool wasn't "full" (with backlogged transactions). Why else would a miner NOT pack more transactions into a block they're working? This was not limited to Coinbase. I had the same delays transferring from my Android wallet to Kraken, and from Coinomi wallet to Electrum. |

| body | I tried to setup both myself a few months back. I ran into the same experience. Storj was very easy to set up while Sia, when it required me to have/spend some Sia, I stopped there. I haven't been running Storj continuously due to some hiccups. So I can't state anything towards payouts. I may set up again to see what happens. But I noticed that MaidSafe is also in the same game. But I didn't venture there yet. Have you tried MS? I'd be very curious to see how easy their setup is, comparisons, etc. Thanks for sharing! |

Hopefully, Segwit helps to alleviate the this type of network congestion. And then the 2 MB block increase in Nov should improve the transaction flow even more. |

| title | Coinbase - where does all the BCC go? |
| body | Coinbase will not support Bitcoin Cash. As such, they state that anyone holding Bitcoin Core (BTC) on Coinbase, if there is a bitcoin split on August 1, 2017, the user will not receive matching Bitcoin Cash (BCC) coins. First, let's reason. Sure, there are many technical challenges and security issues with supporting another chain in such a short time. And perhaps Coinbase is saying, screw BCC. It is not a serious coin, it will not receive serious support, and we want them to fade away. BCC will simply be another "crapcoin" and we don't support "$hitcoins". Regardless, for whatever reasons, Coinbase will not support BCC. But if the bitcoin holders do not get the BCC coins, then who gets them? What happens to the newly created BCC coins? Because Coinbase controls all the private keys for all the bitcoin users at the exchange, Coinbase will get control to the entire horde of BCC coins created on the Bitcoin Cash blockchain. If Coinbase will not give them to the rightful users, what will Coinbase do with them? A )They cannot possibly consider doing nothing. That would be idiotic. The coins have value. And if they dislike BCC, by holding the coins from the market, they are helping to inflate its value by reducing the trading supply. B ) If Coinbase is clever, they should unload all the BCC over the next few weeks and capture as much profit as possible. Here, they capture profit/value and they reduce the value by flooding the market with more BCC coins. Let's assume that Coinbase is clever. But what in the hell are they going to do with all the BCC profit? C ) If they keep it all, they are shady and a bunch of thieves. D ) The best thing, in my mind, is for them to sell all the BCC coins quietly and then distribute all the profits to the Bitcoin users who deserve them. E) Another alternative is to give out the profits to charity. #A is the worst scenario. #B + #D is the best scenario. What are they really doing with the BCC behind the scenes? They must reveal this, otherwise, they are #C. Let's see what happens ... |

"title": "Coinbase - where does all the BCC go?",
"body": "Coinbase will not support Bitcoin Cash. As such, they state that anyone holding Bitcoin Core (BTC) on Coinbase, if there is a bitcoin split on August 1, 2017, the user will not receive matching Bitcoin Cash (BCC) coins. \n\nFirst, let's reason. Sure, there are many technical challenges and security issues with supporting another chain in such a short time. And perhaps Coinbase is saying, screw BCC. It is not a serious coin, it will not receive serious support, and we want them to fade away. BCC will simply be another \"crapcoin\" and we don't support \"$hitcoins\". \n\nRegardless, for whatever reasons, Coinbase will not support BCC. \n\nBut if the bitcoin holders do not get the BCC coins, then who gets them? What happens to the newly created BCC coins? \n\nBecause Coinbase controls all the private keys for all the bitcoin users at the exchange, Coinbase will get control to the entire horde of BCC coins created on the Bitcoin Cash blockchain. If Coinbase will not give them to the rightful users, what will Coinbase do with them? \n\nA )They cannot possibly consider doing nothing. That would be idiotic. The coins have value. And if they dislike BCC, by holding the coins from the market, they are helping to inflate its value by reducing the trading supply. \n\nB ) If Coinbase is clever, they should unload all the BCC over the next few weeks and capture as much profit as possible. Here, they capture profit/value and they reduce the value by flooding the market with more BCC coins. \n\nLet's assume that Coinbase is clever. But what in the hell are they going to do with all the BCC profit? \n\nC ) If they keep it all, they are shady and a bunch of thieves. \n\nD ) The best thing, in my mind, is for them to sell all the BCC coins quietly and then distribute all the profits to the Bitcoin users who deserve them. \n\nE) Another alternative is to give out the profits to charity. \n\n\n#A is the worst scenario. \n\n#B + #D is the best scenario. \n\nWhat are they really doing with the BCC behind the scenes? They must reveal this, otherwise, they are #C.\n\nLet's see what happens ...",

| title | Gnosis - super bubble |
| body | <html> <h1><strong>Gnosis is 100% in super bubble territory</strong>. </h1> <p>The market value, relative to what they have created thus far, is in the stratosphere. </p> <p>In a <a href="https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@nanonerd/crypto-bubble-yes-and-no">prior post, I stated that we are not in a systemic crypto bubble</a>. However, there are certain coins that are truly, without a doubt, in a bubble. Gnosis is a prime example. </p> <p>Part of the problem is that <strong>there is not clear transparency on the total number of coins issued</strong>. <a href="https://blog.sia.tech/want-to-deflate-the-token-bubble-fix-the-market-cap-indicator-d50f7f1e1ec4">See here for an excellent article on this problem</a>. </p> <p>As of today, 5/21/17, <a href="http://www.coinmarketcap.com/">www.coinMarketCap.com</a> shows Gnosis’s market cap at $226 million at a token price of $204. But this is based on the circulating 1.1 million Gnosis tokens. This number represents largely what they issued in their jet fueled ICO earlier this month. However, the <strong>total number of Gnosis tokens in existence is 10 million</strong>. Thus, with 1.1 million circulating, there are 8.9 million tokens still not factored into the market cap value of $226 million. </p> <p>The traditional way to calculate market value is (price x number of coins). So the <strong>market cap for Gnosis should be $204 x 10 million = $2.04 Billion</strong> … yes, billion! </p> <p>WTF! </p> <p>How is it that coinMarketCap.com shows such a huge discrepancy? According to Vitalik Buterin, the justification for using circulating coins versus total coins to calculate market value is that back in 2013, Ripple had briefly surpassed Bitcoin in market cap after having only issued 10% of their total supply. People complained and thus, the market cap calculation changed to use circulating supply instead of total supply to present a “more fair” representation of market value. Unfortunately, as seen here, it can result in a massive skew on market value. </p> <p>It is very possible that many people buying up Gnosis tokens are simply caught up with crypto coin fever and thinking that the Gnosis market value is only slightly higher than Augur. </p> <p><img src="http://www.eusville.com/steemit/gnosisMarketCap.png"/> </p> <p>Here is a plain look at the current state of Gnosis. </p> <p>Circulating tokens = 1.1 million. </p> <p>Total tokens = 10 million. </p> <p>Market value = $2.04 billion. </p> <p>Profit = $0 </p> <p>Application status = alpha desktop and mobile clients in mid 2018. Alpha is the precursor to beta. Thus, according to <a href="https://gnosis.pm/timeline">their own roadmap</a>, <strong>there will not be a live product until 2019 at the earliest</strong>. </p> <p>Let me ask the community, has anyone seen a working demo of Gnosis? It is doubtful that Gnosis even has a full working demo at this point, yet people are blindly paying through the nose to get Gnosis tokens. </p> <h1>Competition</h1> <p>Is Gnosis the only prediction market play on the horizon? The <strong>answer is a resounding no</strong>. </p> <p><strong>Augur</strong> is developing a highly similar service. Augur has 11 million total coins which are all accounted for at CoinMarketCap.com. "title": "Gnosis - super bubble",
"body": "<html>\n<h1><strong>Gnosis is 100% in super bubble territory</strong>. </h1>\n<p>The market value, relative to what they have created thus far, is in the stratosphere. </p>\n<p>In a <a href=\"https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@nanonerd/crypto-bubble-yes-and-no\">prior post, I stated that we are not in a systemic crypto bubble</a>. However, there are certain coins that are truly, without a doubt, in a bubble. Gnosis is a prime example. </p>\n<p>Part of the problem is that <strong>there is not clear transparency on the total number of coins issued</strong>. <a href=\"https://blog.sia.tech/want-to-deflate-the-token-bubble-fix-the-market-cap-indicator-d50f7f1e1ec4\">See here for an excellent article on this problem</a>. </p>\n<p>As of today, 5/21/17, <a href=\"http://www.coinmarketcap.com/\">www.coinMarketCap.com</a> shows Gnosis’s market cap at $226 million at a token price of $204. </p>\n<p>The traditional way to calculate market value is (price x number of coins). So the <strong>market cap for Gnosis should be $204 x 10 million = $2.04 Billion</strong> … yes, billion! </p>\n<p>WTF! </p>\n<p>How is it that coinMarketCap.com shows such a huge discrepancy? According to Vitalik Buterin, the justification for using circulating coins versus total coins to calculate market value is that back in 2013, Ripple had briefly surpassed Bitcoin in market cap after having only issued 10% of their total supply. People complained and thus, the market cap calculation changed to use circulating supply instead of total supply to present a “more fair” representation of market value. Unfortunately, as seen here, it can result in a massive skew on market value. </p>\n<p>It is very possible that many people buying up Gnosis tokens are simply caught up with crypto coin fever and thinking that the Gnosis market value is only slightly higher than Augur. </p>\n<p><img src=\"http://www.eusville.com/steemit/gnosisMarketCap.png\"/> </p>\n<p>Here is a plain look at the current state of Gnosis. </p>\n<p>Circulating tokens = 1.1 million. </p>\n<p>Total tokens = 10 million. </p>\n<p>Market value = $2.04 billion. </p>\n<p>Profit = $0 </p>\n<p>Application status = alpha desktop and mobile clients in mid 2018. Alpha is the precursor to beta. Thus, according to <a href=\"https://gnosis.pm/timeline\">their own roadmap</a>, <strong>there will not be a live product until 2019 at the earliest</strong>. </p>\n<p>Let me ask the community, has anyone seen a working demo of Gnosis? It is doubtful that Gnosis even has a full working demo at this point, yet people are blindly paying through the nose to get Gnosis tokens. </p>\n<h1>Competition</h1>\n<p>Is Gnosis the only prediction market play on the horizon? The <strong>answer is a resounding no</strong>. </p>\n<p><strong>Augur</strong> is developing a highly similar service. Augur has 11 million total coins which are all accounted for at CoinMarketCap.com. Augur’s market cap is $192 million. </p>\n<p><strong>Aeternity</strong> appears to be pivoting and will <a href=\"https://blog.aeternity.com/re-discovering-prediction-markets-ac2e780bb263\">enter the prediction market game</a> as well. </p>\n<p>And this is just the beginning. <strong>Does anyone really think that the betting arena will be limited to these three players</strong>? </p>\n<p>So with strong competition for similar services, how is it that Gnosis is valued 10 times higher than Augur? But if the ETFs are not approved this year, then perhaps next year as regulations are passed and Wall Street interest continues to grow even stronger. IMO, I put the BTC ETF approval chance at 50%. I put the ETF approval chance at 60%. So overall, there is still a very high chance that neither gets approved this year. You just don't know with the SEC ... |

| body | Somehow, these Ripple magicians created a digital currency with the hybrid characteristics of a centralized fiat. Instead of XRP, it should be called MC for MuttCoin. XRP has no utility value. They use a private chain for God's sake. As such, control is centralized by their own little private consortium. The value is a pure mirage and event driven by news about the Ripple protocol, of which it has no connection other than name and the people behind both ventures. Let's see, as the price goes up, when they dump the other 40% and see what that does to the price. Now I get it. The name Ripple is a condensed form of "Rip People Off". |
