      "body": "As car drivers in Lebanon, we spend most - if not all our time - in the car swearing at all those around us who \"don't know how to drive\"; not only that, we actually have the nerve to assume that all those driving around us are morons who shouldn’t be allowed to drive…but not us! After all, we’re perfect.\nYet, after years of observation, one logical conclusion surfaces and that there are no traffic rules here EXCEPT for that golden rule that we all believe in on the road: “It’s the other guy’s fault, not mine!” Think about it: if two Lebanese drivers got in an accident, just ask them whose fault it was and they’ll blame each other but not themselves because we’re all natural-born drivers and we can’t possibly make mistakes, no?\nUltimately, there comes a time when we should take a long hard look into ourselves and admit to the cause of this traffic chaos: we’re ALL idiots. Don’t deny it - you know it, I know it and the sooner we understand that, the sooner we can start working on it.\nYou can’t solve a problem if you don’t acknowledge its existence in the first place, so let’s start assuming responsibility and stop being idiots.",

      "body": "On this blessed occasion of the Fitr Eid that marks the passage of the month of Ramadan I would like to wish all my brothers and sisters in humanity (especially my Christian brothers and sisters) a happy and prosperous life filled with peace and justice.\n\nI honestly believe that the lessons we should learn from Ramadan transcend the need to merely deprive ourselves of sustenance but rather that we need to each look inside ourselves and be true enough to realize that we all have faults and need to admit that they exist then seek to address them.\n\nAs a Muslim, I need to come to terms with the reality that even though Islamic literature and traditions may seem \"beautiful\" and \"peaceful\" there are, nonetheless, innumerable pieces of evidence in our own scriptures that do preach hatred and downright intolerance. This may come as an uncomfortable issue to some; truly, the notion that we may have to review and revise our historical literary works to eliminate the faux-Islam teachings may seem inconceivable to some yet it is incumbent upon us to do so in order to deprive anyone of the ability to sow discord among us or between us and people of other faiths!\n\nThink about it this way: every day we see videos of \"Islamic\" hardliners, namely Wahhabis and Salafis, chopping heads, killing, destroying, etc. and we have become programmed to denounce this with the standard phrase \"this does not represent Islam\"...so? Since when has this been enough? By the way, I am fully aware of the existence of False Flag attacks taking place over the world with US, Israeli, European, Arab intelligence agencies where Muslims may be portrayed as terrorists but the fact remains, Islamic hardliners exist and scores of them are in Syria right now carrying out unspeakable acts.\n\nThe shocking truth is that these US led fanatics believe that they are carrying out their \"Islamic\" teachings to the letter and when you look into it, they really are carrying out the actions of some of their predecessors (khawarjites, for example) whose teachings have seeped and crept through our literature over the centuries so much so that they have become fixtures for some Muslims.\n\nThe point is this, I hold nothing but respect for my Christian brethren and despite the differences in our teachings we manage to engage in constructive, educational and respectful dialogue whenever the chance arises.       "body": "I'm Lebanese.\n\nI've been living in Lebanon for the better part of my life and yet I am fully aware that nearly the whole world is affected in one way or the other by US foreign policies that represent the US-based corporatocracy (as so eloquently described by John Perkins in his book Confessions of an Economic Hitman). On the economic side, you tend to present a rational approach backed by factual evidence and tangibles that corroborate your thesis 2. Your proposals with regards to the hegemonic stance of the US government in all things internal and foreign are logical.\n\nUnfortunately, and I do mean this in the most respectful manner, you started to lose momentum when your logic turned questionable as you became more and more of a \"Trump is never wrong\" band-wagoner. Seriously, Trump has proven to be the exact opposite of everything he has campaigned for (imprisoning Hillary, getting along with Russia, stopping all forms of terrorist sponsorship by the Saudis and sanctioning them, etc.). In fact, the only promise he's carried out is more pampering for Israel at the expense of the US taxpayers and the lives of every sentient being in the Middle East who suffer as a result of ISIS (Israeli Secret Intelligence Service), Jabhat al Nusra and every other Al Qaeda offshoot that all turn out to be US/Israeli terrorist tools.\n\nTo top it all off, you go and do the unthinkable by defending Trump after his blatant attack on the Syrian fighter jet last weekend, (a jet that was out to attack ISIS), his constant demonization of Iran and his support for regime change there even though Iran happens to be a state that is actually fighting ISIS (quite effectively, I might add), whitewashing the Saudis' obvious support for ISIS then selling them billions of dollars in weapons (that would inevitably reach ISIS's hands - same as the Toyotas) and spearheading the effort to ignite a new world war by provoking Russia at the behest of his obvious corporate masters, the Zionists, that you insist on keeping ambiguous through referring to them constantly by that ridiculous moniker \"The Powers That Be\" (which I laugh at every time I hear you say).\n\nYou have got to clean up your act and start taking things seriously - get off the Trump bandwagon - the guy's a phony; he was selected as the latest puppet and he is carrying out the Zionists' plans to a T.
