The season came to a close with a total of $150k in CWS being distributed across all chains as prizes. NFT Brawl Season 3 was launched during the month with as much as 20k CWS up for leaderboard rewards. The session was moderated by Kerel Verwaerde, CMO of Seascape Network.\n## SEGMENT 1 : Interview with AMA Moderator\n### Kerel — Today we are joined by Paul Claudius from the DIA Team to explain a bit more about their project and how it benefits Seascape. So first Paul could you tell us a bit more about yourself and DIA?\n\n### Paul — \nYes, sure! Pleasure to be here. My name is Paul and I am one of the co-founders of DIA.\nI have a background in management and finance, investment banking, private equity and e-commerce. I first got in touch with the space in 2013, like many of us, when by pure coincidence buying my first Bitcoin.\nBack then, I still could not completely understand the core technology and the implications it would have in finance. In 2016–2017, after some research, clarity and interest, I decided to leave e-commerce and fully focus on blockchain.\n\nAt that time, together with current co-founders, we were setting up smart contracts holding different assets, so what today we would call DeFi :). When setting up those smart contracts, the first problem we identified was the absence of transparent data. We needed data on and off-chain. We could not find sources where we could understand where the ETH/USD price data came from, which exchanges or the methodology behind. So that’s how DIA was born, out of a product need we had back then.\n\n### Kerel — Could I ask what made you want to leave e-commerce for blockchain? was there a specific trigger?\n### Paul — \nDid e-commerce for some time. Was really done with my learning curve and achieved stuff I wanted in the industry. Blockchain was sneaking up and becoming more and more an interest. Was hard not to jump for full time Urge to go into the industry increased with my understanding of the tech and its possible impact.\n### Kerel — Paul could you also tell us a bit more as to why those oracles are s important?\n\n### Paul —\n Yes, oracles are very integral infrastructure to dApps. Smart contracts are not able to access outside information, not even unchain info in most cases. Oracles for this reason provide information to a smart contract that can range from asset price data to weather data or NFT specific data such as benchmarks or indices. Also for example randomness is something oracles provide that is often used in unchain games.\nThe integrity of the data provided is key to not abuse the product. In DeFi we saw a lot of vulnerabilities exploited, so called oracle attacks and sandwich attacks in specific. We provide the stack to mitigate these vulnerabilities.\n\nBut we also are needed to have smart contracts work that require i.e. data which is distributed in different environments specific to NFTs which have a lot of off chain and unchain data based on the issuer, marketplaces, dApps to name a few.\n\n### Kerel — How are you different from some of your competitors that also provide oracles?\n\n### Paul — \nDIA’s approach on how data is sourced, computed and delivered is very different to the rest of the oracles in the market. DIA works in a completely decentralized and open-source structure where market actors supply, validate, use and share financial data.\n\nBy leveraging the power of the crowd through decentral governance and incentivization, the community gets rewarded by connecting new data source scrapers to the DIA platform. This results in a very efficient and scalable approach to source data.\n\n### Kerel — Also what does a sandwhich attack do? do you replace mayo with hot sauce? Maybe rephrase the last message a bit?\n### Paul — \nYummy… It is an attack that abuses usually liquid markets to manipulate the price that is broadcasted by the oracle. The fewer markets used by the oracle to determine a price the easier the attack.\n\nAll used sources and methodologies are fully transparent and publicly accessible. Finally, the data points are made publicly accessible and delivered through an API or oracles to smart contracts on all major blockchains such as Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, Polkadot, Polygon, Moonbeam, and more.\n\n### Kerel — You mentioned the community being rewarded and you know we’re very big on community rewards, could you tell us a bit more about that?\n\n### Paul — \nWe as A DAO rely on the community very much. So the product and gov decisions are really sth driven jointly. We provide bounties and fund tickets for new data sources being added. The DIA platform provides the infrastructure for market actors to supply, validate, use and share financial data.\n\nFounded in 2018 as a Swiss-based non-profit association, DIA’s mission is to democratise access to financial data, similar to what Wikipedia has done in the broader information space with regard to central encyclopaedias.\n\nThe connection with Seascape is very concrete. Sainath Gupta, Hello and welcome!\n\n### Sainath — \nMany thanks Mike\n\n### Mike — Great to have you in here for an AMA! We are really excited to be working with Knit Finance and I know our community is excited to hear more about your wonderful project. We have a few introductory questions we would like to ask and then we will open the floor for our community to ask questions!\nLet’s start with the basics, could you please tell us a little about yourself and Knit Finance?\n\n### Sainath — First of all thanks to you and your community for giving me this opportunity\nI am Sainath Gupta, CEO of Knit Finance. I made India’s first mobile point of sale i.e Aasaanpay, in 2011. I have been a successful fintech entrepreneur since then. I come with a rich decade plus of innovative fintech execution experience.\n\nI am responsible for general execution of Knit Finance. At present, the DeFi space is limited prominently to only two public networks. Due to this the ecosystem can only tap 3% liquidity out of the $2 trillion market space (May 21).\n\nKnit Finance is a unique decentralized protocol that combines wrapped assets across multiple chains, bridges, and real-world markets with yield, lend, trade, and margin services through smart contracts. It is the next generation of DeFi protocol that aims to bridge multiple non-Ethereum chains with ERC20 in Phase 1.\nWith Multichain Bridges, KNIT Finance creates a way for billions in liquidity to flow into DeFi. Any crypto hodler can convert their coin to an equivalent wrapped token of ERC-20 standard with KNIT Finance’s smart contract. The wrapped token thus generated is pegged to the original token in a 1:1 ratio. This token can then be lent, borrowed, or farmed. It’s also incredible to see a project build a cross platform DeFi product.\n\n### Sainath — \nThank you. That experience helped a lot in making secure applications\n\n### Mike — Top priority in this space when so many have been struggling to stay secure. Let’s move on to our next question, one I think our community is excited to hear about! We would love to know how Knit Finance would be leveraging Razor partnership. Would you be able to throw some light on that?\n\n### Sainath — \nOur product works on multiple chains for wrapping assets and liquidity staking, we are working closely with Razor and as well using PoA bridges for oracle and cross chain asset management functionality.\n\n### Mike — Interesting! There is a definitely a need in this industry to have such capabilities with oracles. Can you also tell us about how Razor will be integrated into the Knit Finance ecosystem?\n\n### Sainath — \n**When it comes to Razor Token:**\n\nKnit Finance gives RAZOR token holders the ability to use the token as a payment instrument in our marketplace. $razor token will be available on multiple chains using knit finance multichain architecture\n\n### Mike — Very nice! I think everyone in our community loves to see more RAZOR utility and I know the Knit Finance marketplace is going to be massive! Tell us more about connecting blockchains, why it is important to build bridges between blockchains? I would also love to hear how how your wrapped assets work.\n\n### Sainath — \nCurrently its very hard to bridge assets between two chains and most are concentrated around couple of chains only leading to capital inefficiency and user experience is really hard. Our vision is to make the movement of assets seamless between multiple chains for a better user experience and better capital efficiency. Talking about the importance of the bridges varies with users’ demands and requirements.\n\nSuppose users want to hold any non DeFi token they have the least option to utilise these token, Now with our solution farming using a wrapping solution they can keep those assets with custodians and gain more using wrapped assets in the ecosystem. At the time of withdrawal it will be much more amount that users actually hold or gain through farming.\n\n### Mike — That’s really good. In the bigger scope of things, adoption is never going to come with the current limitations. Every day I work with people in private messages helping them figure out bridges and many find it too confusing to even attempt. To have a product like this is massive to connect various dApps and bring real world adoption into light. Who would you say is the target customer for Knit Finance? In the current stage, is your team focused on catering to the masses or position as leaders to a niche market?\n\n### Sainath — \nProduct has been made after feedback from multiple stakeholders. As its a new market, its niche and we are aiming to be product leaders.\n\n**Our target audiences are:**\n\n* Non-DeFi Token holder who wants to participate in Defi\n* Token staker who wants liquudity for his token which is staked\n* Chains which want DeFi on there chains to start\n* Chains which want tokens to be present on multiple chains\n\n### Mike — Interesting! Here at Razor we also see the massive benefit to catering a product to stakeholders and partnerships. It helps build a much better product fit and build something that is not just a copy of everyone else but is something useful to projects. I have not seen too many projects like Knit Finance. Who would you say are Knit Finance competitors and what are your unique selling points over them?\n\n### Sainath — \nWe support multiple chains and wrapped tokens that are 1:1 collateralized and 100% verifiable. How can token holders benefit with KNIT FINANCE tokens?\n\n### Sainath — \nKFT Token Use Cases.\n\n**Governance**\nKFT is the governance token for Knit finance platform. All protocol-level changes shall be governed by voting using KFT tokens. We’re exploring converting it into an independent SaaS offering so developers and projects can build unique offerings for the different pools.\n\n**Staking**\nKFT token will be considered to be part of all major staking wrapped asset projects , enabling token holders to stake KFT tokens and earn a bunch of other wrapped assets where possible.\n\n**Premium Pools**\nKnit Finance would be launching several premium pools and offering, which would be available to KFT token holders on a TIER structure.\n\n**Premium Offerings**\nKnit.finance is collaborating with several chains, projects, launchpads, platforms and service providers to synergies with them for special access etc. This would be made available to KFT token holders on a TIER structure.\n\n**Add-ons Access**\nKnit.Finance is working on adding several add-ons (such as on-chain insurance, farming of NFTs etc.).
