| body | "Making it" on any platform takes consistency. In order to be consistent in the long haul you need to have a solid workflow. Here's what my workflow looks like: - The first thing I do is come up with an idea. At this stage is doesn't need to be particularly good (you can work on the idea later) or fleshed out. - Next, I copy my template and create an initial draft. I use a tool called Draft which offers excellent version control. - After that I collect/create any assets I might need. - Review & improve my draft. - Move the Draft to Steemit & review everything again, making any needed changes. - Finally, I create any social media posts that go along with the post once published. - Archive the project. - Once posted, I check the task off.
Process
Idea (often recorded as audio or in a notebook) -> input idea into project manager (I use Asana) -> create initial draft -> collect/create and assets that you will need along with the post -> review and improve draft -> transfer content to Steemit editor, improve formatting etc -> create complementary social media posts -> archive project & check off task The reason I use Asana is its ability to filter posts & view the tasks I have created. | body | You've created a Bitcoin wallet, downloaded Nicehash and started mining! Awesome. You now have created a stream of mostly passive income. Just make sure you are [using hardware](https://www.nicehash.com/profitability-calculator) that actually makes sense to be mining with. Assuming your rig is profitable, the next step is to keep track of your earnings. You can view your projected earnings based on current earnings at https://www.nicehash.com/miner/YOUR-BTC-ADDRESS-HERE Of course on Android you could just bookmark your Nicehash URL, however An Android app can make it a bit easier to monitor that your rig is running properly. The best application I've found on Android is called [Monitor for Nicehash](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.miner). Getting started with the app is super easy. All you have to do is tap the floating action button at the bottom right hand corner, name the miner address and then paste in your BTC address. The app will then populate with your average profitability, as well as display your projected income on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. The app comes with a widget so you can put this info on your homescreen! In is my favorite feature of the app. As you can see I like to get as much information from my homescreen as I can. The next tab over will display your current balance. In the same tab it will also display what algorithm your rig(s) are mining with with. If you scroll to the bottom of the page, it will also display when your next estimated payout is, again, based on your current income. If you would like to receive notifications about when Nicehash has distributed payments or when your rig(s) have stopped working, the developer has an optional one-time pay-what-you-want model which costs $3.99, $7.49 or $10.99 to activate the notifications feature. It will also display the last 7 days worth of payments, all of your active workers and it also has a builtin hardware monitoring service, which costs $1,49/mo USD in the US. I have not personally used the hardware monitoring service so I can't recommend it, but it may or may not work well. Overall this app works quite well. The main thing to note is it will only work as well as Nicehash does. Nicehash will often has extended periods of unannounced maintenance. Other than that, it works as expected. Let me know if you have any specific questions about the app. |

| body | If you have a Google Home speaker/any Chromecast device, you have probably enjoyed the ease with which it provides your content. It's super easy to ask it to play any song or to turn off your lights. Many applications already support casting. YouTube (obviously) supports casting video to your Chromecast devices, Pocketcasts, Google Play Books, Google Music, and many other apps also allow for this. For those apps that do not yet support Casting, there is an easy workaround built into Android natively that doesn't require the application to provide direct support. This may be obvious to some of you, but I was momentarily frustrated with not being able to listen to my audio from Blinkist on my speakers instead of just through my phone and then I remembered that Android had this feature built in!
Requirements
In order to cast from your devices, you will need Android 4.4.2 or higher. You will need to be connected to the same wifi network as the Chromecast, Google Home or other devices are connected to in order to make this work, (which you probably are unless you are just setting the device up).
Setup
- Now all you have to do is open your quick settings - Tap the edit icon - Drag and drop the Cast icon into the whiter field - Press the home button - Now locate the application you would like to cast from - Swipe open the quick settings again - Tap the Cast icon - Choose a device or group of devices to cast to - Voila! Just like that you are casting any application to your devices.. I'd love to hear from you if you have any comments or questions about your Android device! [Here](https://support.google.com/chromecastbuiltin/answer/6059461?hl=en) is the official support material as well, just in case the photos I have included become out of date. |

| body | Thank you for the tip. I often cast things trough Chrome casting support (beta version of that feature is described here https://www.cnet.com/how-to/enable-chromecast-streaming-in-latest-chrome-beta-for-android/). It even works with embedded Openload, Vidstream and other providers. Key is to start playback in Chrome on android and then a "cast" icon appears in left right corner. Once you click it, you'll direct cast media content. Difference between full screen cast (or global cast) is that this way it is less taxing on device you cast from. |

| body | I have always been interested in how things work. Why do plants grow? How do you build a computer? How was that effect made? Is the earth flat (*just kidding!*)? One question in particular that comes up often is how did a company manage that? So I've gathered a list of companies that make quality products that are in some cases, radically transparent, so that you can get a better view to see what it takes.
Hello Code
The first company I am highlighting is Hello Code. It is definitely the smallest in terms of size, being a team of two, Josh and Belle. Their largest project, [Exist](https://exist.io), is a tool that collects data across many different services (like your exercise data) and creates correlations. Hello Code has a [stats page](http://hellocode.co/stats/) for their company which shows their income and how many paid users they have for their products. They host an [excellent podcast](https://www.moredone.co/blog/10/27/2017/podcast-highlight-hello-code) that brings you through many of the inter-workings of the company. They write [yearly reviews](http://blog.hellocode.co/post/2017-review/) (they missed 2016) about their company, the struggles they encounter and what lies ahead along with more data about Hello Code. If you read nothing else from this blog or what I've linked to, I encourage you to take a quick look at [Hello Code's blog](http://blog.hellocode.co/) In particular I think they give a good look into what it might be like to develop an app, especially when you have such a small team. Because Apple wouldn't approve their app all of the sudden, it took a long time to implement an in-app only subscription model for their iOS users and not link at all to any outside content, link their website and Twitter. On a side note I think this shows how fearful Apple is that people will leave their ecosystem... Hello Code also develops a tool called [Changemap](https://changemap.co/) where they are show what features they are working on in public, and they also take user suggestions about their main product, [Exist.io](https://exist.io/). It always feels nice as a user when a company allows you to give feedback and then implements it, or at least acknowledges it as long as it isn't boilerplate. I think that larger companies like Amazon, Apple and Google should all endeavor to offer better direct feedback channels that are as open to discussing their companies as Exist is, even if they need to dial it back a bit.
Beeminder
Beeminder helps back up goals by making you pay if you don't stick to it. You can view their revenue [here](https://www.beeminder.com/meta/revenue#data) by day (along with many other aspects of the company [here](ttps://www.beeminder.com/meta)). They have a very interesting model for improving their company called User Visible Improvements where every day they are required to make an improvement or they have to **pay their users**! You can view the changes they make on their [UVI Twitter](https://twitter.com/beemuvi?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor) feed. They are very open in their [forums](http://forum.beeminder.com/top/all) and their support is impressively good. There's not much more to say, but if you are interested about the inter-workings of a great company with a super interesting idea with active users, this is the company to take a look at.
Buffer
[Buffer](https://buffer.baremetrics.com/) using an app called [Bare Metrics](https://baremetrics.com/) to see their recurring monthly revenue, their net revenue, the fees they pay and quite a bit more! They also have an excellent [status page](http://status.buffer.com/) which you can check if you think you are having issues as a user.
Mailchimp
Mailchimp doesn't necessarily have as much information available in terms of revenue by month, but they do offer quite a few interesting stats in their annual reports which also incorporate some awesome designs. - [2012](https://mailchimp.com/2012/) - [2013](https://mailchimp.com/2013/) notice 1,020: campaigns about Bitcoin (: - [2014](https://mailchimp.com/2014/) - [2015](https://mailchimp.com/2015/#visit-from-a-mariachi-band) - [2016](https://mailchimp.com/2016/) - 2017's isn't out yet! They are also quite open about when they make changes to their tools, like when they updated their [email campaign building interface](https://blog.mailchimp.com/introducing-a-new-and-improved-campaign-builder/).
Highrise
[Nathan Kontny](https://twitter.com/natekontny?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor), CEO of Highrise, has been someone I've respected and followed for several years. He does a lot of thoughtful writing on his Medium blog [here](https://medium.com/@natekontny) and on [Signal V. Noise](https://m.signalvnoise.com/). Nathan creates daily vlog and he often talks about different aspects of the company he runs, Highrise. He just went over what it was like to take over a [neglected company](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqypph_Dk9E&t=74s).
Corrior Digital
This is probably the most entertaining out of the bunch since they produce a vlog every other day! They bring you through running the company, including specifics of the film making process and so much more. Recently Niko talked about having to [push his team](https://youtu.be/nOp7XGZEmWg). I would love hear about what companies/projects/people you follow that give a glassdoor view that people don't normally share openly! |

"body": "\n\nI have always been interested in how things work. Why do plants grow? How do you build a computer? How was that effect made? Is the earth flat (*just kidding!*)? One question in particular that comes up often is how did a company manage that? So I've gathered a list of companies that make quality products that are in some cases, radically transparent, so that you can get a better view to see what it takes.\n\n
Hello Code
\nThe first company I am highlighting is Hello Code. It is definitely the smallest in terms of size, being a team of two, Josh and Belle. Their largest project, [Exist](https://exist.io), is a tool that collects data across many different services (like your exercise data) and creates correlations.\n\n\n\nHello Code has a [stats page](http://hellocode.co/stats/) for their company which shows their income and how many paid users they have for their products. They host an [excellent podcast](https://www.moredone.co/blog/10/27/2017/podcast-highlight-hello-code) that brings you through many of the inter-workings of the company.\n\nThey write [yearly reviews](http://blog.hellocode.co/post/2017-review/) (they missed 2016) about their company, the struggles they encounter and what lies ahead along with more data about Hello Code. | body | Hi! My name is Ben. I'm going to tell you a bit about myself and about More Done but first I just wanted to say how excited I am to join such a cool community and concept. I am still just starting to understand everything. So a bit about myself. I have a love for tinkering with computers and software, figuring out how to do things, especially things that were not originally intended. I enjoy video editing, playing games & taking steps towards my goals in an intentional way. I have a few different holdings in different cryptos, including some Bitcoin, BURSTCOIN, NXT, NAV, Litecoin and a few other coins as I learn more about what's out there. I think Burst is a really cool coin because it combines so many interesting features other coins have into one package. It uniquely (at least at the time of this being written) has PoC mining, which means proof of capacity. So you mine with your hard drive space, which is much more energy efficient among quite a few other benefits. The name More Done comes from the want to help people get more done, just in general. Because I spend so much time using and learning about technology, I see people misuse it all the time and it's those people who I want to just say "here! try this!" and give them a tool or idea that will help them improve what they were trying to do. So that's it! I really look forward to engaging and learning with this community. My Twitter is @BenMillford |

"body": "Hi! My name is Ben.\n\nI'm going to tell you a bit about myself and about More Done but first I just wanted to say how excited I am to join such a cool community and concept. I am still just starting to understand everything.\n\nSo a bit about myself. I have a love for tinkering with computers and software, figuring out how to do things, especially things that were not originally intended. I enjoy video editing, playing games & taking steps towards my goals in an intentional way.\n\nI have a few different holdings in different cryptos, including some Bitcoin, BURSTCOIN, NXT, NAV, Litecoin and a few other coins as I learn more about what's out there.\n\nI think Burst is a really cool coin because it combines so many interesting features other coins have into one package. It uniquely (at least at the time of this being written) has PoC mining, which means proof of capacity. So you mine with your hard drive space, which is much more energy efficient among quite a few other benefits. \n\nThe name More Done comes from the want to help people get more done, just in general.
