      "body": "![HARDFORKSOFTFORK.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmSzYB663VpkasHM2BazfrSunt4iki9gYRucsif1xsnjG3/HARDFORKSOFTFORK.jpg)\n\n____\n<br>\n<br>\n<h2>Hard Fork</h2>\nWell at first it sounded like an aroused utensil, however it wasn't that arousing for the Bitcoin community.\nA hard fork is technically a change in the protocol where their is a possibility of a network split ( community split ), this happens when a big portion of the community don't agree with the update.\nThis lead to two different currencies like Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash, hard forking is not backward compatible so not all nodes can communicate together unless they are in the same updated network, the history of the blockchain is shared till the fork.\nHard forking is important when the community wants to change the block structure.<br>\n![Bitcoin-forks.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmbJRNLpGWRL24R93R8vAqgpBUhfVCt5yrN713oFHXLRuH/Bitcoin-forks.jpg)\n<br><br>\nSomething significant to keep in mind is the fact that hard forking is prone to splitting the community by having two coins and two networks, this makes you vulnerable to replay attacks.\n<br><b>What do i mean by replay attacks?</b>\nLets just say Monk had 1 BTC before the hardfork, \nafter the hardfork Monk still has his 1 BTC but also has 1 BCH, \nthis happens because you will get an equal amount by default of what you had previously when the fork happened.\nNow if Monk send 0.5 BCH to Trump and Trump is a malicious fraudulent person, he could replay that transaction to himself through the BTC network. So instead of Monk sending 0.5 BCH he theoretically sends 0.5 BCH and 0.5 BTC to Trump. \n\nIf you are still bewildered by the term replay attack watch this video.\n\nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xbqafDBP8ls\n\n________\n\n<br><br>\n<h2>Soft Fork</h2>\nNot much to say about this flaccid utensil...only a change in the protocol, however it is still backward compatible, making all nodes still able to communicate together.       "body": "![Blokchain-1030x729.png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmRkpMs9ErMbzPtw5UjuriaUdjkXZGXnYQeMEd1J46msQK/Blokchain-1030x729.png)\n\n\n<h1><em>Blockchain Is Omnipresent Part I:</em></h1> \n\n<h3><em>Monkondmt' Notes.</em></h3> \n\n----\n\n<br>\n<h4> We will be going through the following.</h4>\n\n<ol>\n<li>What is Blockchain?</li>\n<li>Smart Contracts</li>\n<li>Ivan On tech Blockchain Course @ivanli</li>\n\n</ol>\n<br><br><br><br><br>\n<h5>What Is Blockchain?</h5>\n<br><br>\n\nStarting off by breaking down \"Block\" & \"Chain\", this way we can understand it a little more deeper than just saying \"Blockchain is a decentralized database and peer to peer network that stores a registry of transactions\".\n<br>\nWhat is a Block: A set of data lumped together and then chained to one another with cryptography, also a block is a bunch of transactions.\n<br>\nWhat is the Chain: Each block builds on from the previous block.\n<br>\nTo add more clarity a registry of transactions is a phonebook or directory, while having a peer to peer network. \nWhich is in other words having anyone with internet being able to participate in the blockchain.\n<br>\nLike many humans in this world blockchain also has its own traits.\n<br>\nTraits:\n<ul>\n<li>Permissionless (accessible by anyone)</li>\n<li>Transparent (visible to everyone)</li>\n<li>Immutable (Permanently unchangeable)</li>\n<li>Secure (not easy to tamper with) <br> every node across the network has its own local copy of the blockchain\n</li>\n\n</ul>\n\nBlockchain is a connective tissue that allows you to trade items (digital or physical) of value without a middleman.\n\n\n\nIf you are still uncertain here is a 2 minute clip.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6WG7D47tGb0\n_______\n\n<br><br><br>\n\n\n\n\n<h5>Smart Contracts</h5>\n<br>\n\nSmart contracts are like the contracts we are use to but with a twist.<br>\nIt is a small computer program that runs on a blockchain, you can think of a smart contract as an “if this then that” program that executes upon its conditions being triggered, these are often called “self executing” contracts because they guarantee the business logic that they represent, since the code runs automatically ( rules and conditions as code/ an agreement ),\n no human intervention was needed during this process.\nThe smart contracts are immutable, so once you deploy the coded agreement into the blockchain there is no way to change it.<br>\nThe programming language used to make smart contracts is solidity which is run on the ethereum platform, This programming language can be compared to JavaScript.\n<br>\nIt all boils down to the question \"what are the use-cases of smart contracts\"?<br>\n\nThe bigger picture of smart contracts inevitably leads us to a fully automated corporation or firm, also known as DACs & DAOs ( Decentralized Autonomous Corporations & Decentralized Autonomous Organisations ) \nThese would be described as a \"nexus of contracts\" where the whole firm or corporation runs on smart contracts, removing humans from the equation and relying on the network to execute the job for you.\n<br>\nVitalik Buterin simplifies smart contracts in this clip.\n<br>\nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r0S4qIMf4Pg\n---------------\n<br><br><br>\n\n<h5>Ivan On tech Blockchain Course</h5>\n\nThis is a course instructed by the youtuber IvanOnTech @ivanli.  \nhttps://ivanontech.teachable.com/p/blockchain-fundamentals\n<br>\n\n<h3>Q&A</h3>\n<h2><b>Provenance:</b></h2>\n<b>How does blockchain enable digital provenance? </b>\nBy tracking goods, funds and ingredients to its origin having let the customers get fully detailed information of a certain good, it's origin and history by using blockchain because of the immutability and transparency knowing the chain of blocks can't be tampered with.\n<br>\n<b>Why doesn’t a normal database bring the same provenance?\n</b>Having a central server gives the authority ability to change certain data which shows us that it is not immutable like blockchain data so why wouldn't the authority change the data for their own benefit, having to have trust to the authority who controls the servers is the issue in itself.\n<br>\n<b>Why is digital provenance such a great benefit to many businesses?</b>\nIt's great for many businesses by satisfying your customers, having your customer get a detailed background of a certain good and know who has made it, how it was made and what was used to make it. \nTrusting a networks transparency and immutability than a 3rd parties word.\n<br>\n<h2>Consensus</h2>\n<b>What does it mean when we say that in blockchain, consensus determine the truth?</b>\nWhen not having a central authority, nodes collectively decide on what state the database should be in what transaction should be accepted or not.\n<br>\n<b>How is this different from how truth is determined in a central database? \n</b>Central authorities will have the owner take power of the data where he can personally change, edit or delete certain information whenever they like, big corporations have a lot of power over users data.\n<br>\n<b>What do we mean with information silos?</b>\nDifferent companies having different clouds of databases which is the opposite of the blockchains global infrastructure. \nHaving informational silos slows down the process of transferring data from one silo to another while a global database is more efficient.\n<br>\n<h2>Security & Immutability</h2>\n<b>How does a decentralized network increase security?
