titleBest Teas for Every Mood
body![Best-Teas-Mood.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmTLWM9BjFUxmJNyBaWfheL5WaSJ1WpNF4imwFyLKVUEQy/Best-Teas-Mood.jpg) Tea drinking has become popular once more especially now when studies have shown of their numerous health benefits. Among the types of tea that are considered favorites are green tea, oolong, and white tea because they can reduce one’s risk of heart problems, Alzheimer’s, cancer and others. However, most people don’t realize the tea can also have an effect on one’s mood. As a matter of fact, there are certain types of teas that can help you relax, increase your productivity levels, and so on. So which teas are appropriate for your mood? Here are some to get you started. Chamomile. If you are feeling stressed out lately and you need a way to achieve a calm and relaxed frame of mind, do yourself a favor and prepare chamomile tea. Even lemongrass tea can ease the tension in you so that you will be able to work clearly with a calm mind. Ginger. Is your stomach upset hindering your productivity levels? Instead of taking some Pepto Bismol, try sipping ginger tea. Ginger is actually a good remedy when it comes to soothing your stomach as well as other problems in your digestive system. And if you’re suffering from some horrible hangovers, you should definitely go for ginger tea to solve your nausea. Green tea. Most of us go for a cup of coffee to revitalize us during slow hours but if you are sensitive to caffeine or you want to cut back on your coffee intake, a better alternative would be green tea. You can also opt for black chai which also has minimal amount of caffeine in it with chai spices to help you perk up. Orange tea. There will those days when you feel that you hate the whole world which isn’t surprising as stress can take a toll on us from time to time. But if you’re feeling down in the dumps, skip that pint of ice cream in the fridge but rather go for some orange or even lemon tea. Smelling the citrusy scent of orange and lemon can actually boost your mood and, if you add the high amounts of antioxidants in them, you’ll find that you’re actually perkier than before. Rooibos. Another possible tea for those stressful days is rooibos. This will help reduce your stress levels so you will be able to function better. You can also add some ginger or a combination of chamomile and ginger to help calm your digestive system while you are at it. Mint tea. If you are not really into caffeinated drinks even if they are in tea form, why not opt for mint instead? Mint leaves can give you that jolt you need when your energy levels start to dip. As you can see, there are indeed different types of teas out there that you can choose from depending on what mood you are in at the moment. What’s great about these choices is that they are all safe to be used and that a cup can already yield quite a lot of health benefits.

titleWould You Consider Rubbing Pork Fat On Your Face?
body![lard-696x490.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmcPMMXwJT3ATEXTEjFoYfdKuw5McCvC6VnrnRBpaBRXf4/lard-696x490.jpg) I’m sure you all have heard of surprising and strange things that people would consider using or rubbing on their faces for “beauty’s sake”. The latest to hit the beauty product scene is using pork fat as moisturizer and wrinkle-fighting product. So let’s find out if you should really consider rubbing pork fat on your face? Explanation You might think that pig collagen is a strange thing to use as a beauty product, but this may not be so. Stimulating collagen production is the mission of those anti-aging products, since lack of collagen is attributed to wrinkles. This leads us to the question, Why use pork fat? Studies show that pigs have a similar body make-up to people. So it makes sense to use it in humans right? Plus some anti-aging products currently out in the market today are including some form of collagen as an ati-aging ingredient for their selling point. The South Korean beauty market are selling beauty products that include pig fat as one of its components. But is it really effective? Experts say that collagen molecules are too large to be absorbed or to passed through our skin, and therefore may not be entirely effective. But this will not stop you from trying it right? After all a huge percentage of all beauty, cosmetic and skin products have animal fat in them. So why not give it a try? Just try to make sure that the lard or fat you’re rubbing on your cheeks is from the unprocessed fatback of humanely raised pigs, if you want to make it at your home. Or you can try one of those products sold in the South Korean market, such as pig collagen jelly packs.

So why not give it a try?\n\nJust try to make sure that the lard or fat you’re rubbing on your cheeks is from the unprocessed fatback of humanely raised pigs, if you want to make it at your home. Or you can try one of those products sold in the South Korean market, such as pig collagen jelly packs.",

Nonetheless, you wouldn’t want to feel bloated, so opting for healthy drinks is a good idea. While there are a lot of energy drinks to give you that oomph, a much better option are healthy drinks that you can make in your home. We’re sharing some recipes of great-tasting healthy drinks to help speed up your recovery time and increase your strength and endurance. 1.Green Banana Smoothie Takeout the leafy green from your fridge and mix them with a ripe banana. This is specially a good choice when you’re a morning workout person as it makes a good breakfast. It contains lots of fiber, which aids your digestion. 2. Blueberry, Banana, and Wheatgrass Smoothie We all know that blueberries and bananas taste so good together. Adding wheatgrass would give it a surprising kick. Wheatgrass lowers your blood pressure, cleanse your digestive tract, and helps speed up your metabolism. This combination is also a good source of protein and fiber. 3. Blueberry and Banana Smoothie with Green Tea If the flavour of wheatgrass is a bit strong for your taste, you can replace it with green tea, which is packed with antioxidants as well. The taste is so relaxing that you’d lose all the nerves before a workout. 4. Banana Walnut Smoothie You can add almost anything to bananas – walnuts for instance. This nutty smoothie contains a lot of nutrients as well as antioxidants and potassium. Bananas are excellent source of potassium, and it would provide you the energy to maximize your workout. 5. Pineapple and Banana Smoothie If you like working out at night, this smoothie is perfect. You usually crave sweets atnight, and you can satisfy it with this yummy concoction. Itmay also serve asanearly treatfor pushing yourself to exercise after a long day’s work. 6. Banana Strawberry Protein Shake For a great boost of energy, you can mix protein powder with bananas and strawberries. Protein shakes usually have bitter after-taste, so why not make it fun and delicious while getting the same benefits – and more! 7. Orange Smoothie with Flaxseed If you want to ditch the bananas, there are also other ingredients that you can use. Peaches and carrots go well together. It does not only look delicious, but it tastes delicious as well. Make it even more appealing by sprinkling ground flaxseeds. 8. Honeydue and Kiwi Smoothie This blend is absolutely refreshing and cooling, and it will keep you hydrated all throughout your workout session.

titleStop Your Skin from Chafing
body![922px-Rash-e1461595549792.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmexN5Uxc6phemV8tKxroPC7zbMh7Y8WHVMBwV8b7LQHQo/922px-Rash-e1461595549792.jpg) Have you ever experienced chafing in the worst areas of your body? That irritating feeing when you get them in your legs from walking? Chafing is no fun, and is best to avoid it at all cost or prevent it from getting any worse. Chafing occurs when our skin tends to rub against one another. This leaves the skin raw, irritated and painful. Many women suffer from inner thigh, upper arms and under boob chafing. This is often caused by excessive walking, exercising and large breast. Don’t worry, you are not doomed to living the life of having this skin irritation every time you plan to move. There are a lot of simple tricks you can do at home that can stop and reduce chafing. Try these out and look forward to a chafing free workout every time. Use The Right Clothes If you tend to chafe after a rigorous workout, then your outfit may be using the wrong outfits. Clothes that can absorb a lot of moisture such as cotton and synthetic fiber can cause chafing and further irritate it. When picking out workout gears, try looking for ones that would repel moisture. Don’t skimp onother areas, use ones that won’t absorb moisture in chaffing prone areas such as the thighs, under arms and chest. This can help you work out with ease and prevent the skin from getting darker due to constant friction with moisture and fabric. Talcum Powder The best way to reduce the irritation from chafing and making sure it doesn’t get worst is to remove any moisture in the affected area. You might think that the moisture would be good since it can lubricate thearea making movement easier. However, moisture can further irritate the skin and cause it to acquire more heat. This what we are preventing. We want to keep the skin dry and itch free. You can reduce the moisture without irritating the skin by sprinkling in a good amount of talcum or alum powder in areas that chafe or is prone to chafing. The powder will soak up the moisture and prevent your skin from sticking together due to moisture. You can easily acquire these powders in your local stores. Try putting them on before you leave home and feel the huge difference. Lubricate This appears like contradicting tips to powdering. However, there are certain items that can be used to lubricate the skin when movement is inhibited by chaffing. If you are having a hard time lifting your arm due to the irritation, you can slather on a good amount of petroleum jelly to allow the skin to glide from one another and not have any resistance. This will cut the risk of chafing and better option for the inner thighs and chest. Another great alternative is lanolin. Avoid anything that can make the skin sticky such as lotions, sweat and other thick creamy products. Antiperspirant This really works wonders. If you are prone to chafing or is currently suffering from one, you need to reduce the amount of sweat you produce in these areas as much as possible. The simple way to do that is to use an antiperspirant. Yes, the ones you use in your underarm. The night before or after showering, apply a thick layer of antiperspirant in areas that are prone to chafing and allow it to dry before applying any of your clothes. Use clear products to avoid getting stains on your clothes. Anti-Chafing Garments Thanks to technology, there is almost a product for everything. A great invention in fashion is anti-chafing clothes. These are stylish yet, useful undergarments that were specifically designed to reduce chafing. These items reduce the tension on the skin by reducing friction, moisture and tightness. You can look in your local shops or brands to see which ones caters to this type of clothing. This is really great underwear, especially during hot summer days. The best way to prevent chafing is to reduce the amount of friction to your skin. You can reduce the irritation from chafing by making sure it is always dry. Wet skin can irritate the skin more and cause the chafing to be more painful. Powders are really great for reducing the moisture. If your chafing is causing too much pain, that walking and other activities become too much of a hassle, go to your dermatologist. They can prescribe you with medication that can help reduce the pain.

titleSigns That Your Kidneys May be Doomed to Fail
body![Kidneys-Doomed-Fail.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmUGBtcqLPZZhP34JpegsVJSd5Qyzg1mUBcbCPJTA6VCyh/Kidneys-Doomed-Fail.jpg) If you think that your kidneys are for urine production only, think again. That pair of bean-shaped organs you have carry out plenty of tasks, all of which are very important. They include: Regulating the levels of acid and certain minerals in the body Maintaining normal blood pressure Flushing out toxins and impurities in the bloodstream Synthesis of vitamin D that’s necessary for strengthening the bones Managing the production of oxygen-carrying red blood cells Evidently, you cannot have a healthy body without your kidneys! Due to the many different roles that they need to play, it’s of utmost importance to keep your kidneys in an excellent shape. According to nephrologists, or doctors specializing in the kidneys, the following can help save your kidneys from trouble: Drinking enough fluids on a daily basis Having your regular dose of exercise Inclusion of healthy foods in your everyday diet Keeping sodium intake within the normal range Managing levels of glucose in the blood if you are suffering from diabetes Maintaining normal blood pressure if you have hypertension Quitting cigarette smoking Refraining from overdoing supplements, herbal remedies, and OTC and prescription drugs If you don’t take your kidneys very seriously, all sorts of problems with it can strike, and many of them can lead to kidney failure. Just like what the name says, it keeps the kidneys from doing their tasks properly, and your overall health will definitely suffer. Here are some indicators that your kidneys may be failing: Scanty urine. Drinking plenty of fluids but it seems like you’re peeing only very small amounts of them? It’s very much likely that your kidneys are unable to get rid of those fluids that need to be removed from the body. The little urine you pass may also appear dark or frothy. Weight gain. Since the kidneys are no longer able to properly flush out excess fluids in the body, you tend to end up bloated. Certain parts of the body become swollen, like the face, abdomen and ankles. Fatigue. Earlier, it was mentioned that the kidneys are role players in the production of red blood cells that carry oxygen. With not enough red blood cells, your muscles fail to get all the oxygen they require. Anemia. Having insufficient red blood cells is a condition called anemia. It’s something that can cause a host of unfavorable symptoms, from tiredness, shortness of breath to dizziness. Diminished cognitive functioning. Since toxins and impurities are accumulating within your body, the ability of your brain to work properly is considerably diminished. Loss of appetite. It’s not just your brain that will suffer if your kidneys are no longer unable to detoxify your body, but also your digestive system which usually manifests itself in the form of decreased appetite. Nausea. With all of those poisonous substances collecting in your body because of your malfunctioning kidneys, you will definitely feel nauseated as well as have the urge to vomit. Skin itchiness. You may notice the formation of rashes that itch like crazy if your kidneys are no longer working optimally. Again, it is brought about by the accumulation of toxins and impurities in your body. Increased blood pressure. The volume of your blood remains increased if your kidneys are unable to sweep out excess fluids in the body, and this can leave you with high blood pressure which is something that can increase your heart disease risk. Heart palpitations. You may feel that your heart is racing or pounding if your kidneys are failing because of the fact that those bean-shaped organs are unable to eliminate excess potassium in the body.

That pair of bean-shaped organs you have carry out plenty of tasks, all of which are very important. They include:\n\n\n \nRegulating the levels of acid and certain minerals in the body\nMaintaining normal blood pressure\nFlushing out toxins and impurities in the bloodstream\nSynthesis of vitamin D that’s necessary for strengthening the bones\nManaging the production of oxygen-carrying red blood cells\nEvidently, you cannot have a healthy body without your kidneys! Due to the many different roles that they need to play, it’s of utmost importance to keep your kidneys in an excellent shape. According to nephrologists, or doctors specializing in the kidneys, the following can help save your kidneys from trouble:\n\nDrinking enough fluids on a daily basis\nHaving your regular dose of exercise\nInclusion of healthy foods in your everyday diet\nKeeping sodium intake within the normal range\nManaging levels of glucose in the blood if you are suffering from diabetes\nMaintaining normal blood pressure if you have hypertension\nQuitting cigarette smoking\nRefraining from overdoing supplements, herbal remedies, and OTC and prescription drugs\nIf you don’t take your kidneys very seriously, all sorts of problems with it can strike, and many of them can lead to kidney failure. Just like what the name says, it keeps the kidneys from doing their tasks properly, and your overall health will definitely suffer. Here are some indicators that your kidneys may be failing:\n\n \n\n \nScanty urine. Drinking plenty of fluids but it seems like you’re peeing only very small amounts of them? It’s very much likely that your kidneys are unable to get rid of those fluids that need to be removed from the body. The little urine you pass may also appear dark or frothy.\nWeight gain. Since the kidneys are no longer able to properly flush out excess fluids in the body, you tend to end up bloated. Certain parts of the body become swollen, like the face, abdomen and ankles.\nFatigue. Earlier, it was mentioned that the kidneys are role players in the production of red blood cells that carry oxygen. With not enough red blood cells, your muscles fail to get all the oxygen they require.\nAnemia. Having insufficient red blood cells is a condition called anemia. It’s something that can cause a host of unfavorable symptoms, from tiredness, shortness of breath to dizziness.\nDiminished cognitive functioning. Since toxins and impurities are accumulating within your body, the ability of your brain to work properly is considerably diminished.\nLoss of appetite. It’s not just your brain that will suffer if your kidneys are no longer unable to detoxify your body, but also your digestive system which usually manifests itself in the form of decreased appetite.\nNausea. With all of those poisonous substances collecting in your body because of your malfunctioning kidneys, you will definitely feel nauseated as well as have the urge to vomit.\nSkin itchiness. You may notice the formation of rashes that itch like crazy if your kidneys are no longer working optimally. Again, it is brought about by the accumulation of toxins and impurities in your body.\nIncreased blood pressure. The volume of your blood remains increased if your kidneys are unable to sweep out excess fluids in the body, and this can leave you with high blood pressure which is something that can increase your heart disease risk.\nHeart palpitations. You may feel that your heart is racing or pounding if your kidneys are failing because of the fact that those bean-shaped organs are unable to eliminate excess potassium in the body.",

titleWant to Lose Weight Fast? Then Boost Your Brown Fat!
body![Lose-Weight-Fast.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmW5dyd3WJnnVuikCPY71pZy7CARKEyQp9DDusUmWKhjrK/Lose-Weight-Fast.jpg) Brown fat — it’s a special kind of fat that everybody has, and it’s known to generate a lot of heat to help the body survive especially when the external temperature drops. Initially, scientists thought that only babies had it in order to prevent them from being cold. But back in 2009 experts found out that adults had brown fat, too, but in small amounts. Here’s the deal with brown fat: when it’s activated, it tends to zap tons of calories to keep babies warm. Just like what’s earlier said, brown fat can also be found in the bodies of adults. However, scientists found out that some adults had more of it than others. Also, they discovered that people with more brown fat had lower body mass indexes or BMIs — it’s a way of measuring the amount of body fat based on a person’s height and weight. Simply put, experts believe that brown fat plays a very significant role in the metabolism. It’s exactly for this reason why they are doing more investigations on how brown fat can be harnessed to solve the epidemic that is obesity. Just like what’s said earlier, the amount of brown fat in adults is way smaller compared to the amount found in babies. Also, they tend to be mixed with white fat, and experts say that it is usually situated on select areas of the body only, such as the sides of your neck and sometimes on the shoulder and upper arms, too. This is exactly the reason why it can be very challenging to detect brown fat. Experts locate it with the help of positron emission tomography (PET) and computerized tomography (CT) scans. Through these diagnostic procedures, scientists are able to tell where exactly in a person’s body those active brown fat cells can be found. What’s so important about finding the exact locations of brown fat? Such is imperative so that experts may be able to study brown fat further. What they are currently doing is determine how the amount of brown fat present in the bodies of adults can be increased to help them attain faster metabolic rates and ultimately ward off obesity. But you don’t really have to wait for that medical breakthrough to come into being. Actually, scientists say that there are some things that you may do in order to have your brown fat activated and multiplied, too. So if you want to employ brown fat in your quest to lose unwanted pounds, follow these simple tips on how to boost one’s brown fat: Exercise in cool environments. While you’re exercising, crank up that A/C if you want to enhance brown fat activity. Experts say that brown fat springs into action when the body temperature drops. Again, it’s due to the fact that the primary role of brown fat is to burn plenty of calories to keep the core temperature normal. Limit your intake of fat. Active brown fat can make it harder for medical professionals to locate cancer cells during diagnostic imaging procedures, and they recommend their patients to have a high-fat diet to deactivate brown fat. So in theory, opting for a low-fat diet can do the complete opposite — activation of brown fat! Avoid having your apples peeled. We all know that higher concentrations of certain nutrients can be found in apple peels. Here’s one more reason for you to stop reaching for that peeler: experts say that apple peels contain high amounts of ursolic acid, which is a substance that is proven to increase the amount of brown fat. Eat other ursolic acid-containing foods, too. Apple peels are not the only ones that can supply your body with brown fat-boosting ursolic acid. Scientists say that this very helpful substance can also be obtained from the likes of berries, plums, bitter melon, lavender, thyme, oregano, holy basil and peppermint.

titleGluten Free Diet
body![gluten-free-e1445957911583.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmUrwH79ibdU6Cg1vag9yHrQRgUrUPEoT8bEYFgGpSQm1N/gluten-free-e1445957911583.jpg) If you are interested on going on a diet, you may have already done your research and found out about the gluten free diet. What is this diet? Why is it the subject of numerous controversies and debates? In this article, we will try to answer these questions that you may have so that you can determine whether or not implementing this particular diet is really good for you. A Brief Overview on this Type of Diet As already implied by the term, a gluten free diet is a type of diet that eliminates all food products that contain gluten. Gluten is a form of protein complex most commonly found in wheat, triticale, barley, and rye. While this diet is a must for people suffering from celiac disease, it has grown significantly in popularity among those who are aiming for weight loss and for improved health. Case Studies and Scientific Research Suggesting that Gluten is Bad for Most People’s Health There have been a number of case studies and scientific research conducted about the safety of consuming food products that contain gluten. The results suggest that this protein complex is bad for most people’s health, aside from those who are already suffering from health problem celiac disease. Here are some of the studies and research: Article from the Journal of the American Medical Association – This article reported on a study conducted on more than 30,000 patients. The datas collected starting from the year 1969 to 2008. The participants either had intestinal inflammation (not full-blown celiac disease), gluten sensitivity, or celiac disease. Those who were suffering from celiac disease had a 39 percent higher fatality risk. Those who were suffering from intestinal inflammation had 72 percent risk. Participants with gluten sensitivity had a 35 percent risk. Another study reviewed and compared blood tests of 10,000 participants (50 years ago) with 10,000 participants today. The discovery was shocking: there was a 400 percent increase in individuals suffering from full-blown celiac disease. Elevated antibodies found in the blood (TTG antibodies) were used as the basis of measurement. These increased significantly when there is gluten reaction taking place. There are other studies being done in the hopes of determining that gluten is indeed bad for the health. However, the two mentioned above should already be an indication of the negative effects that this protein complex have. Reasons to Go Gluten-Free Despite of Not Being Sensitive to It Even if you are not suffering from celiac disease, gluten sensitivity, or intestinal inflammation, you should still consider going on a gluten-free diet. There are a number of good reasons why and here are some of them: This type of diet allows you to eliminate processed foods which are very unhealthy. As a result of no longer consuming processed foods, weight loss will naturally take place. Certain types of opioid peptides have been found in wheat. These are the same drugs used in the creation of morphine and many other extremely addictive drugs. It has been found that gluten has the potential of supporting the development and creation of cancer cells. Going on a gluten free diet can help you reduce your risks of developing cancer.

titleOffice Wellness Tips to Keep in Mind December 30, 2016
body![office-wellness-tips.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmSHb2SuS9JxKm11jKZCpDmyy6jYFi4BRhpnMAxhgZU15Z/office-wellness-tips.jpg) It’s not really surprising that you are no longer in the mood to exercise after a long day at work. Chances are you’re probably craving for something sweet like ice cream or cake to chase the blues away. Most office workers are guilty of not being able to give one more burst of energy to hit the gym or workout at the end of the day because of the amount of work they had to do. The problem is that this makes them prone to weight gain and health problems. Fortunately, there are ways in which you can still keep your slim figure intact and be in the best of health even when you are in the office. For those who work in an office, these tips can help you stay fit and healthy. Breakfast is important. The best way to start the day is to have some breakfast so you will have energy until your next meal. This will also stop you from buying chips and chocolates to snack on until lunch time. Get up. Sitting on your chair for extended periods isn’t really doing your spine a lot of good not to mention your midsection too. As a matter of fact, sitting for hours on end is actually bad for your health which is why you need to get up and move around as much as possible. If you’re going to talk to someone, skip sending them a message through your computer and just go to their cubicle. This will break the monotony of sitting constantly plus you can get some light exercise while you are at it. Skip the soda and other sweetened drinks. There will be times when you’re energy level will go down but if you’re drinking soda to give you a jolt of energy, you are not really helping your weight or your health at all. Think about the amount of calories present and the sugar that they contain that can add pounds to your frame. If you need to wake up, have some green tea or coffee. Do errands. When someone needs to bring a paper to the upper floor or run down to buy some coffee for the team, volunteer. These errands require you to get up from your chair and walk. Skip the elevator while you are at it so you can get some much needed workout to your day by using the stairs. Packed lunch, anyone? If you’ve been eating at restaurants or fast food chains during your lunch hours, you might not be getting the nutrients that you need to have sufficient energy for the rest of the day. Bringing your own lunch, on the other hand, gives you more freedom to plan your food so you can choose better meals that will sustain you until you get home. Make sure that you have vegetables and fruits in your packed lunch. Stay active. Another trick that can help you stay fit even when you work in an office is to add some activity in your day. This can be something simple as walking back home or going out for a bike run around the street for 10 minutes or so. Even the simplest form of exercise is better compared to doing nothing at all. As you can see, there is simply no excuse for you to not stay slim when you’re in the office. With these tips in mind, you’ll be able to prevent pounds from adding up because you are burning calories. Keep in mind that even the simplest exercise can go a long way when it comes to staying fit and healthy.

Fortunately, there are ways in which you can still keep your slim figure intact and be in the best of health even when you are in the office.\n\n\n \nFor those who work in an office, these tips can help you stay fit and healthy.\n\nBreakfast is important. The best way to start the day is to have some breakfast so you will have energy until your next meal. This will also stop you from buying chips and chocolates to snack on until lunch time.\n\nGet up. This will break the monotony of sitting constantly plus you can get some light exercise while you are at it.\n\nSkip the soda and other sweetened drinks. There will be times when you’re energy level will go down but if you’re drinking soda to give you a jolt of energy, you are not really helping your weight or your health at all. Think about the amount of calories present and the sugar that they contain that can add pounds to your frame. If you need to wake up, have some green tea or coffee.\n\n\n \nDo errands. When someone needs to bring a paper to the upper floor or run down to buy some coffee for the team, volunteer. These errands require you to get up from your chair and walk. Skip the elevator while you are at it so you can get some much needed workout to your day by using the stairs.\n\nPacked lunch, anyone? If you’ve been eating at restaurants or fast food chains during your lunch hours, you might not be getting the nutrients that you need to have sufficient energy for the rest of the day. Bringing your own lunch, on the other hand, gives you more freedom to plan your food so you can choose better meals that will sustain you until you get home. Make sure that you have vegetables and fruits in your packed lunch.\n\nStay active. Another trick that can help you stay fit even when you work in an office is to add some activity in your day. This can be something simple as walking back home or going out for a bike run around the street for 10 minutes or so. Even the simplest form of exercise is better compared to doing nothing at all.\n\nAs you can see, there is simply no excuse for you to not stay slim when you’re in the office. With these tips in mind, you’ll be able to prevent pounds from adding up because you are burning calories. Keep in mind that even the simplest exercise can go a long way when it comes to staying fit and healthy.",

titleQualities of a Good Leader
body![good_leader_620x330.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmYxHxqi1QZ7QrNbsxgrF8eNKyJDekJgMsLe1LuNWmteq8/good_leader_620x330.jpg) In times of stress and despair, a person can either rise to the occasion, smiting the problem with the fist of an angry god, or cower in fear clumsily like an elephant who sees a rat. A good leader will take charge of the situation, and help all others overcome reservations along with it. He or she will also see to it that a problem like the one at hand is prevented, or at least handled properly next time. There is no end to the benefits and rewards of being a good leader. However, not everybody is born a leader. Some start out complacent, but eventually live and learn to be able to lead. Some pick it up naturally while others have always simply had it in them from the beginning. You can’t always teach a person to be a good leader, but you can definitely try. The process of becoming a leader can have different results on a varying amount of people, but it will be almost always be worth the effort to give it a shot. What Makes a Good Leader? A good leader is capable of inspiring others to follow a cause both willingly and with vigor. A strong sense of confidence and good example are also qualities that a good leader can inspire to his or her followers. This is where leading by example can benefit the most; your primary goal is for your work force to be diligent, organized and hard working. A leader must live up to his or her own standards or ideals. That said, if you are seen slacking off or backsliding on your work, then your workers will think it is okay to be less productive. Don’t make your work force do something you wouldn’t do yourself. Humble and reserved, a good leader exhibits a cool head needed to lead. A sense of humility can encourage workers to great lengths. This humility can also gain a good amount of respect from your work force, as an inflated ego is a lot harder to give respect to. Instead of pompously asserting yourself, try to use certain principles constantly stressed to your work force. A good leader who embodies humility can be particularly inspiring. A leader is nothing without his followers. A good leader is always appreciative for the work force on hand, never underestimating the importance of offering undying gratitude to those who are try hard at work. Every person longs to be appreciated, and when it is received, the person will feel more inspired to work towards the right thing. However, appreciation need not devolve into flattery, and must always be genuine and given whereever due. A good leader often has a clear vision of what he or she wishes to accomplish. Sometimes the resistance to change is something to be overcome if one wishes to lead, because if your work force has been doing something the same way for a long period of time, then they may have gotten used to having a deep embedded aversion to fresh, new ideas. To be able to inspire change and evolution in your work force, a good leader must believe in progress and change himself. Your belief in your own vision for change can be something your work force will pick up on later. However, a willingness to change may lead into people criticizing your approach. It may be best to discuss things like friends or colleagues rather than debate and argue like enemies. Constructive criticism is instumental for progress, but when criticism turns into insult and argument, simply focus on how much you want the new approach to work. The need to defend yourself is sometimes outweighed by the need to look forward on things, giving your vision a certain nobility. Sometimes when an argument cannot be dismissed entirely, it can be a good option to sit down and listen to the people making it. Sometimes the reasons behind criticism can be rational and reasonable, making listening to what your followers have to say worthwhile. A good leader will often feel that he is more of a teammate than the team leader. Your workers and followers will oftentimes have good opinions and ideas despite giving off criticism from time to time. Even the most unworkable ideas can be worth giving a listen to, as a good leader values his or her worker’s opinions regardless or not if they are useful. A friendly, approachable aura should be a quality of a good leader. History has proven that leaders who lead by instilling fear, oppression and violence on a group of workers results in catastrophic failure. Don’t be afraid to open up to your followers at all: Workers who feel that a leader can relate to them will often set a more comfortable and productive workplace, and become happier and easier to work with in the long term. An aura of approachability can also be achieved when the leader does not take himself too seriously. A good leader will never be afraid to swallow pride and admit he or she is wrong, even in the most dire of situations. The leader will be able to joke around at his or her own expense without feeling bad, and can help gain the appreciation of the work force. People will naturally appreciate people who admit mistakes, but it is still important to assert that the leader is still the leader of the work force.

titleImpressive Beauty Uses of Colloidal Silver
body![Beauty-Colloidal-Silver.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmetAqssZbHkuqE11C1aFnxgT7GtyohhmPU4CNTQ2J59Ze/Beauty-Colloidal-Silver.jpg) Have you heard of colloidal silver? If not, continue reading this article especially if you are a beauty-conscious person and you are constantly on the hunt for some cheap and all-natural remedies for the most frequently encountered cosmetic nightmares out there. Below you will learn about the many impressive beauty perks of colloidal silver. But before we do that, let’s first devote a little of our time to knowing colloidal silver more. After all, it is very important that you are aware of anything that you are applying on your skin. When you inspect colloidal silver, it looks just like water. However, observing a drop of it under a microscope will reveal the fact that it is no ordinary liquid — there are tiny, tiny particles of silver suspended in it. Silver has numerous health benefits to offer, and that is why colloidal silver is revered for the many perks that it can bring. Colloidal silver is known most especially for its ability to control inflammation. It’s also capable of zapping microbes like bacteria, viruses and fungi. Because of the said properties of colloidal silver, it is commonly used for disinfecting minor wounds and also managing various forms of infections, such as sinusitis, pink eyes and even the common cold. Now that you are acquainted with colloidal silver, it’s now time for us to discuss the reason why you are still reading this article, and that’s knowing the various beauty uses of colloidal silver that are proven effective! Pimple and Acne Control Many swear by the effectiveness of daubing a little colloidal silver on pimples and acne. This really easy beauty tip works so well because colloidal silver is capable of dealing with bacteria and inflammation, both of which can be blamed for pimple and acne breakouts! Scar Improvement You may also regularly apply colloidal silver on unsightly scars to have their appearance improved after some time. It is said that colloidal silver is very good at stimulating the healing of skin. Because of that, its regular application can help in replacing old scarred tissue with new tissue. Fine Line and Wrinkle Reduction Because colloidal silver is known for its skin tissue-renewing properties, it is also commonly used as an anti-aging agent, which means that it is capable of reducing fine lines and wrinkles. Actually, there are a number of creams, lotions and serums for dealing with fine lines and wrinkles that have colloidal silver in them. Rash Soothing Colloidal silver may also be applied on skin rash to help soothe its itchiness or stinging sensation. And thanks to its antimicrobial properties, the rash you have can be kept from worsening. Sometimes, a mixture of colloidal silver and manuka honey is used for treating rash so effectively. Insect Bite Alleviation The problem with insect bites is they are not only itchy or stinging, but they could also end up infected and even lead to scarring. As soon as you discover an insect bite, daub a little colloidal silver on it. Doing so will help soothe the discomfort or pain, and also keep an infection from striking. Minor Cut or Scrape Healing Speaking of preventing an infection, you may also apply colloidal silver on minor wounds to zap present bacteria, thus saving it from becoming infected. Once the wound has healed, you may continue applying colloidal silver as it can prevent it from ending up as a scar, just like what’s discussed earlier in this article. Do you have beauty-conscious relatives and friends who prefer to deal with various cosmetic issues naturally? Then have this article reposted on all of your social media sites to get them introduced to colloidal silver, too!

You can simply be applying it on your table and accidentally spill some of it on your hardwood table or you accidentally grab your clothes with newly applied nail polish. Nail polish can stick to any surface, from fabrics to wood, but it doesn’t mean it has to stay there. The faster you remove your nail polish stain, the more likely you’ll be able to salvage the item. Read on about the different items that can remove nail polish from different surfaces. Removing Nail Polish from Clothes This is one of the most common places where you can find nail polish stains and can be the trickiest surface to work with. Nail polish remover can remove the stain but it can damage the fabric and dye. Before applying nail polish remover on the fabric perform a tiny patch test. Drop a small amount in an inconspicuous area and leave it to dry. If the fabric remains as is, then it is safe to remove it with the nail polish remover. If it is not an option, you can use hair spray. The drying agent of hairspray makes the nail polish easy to peel off. If nothing seems to work, you can always run down to your favorite cleaners. Removing Nail Polish from Wood Never ever use nail polish remover on wood. It will ruin your furniture and it is close to impossible to fix this mistake. Nail polish remover will ruin the wood finish and leaves an ugly stain. There are different materials you can use to remove nail polish from wood. You can get rid of the stain by simply using hair spray. Leave the hair spray to dry for a minute and wipe it off. If you can, try scratching it with your nail. If it doesn’t come off, repeat the process until you remove the stain. Removing Nail Polish from Hair People make this mistake one too many times. You thought your nail polish was dry and you ran your fingers through your hair. Now, you have stains on your hair strands. If you don’t have time to wash your hair, there are quick fixes to removing it. When the nail polish is still wet, you can use nail polish remover. When it’s dry, you can use conditioner and oil. This will make the polish slide right off. Removing Nail Polish from Carpet Carpet is prone to almost any stain imaginable – mud, wax, creams, food and so much more. Yet, nail polish is one of the hardest stains to remove from carpets. Nail polish will stick to the fiber in your carpet, creating a hard surface. Don’t worry though, there are ways to remove it. The first thing to consider is the color of your carpet. If the carpet is white or light colored, you can use non acetone based nail polish remover to wipe away the stain. If the carpet is dark colored then you have to be careful about disrupting the dye of the fabric. Nail polish remover will alter the color of the dye, so avoid using it. You can use hairspray on the stain and scrub it off with a sponge. Rubbing alcohol can also soften hard nail polish. You can soak the stain in it and use a small brush to remove it from the carpet. This may take a few tries before the stain is completely removed. Most home solvents can be used to remove nail polish, but these solvents can at times damage furniture or clothes. The best way to remove nail polish without doing harm to your items is to pick a material that can isolate the nail polish for removal without affecting the properties of your article. Above are different ways to remove nail polish stains.

And when you’re able to get a good night’s sleep, you’ll feel energetic and more alert the following day. Think about its white or pink blooms added to your bedroom, and you know that this will be a good decorative piece in your sanctuary. Aloe Vera. This plant is a perfect addition to your bedroom as it tends to release more oxygen in the air. This can help combat insomnia while at the same time, improve the quality of your sleep. Snake Plant. Also referred to as Mother-in-Law’s Tongue, this plant is a great indoor plant to place in your bedroom as it emits more oxygen at night while absorbing the carbon dioxide that you exhale. The Peace Lily is also a good choice when it comes to improving your sleep because it can filter out harmful toxins such as benzene, formaldehyde, and trichloroethylene. Another plus to this plant is that it can increase the room’s humidity up to 5% at least which can eradicate any airborne toxins. Just place the Peace Lily in a nice shady area of your bedroom and far from the reach of your pets plus watering it every week will keep this plant and you happy. Golden Pothos. Its heart-shaped leaves are worth including in your list of bedroom plants to consider as it is not that difficult to raise. As a matter of fact, even with your busy schedule, you’ll find that the Golden Pothos can actually thrive on its own. All that it needs is enough morning sunshine and adequate amounts of water and you’ll reap its benefits in no time.

body![Beauty-Secrets-Greeks.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmRAdUpHG9xsQP77APbATrbbo5zSKLLeaBBZVQwj42nZCX/Beauty-Secrets-Greeks.jpg) The beauty secrets of the Greeks are worth taking a closer look especially when you see how amazing their skin looks like. Flawless, youthful looking, and glowing are just a few adjectives that can be attributed to their skin which, if you learn about their beauty secrets, are not that hard to achieve. If you want to improve your skin’s overall health, you can learn a thing or two from the Greeks. As a matter of fact, here are some of their secrets that are worth trying out. Healthy food. The Greeks have gorgeous looking skin because they tend to follow a healthy diet. Consider a combination of fresh fruits, vegetables, lean meat, seafood, and other essential ingredients that are packed with protein, iron, zinc, vitamins, minerals, as well as fatty acids that are known to improve collagen production, fight off inflammation, and treat skin issues. Starting your quest for beautiful skin with the right choice of foods seems to yield impressive results. Honey. Greeks rely on honey when it comes to treating skin inflammation and irritation because of its natural healing properties. Honey also has antibacterial properties which can combat bacterial growth that triggers redness and itching. You can either apply it on your skin as is or mix it with some milk to soothe and repair your skin. Either way, you’ll still get smoother and healthier looking skin afterwards. Olive oil. Olive oil is another beauty secret that you can get from the Greeks that will work wonders on your hair and skin. If you need to repair your damaged hair, it is a good idea to apply some of this oil on your hair and scalp. On the other hand, if your skin appears dry and dull the best way to moisturize it is to apply some olive oil directly on your skin. You can exfoliate your skin the same way but add some seasalt into the mixture then gently scrub your skin with it. Sea salt. Exfoliating your skin must be done at least once or twice a month to help rejuvenate your skin. It’s true that there are many exfoliating products to choose from but using sea salt is a good choice nonetheless. For one thing, it is a natural exfoliant especially when you mix it with some water or olive oil to remove any dirt, oil, or makeup products on your skin. You can also use it to get rid of cellulite forming on your legs too by rubbing your legs in a circular motion. Yogurt. Yogurt is good for your digestion but did you know that you can use it on your skin as well? Yogurt is perfect for nourishing, moisturizing, and soothing your skin so you won’t have to deal with inflammation, redness, and itching. You can combine it with some honey or other ingredients to help improve your skin’s condition.

title7 Healthy Snacks that can Ward of Anxiety
body![618_348_seven-supplements-to-take-for-optimal-health-maca-root.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmbMZtpYBCsXJctv5bzg28J3WHGeLiJQ9TDd4fYLtkvLwR/618_348_seven-supplements-to-take-for-optimal-health-maca-root.jpg) Diet leads to so the vast majority of our diseases or health, many foods are proven to improve mood and calm anxiety levels and are delicious and nutritious. A truly healthy diet is an interesting and tasty one and the wrong choices of food can definitely lead to more stress and irritable moods. We will discuss some examples of healthy food items and a quick review of their benefits along with pointers on what foods to avoid. It takes more than knowing how to eat but to take the effort in developing that discipline yourself is what will make you shoot for the stars. Being fit and healthy is one of the best, most accomplished feelings ever and you did it all by yourself, for yourself. It is nearly just as important to avoid bad foods as knowing what’s good for your mind and body. Even the healthiest adults can feel ill and regretful fast with a sudden binge of mood and metabolism altering junk foods, sugar, preservative chemicals, excessive bad fats and excess in general. Coffee, especially when black and plain is known to be healthy in regulated amounts but is touchy for people with panic attacks, for people with general anxiety coffee is usually fine and can even help. Perhaps a decaf for the coffee lovers with fragile nerves or even try green tea, or spiced black tea Whole Grain Whole grain may sound plain but it packs magnesium a trace chemical that helps take care of stress, anxiety, overall body system health such as the heart, bone strength and immune system buildup. Tryptophan is present and converts itself to serotonin the happiness hormone, an important neurotransmitter. They fill you up with low calories and full nutrition easing junk binges. Don’t forget your grains; it’s difficult to find this ingredient when eating out a lot of the time. Making your own wheat bread is more delicious though and gives your arms a workout. Seaweed Just like whole grains it packs nutrients and contains a lot of magnesium, kelp and other seaweeds have a high tryptophan value too. It’s like the whole grain of the sea and great for gluten allergies or sensitivity. Try these in salads. Blueberries The plant nutrients and antioxidants in blueberries are packed and highly recommended by health experts, another well known stress reliever especially due to its rich purplish-blue pigment and unmistakable deep taste. Peaches may also belong with blueberries in the sense that they have a natural sedative effect and directly benefit the brain and nervous system. Acai Berries One of the newest trending super foods that are tangy and very red berry tasting like nature’s candy, sought after by many for its energizing and complete health benefits and refreshing taste. Eating more of these super foods combined with a workout regimen will fight cancer and flab! Almonds Almonds contain zinc and iron, vital trace metals crucial for organ health and function therefore directly affects are moods when these minerals fluctuate. They contain essential oils or healthy fats which we need or else we’d wither away, all these nut proteins, fats and minerals fight fatigue and improve brain function. Nut milks are great for heavier workouts especially for vegans. Chocolate Chocolate helps us produce dopamine and is always a popular choice in self-comforting or included in romantic dates as a popular snack choice. Vegan-friendly and without the milk or sugar is an acquired intense taste has been known to fight stress down to a chemical level. It reduces cortisol, the stress hormone. Chocolate is only seen to be junk food from added ingredients and preservative, in purer forms such as cocoa beans or unsweetened powders they go great in savory stews like in beef, chicken, pork or savory sauces. Maca Root Not the most well-known ingredient on this list but feel free to research for a substitute by finding a food item or group of food items with similar benefits and nutritional value. The powdered form can be found in some groceries and added to food. This is a super food proven to be very effective as an aphrodisiac as well helping in the production and function of our sex hormones, now don’t you think that’s a great stress reliever? It even assists with the formation of tissues, bones and blood clotting, metabolism boost and absorption of calcium which are usually stuck in deposits. Great for higher energy levels, believed to contain more phytonutrients than other plant sources, contains magnesium and zinc too. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. And I mean water, sorry non-water fans, even if you’re healthy you have to make the effort of at least getting in 6 glasses of water a day even if you drink all natural fruit juices and other healthy beverages. Dehydration can also lead to something as alarming as a stroke so don’t forget to gulp down before going about your day or bringing a bottle with you. B vitamins, iron, zinc and magnesium are good supplements to have for the anxiety ridden as well but nothing beats a lean, mean and green diet packed with vitamins, minerals, fatty acids, fiber and some exercise thrown in there. Understand where your source of stress comes from and you can formulate a healthy diet with clarity of mind. A healthy lifestyle leads to a healthy body and mind, improve yourself through better choices. Do what’s best for you, the hard way is usually the right way, you, your loved ones and your dreams will thank you for living longer and stronger.

titleHow Much Hair Product Do I Need
body![products-collage.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmYHxRT2Ez7rQ5qwyR7qrY9qT52fNV9UvShgVG4NLxBREN/products-collage.jpg) So, you’ve bought a new product to help style your hair. You replaced your old one because it wasn’t doing what it’s supposed to do. However, have you ever considered that maybe the reason why your hair products aren’t working is because you don’t know the right amount of product to use? Have you ever wondered how much of each product you’re supposed to use and how to apply them? Is the direction on container the right amount for my hair length and thickness? There are a lot of hair products on the market. From shampoo, conditioners, mousse, gels and so on. Get to know the right amount and application of these products can help you get the results you want. Below is a quick guide to help you get the gist amount of each product. Mousse One of the hardest product to get perfectly right is mousse. Applying too much product can your hair look oily or wet, not enough product will not give you the desired effect. It’s important to spread the product evenly. The best way to do this is to section your hair into 8 sections. Look in the direction if it requires damp or dry hair. Put a spoonful amount on your hand and massage it together. Spread the product from the roots to ends. Massage it on each section and brush it out. Style as you want! Serum Serums are great for making the hair look shiny and healthy, but too much of it can make the hair look greasy and limp. The amount you apply on your hair should depend on your hair. If you have fine hair use half a pump and spread it from the ends first, use the least amount of products on your roots. This will prevent your hair from going limp. If you have medium to th ick hair, a pump is enough. Dry Shampoo If you’re using dry shampoo to add volume to your hair, then flip your hair over and just apply it all over your strands. Massage it a little and flip your head back. If you’re using it to remove the grease or oil in your hair, focus on the roots. Section your hair inch section from ear to ear. Apply the dry shampoo an inch away from the roots and massage it on the scalp. Continue this un til you’ve applied every section of the scalp. Salt Spray Apply salt spray on damp hair and flip your hair upside down. Mist the product all over your hair and scrunch it up in your hands. Continue scrunching your hair un til it completely dries. If you want to get the Bedhead appearance, apply it on dry hair. Apply the product all over and use a diffuser to add the texture to your hair. If you don ’ t have a diffuser, scrunch up your hair while you blow dry it. Hair Spray If you don ’ t want to get that rock hard hairstyle, then apply the product more evenl y. Apply the hair spray one foot away from your hair and use a windshield wiper motion. Don ’ t direct the hair spray in one section too long. This will make it to firm to style. If yo u accidentally apply too much product on one section, take a smoothing brush and start brushing it out while it is still wet. Prevent getting shiny and crunchy hair with this method. Dry Texture Spray Never apply this product on your roots. Apply it all over your ends and mid shaft. Ruffle your hair and use your fingers to spread the product more evenly. Wax Wax or pomade is better for short hair and curly texture. When you have short h air, take a dime size and rub it in your hands for a few seconds. Use swift motion to utilize specific sections of your hair to style. When applying to curly hair, rub the product together until it ’ s warm and spread it around your hair. Twist section on your fingers to style. One of the biggest mistakes we make when it comes to applying hair pr oducts is the amount used. We hope that this simple list was able to help you determine the ri ght amount for each product and teach you about the proper application method. If you ’ re still not getting the result you want, check out other products, especially ones that are designed for your hair type. Source:

Is the direction on container the right amount for my hair length and thickness? There are a lot of hair products on the market. From shampoo, conditioners, mousse, gels and so on. Get to know the right\namount and application of these products can help you get the results you want. Below is a quick guide to help you get the gist amount of each product.\nMousse\nOne of the hardest product to get perfectly right is mousse. Applying too much product can your hair look oily or wet, not enough product will not give you the desired effect. It’s important to spread the product evenly. The best way to do this is to section your hair into 8 sections. Look in the direction if it requires damp or dry hair. Put a spoonful amount on your hand and massage it\ntogether. Spread the product from the roots to ends. Massage it on each section and brush it out. Style as you want!\nSerum\nSerums are great for making the hair look shiny and healthy, but too much of it can make the hair look greasy and limp. The amount you apply on your hair should depend on your hair. If you have fine hair use half a pump and spread it from the ends first, use the least amount of products on your roots. This will prevent your hair from going limp. If you have medium to th ick hair, a pump is enough.\nDry Shampoo\nIf you’re using dry shampoo to add volume to your hair, then flip your hair over and just apply it all over your strands. Massage it a little and flip your head back. If you’re using it to remove the grease or oil in your hair, focus on the roots. Section your hair inch section from ear to ear. Apply the dry shampoo an inch away from the roots and massage it on the scalp. Continue this un\n\n \n\n \ntil you’ve applied every section of the scalp.\nSalt Spray\nApply salt spray on damp hair and flip your hair upside down. Mist the\nproduct all over your hair and\nscrunch it up in your hands. Continue scrunching your hair un\ntil it completely dries. If you want to get\nthe Bedhead appearance, apply it on dry hair. Apply the product all over\nand use a diffuser to add the\ntexture to your hair. If you don\n’\nt have a diffuser, scrunch up your hair while you blow dry it.\nHair Spray\nIf you don\n’\nt want to get that rock hard hairstyle, then apply the product more evenl\ny. Apply the hair\nspray one foot away from your hair and use a windshield wiper motion. Don\n’\nt direct the hair spray in\none section too long. This will make it to firm to style. If yo\nu accidentally apply too much product on one\nsection, take a smoothing brush and start brushing it out while it is\nstill wet. Prevent getting shiny and\ncrunchy hair with this method.\nDry Texture Spray\nNever apply this product on your roots. Apply it all over your\nends and mid shaft. Ruffle your hair and\nuse your fingers to spread the product more evenly.\nWax\nWax or pomade is better for short hair and curly texture. When you have short h\nair, take a dime size and\nrub it in your hands for a few seconds. Use swift motion to utilize\nspecific sections of your hair to style.\nWhen applying to curly hair, rub the product together until it\n’\ns warm and spread it around your hair.\nTwist section on your fingers to style.\nOne of the biggest mistakes we make when it comes to applying hair pr\noducts is the amount used. We\nhope that this simple list was able to help you determine the ri\nght amount for each product and teach\nyou about the proper application method. If you\n’\nre still not getting the result you want, check out other\nproducts, especially ones that are designed for your hair type.\nSource:",

titleFood Guide for Sugar Free Detox
body![Guide-Sugar-Detox.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmQrUkzWy3mwcLhWrxNgzWPhfTsszqFnnXxiC5XxZgkT6p/Guide-Sugar-Detox.jpg) Sugar is one of the reasons why we feel sluggish at times as it wreaks havoc to our energy levels. It is one of the causes of fine lines appearing on our face, making us feel bloated, and having the need for an extra cup of coffee sometime in the afternoon. With that being said, ditching sugar from our diet is going to be tough especially when we have our sweet tooth to contend with. Another problem to consider is determining which foods don’t belong to your sugar-free diet. If you are planning on switching to a sugar-free diet, try this food guide to help you out. Foods to Eat Whole grains Since you are trying to reduce your sugar intake, then you might want to stay away from simple carbs that can actually elevate your sugar levels. Swapping whole grains like brown rice, millet, buckwheat, farro, sorghum, wild rice, quinoa, barley, and amaranth are good options to consider if you want to reduce your carb intake. Fiber Fiber rich foods should be added to your no-sugar diet as it helps keep your digestive functioning well. What’s even better is that fiber can actually flush out toxins from your body so that you will be able to feel lighter and less prone to bloating. Seafood When it comes to following a no-sugar diet, you can have more seafood as they are rich in zinc and omega-3 essential fatty acids. There is no shortage of options too as there are salmon, sardines, catfish, trout, arctic char, shrimp, tilapia, and crab just to name a few. Vegetables Another food to add to your no-sugar diet is vegetables. The whole lot of them. Think kale, spinach, beets, sweet potato, cauliflower, celery, swiss chard, and lettuce just to name a few. What’s great about these foods is that they are rich in vitamins and minerals which can have some amazing benefits to your overall health. Foods to Avoid Refined flours Since you are trying to remove sugar in your diet, you should avoid eating foods that contained refined flours such as pretzels, cookies, brownies, white bread, bagels, and cakes. This is because the refined flours can actually increase your sugar levels considerably. Artificial sweeteners If you think you have removed sweets already from your diet by ditching the cakes and candies, think again. Check your artificial sweeteners especially those that contain aspartame, sucralose, saccharin, and neo-tame as they are high sugar content. Adding these to your drinks can actually be dangerous to you in the long run. Dried fruit Eating fruits is all well and good but you still need to take caution with the amount that you are eating since they can also have high sugar content. Dried fruits are also high in sugar such as dates and raisins so make sure that you reduce your intake of them as much as possible if you can’t avoid them entirely. Condiments You may be surprised to find that some condiments are also high in sugar content. Among these are balsamic vinegar, dressings, and marinades. If you want to be able to reduce your sugar, try watching out for these kinds of condiments. Try to minimize your usage or make your own so you will be able to prevent your sugar levels from going up. These are just a few things that you should add and avoid from your diet if you want to go sugar-free. Although it will take a while to get used to it, you might find that switching to a healthier, sugar-free diet, is going to be good for you in the long run.

titleDiet Why you Should Eat More Avocados
body![eat-more-avocados.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmV2DATSF1p3h4QjepesSRhvZRMw87Labj53ks8m6gzkek/eat-more-avocados.jpg) A very rich, fatty and savory fruit that is wonderful in both savory and sweet dishes. They are simply awesome for being delicious while being sooo healthy. They are guilt-free 100% especially if you exercise and not overdo other rich foods. Its benefits are incredible and are in the superfood zone. They are versatile and take seasoning, spices, citrus and sugar well. Besides the obvious Central American approach to preparing this fruit you can also simply just slice em up sprinkled with salt or sugar. You can make dips out just like guacamole, puree them with oil, seasoning and a bit of garlic to put on flat bread or tacos. They go well with crispy bacon too. In dessert world they are popular especially with vegans since they replace butter and other fats very well. You can also mix them up with milk and sugar, chill or freeze them, maybe with a bit of mint, something kids may like. Here is a quick nutritional profile on avocado fruit: 240 calories a cup of avocado flesh, so that is roughly a whole avocado or half a big fruit. Do not fear the calories, counting calories alone is a major fallacy. You must look at the source of your food, its quality, how nutrient-packed it is. Eating as little as possible with no or very little fat is horrible for you. Monosaturated fats are good fat, even if this fruit is mostly fat you can burn it very easily. It is filling and prevents or shrinks the craving for unhealthy fats or sugars. It is an ideal workout fuel snack too, but better if you eat more of it after the workout. A cup of avocado has around 42% RDA of pantothenic acid, also known as Vitamin B5. Avocados are one of the top-notchers when it comes to B5 levels. This vitamin is very important for basic life function holding many keys to maintenance, immunity, hormonal control and other basic functions. Other foods high in pantothenic acid are peas, lentils, chicken, sweet potatoes, turkey, brocoli and yogurt. Without this nutrient you will be unable to access and properly absorb your protein, fats and carbohydrates. A cup of avocados have around 53% RDA of vitamin K. Vitamin K is a group of vitamins with similar structures that play a crucial role in blood coagulation, without Vitamin K we would bleed uncontrollably. 41% RDA of folate or Vitamin B9. A lack of this causes fatigue, a lack of vitality. It aids in metabolism, nucleic acid processes and amino acid activity. 19% copper and 28% potassium. Both important for basic skeletal, muscular, circulatory health and immune functions. 33% vitamin C for an immune boost and 21% vitamin E for your skin health. And lastly 26% RDA for vitamin B6 which produces serotonin and norepinephrine. Very important for mood stability, overall good mental health and immunity. B6 also helps form a protein layer to form around nerves called myelin. A deficiency can cause bad skin, stress, tendencies into depressive states, duller hair, lowered immunity and weaker nerves. These oversized, savory berries are perfect for efficiently allowing your body to absorb more nutrients. People can take and take good quality supplements but never truly access the reservoirs in their bodies or they just go straight through you. To access nutrients better you must eat different kinds of vegetables and fruits, oh and exercise, don’t forget exercise. They are full of pure, clean energy in the form of guilt-free plant fat and are anti-inflammatory too which is great for infections, stomach problems or generally sick people. They help manage high blood pressure, cholesterol and sugar levels. Good for diabetics. They also improve eye health and even help our bodies further absorb beta-carotene. Avocados are for your overall health. Bones, muscles, nerves, digestion, hormone balance, mood balance and skin, hair and nail quality. It is so nutritionally prolific that it is cancer-fighting too. Avoiding processed sugar, processed fat, high sodium foods, junk and fast foods with the introduction of vegetables is sure to prevent all kinds of cancers. Try an avocado a day or every other day instead of chips or cake. Oh and how to store leftover avocado flesh? Do not throw away the seed first of all. It is one of the 3 crucial ingredients to preserve it. Take some lemon or lime and squeeze juice over avocado pulp to avoid browning, then a healthy swig of olive oil to preserve it, place the seed in the center then cover and store in the fridge.

body![Omelette-Benefits-recipe.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmePcYJ4fCqsYhFMpj6XXxvHoryceTe9Hea8MV5UjAg8pX/Omelette-Benefits-recipe.jpg) Omelette is one of the commonly served food choices for breakfast, along with bread, bacon, and fruit juice. Made up of egg and vegetables like onions and tomatoes, omelette contains vitamins and minerals that make it one of the nutritious food options for breakfast. The following are some health benefits of omelette, along with a sample recipe. Health Benefits Weight Loss One benefit of omelettes is weight loss. According to Live Strong, this is supported by a study published in the “European Journal of Nutrition” in 2013, which found that eating eggs on toast for breakfast allowed increased stomach filling and reduced caloric intake throughout the day, as compared to intake of cornflakes with milk and toast or croissant and orange juice. Cardiovascular Health While some people say that eating eggs frequently is not that healthy, it may be debunked by the information from Quora. As per the publication, free range hens lay eggs that are a third lower in cholesterol and lower in saturated fat. This means a reduced risk in developing cardiovascular disorders like hypertension, coronary artery disease, and cerebrovascular accident or stroke. Some eggs are also rich in vitamins and omega 3 fatty acids, which are beneficial to cardiovascular function. Protein and Anti-Inflammatory Properties Egg is rich in protein and to add, omelette may have cheese and tomatoes. Cheese is another protein-rich ingredient, which helps in cellular and tissue growth, repair, and recovery. To add, as per Health Ambition, omelettes also contain tomatoes, which have anti-inflammatory properties, preventing autoimmune conditions like Hashimoto’s disease and cystic fibrosis. To add, tomatoes have lycopene, which helps strengthen the body’s immune system and help get rid of diseases like cancer. Vitamin Rich Omelette is rich in vitamins. A

titleEgg Whites or Egg Yolks Which Is Healthier
body![egg-table-.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmd45dYzwKuGSm1BPBazsNsFVZJEutBjnEUpozfT1J4USG/egg-table-.jpg) The debate whether the chicken or egg came first has been going on for centuries but for various nutritional experts (and also those who are careful about their diet), the bigger question goes: Which is healthier, the egg white or the egg yolk? Eggs are a staple in dining tables in homes all over the world as they are cheap and at the same time, a great source of protein. But eggs are also scrutinized by some research groups for their supposed high cholesterol content. Most of eggs’ cholesterol is found in the yolk though studies have also shown this cholesterol is not really associated with the onset of heart attack or stroke. Egg whites, meanwhile, though with less fat and cholesterol, does not have as much vitamins and minerals. Let us take a comparative look at both. Calorie Egg White: 17 Calories Egg Yolk: 55 Calories The American Heart Association has previously released a report urging adults to only ingest a total of 300 calories per day. Both the egg white and the egg yolk are well below the recommended amount but if you are really conscious with your food intake, you might want to stick to egg white. WINNER: EGG WHITE Fat Egg White: 0 grams Egg Yolk: 4.5 grams You might think that egg white is better because it is fat-free but the saturated fat in egg yolk is actually essential for the production of hormones and absorption of vitamins and minerals. WINNER: EGG YOLK Vitamins Egg White: Vitamin E (0 mg), Vitamin D (o IU), Vitamin K (0 IU), Vitamin B12 (0.03 mcg) Egg Yolk: Vitamin E (0.684 mg), Vitamin D (18.3 IU), Vitamin K (0 IU), Vitamin B12 (0.331 mcg) A big bulk of the vitamins found in egg is in the yolk though the egg whites have more of the B vitamins thiamin and riboflavin. WINNER: EGG YOLK Minerals Egg White: Calcium (2.3 mg), Magnesium (3.6 mg), Iron (0.03 mg), Phosphorus (5 mg), Potassium (53.8 mg), Zinc (0.01 mg) Egg Yolk: Calcium (21.9 mg), Magnesium (0.85 mg), Iron (0.4 mg), Phosphorus (66.3 mg), Potassium (18.5 mg), Zinc (0.4 mg) The battle here is much more competitive that in the vitamins section but egg yolk ultimately wins because of the multitude of minerals found in it. WINNER: EGG YOLK Protein Egg White: 4 grams Egg Yolk: 2.7 grams WINNER: EGG WHITE Cholesterol Egg White: 0 mg Egg Yolk: 210 mg Recent studies, however, have argued that the cholesterol in eggs are of negligible amount and does not have as much effect on the body as previously thought. WINNER: EGG WHITE Final Results: 3 all It is a tie between both the egg whites and egg yolks. Not only does this mean that they are both important but also that you will miss a lot of nutrients by eating one over the other.

titleWHAT TO LOOK FOR IN FOOD LABELS
body![Food-Labels-The-Ticket-to-Healthy-Eating-722x406.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmdYg6pJ3DC5tuC2CDaeqNkWqiGibJCwZcmPQKtqsVFu9J/Food-Labels-The-Ticket-to-Healthy-Eating-722x406.jpg) Let’s see…do you check out the food label and nutrition list of a product that you buy in a supermarket or convenience or drug store? If so, do you do it on a frequent basis? If your answer to both questions is yes, then you’re doing the right thing when it comes to your health. Studies show that those who check out the food label and nutrition list of the products they purchase only consume halfthe calories from fat compared to people who neglect the labels and lists. Even if this is true, reading everything on a label or list every single time is unnecessary. What you should look at depends on your health goals. If you become physically stronger, or if you want weight loss, or you want a healthier heart, you can check out just the key pieces on a nutrition label. Here are the things you should be looking out for, categorized by objective. For Strength Gains Look for whole grains. Look at the list. There should be “whole” prior to words like wheat, corn, rye and rice. Millets, amaranths, quinoas and oats are also considered to be whole grains as well. These types of grain maintain the levels of energy by keeping the stability of sugar levels in the blood. Carbs that are refined and processed like sugar and flour can lead to sudden increased, and subsequent decreases in blood sugar. This leaves one vulnerable to crashing. If you are after strength and energy gains, it is recommended that you consume an ounce of whole grains a day. You should also search for iron on the nutrition list. The recommended amount is 1.8 milligrams or higher for each portion. Iron is needed to provide your body (especially your cells) with oxygen. This prevents exhaustion according to experts. If you’re staying away from red meat (which is a healthy practice), you should look for products that have ample amounts of iron. The recommended consumption for iron is 18 milligrams for people who are below fifty, and eight milligrams for people above fifty. For memory preservation You should be searching for Omega-3 fatty acids. They are mostly on the package itself, as the products are usually advertised having them. Cereals, eggs and juices are among the products that contain these fatty acids. Though you may see them being advertised on the front part of the product, you probably won’t see how much the product contains on the nutrition list. But some packages state the amount at the front part. Research showed that adults who consumed omega-3 from a single fish meal weekly had a reduced likelihood of developing Alzheimer’s by sixty percent compared to adults who don’t eat fish. A thousand milligrams of omega-3 is considered a decent amount for your everyday needs. Also take a gander at total fat. If three-fourths is poly and/or monounsaturated fat, then it’s good. So for example, if the product has around ten grams of total fat, a good number of unsaturated fat would be around seven to eight grams. Products that have a lot of these kinds of fat, like oil and margarine, have all the numbers on their nutrition lists. You just have to do a bit of minor computations to estimate the amount of these fats. Again, three-fourths of the total fat is the acceptable amount. But if the nutrition list only shows saturated and trans fat, minus both from the amount of total fat to get the amount of unsaturated fat. It may be well worth it since studies suggested that unsaturated fat helps protect an individual from Alzheimer’s. In one of the studies, it showed that those who consumed products with around twenty-four grams of monounsaturated fat daily were eighty percent less likely to get Alzheimer’s than those who only consumed fifteen grams. Other advantages of the consumption of unsaturated fats is lower cholesterol levels and maintenance of the well-being of the brain. For weight loss If you’re looking to lose excess poundage, then there’s one thing above all other that you should be looking at – calories, or the caloric content or the calorie count. If you consume five hundred calories less daily, that roughly translates to losing a pound a week. So search for products that have low calorie counts. However, if a person finds him or herself staring at a small box of prunes that says it contains 160 calories, how will he or she know if the calorie count is too high or too low? The technique is simple. Compare. Look at other products along the same row or in the same aisle. Keep in mind how big the portions are relative to the calorie count. You should also consider the number of servings for each product. A lot of soups contain only two for every can. Compute for double the calories if you consume a whole can of soup in a single meal. For drinks, it’s the same principle. Around 1,350 calories daily if you’re of average size and you don’t lead an active lifestyle. But if you work out and do a lot of physical training, 1,800 calories daily (maximum) should suffice. Take a peek at fiber. Three of five grams for each serving. Products that contain ample amounts of fiber keep you lean. They have a lot less calories and they take longer to digest, so you feel you’re running on a full stomach for a lengthier period. In a recent research, it was discovered that participants who had fourteen more grams of fiber in their food more than twice a week shed a pound in thirty days. The recommended amount of fiber is twenty-five grams per day. For stronger bones People who want to have stronger bones should look up calcium in the nutritional lists. There should be around two to three hundred milligrams for every serving. Incorporating products with a lot of calcium into your meals is better than being dependent on supplements, according to some experts. With protein and magnesium and other helpful minerals and nutrients in your system, it can improve your body’s absorption of calcium. For women who have gone through menopause, it was discovered that those who had calcium in their food had denser bones than those who just take calcium supplements. A thousand milligrams of calcium per day for those ages fifty and below, while one thousand two hundred milligrams for those ages fifty and above. Take a quick look to see if there is at least ten percent of vitamin D (daily value) for each serving. Usually, the food with vitamin D, like milk and cereal and orange juice, show it in their nutritional lists. But vitamin D is also contained in salmons, sardines and whole eggs. Vitamin D also aids in the movement of calcium in the body. Vitamin D helps the body take in more than ten percent of calcium consumed.

titleDiet What is the Mind Diet
body![What-Mind-Diet.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmXY62eMKKbjqESJi9vXPxjz1CF7owuEqpLkcbvGqbQUkJ/What-Mind-Diet.jpg) SHARES 0 Going on a diet is probably on top of your mind now that the New Year has come. It might be that you just want to feel healthier or you want to start taking your weight loss seriously. Whatever your reason may be, finding the right diet can be tougher than it looks. One diet program that is making some waves in the health and wellness industry is the MIND diet which is somewhat similar to that of the Mediterranean and even the DASH diet that we know so well. What Goes on in the Mind Diet? This diet program focuses on 10 foods that support brain health. These are mostly leafy greens, nuts, beans, fish, olive oil, vegetables, berries, whole grains, poultry, and of course, wine. You will need to reduce your intake of red meat, cheese, sweets, fast food, butter, pastries, and margarine just to name a few. What’s great about this program is that it provides you with a healthy combination of omega-3s, which are good for the brain and heart, lean protein, for building muscles, fiber to fill your belly up, and antioxidants that can get rid of the free radicals that are causing cell damage. Since you are limiting your intake of sugar, trans and saturated fats, you are reducing the inflammation that is going inside your body. This is a huge factor in reducing the onset of dementia as you age. Guidelines to Consider in Mind Diet So how does the MIND diet work? Well, the good thing about the MIND Diet is that you have the freedom to eat anything under the sun as long as it is in moderation. Even if you don’t manage to follow the guidelines of this diet, you will still see a lot of improvement in terms of weight and reduction of risk in both heart and brain problems. If this is your first time to follow the MIND diet, here are a few tips for you to consider. Have three servings of whole grains Whole grains contain carbohydrates that your body needs for energy purposes. Since whole grains have complex carbs, they release energy in a steady stream that will help you stay alert and focused throughout the day. One serving a nut per day Nuts are rich in fatty acids and proteins that are actually good for your heart and mind. The omega-3 fatty acids present in nuts can protect you against inflammation while the proteins support muscle development. Salad and another vegetable daily Another tip to follow when you are using the MIND diet is that you should have a salad and another vegetable as part of your daily diet. The salad can be something simple as steamed cauliflowers and broccoli, or a combination of different vegetables if you like. Aside from this, you should have another serving of vegetable to increase your intake of nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, as well as antioxidants that can support a healthy body and mind. Serve fish once a week You will also need to incorporate fish as part of your weekly diet because it is one of the best sources of zinc and omega-3 fatty acids that your body needs to protect itself against inflammation. Inflammation can lead to various health problems such as poor heart health and even slow brain function. Have a glass of wine per day Red wine has found to be good for your heart’s health as long as you drink in moderation. This means having a glass per day. Limiting your consumption can help speed up with metabolism while providing protection to your heart against high blood pressure and other issues.
