      "body": "Quick! What do Joseph Stalin, Kim-Jong Un and American library-goers all have in common? (Hint: It has nothing to do with their hair.) Did you guess? It’s that they all find the Bible more threatening than most other books. Surprised? Don’t be.\n\nEvery single year the Bible is the world’s best-selling book. In fact, it’s the number one best-selling book in history. But recently it made another, less-coveted list: the American Library Association’s “top 10 most-challenged books of 2015.” This means the Bible is among the most frequently requested to be removed from public libraries.\n\nBut what’s so threatening about it? Why could owning one in Stalin’s Russia get you sent to the Gulag, and why is owning one today in North Korea punishable by death? What makes it scarier to some people than anything by Stephen King?\n\nActually, quite a bit. Words and ideas have power, and the words and ideas in the Bible have so much power that a rather recent History Channel documentary titled 101 Objects that Changed the World said the single thing that changed the world more than anything else was the Bible.\n\nBut what ideas in it are so dangerous? We could start with the radical notion that all human beings are created by God in His image, and are equal in His eyes. This means every human being should be accorded equal dignity and respect. If the wrong people read that, trouble will be sure to follow. And some real troublemakers have read it.\n\nOne of them was George Whitefield, who discovered the Bible as a teenager and began preaching the ideas in it all across England. Then he crossed the Atlantic and preached it up and down the thirteen colonies until 80 percent of Americans had heard him in person. They came to see that all authority comes from God, not from any King, and saw it was their right and duty to resist being governed by a tyrant, which led to something we call the American Revolution.\n\nAnother historical troublemaker was the British Parliamentarian William Wilberforce. When he read the Bible, he saw that the African slave trade — which was a great boon to the British economy — was nonetheless evil. He spent decades years trying to stop it. Slave traders threatened to have him killed, but in 1807, he won his battle and the slave trade was abolished throughout the British Empire. In 1833, slavery itself was abolished too.\n\nIn the 20th century, an Indian lawyer named Mohandas Gandhi picked up some ideas from the Bible about non-violent resistance that influenced his views as he led the Indian people to independence. And who could deny the Bible’s impact on the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., who said the Bible led him to choose love and peaceful protest over hatred and violence? He cited the Sermon on the Mount as his inspiration for the Civil Rights movement, and his concept of the “creative suffering,” endured by activists who withstood persecution and police brutality, came from his knowledge of Jesus’ trials and tribulations.\n\nIn fact, the climax of King’s most famous words mirror the promises of the Old Testament prophet Isaiah: “I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, and every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight…” The racists of that day didn’t know what hit them, but again the ideas in the Bible brought dignity and justice to a downtrodden people. They don’t call it “Good News” for nothing.\n\nAnd here’s more good news: in the fall of 2017 a museum dedicated to a scholarly and engaging presentation of the world’s most influential book will open two blocks from the National Mall in Washington. Putting so much truth that close to power will scare some folks, but the rest of us should be thrilled.\n\nIn the meantime — unless you’re scared — you might put the Bible on another list: your personal reading list. Find out why it scares the pantaloons off tyrants and dictators but has inspired others to change the world. It’s truly fascinating. Norma Heath chose to defy the odds.\nA rough child hood led into depression and by the tender age of 12 Norma began using drugs. “My drug of choice was crack cocaine and marijuana. And everything that came with it: the lying, the stealing, the prostitution, I did it.” Her lifestyle led to her homelessness.\n\nSo how is now on her way to becoming a Harvard University graduate.\n\nA women’s shelter, Rosie’s Place, changed Norma’s life. At Rosie’s Place she learned about the importance of goal setting. Setting goals and then working toward achieving them no matter how big or small that may be helped shape her mindset. Rosie’s Place required Norma write weekly goals. Her small goals and achievements increased her confidence which lead her to Harvard.\n\nNorma is graduating with her Psychology degree from Harvard University. Amazon stock opened up 1.6% on Thursday, adding $1.4 billion to Bezos’ net worth. That was enough to put him ahead of Gates, who was last surpassed on Forbes’ real-time rankings for just two days nearly a year ago by Spanish retail giant Amancio Ortega.\n\nForbes started tracking billionaires around the globe in 1987. Bezos is now the seventh person to hold the title of the world’s richest person and the third American to top the global ranks besides Gates and Berkshire Hathaway CEO Warren Buffett.\n\nWhile Gates and Buffett both appeared on Forbes’ first ranking of America’s 400 Richest people in 1982, Bezos is a newer addition to Forbes’ wealth rankings. He first appeared on the Forbes 400 in 1998, a year after Amazon went public, with a $1.6 billion fortune. Bezos ranked third richest in the world on Forbes 2017 list of the World’s Billionaires, published in March, with a fortune of $72.8 billion.\n\nBezos would be nowhere close to being the world’s wealthiest person had Gates not given so much of his fortune to philanthropy. Currently, we employ 56,000 people,” he said.\n\nStarting was however not any rosy for Ma. He found it hard selling his idea to anyone, as they never believed the internet would be welcomed in China, where even telephones were not so common.\n\nWith optimism however, he never gave up, and saw those shortcomings in his country as a launch pad for his success.\n\nAfter starting the online platform, he and his fellow founders struggled to find any clients.\n\n“We listed products on our website, but nobody bought them for weeks so we had to buy them among ourselves,” Ma said, getting the crowd laughing.\n\nStill, he never gave up until his efforts were recognized and people and companies started selling their products on the platform.\n\nCurrently, Alibaba delivers over 65 million packages each day.\n\nMa noted that the future of commerce is in the internet, and that all youth should embrace the technology.\n\n \n\nKenya recently becomes the third most innovative sub saharan African country and I believe its innovative ideas will start materialising. Even the Chinese Billionaire realised this and mentioned it when he said  Kenya can create more opportunities for trade through the use of e-commerce and that the country has the capacity to achieve that goal.\n\nThis made the business mogul to take a step  further by inviting 200 African young entrepreneurs to work at Alibaba headquarters with the aim of gaining experience in fields including; e-commerce, Artificial intelligence and Internet.\n\n“They will come back to Africa to develop their business and help others grow their businesses,” Jack said.\n\nHis visit was organized in collaboration with UNCTAD, with its Secretary General Dr. Mukhisa Kituyi accompanying him to Nairobi.\n\n38 Male and female billionaires from the Beijing Chamber of commerce accompanied Jack Ma on this trip.
