titleThe Adventures of Sammy Rabbit Chapter 2: Sammy goes to Kindergarten
body<div><center><img src='https://s18.postimg.org/tztsn0eh5/9627c4508e3140b2159384b13cfe523a.jpg'/></center><br/><div>It was an ordinary late summer day when Sammy's mother came in to wake him.&nbsp; But to Sammy, the day was not so ordinary. Today was his first day of Kindergarten! He had been looking forward to this day for a long time. It was finally here. Sammy was already dressed in his little blue sweater and was ready to go. He jumped out of bed and ran into the kitchen. His mother had just finished making his lunch. A cabbage sandwich, an apple, and a slice of carrot cake. Carrot cake was his favorite but his mother told him it was only for his lunch. Mother rabbit took Sammy to school and walked him to his classroom. There were many little children there already. He noticed a fox, a hedgehog, a sheep, a chipmunk, and another little rabbit named Lola. Sammy was excited to meet Lola. He had never met another rabbit other than his own siblings before. He said good bye to his mother, put his lunch pale in his cubby marked with his name, and sat down next to the other children.&nbsp;<br><br>Sammy's teacher&nbsp; was a very nice Alpaca named Miss Finnegan. She began, "Good morning, class. Welcome to your first day of Kindergarten!" All of the children were very excited! "This is new to you all, so don't be scared to ask questions if you have them. We're going to start off today with an art project." She had the children pull out paper and crayons from their desks. "Now, I want you all to draw a picture of your favorite thing. When we're all finished, we are going to have a show and tell. This will help us all get to know each other." Sammy was very excited! Coloring was one of his favorite activities! All of the children began drawing their favorite things. Sammy didn't really know what to draw because he had many favorite things. Felix the fox drew a red firetruck. Henry the hedgehog drew a blue tricycle. Sally the sheep drew a doll. Charley the chipmunk drew an acorn. Sammy was going to draw a picture of his blue sweater his mother made for him when he realized his favorite thing was Carrot cake. All of a sudden, he heard a quiet shy voice from behind him. It was Lola. "Um, excuse me Sammy. May I borrow your orange crayon?" Sammy grabbed his orange crayon to give to Lola when he looked down and saw that Lola was drawing the same thing he was...a slice of carrot cake! "You like carrot cake too?" Sammy asked. "Why yes, it is my favorite." Lola replied. Sammy's face turned bright red as he started to giggle. "It is time to share your art work." Miss Finnegan announced. All of the children gathered around the red carpet at the front of the room to share their artwork. All of the children were very happy to share their drawings. Each one of them had a fascinating story to go with the drawing. When it was Sammy's turn to explain his picture, he&nbsp; excitedly jumped up in front of the class to show them his work. As he was talking, he noticed Lola starting right at him! He covered his bright red face with his drawing and started to giggle again. Lola smiled. Sammy had a hard time finishing after that. He wanted to impress Lola.<br><br>"It is time for lunch everyone." Said Miss Finnegan.<br><br>The children all ran to their cubbys to grab their lunch pales. Sammy grabbed his and as he was walking back to his seat, Lola tapped his shoulder. "Sammy would you like to sit next to me?" Sammy nodded his head with excitement. Lola grabbed his hand and they skipped back to the tables. Sammy opened his pale and pulled out his cabbage sandwich, apple, and carrot cake. Lola's eyes got really big when she saw the cake. After all, carrot cake was her favorite thing too. Sammy noticed that she was looking at his cake. "Would you like some of my cake, Lola?" Asked Sammy. "Of course, thank you!" Said Lola. Sammy used his knife to cut the slice in half so they could share. Lola smiled and then giggled. After lunch, it was time for Sammy's favorite time of day...RECESS!<br><br>Miss Finnegan had all the children line up single file so they could walk outside to the playground. Sammy was also kind of nervous because the bigger kids were outside too and he was used to just his siblings. Out side in the play yard there were so many thing to see. Sammy saw kids riding tricycles, some playing tether ball, some were playing on the swings, there was a teeter totter, a marry go round, and he also saw the big jungle gym with a slide attached. Lola looked at Sammy, grabbed his hand, and pulled him over to the swings. They pushed each other for a little while. Then they went to play on the jungle gym. After that, they raced the tricycles as fast as they could back and forth on the black top. Soon after, Lola got tired. "Would you like a piece of bubble gum, Sammy?" Asked Lola. "That would be great, thanks!" Said Sammy, she gave him a piece and they started to chew. Lola looked at Sammy with big eyes and said, "Let's see who can blow the biggest bubble!" Sammy, still chewing, nodded his head. Lola blew the biggest bubble she could. Until it finally popped! Sammy was still working on his bubble. It grew bigger and bigger and bigger. Lola cautioned him not to blow the bubble so big, but Sammy thought that was the entire point of the contest. "Be careful!" Lola cautioned. Sammy ignored her. He was winning, he didn't want to stop. All of a sudden, the wind picked up! At that point, Sammy's bubble was so big the wind swept him right off the ground! He started floating away in the air! Lola was immediately frightened and she yelled, "Miss Finnegan! Miss Finnegan! Sammy is floating away!" Miss Finnegan tried not to panic as she yelled, "Sammy, get back down here this instant!" Of Course, Sammy couldn't hear her and he just kept that bubble tight in his mouth. By this time, he was really high off of the ground and if the bubble popped, he could really be hurt. Next thing you know, the wind changed and Sammy was swooped the other direction! All of a sudden, he slammed right into the top of the flagpole! He was stuck! He was scared to move and scared to pop his bubble. Miss Finnegan called the fire department to come to the rescue. All of the children, by this point, were hovered around the pole staring up at Sammy! After what seemed like forever, the fire department arrived and Sammy was rescued. Once Sammy made it back down to the ground, the children cheered because Sammy was finally safe. Lola ran to Sammy. "Are you okay?" She cried. "Yes, I am okay!" She threw her arms around him and hugged him tight. Sammy smiled as he hugged her back.<br><br>At the end of the day, Sammy's mother came to pick him up from school. "How was your day, Sammy?" She asked. "Just fine." Sammy replied. He decided not to tell his mother about the bubble gum incident. He didn't want to worry her. His mother smiled and said, "Nothing interesting happened?" "No, not really." He said. Sammy didn't know that Miss Finnegan had called his mother to tell her what happened. "Are you sure you don't want to tell me?" "Yes." Sammy said. She began, \"Good morning, class. Welcome to your first day of Kindergarten!\" All of the children were very excited! \"This is new to you all, so don't be scared to ask questions if you have them. We're going to start off today with an art project.\" She had the children pull out paper and crayons from their desks. \"Now, I want you all to draw a picture of your favorite thing. When we're all finished, we are going to have a show and tell. This will help us all get to know each other.\" Sammy was very excited! \"Um, excuse me Sammy. May I borrow your orange crayon?\" Sammy grabbed his orange crayon to give to Lola when he looked down and saw that Lola was drawing the same thing he was...a slice of carrot cake! \"You like carrot cake too?\" Sammy asked. \"Why yes, it is my favorite.\" Lola replied. Sammy's face turned bright red as he started to giggle. \"It is time to share your art work.\" Miss Finnegan announced. He wanted to impress Lola.<br><br>\"It is time for lunch everyone.\" Said Miss Finnegan.<br><br>The children all ran to their cubbys to grab their lunch pales. Sammy grabbed his and as he was walking back to his seat, Lola tapped his shoulder. \"Sammy would you like to sit next to me?\" Sammy nodded his head with excitement. \"Would you like some of my cake, Lola?\" Asked Sammy. \"Of course, thank you!\" Said Lola. \"Would you like a piece of bubble gum, Sammy?\" Asked Lola. \"That would be great, thanks!\" Said Sammy, she gave him a piece and they started to chew. Lola looked at Sammy with big eyes and said, \"Let's see who can blow the biggest bubble!\" Sammy, still chewing, nodded his head. Lola blew the biggest bubble she could. Until it finally popped! Sammy was still working on his bubble. It grew bigger and bigger and bigger. Lola cautioned him not to blow the bubble so big, but Sammy thought that was the entire point of the contest. \"Be careful!\" Lola cautioned. Sammy ignored her. He was winning, he didn't want to stop. All of a sudden, the wind picked up! At that point, Sammy's bubble was so big the wind swept him right off the ground! He started floating away in the air! Lola was immediately frightened and she yelled, \"Miss Finnegan! Miss Finnegan! Sammy is floating away!\" Miss Finnegan tried not to panic as she yelled, \"Sammy, get back down here this instant!\" Of Course, Sammy couldn't hear her and he just kept that bubble tight in his mouth. \"Are you okay?\" She cried. \"Yes, I am okay!\" She threw her arms around him and hugged him tight. Sammy smiled as he hugged her back.<br><br>At the end of the day, Sammy's mother came to pick him up from school. \"How was your day, Sammy?\" She asked. \"Just fine.\" Sammy replied. He decided not to tell his mother about the bubble gum incident. He didn't want to worry her. His mother smiled and said, \"Nothing interesting happened?\" \"No, not really.\" He said. Sammy didn't know that Miss Finnegan had called his mother to tell her what happened. \"Are you sure you don't want to tell me?\" \"Yes.\" Sammy said. Sammy's mother smiled and said, \"Okay, how about we get you home, and you can have a slice of fresh baked carrot cake.\" Sammy nodded in agreement. He was glad to be home.<br><br>It was a long day for Sammy the rabbit. He shared with his fellow students. He made some friends. titleThe Adventures of Sammy Rabbit Chapter 1: Indroduction
body<div><center><img src='undefined'/></center><br/><div>When I was a little girl, my grandmother would entertain us with stories. These stories were always different and always entertaining. Of course they had to be. They were, after all, designed to keep us kids occupied for just 5 more minutes. Let's start from the beginning. When my Grandmother was raising of her children, they lived in San Diego, California. Their home was on a hill with a U shaped driveway. My uncle Mike was around 3 or 4 at the time. He liked to play outside in the driveway with any kind of ball. This particular day he had a basketball. Naturally, the road was right there at the end of the driveway. His runaway ball went down the hill and across the street before stopping in the grass on the other side of the hill. My uncle was concentrating so hard on getting the ball back, that he would head after it full speed ahead. My grandmother darted outside frantically to catch little Michael before he ran into the street. She managed to catch up to him. She knelt down to explain to him how dangerous running out into the street was. In the corner of her eye, she spotted a squished rabbit. I'm sure my Grandmother, as creative as she was, decided to use this poor squished rabbit to teach my young uncle a very important lesson. She said to him, "Oh no, it's Sammy the rabbit! What happened to him? Why is he here in the street? He must have run into the road without looking first for cars! Poor Sammy!" My uncle was devastated as this was his first encounter with a dead rabbit in the road. She saw the effect it had on him and thus the legend of Sammy was born. This particular story teaches how you should be cautious before going in to the road and looking both ways, up and down the street before crossing. Sammy taught my Uncle Mike many other valuable lessons; such as blowing bubbles with bubble gum so big they whisk you up into the air and you float away, what to do when you take trips to the carnival, the park, or other places of entertainment, train and airplane rides, natural disasters, etc. She discovered years later that her grandchildren enjoyed these zany stories as well.&nbsp; The problem was every time she told the stories they would be just a tad different. There are many children and grandchildren in my family. The stories and versions of those stories are endless. But they are entertaining. Let's see what Sammy has to teach us next.</div></div>

bodyYup. You get it. Pick your targets wisely though. One day I was bored, waiting for a bus, I said hello to a stranger and he started yelling at me about how much he hates the New York Yankees. That went on for twenty minutes, I could not get a word in, the bus finally arrived, he was still mad when he sat down, I sat as far away as possible. It still cured my boredom, I won't forget it, but I wanted to be the one who's messing around, not the one who's being messed with.

A coworker and I would answer the phone in different languages. speak in different accents. That was fun bc people would ask where were from which gave us the opportunity to make up an exciting and spirited back story. And sometimes when asking for their phone number I'd say can I get yo digits? In a high voice. some would laugh others would say what? .... Fun

bodyI know why she didn't get the joke. I worked in retail, years ago, and for a long time. You have the same conversations with people everyday, multiple times per day, for years on end. It's a unique experience for each individual customer but the employee is literally going crazy. When you throw something new into the mix, their brains go into hibernation mode. That's why I mess with them. It always turns out to be the highlight of their day, they always go find someone to talk to, I mean, not always but it's quite common. So yeah, LOL. Easy target. Stores are fun. You can startle someone just by saying, "Hello." If you want them to think all day about something say, "Goodbye," instead of, "Hello."

bodyI know this dude is wrong. I don't just think it. Getting noticed is hard, everywhere. In life, online; it's not easy. Our votes pay people. The money comes from a reward pool. The more Steem Power(SP) someone has in their account, the more value they can add to a post or comment. People with entitlement issues complained about the lack of rewards on their posts. They wanted *participation awards* instead of putting in the work and time it takes to build a valuable following. I say *valuable following* because 1000 followers with low SP cannot pay you as much with their votes as 1000 followers with a higher level of SP. Not every follower will vote so keep that in mind. Some people came along and started a rumor, basically. They said, "It's hard to get noticed on Steemit." Of course, those who were not getting noticed agreed with that. They thought it was Steemit's fault and not their own. Remember, getting noticed is hard, everywhere. That's life. Those people who started the rumor also had a solution, but it cost money. Just picture a small town from long ago. A snake oil salesman would show up, get everyone's attention, create a problem, get the people rattled, then offer a solution for a fee and the people would buy it. The next day the snake oil salesman skips town. In many ways, that's what happened to Steemit. People buy votes. That was the so-called solution to the so-called problem of not being able to get noticed. Posts with high rewards beside them can reach the trending page. People buy votes, that makes the system here *THINK* the post is good because of the high value. That's the flaw in the design of the platform that I had mentioned. New members, like you, see this high value and assume the post is being rewarded because it is popular. This is how they purchase their so called visibility. They basically trick people. Many new members(minnows) follow these bloggers and comment on these posts. What these people who buy excessive amounts of votes are actually purchasing is a low value following. If they gain 1000 followers this way, then stopped purchasing votes; even if all 1000 minnows voted for their posts, they might only see about $10-50, if that. You can look around and see many posts with $20-$50 beside them. There's a good chance those rewards were purchased as well. That's not profit for the blogger. What's happening now is people purchase these votes, they think they'll get visibility, but really they just end up blending in with all of the other posts that have that much value beside them. They're not getting the visibility they're paying for, at all. They're paying to "promote" their posts but it doesn't have any effect. Sometimes they'll get a few free votes, they'll earn, but if they don't, they end up losing money even though the post says it's worth $50. That $50 might as well just be the new $0, because that's what it's worth. The ones selling the votes make the money. $1000's per day selling a service that doesn't work. While all of these minnows are distracted by these false rewards and fake heroes like @yallapapi, they end up wasting their votes because they think they're helping a popular blogger. These people want visibility but they're not looking at each other, which would be free and beneficial to one another. To put it bluntly, they're trying to suck up to someone they think has a valuable vote with the hopes these fake heroes will in turn vote for them someday. If @yallapapi voted for you right now, the maximum amount he can allocate to your post or comment is 5 cents. My max vote would give you about $2.25 and maybe a little more or less. Proof of minnows getting sucked in to voting for @yallapapi's posts and the value of his vote can be found here: https://www.steemnow.com/@yallapapi Just click on a few names and you'll see low reputation and low Steem Power(SP) ### You want advice? I don't really know what to tell you anymore. I'm out of character right now. I'm a writer/artist/entertainer and a few other things. What worked for me was; working hard, being patient, slowly building up a valuable following. You can look at my blog, scroll all the way down through hundreds of posts, see the quality and effort along with steady improvement. You can see how I treat people with respect, because I feel they are important and deserve it. I do not treat them like a statistic. I take pride in what I do and embrace the community to the best of my abilities. I don't often come here to blog posts and lose my shit with people but this guy does not know what he's doing and he's attempting to take people down with him. You need to get out and mingle. Get to know people. Support each other. Build roads together. Be patient, don't expect to get rich overnight. Enjoy yourself. Don't just write about things and offer information. People don't follow information, they follow people; so try to add your personality to everything you do. Some people will like you, many more will not. That's life so don't take it personally. I don't know what else to tell you. I don't purchase votes. I work for mine. All that money beside my posts goes to me(except for about 25% which goes to those who voted). I'm consistent and that helps too. You can just expect people to see you though. You have to stand out. If you look at my blog, you can see how I stand out. That still doesn't mean I'll make it to this glorious trending page though. I can do my best, work hard, and all it takes is one asshole with a shit post and poor attitude to buy votes and hog the spotlight. I'll sit there with 200-300 views on a good day. I'll look around and see a post with $50 worth of paid for votes and it only has 5 fucking views... So basically, many of us veterans here see no reason to help these people. That's life.

Even if it takes a while. I like writing and I enjoy it. I don't want to not be seen bc some other yahoo bought his seat at the cool kids table. And I find it LESS encouraging reading on someone's article that my effort to write a nice article is null and void bc I'm not paying to promote it. If you think that this dude is wrong, what can YOU tell me and others in response to it? I mean what do you think I, as a newer writer, should do instead? You seem to think you have a better idea of what to do.

bodyDude this post was STUPID LONG!! You talked about keeping people's interest and entertaining them....I'm not gonna lie I had a hard a time reading all of this. I made it through but still. I like what you said about crap quality. I've seen articles that had like 100 words maybe. The grammar and spelling was atrocious. I like what you're saying but at the same time, I don't think it is necessary to cut people out. I have a niche. I write mainly about that niche. I'm new and yes there is A LOT I can learn from other writers such as yourself but I don't think I would like not making it to the cool kids' page(trending page) just bc someone bought their spot. Doesn't seem fair to me. I like to think the few articles I have written are of good quality, informative and entertaining. I'm open to learning but I don't wanna be hidden away either. I want to connect with people and I want to make new friends and learn new writing styles but not at the cost of my creativity. Which I feel is the most important thing on this platform.

title5 simple stretches to relieve headaches; oils to relieve headaches
body![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmbhLL1jBRbzLby7uxe11uy6ye8BEHhR7GfJXAikTyraDL/image.png) Are you one of those people that regularly suffer from headaches associated with day to day living, or poor postures? Are you looking for relief of your headaches? Did you know that you don't necessarily need medication? In this article, I'm going to share 5 simple stretches that will help alleviate your headaches, tension, and tightness in you neck. First off, what causes headaches? A large majority of headaches are a result of the muscles and joints around the upper neck becoming too tight. This puts pressure on the nerves at the top of your spine. This then shoots pain to the back of the eyes, forehead, and temples. People who have headaches often, can wake with it first thing in the morning, or it can develop during a long work day. Especially if you have a desk job, and have to stare down at a computer screen all day. What kinds of things can you do to relieve your headaches? Well, the good news is that gentle stretching exercises can help alleviate the aches associated with tight muscles around the neck and upper back. These really simple stretches can be done first thing in the morning, during breaks at work, or any time you feel a headache coming on. They will help minimize tightness and decrease the potential of tension related headaches. They can be done without any fancy equipment and only take a few minutes. The neck muscles are very important. They're what hold your head up. The group of muscles is called "Erector Spinae". There are 3 main muscles in this group. Iliocostalis(outside layer), Longissimus(middle layer), and Spinalis(inside layer). These muscles are responsible for extension of the spine. They sit over the spinal nerves. They are majorily covered by thoraco-lumbar and nuchal fascia. They lie superficial to the Transversospinalis muscles. The Transversospinalis muscles consist of the Semispinalis and Multifidus. The Multifidus muscle attatches to every vertebrae and is the thickest muscle in the body. I know I have seen it with my own eyes(on a cadaver). The skull portion of the Spinalis is actually inseparable from the skull portion of the Semispinalis muscle. The Iliocostalis has attachments throughout the spinal column while the middle and inside layers attach to the skull and cervical thoracic vertebrae. The Transversospinalis muscles lie underneath the Erector Spinae muscles. These are the muscles you are stretching. ![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmao3w4zx3wvprfYgjzxSS7SjdaQrPQPUfdLiV5zb8k9iL/image.png) Stretch #1: Chin tuck stretch Gently bend your head forwards with one hand and tuck your chin towards your chest with the other until you start to feel a stretch at the back of the neck. Hold this position for 30 seconds and repeat a few times. You will notice that if you are not flexible, this might feel uncomfortable. Do not pull on your head. Stretch #2: Cervical extensor stretch Begin with your head down. Turn your head about 20-30 degrees to one side. If you turned to the left, use the right hand to gently pull the head forwards. Put your fingertips at the base of your skull to feel the stretch. Hold for 5-10 seconds only, then turn the head and do the other side. Repeat each side 2-3 times. Stretch #3: Lateral flexion stretch Sitting on your left hand, take your right hand over your head to hold your left ear, then gently pull your head to the right. You should feel a stretch down the left side of your neck towards the shoulder. Hold for 20-30 seconds, then stretch the other side. Repeat 2-3 times. Stretch #4: Cervical rotation Turn your head to the left to look over your shoulder as far as possible. Hold for 2-3 seconds, then turn to the right and hold. Repeat 10 times each way. This allows the little joints on the side of the neck to help slide on each other. Stretch #5: Shoulder rolls To finish off your stretching session, gently roll both your shoulders forwards 5 times, then roll them backwards 5 times. This will allow the muscles that you have been stretching to help loosen up as well. Try to do these stretches regularly if you are prone to headaches to help prevent them. What other things can you do to prevent or treat headaches? Tight muscles are generally the result of a number of different causes. Poor ergonomics (or working postures) Reduced flexibility Bad posture Repetitive actions-this is particularly bad if you have managed to get rid of your headaches. They will continue to happen if you continue to do what is causing them. Increased stress and anxiety ***If the above stretches do not start to relieve your headaches quickly, consider seeing a physician. I am not a physician and I do not guarantee these will work for you. Oils and natural remedies are often a great route. The following oils are known to naturally alleviate headaches: Basil Birch Clary sage Clove Cypress* Winter fir Wintergreen Lemongrass Marjoram* Melissa Patchouli **Black pepper, Cypress, Marjoram, Juniper berry, Thyme, and ginger are a few other oils that have also been known to alleviate nerve pain. Well, there you have it. I hope you got great use out of the stretches. Ta Ta for now -Mel

Do not pull on your head. \n\nStretch #2: Cervical extensor stretch\nBegin with your head down. Turn your head about 20-30 degrees to one side. If you turned to the left, use the right hand to gently pull the head forwards. Put your fingertips at the base of your skull to feel the stretch. Hold for 5-10 seconds only, then turn the head and do the other side. Repeat each side 2-3 times.\n\nStretch #3: Lateral flexion stretch\nSitting on your left hand, take your right hand over your head to hold your left ear, then gently pull your head to the right. You should feel a stretch down the left side of your neck towards the shoulder. Hold for 20-30 seconds, then stretch the other side. Repeat 2-3 times.\n\nStretch #4: Cervical rotation\nTurn your head to the left to look over your shoulder as far as possible. Hold for 2-3 seconds, then turn to the right and hold. Repeat 10 times each way. This allows the little joints on the side of the neck to help slide on each other.\n\nStretch #5: Shoulder rolls\nTo finish off your stretching session, gently roll both your shoulders forwards 5 times, then roll them backwards 5 times.\nThis will allow the muscles that you have been stretching to help loosen up as well. Try to do these stretches regularly if you are prone to headaches to help prevent them.\n\nWhat other things can you do to prevent or treat headaches?\nTight muscles are generally the result of a number of different causes. \nPoor ergonomics (or working postures)\nReduced flexibility\nBad posture\nRepetitive actions-this is particularly bad if you have managed to get rid of your headaches. They will continue to happen if you continue to do what is causing them.\nIncreased stress and anxiety\n\n***If the above stretches do not start to relieve your headaches quickly, consider seeing a physician. I am not a physician and I do not guarantee these will work for you. \n\nOils and natural remedies are often a great route. The following oils are known to naturally alleviate headaches:\nBasil\nBirch\nClary sage\nClove\nCypress*\nWinter fir\nWintergreen\nLemongrass\nMarjoram*\nMelissa\nPatchouli\n\n**Black pepper, Cypress, Marjoram, Juniper berry, Thyme, and ginger are a few other oils that have also been known to alleviate nerve pain. \n\nWell, there you have it. I hope you got great use out of the stretches. \n\nTa Ta for now\n-Mel",
