      "title": "WELCOME TO NEW AGE DAPPS - A Solution to What Ails Us",
      "body": "\n3 Mar 20\n\nMy dear fellow Steemians, as I explained to my dog in a post recently re Justin Sun and Steemit Inc, absolutely nothing odd is taking place. This is just another example of a fact of Human Nature, which Lord Acton explained to us with such succinct and memorable brevity: <strong>Power corrupts – and Absolute Power corrupts absolutely.</strong> This has been true forever, and therefore should be no surprise. But, there is a very pertinent corollary to this truth, which has been unstated, and therefore uninspected; and it has been misshaping the daily lives of humankind for the last 10,000 years – ever since the advent of Civilization with its God-Kings. That corollary is this: <strong>Top-down Power Structures create Criminal Leaders.</strong>\n\nSurprise, surprise! This failing of standard organizational methods is endemic in all large groups (including Steemit Inc) and tragically – in every Government in existence! This is why the pages of History and the pages of today's newspapers are overflowing with stories of high-level Corruption running red with wars, and rumors of wars. For all of History, Criminal Leaders have been busy plundering their neighbors and their own populations. Given the pervasive distortions of Civilization—as Man's universal de facto model for the last 10,000 years—wholesale Criminality during that period was to be expected. No one really needs to be particularly surprised about it. \n\nFor our first 190,000 years, Homo sapiens lived happily in small Band Societies—where everybody knew everybody. Our default systems of Governance were Bottom-up Power Structures. Then 10,000 years ago, with the Agricultural Revolution, that all changed. We moved into cities jampacked with Strangers. Our default bottom-up systems of Governance no longer worked. By necessity, Governance changed radically from Bottom-up to Top-down Power Structures. And Criminal Leaders became the order of the day.\n\nThere are those who point out that Mankind was adversely affected by the Agricultural Revolution – in that our diet was radically changed, and that physiologically our bodies are still trying to adapt. I would argue that the greatest disruption brought about by the Agricultural Revolution was psychological, not physiological. When Societies changed from traditional Bottom-up Power Structures to the new Top-down Power Structures, necessitated by living in Cities—as Lord Acton's maxim intimates—from then on, all of our Societies were criminalized, and our baser instincts rewarded. Given such abnormal and traumatic circumstances, the last 10,000 years of Corruption, Criminality, and Warfare is just an obvious, although perverted reflection of Human Nature. \n\nBut happily, today's ubiquity of the undesired aspects of Man can be seen as an anomaly! And I say that it is an anomaly, because while the necessary logistics of Civilization require that Power be concentrated in only a few hands – Civilization itself has been with us for only 5% of our time on Earth. Here's a new saying for you: Don't judge the baby by the bathwater. Men and women are basically good. It is only the very smallest percentage of us who are Criminals. And as we exit Civilization, and enter the New Age, Criminality will cease to be a dominant influence in our daily lives. We will return to normal!\n\n<strong>Seen in this light, we can be confident that if the Structures of Governance that we create to organize ourselves in large groups do not continue to concentrate our Individual Power in the hands of only a few at the top of the structures, we will no longer create Criminal Leaders.</strong>\n\nThis makes perfect, logical sense – doesn't it? Please let me help you with the answer. \"Yes! This makes perfect, logical sense!\" But here's the kicker – even though the logic of the above statement seems undeniably true – it also probably feels totally irrelevant. And this is because, through all those pages of History, there has never been any other way for large numbers of men and women to efficiently associate and organize themselves – other than by establishing various types of God-Kings. So, for all those thousands of years, we have maintained Criminal Leaders. We have flowed them our Individual Power – they have concentrated it, and then, all too often, they have turned that Power back on us to strip us of our wealth. And they have also turned our young men into Soldiers so that they might plunder the wealth of our neighbors. Logistically it has been impossible for us to escape that scenario. There has just been no other way! And I understand that it's hard for folks to think outside of a box in which they have been stuck for 10,000 years! \n\n<strong>Well, guess what, fellow Steemians – now there is a way! </strong>\nWe now have the technology to solve all those problems of high-level Criminality with which Civilization has been struggling. It is now logistically possible for huge groups of people to solve their common problems without installing Criminal Leaders. And it should be no surprise, that after 10,000 years of continual Wars and Corruption, it is the Internet that will provide that new way. \n\nFor about 15 years, I've been flogging my <strong>Matrix-8 Platform</strong> as a solution to fix the perennial ravages of  Top-down Power Structures. I'll give you just the briefest of thumbnail descriptions here. The Matrix-8 Platform allows for Real-time Decentralized Governance. Using Democratic Processes, groups of any size can provide their Members with the Inclusive Participation, Anonymous Deliberation and Voting, which will allow them to speedily arrive at fully understood Actionable Accords. And it can all be done with only a Smartphone! (For a fuller exposition, please see my Introduction and White Paper, at https://steempeak.com/steemit/@matrix-8/a-newbie-s-combination-introduction-and-white-paper.) \n\n<strong>My Matrix-8 Platform can cure many of the ills of Civilization. </strong>\nSimply said, once it is adopted, Power will no longer be concentrated in the hands of a few Leaders. (Leaders who would thereafter be susceptible to the infection of Corruption.) With the Matrix-8 Platform, the Power inherent in any large organization—the Steem Community included—stays in the hands, and under the control of the individual Members themselves.\n<center>\n<strong>You never change things by fighting the existing reality. \nTo change something, build a new model \nthat makes the existing model obsolete. \n–Buckminster Fuller</strong>\n</center>\n\n\n\nWith the advent of the Matrix-8 Platform, Top-down Power Structures are obsolete. But without a Matrix-8 Platform a group of 500,000—such as ourselves—has no way to come to the constant critical Accords necessary to make its way efficiently into the future. The cacophony of Chatroom discussions won't make it. And if there is any community of individuals on this planet who should be able to see the simplicity of the Matrix-8 Platform – it is we Steemians. We need to organize ourselves in such a way that we can speak, and act as One. No Leaders – the only thing that leads us is the Common Cause that our group be truly free. The Steem Blockchain as given us the ability to enter into secure commerce with our STEEM Cryptocurrency; The Matrix-8 Platform will guarantee us our continued Freedom from any would-be Tyrants or clique of Elite.\n\n<strong>Getting the job done….</strong>\nIf we 500,000 Steemians were willing to pledge only $10 each to make this happen – we could quickly amass a war chest of Five Million Dollars! That sounds like enough to make a pretty good start…. We can pay ourselves in Crypto, and pay with cash for services we can't ourselves provide. When we're done, we'll have a truly decentralized Community that cannot be sold or corrupted by a few well-connected power brokers. When we're done, we'll have a state-of-the-art platform with a valuable bunch of <a href=\"https://www.goidcsa.com/\">unique bells and whistles</a> – created and controlled from the bottom up, by Us. New Age DApps will then be able to Sell/License/Receive Royalties from other organizations that use subway platforms to access the Matrix-8 Platform for their own purposes. When money starts to roll in, we can then decide how any profits should be disbursed. \n\nSo, let's stop crying over spilt milk! Let's pull ourselves together and create the platform we've all been dreaming about! The only real change will be that there won't be one or two entrepreneurs doing it – and thereafter pulling all the strings. We'll all do it! We pretty much know exactly what we want, and we have within our Members the technical knowledge to create it. So, what do you say?       "body": "Let me tell you a tale of blatant deceit and treachery, compounded by theft from an innocent.  We living here in Paradise have it pretty good – but we also have to be aware that evil lurks.  This particular fall from grace is in the form of Man's best friend.  He's a 54-pound black canine that has pushed his way into our home – this after his rightful Tico* owners had cast him out for what are now becoming obvious reasons.  \n\nHe's the one that we took in as a manageable puppy back when WW was still with us.  As I reported to you earlier, it was because he had used his considerable wiles and entrancing sweetness to win over first me then Cristina, that when confronted by the continual fights between WW and him (aptly named The Black) – we decide to banish WW in his favor.  Would that we could go back and rewrite history to reward the good, and punish the bad, but we are stuck with the fruits of the past as we lived it then, and must make the best of the resultant imperfect world.\n\nAnd to make this story of immediate relevance, I feel honor-bound to report that The Black is presently splashed across my lap as I write this – all 54 black pounds of him!  (I can only hope that he does not start to snore….)  Just as I am unable to rewrite history, it seems that I am also unable to learn from it.  I must have done some wretched things in some past life to be suffering as I am suffering now.  I don't want this story to get sidetracked and degenerate into a running account of the present – but what is going on right now, as I attempt to report his criminal behavior, bears directly on that account.  I think that he must sense in some way that I am in the process of broadcasting proof of his treachery to persons unknown – and he, in an apparently innocent attempt to get more comfortable in my admittedly scant lap, has pushed me back in my chair making it almost impossible for me to reach the keyboard.  \n\nOK – he's gone now.  Neither was he able to get comfortable, nor to stop me from occasionally pecking out the incontestable truth over his interpositioned bulk.\n\nWe have another dog – Dukie, a purebred toy poodle.  The Black is certainly not pure, and he reveals that much of his heritage springs from that reviled breed – the Pit Bull!  When first we met, he was still living with our Tico neighbors.  He just stood there, looking at me with his Devil's eyes – no white shows, just the dark brown blending imperceptibly into the coal-black of his coat.  He gave no indication of his intentions – he just looked at me.  I thought it best to give him a wide berth, lest his sinister neutrality turn aggressive.\n\nHere again, you can see how he infiltrates – intrudes into that which is only peripherally related to him.  I had intended to tell you about Dukie, but The Black just took over the paragraph above.  It's as if I am doomed to be pulled into his orbit no matter what other destination I had recorded in my flight plan.  I will now attempt to bend this paragraph back to telling you about Dukie….  Dukie is just a white fluffy speck as compared to The domineering Black.  In no way can he defend himself against the other's dark and massive presence; and he can be easily eclipsed if ever their interests are in conflict.  \n\nDukie arrived during WW's reign, long before the appearance of The Black.  Luckily for Dukie, WW, and now The Black – and for all the dogs that cross our paths – Cristina is very giving and sees to it that they are well fed and relatively clean.  (I too benefit from her attentions in this regard, although I still balk at the frequent baths.)  When Dukie and WW were to be fed, it was just a matter of putting their initialed bowls on the floor and letting them feed.  WW, although much larger than Dukie, respected Dukie's claim to the bowl bearing his initials: D.  If WW wandered too close to Dukie before Dukie had finished his meal, WW would heed the resultant growl, and keep his distance.  Perhaps when Dukie had left the table, so to speak, and had also left some morsel in his dish – then WW could help finish Dukie's portion without any resultant yapping protest.\n\nWith The Black, it is a very different story.  While he will not reveal his aggressive nature by charging or growling, or by forcing Dukie from his rightful meal – The Black (unless restrained) will nonetheless invariably wind up eating what was intended for Dukie.  He does it through quietly masked intimidation.  \n\nHe himself wolfs down whatever appears to be food whenever it is within striking distance.  He is always done seconds after the TB bowl is lowered into range.  Then when finished inhaling his portion, he becomes very interested in helping Dukie with his.  Dukie, of refined breeding, tends to eat more discriminatingly – he first sniffs the aroma of each of the various constituents in his bowl, and then he begins by delicately selecting out the most flavorful bits.  He is of the chew-20-times school, and takes his time dining.  The Black is openly contemptuous of Dukie’s effete picking at his food, and if unrestrained, will settle uninvited right next to the unfinished and now thoroughly distracted Dukie.  \n\nThe Black is not in the least put off by Dukie's warning growls.  He'll just sit calmly inches away and watch Dukie chew.  But Dukie gets so intimidated and incensed by having his territory invaded, that he soon devotes all his attention to protesting: growling, yapping, and at times snapping.  At that point, The Black figures that if eating is less important to Dukie than making such a racket of protest, that he is willing and able to take up the slack until eating the whatever becomes a moot point.  \n\n(The Black has just returned from wherever he was and has rejoined me in my chair.  This time he did not come to splash his big black bulk across my lap – no, this time he has inserted himself behind me, and is in the process of accommodating himself by pushing me completely out of the chair and onto the floor.)\n\nToday (and for the rest of the month) it is raining down here in Paradise.  Cristina usually feeds Dukie where he usually hangs out – tied under the cover of our detached rudimentary two-car garage – but with today’s unusually heavy rain she had brought him up to the porch where the rain-laden wind couldn't get at him.  The Black, being a creature of the streets, usually runs free.  Cristina ties him up, restricting him to the porch, only at feeding times, so that Dukie gets a chance to eat unmolested.  But today both were tied up on the porch when it came time for morning bones (freshly warmed in the toaster oven).  What wasn't apparent until Dukie exploded in a series of ear-splitting yips and yaps, was that the radii of their respective tethers described intersecting circles.  Foolishly Dukie had strayed into The Blacks circle of influence with his unfinished bone. \n\nThe human contingent rushed outside expecting the worst.  We were not disappointed – The Black was calmly chewing one of the bones – the other lying at his side for later.  Dukie meanwhile, boneless, was straining against his radius at its circumference aimed directly at The Black and the bones – all his noise-making organs at full max.  After a quick conference we, the human element, decided that the best option was to relieve The Black of the bone he wasn't currently working and give it to Dukie, who was then retied beyond any accidental intersection with The Black for the remainder of the morning bone chew.  That seemed to be a good solution.  The Black continued to contentedly chew, and the retied Dukie quieted all alarm systems as he devoted his attentions to what was left of the bone he now chewed.\n\nParadise returned to its peaceful default setting.  Then after a few minutes, The now boneless Black, appeared at the side door with his innocent face on, requesting entrance.  This, gentle reader, is the climax of the tale.  In my trusting ignorance of his true intentions, I opened the door and unclipped his tether allowing him to enter.  \n\nIn the side door he came, through the house like a shot and straight out the front door!  His true intentions were immediately announced by Dukie’s silence-shattering outrage – his bone gone yet again!  This time The Black took full advantage of his freedom and happily loped out of range of interfering humans to finish helping Dukie with his bone. \n\nYou might think that this story would have a more righteous ending than it does – what given the clear good-versus-evil theme and plot, and our daily vows that good shall triumph.  However, it is not so.  The fact is that we continue to be taken in by The Black at every turn.  One look into his deep brown liquid eyes, and we are entranced – sold again on the ever-fleeting idea that he is really a just wonderful companion with a wacky penchant for the occasional practical joke.  And my pride makes me convince myself that I was going to end off here anyway.  But in reality, I am now completely pushed out of the chair and attempting to type from an impossible position.  I’d reclaim my seat from The Black, but I hate to disturb him when he is snoring so peacefully.\n______________________\n*Tico is a nickname for Costa Ricans",

      "body": "Your concept is brilliant! You have taken the best of the best from previous successful projects and blended them together into something that is even better! Discounting Blockchain as a given – Bitcoin has value because of the work involved in Mining.  You have improved that model by dispensing with 99.9% of the work; you have replaced complicated Mining with the simplicity of Recruiting. And Facebook's proposed Libra will have immediate value just because of the volume of the people in its Network. With a minimum investment, you have virtually guaranteed you'll be to a Billion quite soon – without the need to do much more marketing. And numbers-wise, eventually Ecoin will be looking at Facebook in its rear-view mirror. And I urge anyone who finds truths in this exposition of the Matrix-8 Platform, to be brave enough to break out of their complacency, and act like a Sovereign Adult – DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! Spread the word!\n\nLet me give you my slant on the first question: Why? \n\nAtma.love questioned why we are so complacent in our acceptance of the Status Quo, instead of searching out new solutions and applying them. I'd like to take a look at it from a more historical perspective. Here's my take on the basic reason why the Status Quo has such a powerful hold on us.\n\n10,000 years ago, when Mankind gave up the hunter-gatherer way of life—opting for a better life as a settled farmer living in more densely populated towns and cities—it gave up a lot. Mankind left behind the Individual's rights to Sovereignty, Liberty, and Responsibility. \n\nSo far, no modern society has been structured such that it can equitably deal with a free Sovereign Individual. Starting with the ancient God-Kings, there has always been an Elite in control of our lives. For all of history—since Civilization has been run by Governments—the common man and woman have been taught since childhood to obey. First, of course, we have been under the control of our parents. Then, when we reach adulthood, we move out of the control of our parents and into the control of the State. No matter how old we are, no matter in what jurisdiction we have lived, we have always been treated as children – told what to do, and punished if we didn't do it. None of us actually ever gets the chance to become a Responsible Adult. And despite the obvious fact that our duly elected Leaders have made a mess of things – we have become convinced that Society would go to hell if we didn't always have our Betters above us, telling us what to do. \n\nI find that this ingrained mindset is the single greatest hurdle to getting folks to understand that there is a way out – that they 'can' take responsibility for their own lives, and that they can live in peaceful association with their neighbors. With their Smartphones in hand, individuals can reassert their Sovereignty, their Liberty, and their Responsibility – and create peaceful secure societies in which to live. Individuals may not recognize it, but with today's Internet technologies, they can coordinate their Power with that of others, and realize their agreed-upon goals.\n\nIn the obvious Dictatorships around the world, it seems that the good people of those countries have no Power. That is what the Dictators and their elite minions want you to believe. The opposite is true! The people of whatever nation are the 'only' Power of that nation. You and your friends and family and neighbors are probably all decent folks. Probably not one real Criminal among them. Then why is it, that even in the world's Democracies—where we 'do' have relative freedom to exercise our Power—all our Democratic Governments are awash in violence and corruption? Answer: \"Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely.\" Or, said another way – all top-down governmental power structures create Criminal Leaders. \n\nSolution: We must find a way to organize ourselves so that we do not continue to flow our personal Power into our Capital Cities – where it is concentrated, and sure to be abused by the corrupted Elite Power Junkies running things. History assures us that it is a certainty that they will then use that concentrated Power for their own benefit, and to our detriment.
