      "body": "European leaders started encouraging Europeans to drive diesel cars in the 1990s by reducing taxes on automotive diesel and increasing taxes on gasoline. The French, especially the working class French enthusiastically embraced cars with inexpensive and long-lasting diesel engines, but there were unintended consequences.
