I thought it was just another one of his attention getting stunts. Social Media platforms have people talking about the future of Twitter and some folks have already jumped ship. Is the privatization of Twitter under Elon Musk a good thing or the end for the platform? Free Speech on Twitter, Can Elon Do it? Elon has stated that free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and the platform is the “digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated.” I agree with Elon about the importance of debate in a democratic society to find real solutions. However, what I have witnessed on Twitter, like the halls of parliament, there is more yelling and less listening going on. I thought it was just another one of his attention getting stunts. Social Media platforms have people talking about the future of Twitter and some folks have already jumped ship. Is the privatization of Twitter under Elon Musk a good thing or the end for the platform?\n\n\nFree Speech on Twitter, Can Elon Do it? \n\nElon has stated that free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and the platform is the “digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated.” I agree with Elon about the importance of debate in a democratic society to find real solutions. However, what I have witnessed on Twitter, like the halls of parliament, there is more yelling and less listening going on. bodyOur primal minds are all about survival and when it feels uncomfortable, it spins out of control to get us to act. It feels something is wrong deep down in our gut and it wants the feeling to go away, so it cycles through problems, stressors, and regrets to try to determine the threat causing the feeling. Has this ever happened to you? The city noise penetrates my sleep and I wake, alone, feeling a foreboding, an unease, a fear deep in my gut. Flashes of incomplete thoughts play in front of my mind’s eye. The feeling in my gut gets worse as its knots tighten, my mind cycles, and fear grows. Rent is Due Tasks not done On my own Failures play out It takes time for the cobwebs to clear. For the generator to turn on and kick start my conscious mind. As my consciousness comes back online and my eyes begin to focus, I stretch and my tummy rumbles - I’m hungry not scared. Analyze the Situation When we consciously analyze the situation. Break it down. We discover things are not as scary as we thought and nowhere near as stressful because we can act on a solution, so why is our society filled with so much fear? bodyI am interviewing people about their brand stories and, more importantly, brand storytellers about Brand Storytelling in the Digital Age on my Podcast - BrandAPeel Well, like most of what I do an idea pops into my head and I jump off the cliff to see what will happen - which is the OPPOSITE of what I recommend clients do. All it is costing me to test the market is time... and I don't have a life beyond creating content and telling brand stories. For those who don't have time and need to hire help to produce a podcast, you must first research what people want and how to position your brand into the market. Let me do the research of jumping in, talking to brand storytelling experts, and listening to what people are engaging with to discover what is going on out there. Then I'll have the knowledge you need to be more successful in your efforts. When I re-started my podcast at the end of January, I was shocked by how many people were contacting me to talk to me about brand storytelling. Before I knew it, I had over 70 booking requests and I didn't want to make any of them wait a year before their episode was published - so I was posting one episode a day for 2 weeks and as people listened to my podcast - I had more people contacting me to talk about brand storytelling. Trying to get content for APeeling digital magazine was like pulling teeth at times and the readership was only 2 000 per monthly issue - Podcasting gives quality backlinks, appointments with interesting people, blog posts for UnPeeled, and content for future issues of APeeling. https://www.marketapeel.agency/post/100-podcast-episodes-100-days

Use the power of secrets to increase curiosity, inspire engagement, and foster loyalty. When you email your loyal customers a special code or information about a new product before the public knows, it can create a sense of importance in your customer. This is especially true when you pair it with a public campaign cloaked in secrecy. Imagine if … Imagine if a big brand created a video of a shape draped in silky fabric moving along it and people watching, waiting to see what is beneath the folds. The narrator tells us the brand has uncovered a story that will change how we live. A secret so powerful, it will rock our world. I was having trouble shifting my mindset to the mainstream after a lifetime of illegal status and I wanted to know if they experienced any backlash within the community. bodyEver have a manager or co worker give you a backhanded compliment where they say good job. But ... And they do it in front of your whole team. Feels like the air is let out of your balloon and the recognition you deserve is no longer there. Well - It says more about the character of the person than it does about your work - as long as the job you did was the best you could do - you win. In most cases it is because they feel threatened by others who do better than they do or they don’t like not being the centre of attention. Chances are - They have no idea they are being jerks. They just open their mouths and out it pops or they hit send without assessing how their comments will be perceived. Keep doing the good work. Someone somewhere is watching

bodyEver feel used, unappreciated, put aside, overlooked, betrayal or any number of negative emotions in the workplace? I go through this when clients hire another firm, ask me to help them but there’s no $ to pay, and when I find out they’ve done an end run around me. I live alone - so no venting and truth be told - venting may help you feel better but the consequences of telling someone something they can then take out of context - puts you in a bad light and precarious place. So what do you do? Journal? Go for a walk? Have a nap? Work on something else? Look for a different job? For one thing you have no idea what their thought process was or why they decided to go one way over another. You may not have been the best choice or there may be a thousand other reasons why something happened like it did. It is personal but you can’t take it personally. Confused? It is difficult. Basically - You have to not care, which is easier said than done. Here is one way to get through the emotional storm. - Focus on you. Have a plan for yourself and work on that plan. Take a course to improve your skill set, read a book to find insight about how to have a better mindset, and build your digital brand by telling the right stories. You have the opportunity to be seen by other employers, head hunters, and hiring managers by telling your brand story about what you are learning, the courses you are taking, and the skills you have. How can you do this without sounding like a pompous arsehole? Both are on either side of a weight scale and still interact to fuel each other An author can use the fear of losing a love or a child to motivate a character into action. Fear of loss - We can’t control if something is lost or someone is lost. Fear of object - The object is in control of our response and our safety Fear of future - No one controls time, the future, the past or right now. Fear of the unknown - You can’t control what you don’t know Fear of people - Can’t control the actions of others Fear of public speaking - Your inability to control what they will say or think when they pay attention to you So, if we want to live a fearless life - We need to lose control. We need to let it go, accept it, and trust that things will be as they will be. We need to see things for what they really are and not what they might be. Due to global communication our world is micro and we fear things that are not a threat. We create threats. We are our own worst enemy because we have irrational fears, anxiety and panic attacks. We start hiding from the world, shutting off from those around us becoming isolated. All one needs do is watch the news to know we are in a state of fear. Covid, protests, violence, division, and personal attacks. It can be a scary place if we focus only on what we cannot control. By focusing on what we can and acting accordingly, we can go out and succeed. I live in fear every day, but I do not let it stop me from trying to succeed. Yes, I am scared, but I’m still here trying! We can get enough of celebrities' stories, especially if they fall from their pedestals, high above us lowly mortals. Considering the pressures, reversals of fortune, and the constant judgmental eye of the media, both traditional and social, I'm surprised they aren't all walking around depressed. Twenty to thirty years ago, any sign of vulnerability, weakness, or emotional breakdowns would have been a career killer. Thankfully, we've come a long way in just a few decades and we are having conversations about mental health and celebrities are inspiring others to get help and to be strong in their battle with depression. When I was a teenager, movies like Dead Poets Society and Heathers were beginning to explore darker topics of being a teenager. Today, teens have more resources, less morality shame, and a world of advice, yet suicide continues to rise to highs my generation never saw.
