My name is Jesse Lawrence, a British filmmaker, though I’ve recently spent some time in the States, specifically sunny California. When I was a kid in the 1980s I starred in three Bob Marley music videos, One Love, Waiting in Vain and Get Up Stand Up. With my thick, wild dreadlocks (I may grow them back one day) the deal was that I was supposed to represent a young Bob Marley or the spirit of the great man and I guess I did such a good job that for decades people were convinced that I was one of his many sons! But I ain’t, I’m from London born and bred, and grew up on the World’s End Estate. I say bizarrely because my filmmaking roots as well as the screenplays I generate are usually a more gritty affair, I suppose a mix of realism, dark humour and the absurd. \n\nMy next feature film is called Road Girl and based on the true story of a teenager who joins a gang and takes to a life of violence before finding redemption by embracing her gay sexuality and making a go of the ‘straight and narrow’ before the streets pull her back.  It would be awesome to build a worldwide audience harnessing steemit! My name is Jesse Lawrence, a British filmmaker, though I’ve recently spent some time in the States, specifically sunny California. When I was a kid in the 1980s I starred in three Bob Marley music videos, One Love, Waiting in Vain and Get Up Stand Up. With my thick, wild dreadlocks (I may grow them back one day) the deal was that I was supposed to represent a young Bob Marley or the spirit of the great man and I guess I did such a good job that for decades people were convinced that I was one of his many sons! But I ain’t, I’m from London born and bred, and grew up on the World’s End Estate.
