| title | Can Bitcoin Replace Gold ? |
| body | It’s relatively scarce, recognized across borders, and can be held anonymously. And unlike physical gold, which needs to be kept in a safe, Bitcoin codes can be kept on a computer or even a piece of paper. This makes Bitcoin a potential threat to gold bulls, one that has clearly caught the attention of the industry. The World Gold Council, an industry group representing gold miners, issued a report this year arguing that “cryptocurrencies are no substitute for gold” and won’t eliminate the need for the metal even if they do become a mainstream financial asset. Gold, the report notes, has the blessing of regulators, is less volatile than Bitcoin, and is a well-understood part of a balanced investment portfolio. Still, as the price of Bitcoin soared 1,400% last year, there were indications that crypto had stolen some thunder—and perhaps some assets—from gold. Demand for gold bars and coins in the U.S. fell in 2017, and remained weak through the first quarter of 2018, according to the World Gold Council. In an interview on Thursday, Louney said that the inverse correlation between Bitcoin and gold has continued this year and even strengthened somewhat, but it remains relatively weak and unreliable. Bitcoin could “pull some marginal flows from gold,” at least among people who view both gold and Bitcoin as forms of “stateless currencies,” he said. “But when we look deeper into the data, there’s little if any evidence of a causal relationship between the two,” making it hard to use the price action of one to predict the value of the other. “There are a subset of investors who do see the two as interchangeable, but I don’t think that’s a broad market view at this point.” With the cryptocurrency tumbling 55% so far this year, the argument for Bitcoin as a gold alternative—the metal is down 8% this year—may have dimmed a bit. Gold tops Bitcoin on other metrics, too. The total value of all the gold in the world is about $7 trillion, and $250 billion changes hands every day on average, the World Gold Council says. There’s about $115 billion worth of Bitcoin outstanding, and about $6 billion changes hands each day, according to CoinMarketCap.com. Thank you. |

| title | Bitcoin may fall under 1000$ in 2019 |
| body | An author and contrarian Geoffrey Caveney has offered an answer to this question, saying bitcoin is headed for a far worse downward trend possibly from the rest of 2018 to the next two years at least. In an article published on 14 September, Caveney said the projections of bottom prices for bitcoin have been too high and so give investors a false sense of security. Comparing the bitcoin trend of 2017 and 2018, he said if the price of the asset could rise from $1,700 to $19,000 then it is possible for it to fall below $1,000 even saying it could reach $0.01. According to the article, Caveny doesn’t think now is the best time to invest in bitcoin simply because the prices are down as opposed to what some authors have written about expert opinions on market trends. He blamed the massive investment in bitcoin despite the negative market trends on “bitcoin and crypto bulls” who he said keep a straight face and act like nothing has gone wrong with the market, saying everyone investing now will be disappointed soon. |

| title | Crypto Markets Keep Fluctuating: Most Top 20 Coins Back in Green, Bitcoin Above $6,700 |
| body | Bitcoin finally is testing the $7,000 level as it soared up to past $6,900 during the final hour before it closed. It is now August 28 and the trend appears upward from late yesterday afternoon. The CoinDesk outlook Based on its technical analysis the CoinDesk article predicts: "The bearish net positions in the bitcoin futures markets hit a record low last week, validating the argument put forward by the technical charts that the cryptocurrency has likely bottomed out around $6,000. A break above $6,800 (psychological resistance) would bolster the already bullish technical setup and would open the doors to $7,000. | title | The first-ever Bitcoin transaction was used to buy two pizzas – today, it’s worth $150 million |
| body | Bitcoin is massively volatile and has been on epic run last years. The cryptocurrency started the year at roughly US$1000 (AU$1300). As I write this, it is worth a staggering USD$11,534 (AU$15,000) a coin. By the time you read this it will probably be worth more. When it comes to Bitcoin, there are plenty of tales of woe and success out there. Gizmodo‘s Campbell Simpson recently wrote an article lamenting the fact that he had thrown out AU$7.6 million in Bitcoin (now it’s more like AU$16 million, buddy). If you think that’s bad, let’s all spare a thought for a developer named Laszlo Hanyecz who is credited with making the first Bitcoin transaction ever. In May 2010, when Bitcoin was worth a measly US$0.08, Hanyecz posted on the Bitcoin Forum that he’d use 10,000 bitcoins to pay for a couple of pizzas. Within a few days, Hanyecz was contacted by Jeremy Sturdivant, an 18-year-old who called a pizza store in Florida and arranged to have two pizzas sent to Hanyecz for the princely sum of US$25. “I just want to report that I successfully traded 10,000 bitcoins for pizza,” Hanyecz wrote on May 22, a day now known by the cryptocurrency community as “Bitcoin Pizza Day”. |

| title | Is Hal Finney Satoshi Nakamoto? Ideas? |
| body | Hal Finney received the first ever Bitcoin transaction. Hal Finney was the second ever user of Bitcoin (after Satoshi) (How we would he even know about it?). Hal Finney was a pioneer in PGP encryption a software used by the cryptographic company he work for PGP (since acquired by Symantec). Hal Finney exchanged emails with ‘Satoshi Nakamoto’ but he could have wrote these to distance himself from his own invention. Hal Finney was a known computer scientist and cryptographer that worked and ideas on crypto currency. Hal Finney was instrumental in early Bitcoin Protocol bug fixes. Hal Finney lived close (same neighbourhood) to someone actually called Dorian Satoshi Nakamoto (below). Dorian Satoshi Nakamoto ‘Satoshi Nakamoto’ wanted to remain anonymous because was likely scared of the repercussions of inventing a potential rival to the USD and a worthy challenge to the estblashement. Satoshi Nakamoto wanted to remain anonymous due to the arrest of the investors of the Liberty Dollar in 2009. The ability for commercial banks and central banks to create money from nothing is the one thing that keeps them and governments from being accountable and honest to the people they should be answerable to. Hal Finney is sadly no longer with us (as are so many of those who challenge and threaten the status quo). He was super healthy and became very ill suddenly and has been cryogenically frozen. So What do you think for this situation guys? Thank you. |

| title | Alleged 19-Year-Old SIM Swapper Used Stolen Bitcoin to Buy Luxury Cars |
| body | Xzavyer Narvaez, 19, is accused of seven counts of computer crimes, identity fraud, and grand theft, according to a complaint obtained by Motherboard. Narvaez’s arrest comes approximately a month after that of Joel Ortiz, the first person in the US to ever be accused of hijacking phone numbers—a type of fraud also known as SIM swapping or “port out scam”—to steal Bitcoin. Earlier this month, Florida police arrested a 25-year-old also accused of being part of a group that stole Bitcoin through SIM swap hacks. It appears that Narvaez spent some of the Bitcoin he stole on sports cars. Through DMV records, the police found that Narvaez purchased a 2018 McLaren paying partly in Bitcoin and partly by trading-in a 2012 Audi R8, which Narvaez purchased with Bitcoin in June 2017. The investigators obtained records from Bitcoin payment provider BitPay, and cryptocurrency exchanges Bittrex. The records revealed that between March 12, and July 12 of this year, Narvaez’s account saw a flow of 157 Bitcoin (now worth around $1 million), according to a court document. |

| title | Bitcoin Price Analysis – Bullish Territory Before a Sharp Fall Near $6,400 |
| body | At last, Bitcoin price stopped taking strikes from its crucial resistance level near $6,500 and went for a home run, instead. Then, the referee called it a foul. In simple words, Bitcoin crashed towards the same consolidation range that was holding it before the upside breakout. The BTC/USD on Wednesday attempted a strong upside breakout, rising as much as 7.8 percent and coming out of an overlong consolidation phase. The pair started began the day on a bearish note and slipped towards 6440-fiat. It, however, began to express a massive bullish sentiment during the early Asian trading session and jumped from 6441-fiat to 6899-fiat within an hour. The pair then slipped further owing to a considerably large long positions getting executed. The correction accelerated during the European session and formed lower lows towards 6610-fiat. And now, at the beginning of the US session, the price has almost negated its gains following a massive dump. Following the jump, we were able to draw some amazing profits from our long positions towards 6700-fiat. Not ready for a dump as this one, we refrained from entering any new positions. It is advised first to note the scope of the latest crash. For now, it has rested around 6400-fiat, but an extended correction could bring the price to as low as 6300-fiat. If we are able to bounce back from here, we will find our new support near 6400-fiat, while once again looking at 6500-fiat as our potential resistance level. At the same time, our upside target on a breakout above resistance would be towards 6550fiat, and our downside target on a breakout below 6400-fiat would be towards 6300-fiat. In either case, our stops will be placed 2-pips above/below the entry points. |

| title | Bitcoin-Enabled Square Cash Surpasses PayPal’s Venmo in Downloads |
| body | Square Cash, a money transfer app that enables Bitcoin purchases, has reportedly surpassed PayPal’s Venmo in total downloads. According to a report by CNBC that cites a recent Nomura Instinet analysis, Square Cash totaled 33.5 million downloads in July compared to Venmo’s 32.9 million. It was previously reported that Square Cash had nearly 2 million downloads per month in May and June, tripling Venmo’s growth during that period. A Nomura Instinet analyst emphasized in a note to clients last week that the current growth in Square Cash downloads is decoupled from the app’s Bitcoin trading functionality. Square recently reported $400,000 in profit on $37 million of revenue in the second quarter from its Bitcoin trading operations. |

| body | Yes, Starbucks is getting into crypto—just not at the cash register. At least not yet. The coffee retailer on Friday announced Bakkt (pronounced “backed”), a joint venture with the Intercontinental Stock Exchange (NYSE’s parent), BCG, and Microsoft, among others. The new company aims to create a “seamless global network” for spending digital assets such as bitcoin. Starbucks’ payments VP said the company would play “a pivotal role in developing practical, trusted and regulated applications for consumers to convert their digital assets into US dollars for use at Starbucks.” That was enough for news outlets. Various headlines trumpeted the notion that Starbucks fans would soon be able to pay for their teas and lattes with bitcoin. |

| title | Here Is How Starbucks Will Lead The Adaptation Of Bitcoin |
| body | The news that the owners of the New York Stock Exchange – the Intercontinental Exchange – has teamed up with Microsoft, BCG, Starbucks and other firms to launch the Bakkt company that will push Bitcoin and other digital assets towards becoming mainstream financial asset, has come at an opportune time in the crypto-verse. The news came during a time period when the crypto-markets lacked the momentum to get out of the current bear trend. Although the news came late on Friday, there is indeed hope in the crypto-marekts. "Starbucks are going to allow you to take your crypto and effectively load up a US Dollar card with it. We do not have a problem with that payment system here in the US. This is more about a move forward and if you look at Starbuck’s history, they are really at the forefront of digital payments particularly in the retail space. To have them involved is more of a signal that this is becoming more of a mainstream. If you go globally, they are talking about Bitcoin as a global currency…which I believe it could be…People are going to start using Bitcoin to buy their coffee if their currency does not work well." according to CNBC 's Brain Kelly. |
